I visited Ypres when I was in high school. It's eerie. Every flat piece of land around the town is a cemetery. It really put war movies in perspective.
The Wipers Times! A fantastic adaptation. I hope you enjoyed watching it, Johnny!
Just from watching this clip alone I NEED to see this movie, my God
The Wipers Times - brilliant film. Funny, but oh so sad. So many brave young men who never made it home. It's on RUclips, so enjoy.
I have the book! A collection of all the Wipers times from the war. Absolutely brilliant and poignant.
WW I on western front it was rather a bloody stalemate
Any front in WW1 was a stalemate
Damn how did I not know about this?
Reminds of the people who had picnics while overlooking the Battle of Bull Run.
Lest we forget....
YES NEW VID
I heard lots of nations military took Michelin guide handbook for reference in making their own military release map both in first and second world war
in the Spanish Civil War, both sides used widely the Michelin guide maps. At least , at start of the war. There are a lot of references about this fact.
In 1940, the Germans navigated their way through the Ardennes using Michelin Guides.
Is this show like a British Band of Brothers?
They call Ypers (Ieper) WHAT?????? 💀💀💀
You couldn't make it up - in a dramatization.
