Looking at your booth, I think you will do really well. All your things are in such good taste. Keep on working as you have, give it some time. May God bless your business.
Heather, you are doing a great job AND you were very fortunate to cover rent the first month!!! I, like you, are lucky to be able to treat my booth as a hobby. Face it, we'll never be rich doing this, but the creative outlet is so important. If you enjoy what you are doing, the rest will take care of itself. I'm enjoying following your adventure!
Thank you sooo much, This video was very informative. It could not have come at a better time, I appreciate you sharing the details of having a booth. Congrats, you seem to be on your way. And your space looks great! Best wishes to a fun and prosperous year.
So PROUD OF YOU!!! Thank you for sharing with us your first month overview!!! I love your reset for April, you have done an amazing job in this past month of building your month…I’m so excited for you & thank you for taking us along in your journey!!! I look forward to all your future booth updates!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Also love your business sign, business cards & everything!!!
Great first month. At least you didn't lose money. I start getting my social security in June. I am starting my booth in June. Thank you for doing your channel. It helps me tremendously.
Congrats on a profit! I have heard most businesses lose money for the first 2 years , so you are off to a good start. You learned a lot and you will begin to find that magic spot between what brings you joy and what your customers want. Keep on keep in’ on!
Congratulations on making a profit in your first month as a retail booth owner! And thank you so much for sharing the numbers. My husband and I have had a booth for several years, but basically treated it as a hobby. We are looking to start making some profit soon as we approach retirement age. Videos like this help as we try to determine how to keep track of everything. Thank you for sharing. And your booth looks amazing!
You did really well for your first month! You covered all of your expenses. You learned a ton. Now you have customers that know where you are. Your sales will take off from here. Keep up the hard work!
Thank You so much for sharing this. It was very helpful to me. I have the dream. A basement full of stuff but no booth yet. I'm just going to keep crafting and keep getting on the waiting lists.
I think your booth looks great. You will do well. The breakdown will help others who may be considering getting a booth. Good that you shared that info. Congratulations ❤️
Just found your Chanel thanks for this breakdown. I have been doing this in a friends shop but just went out and got my first booth space and know it will take time to make a profit. Love your crafts and ideas!
Keep on keeping’ on. Thanks for being so open and honest. I think people are just now itching to get out and get shopping for spring, Easter, Mothers Day summer so hang in there! You weren’t in the red so that is GREAT!
Hi Heather, just found your video,I love all of your items that I saw so far, I would love to go thrifting and have a booth, but as I live in Ireland that’s impossible as rents are ridiculously high and thrift shops are way over the top with prices, so I get my fix by watching thrift videos, love to see what you thrift everything you do with them, the price you paid and what you sold for and updates of your booth, you’re an inspiration to me and I hope all goes really well at your booth for you, best of luck to you🌞👍
I love to hear that you are still pushing on. Congratulations on making it through your first month. I have been building my inventory to go into a booth soon and although it is scary to hear what you have shared i an optimistic. Thank you for sharing.
You have a lovely booth. I owned an antique mall for many years and after I sold it, I rented a booth. I am now retired from that and purchase antiques for my home only. I tell others that you can't go by month to month - the real profit/loss story is at the end of the year on Schedule C. LOL. You got this!
Well that is great advice to look at it annually rather than month to month! Since I am learning I really want to see the monthly numbers so I can learn and adjust for the following month. I will remember your advice if I feel discouraged thought because it’s the long game I should focus on! ❤️
@@CreateYourOwnCozy Absolutely, look at those monthly numbers so that you can plan for the next 3 months. Focus on what sold, seasons, etc. I love that you make and sell what you love. That will be your brand. What sets you apart. You got this!
Girl- love your channel- and Henry too. I have a 11x8 booth in a 55,000 square foot mall. I pay 241 plus 10% for advertising and credit card charges. I make my rent and then some every month- but so much work! I don't have any help and sometimes it's a lot of heavy lifting. Like yesterday- putting new shelving in- I was there 3 hours. Plus thrifting and remaking stuff. I make my moola on smalls- cute small pics and for some reason antique doilies- I sell the heck out of them. Had to take my metal art out of there because of theft- wow- lots of theft of my spoon rings and my antique rings. My mall won't let you lock anything up. I put new stuff in every week. I live in a metro area where there are TONS of thrift stores, and it's a tourist destination too so we get the people. So proud of you!! Keep on rockin it out- I can't wait to see how you do.
Thanks I Love watching you you are the real real and putting it out there honestly let’s me know and decide weather or not I will want to do this some day you have gorgeous things and I think you are going to do just great 😊
You can do it! I've have a booth going on for 10 months and i love it . It's fun it just takes some creativity and enjoying what you do. You got do just fine.i just subscribe!
Thank you for sharing this. I’m in Hampton, GA and was going to rent space at 2.00 a sq. ft. and 12% and a bit nervous 😬. Your booth is beautiful. Wishing you much success 💕
Heather thank you so much for sharing your journey, I think you did great considering it was your first month...be patient and stay faithful you will get there before you know it... I'm starting to prepare for a booth myself, by that I mean that I'm starting to collect merchandise...I've bought alot of goodies at the GW bins that I will be upcycling soon as well as a couple pieces of furniture...Can't wait to get this started...Your booth looks awesome! ❤️
Hang in there girl, your stuff is AMAZING! I love watching your channel. If I lived close I would shop your booth....Southern Illinois is pretty far away from you. However if I am ever in your area you can bet I'll be visiting your booth.
I loved your video I’m also thinking about doing a booth so this video was very helpful I wish you the best and your stuff in your booth is beautiful I love it all
Very helpful! Doing the same and feeling a bit nervous especially since we are over2 hrs away from our booth location. You have staged your space beautifully! We are headed over to set up our space this weekend and then the Antique Mall opens next month. Here in Portland Oregon it is booked up solid with months long waiting lists. So we are setting up over at the coast which gets a lot of tourist traffic. Thanks for keeping it real. You have a new Sub here!
Thanks for joining me Tami! Good luck to you on your space! It is a great creative outlet and one that is constantly teaching me…you will get real stuff from me because I don’t know how to do any different! 🤣
....also....my suggestion...visit your booth more often....so you can talk to possible customers and offer a discount if they bundle!...that happened to me and a booth owner😉👍👍👍
Building your inventory is an investment. You need to keep a full booth to draw people in. You did great making any profit in your first month. My sales tripled when I got a bigger space at my vendor mall. I had to spend more to fill it up but it is well worth the investment. Love your channel ❤️❤️❤️
Heather, congratulations on your accomplishments! Keep trucking girl!! I have total faith in your skills. Always encourage others to follow their dreams, just like you are. ❤️
Well that is good to know! Another vendor in my store told me the same thing the other day too. Maybe these high gas prices removed some expendable income?
New subscriber here, I love that your showing the real truth...I see a few flippers on here with spaces and they only tell you the good.. great first start. 👍
Thank you so much for sharing! Your booth looks beautiful. I'd say if you didn't lose money the first month you're doing good. If you could sell one bigger piece with a higher margin that would make your rent. Best of luck to you.
Congratulations, on making a profit! My goal is to cover the cost of my booth and materials and you accomplished that. I enjoy crafting and creating and if someone else likes my creations, that's a bonus! Keep up the good work and for always inspiring all of us who follow you!
I love that you shared the break down and behind the scenes look at your expenses to run a booth. I would love to rent a booth some day but right now I do work full time and have a RUclips channel of my own. I can’t imagine running a booth as well but I definitely need somewhere to sell all of my products! I would love to see more updates as time goes on if you are willing to share.
It came out of a need to sell all the stuff I was making for my channel. Also, I am able to advertise my channel in my booth so I am hoping to get more locals to subscribe too! It has been an adjustment getting a video out each week and working out the booth stuff. I can see how it will be better once I get in a rhythm and learn a little more what sells! Thanks for watching!
Hello Heather....don't feel bad about just one month!....keep it up girl....my suggestion...try to upcycled big item tickets....like...dressers , hutch...side tables..etc...you got the idea...right?...
I am focusing on medium sized furniture this month and trying to find easy to move and $60-$75 price points that people could buy on a whim! Thanks for your feedback!
Hang in there! I just opened mine too and I’m taking it slow so I don’t even know if I will make rent but it’s fun and I know in time it will all be worth it
Congratulations on your 1st month! I've loved that tray with the birds on it. Can't believe no one has snatched it up yet. Keep doing what you love. It'll all pay off in the end.
It sold one of the first days of April…finally! I think I’ll make another one with the other birds in the Brocante transfer book now. Hard to sell because I want to keep it!
This sounds so familiar...I started out at 100.00 monthly up to 640.00 in about 2 years. Sold smalls and money makers cabinets, tables, etc. Most painted and upcycled. It was a hobby and business. Tags, cards and credit card charge is a pain. You have the business sense and will do great. Your personality is awesome. Prayers for you.
I have had a booth at a local Market for about 2 years, here in Australia. It's only open on Sundays and booth holders have to attend. Somme weeks I make a small profit, other weeks I'm lucky to break even. I sell a mixture of crafted items and vintage decor. The rent is pretty high but I have a large room and I can leave it there and close up at the end of the day. I have social media but I don't seem to get much interaction from them. I'm trying out a RUclips channel and Ebay to see if it helps. I see so many similar business' doing very well and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but I do it because I love.
Well if I have learned anything on this You Tube journey it’s this: just be yourself, be consistent and just because someone else takes off right away it doesn’t mean you won’t. The timing of everyone’s channel and business is different!
Congratulations, Heather! You're off to a flying start. Thanks for the transparency; although I'm not in the business end of things, I know it will help many people. The booth tour is outstanding. Not only is each piece a beauty, the overall impression is fabulous.
One of the biggest issues with malls is proper pricing. Keep an eye on other booths. A lot of people really don't do their homework and underprice because they don't know what they have. I use to get some great buys from others in the mall and all I had to do was swap a tag and made some pretty good proffits
Stumbled upon you video and I loved it - I've always wondered about having a booth at our local antique mall! I love to shop there and love to create - may I ask what your initial investment in materials to sell as well as in time was? thanks for sharing! I think your 'profit' for March is just the beginning! Your booth is so appealing!
My husband is wants to know the same thing! 😩. I had a thrifting habit and started stockpiling for awhile now. Been using items for my channel and for our house and didn’t track how much I spent. Until now. My time is also hard to track because I do a little here and a little there and since I film it, it takes a little longer than it would if I didn’t make a video about it. Sorry that probably didn’t help at all…but I will be aware of those things moving forward and try to share that!
Heather, congrats on your first month as a resale booth owner! Your booth looks amazing as well as the inventory. I believe you could very well double your sales from March to April. All the best and thank you for being real. : )
I have had profitable Re-sale booths for many years. My advice to you is to ALWAYS take advantage of your aisle space, and NEVER show the backside of your furniture to the aisle side, which looks like is something you did. Put furniture items, Back to back, With one piece facing the aisle, And another piece facing inside your booth. Is your booth at Queen of Hearts? GOOD LUCK!!.
Your booth is so cute. Congrats on your "profit"... ! I think that is a great start. I have a small booth and consider it a fun hobby. Love your videos!
Your booth looks amazing. I think you are going to do great. I feel like I am on your same journey. I have made the mistake of not tracking cost of good because with painting them or adding embellishments I did not know how to figure costs. My first month I sold one more item than you for a total of about $100 less but my rent is less…. I am probably at the same $4 as you- lol!
Hang in there, it will get better. First month is always very hard to come out with a profit.
Thank you!
I LOVE how your booth is styled! It's so pretty and inviting!
Thank you for saying that! ❤️
Congratulations Heather! Keep pushing on. Your booth is lovely, beautiful items!. 👍🥰❤️

Thank you Beverly!!
I love the platter you painted blue and added the bird sticker too.
Thank you! It finally sold the first week in April. Thought that one would go quick but it’s person finally found it!
Heather, you are doing a great job AND you were very fortunate to cover rent the first month!!! I, like you, are lucky to be able to treat my booth as a hobby. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. And remind us what it takes a while to turn a profit, but nit to give up too soon.

All depends on what you choose to sell!!!! Good info!!!
Location of business and placement of booth in business and your merchandizing skills !!!
True! I am hoping to get better at those things. My location isn’t perfect in the store but at least it is on the first row which I think helps!

So sweet, thank you!!
Didn't realize you were so close! I'm in Snellville GA
So cool! That’s where my in-laws live!!
Congratulations, Heather! You're off to a flying start. Thanks for the transparency; although I'm not in the business end of things, I know it will help many people. The booth tour is outstanding. Not only is each piece a beauty, the overall impression is fabulous.
So sweet Gina! Thank you! ❤️
It will get better!! \o/
Thank you!
One of the biggest issues with malls is proper pricing. Keep an eye on other booths. A lot of people really don't do their homework and underprice because they don't know what they have. I use to get some great buys from others in the mall and all I had to do was swap a tag and made some pretty good proffits
That is a great tip! Just got a chair the other day from another dealer for $11!
I just opened a booth in December 2021 & in 2 months I sprang for another booth…it is addicting & fun. Hang in there.
I can see how more space lets you spread out a little. You never know! 🤣
Your both is very nice . Lots of things I would like to buy from your booth. Wishing you all the best
So sweet! Thank you!
Keep at it
thank you!
Real is what I do best! Thank you for liking that! ❤️
I have had profitable
Re-sale booths for many years.
My advice to you
is to ALWAYS
take advantage of your aisle space,
and NEVER show the backside of your furniture to the aisle side, which looks like is something you did.
Put furniture items,
Back to back,
With one piece facing the aisle,
And another piece facing inside your booth.
Is your booth at
Queen of Hearts?
GOOD LUCK!!.
Well thank you so much for your advice! I tried to cami the back but can see what you mean about showing the back. I am at Out of the Cedar Chest.
Beautiful
Thank you!
You have a really nice booth
Thank you! ❤️
Your booth is so cute. Congrats on your "profit"... ! I think that is a great start. I have a small booth and consider it a fun hobby. Love your videos!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Congrats on a successful 1st month! Please give us monthly up-dates for your first 6 months!
I am planning on it! Thanks for watching!
Well is seems like we are both on the right track! 🤣.
