I got tired of paying booth rent having to go there all the time to restock, clean, items going missing it was a lot of work so I purchased a 37 foot travel trailer gutted it out remodeled it made my little resale shop inside its awesome i can go out my front door and open my shop for business or i can take it wherever i want and set up , i sell a lot of vintage , farmhouse , chippy, old rustic in my area im in red oak tx about 30 minutes from Dallas tx , i also sell a lot on Facebook market place , people in my area like the old cool stuff the rustier the better, i don't overdo it on seasonal items because i find im stuck with a lot of it when its over
I know right where Red Oak is! Lived in Allen for 11 years :) I love your idea and am investigating a pop up idea myself. Way to be creative and run your business the way that works for you!
This video was so perfect to guide me! Thank you! Thank you! Aug.2, 2024 I started my first antique booth in Springhill, Florida. It is in a place called RMB's Arts and Antiques. Nice owners and 140 vendors! I am renting a very tiny space way in the back to get started but your video helps me formulate what to better place per month and what to save for other times of the year!!! ❤😊Trish
Thank you for sharing! This is such valuable information. You are the first RUclips channel that I started watching last year that talks about vintage retail booths. It put a seed in my head and now I have a booth at a local antique mall! I kind of mentioned to the owner that I probably needed to pull a few things out to add more seasonal stuff in. "His comment was, why not just leave it there an sell it all?" Obviously we can only have as many items as our booth will hold without it being crammed in there. LOL This gives me the reminder that it is a good idea to pull items that are more spring/summerish so I can add more fall items. Thank you for the inspiration!
Such a great video!!! It's almost like you have a direct link into my brain and you come out with videos that are about things I have been thinking about. I have been trying to figure out when to go full bore in spring and summer and what to look for while I'm out and about. Thank you so much for your videos!!!
I am setting up a house museum and this video was brilliant for my needs. It’s going to be a virtual museum and it will be connected to a RUclips channel. I of course want people to keep coming back and I am a designer myself and love to do vignettes, so that’s how I’ll change the look of the museum through seasonal vignettes of items that are in this home. Thanks for such great ideas. I love when there’s a plan.
Thank you so much for this valuable information. I am into a couple of months of having an antique booth. I found your channel by accident and have been watching you ever since. You have such great information for beginners like me!
My booth is calledSeasons and I follow this type of plan every year. I usually stage my booth 2 -3 months out so I bring in fall and Halloween in August and Christmas in October. I actually sell more Christmas in October than in December. My booths are ready for Easter now and I’ve already sold several pieces.
That’s great! And yes, back in Dallas I had my Christmas out by October 1, but up here in NW Arkansas I’ve found that’s too soon, people don’t buy until November. So it can be a bit different in different markets-that’s great you have learned your own market so we’ll!
Excellent information! I found your channel yesterday and have already watched ten of your videos while working on some projects. Thank you so much for sharing such terrific insights 🌷
Jan and feb sales at my booth were amazing and beat out all my prior month's sales. I immediately right after christmas I get my valentines and easter items out.
Brilliant videos Melanie! Love them! Especially this one! So informative…. We’re in the UK and don’t have the stores you mention (we need Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree!) but everything else you’re saying about your booth is the same for us on our stall. We’ve taken on so much advice from you and its working…. Thank you 😊
I just took a few happy spring items to my booth today. I have some seasonal holiday there and I found 2 vintage wedding toppers for cakes. I love decorating my booth as I would decorate my house for the season only on a higher level. It's fun. Love your tips.
@@LostFoundDecor you paint...give them a new hair color. If I were younger I would collect toppers, as is I have Too many. Blue sky houses and artesania riconada animals are my new passions
What an incredible tutorial for someone like myself who has been searching and searching for an easy but meaty how to guide! Thank you. I'll be checking out the rest of your videos.
I love your ideas. I have had good success in my booth trying to follow these same ideas. Having you put in monthly planning will help with my purchases. Thank you
Loved this info so much. Thank you. I don’t have a booth yet, but I do sell on eBay, so I’m not new to selling. I have done some vintage markets over the years. The thing I have a hard time with is starting a booth from scratch. I would LOVE to see a video on how to go about setting up a booth. Just some ideas on different ways to go about it. It overwhelms me.
I mean staging it. I have my inventory already. But, how to go about making a beautiful staged booth with your inventory from scratch. Ideas on setting it up start to finish. Hope this makes sense.
So informative! Thanks for all you do for us! Sometimes we don't get proper accolades for how hard we work; I want to be sure you know you're efforts are appreciated & that your knowledge is taken to heart. Love having the download! : )
What a great video full of ideas and to help formulate a sort of roadmap to follow. Thank you so much! You're right, sometimes you can take the same items with a different presentation, like the red and green books for the holidays.
Thank you for the great info.. I am new to selling in a booth and tend to over think it but I love it and want to make it work. I'm glad I found your channel.
THANK YOU!! The information you provided was very much appreciated!! I started to recently watch you, and I absolutely love your channel. Your advice will definitely help me become a better booth vendor in 2022! Have a beautiful week 😊
I must thank you once again! You mentioned needing a license to sell live plants, which never ever crossed my mind. I have two in my booth right now, so I'm going tomorrow to take them away. (My state does require a license.) Thank you so much for sharing this!
Thanks for this great info. I am thinking about doing a booth and just gathering research right now! It’s great to know this helpful information is out there. Side note: your hair is just beautiful!
l love all your ideas i am planing to start my booth. i have a lot of things maybe to much, this antique mall is having a parking lot sale just for any one so it is my first chance to sell what i have, looking forward to it, thank you for your help.
Hey Tammy! Here's the updated link - lost-and-found.ck.page/92be869f9b (I updated it in the video description as well). Sorry it didn't work the first time!
I sat down a drew up a loose outline for my booth in December. I don't like the over the top themes but I need some sort of inspiration starting point. I like to shop smarter and not harder. I pick way less now than I did in the beginning. I'm sticking more to my aesthetic and those monthly refreshes.
Such great advice and even though I don’t have a booth currently (bought a home and dealing with moving/etc) this is great advice for knowing what/when to begin to transition our home decorations and what to pull out, etc
I LOVE the cabinet behind you!!!! Did you refinish that yourself? It is so my style 😍 Also, I love how every time i watch your videos, you have your hair styled so different! I am not that creative, and my hair is either down, or up in a ponytail. Thank you for the video today!!!! 😊
Hi Jean! That cabinet is one of my favorite things, and my first ever “antique” purchase :) I actually bought it that way, about 13 years ago. I plan on sharing some of my fave pieces here soon, so I’ll show you more. And about the hair 😂😂 it’s kind of in transition! I’m trying a few different things to decide what is working best (and what’s easiest!)
@@LostFoundDecor I look so forward to seeing that video! I love vintage, antique, retro and rustic along with authentic farm pieces! So anything involving any of those styles, i am so excited! As far as hair goes, LOL! I’m just happy when it doesn’t have static in it! It makes me look like I just either got scared or put my finger in a light socket!!! Ah…fun styles😂
I don't have an antique booth and I probably won't simply due to physical limitations with a bad back, so I'm more of a sit on my rear end type LOL, but I am wanting to start up Facebook Marketplace, Etsy etc. Probably not so much eBay because I do hear an awful lot of negative things from different groups I'm in on Facebook, but would you suggest the same seasonal cycle for listing items online?
My spouse got a booth at a flea market, we have a lot of Antiques.I get confused on pricing things at a flea market, I price a lot lower than online prices but this is a learning experience for us.Its a small town , but yet we would like to come out ahead.
Are others at your location selling more valuable antiques? Or more flea market type items? Unfortunately, if you’re location is attracting mostly flea market shoppers, it is hard to get that higher price. I’ve been in that situation before! Would you consider trying to sell some of your higher end items online?
What wonderful tips. I try to use some of your tips to change out my décor at home. So when I'm thrifting in March I'm looking for items to display in April and May.
I love this video Melanie! ❤️ This break down was so much needed in our community! Its given me so many ideas to prepare for each season. Thank you so much, you nailed it as usual my friend!!!

Or knowing when to pass. Congrats again on passing 10K subscribers, this thoughtful advice is one of the reasons why you are doing well..
I have about 30 old piano keys, with their redwood key arms on them. I am trying to figure out how to merchandise them.
