Great tips. You are so right about the sweet spot. I’ve also found sometimes if you price something too low it won’t sell. People psychologically think the item is no good, so if I raise the price it moves. Fun crazy business!
I painted my booth light green the color of money. My first month I made over $400 after booth rent and it's the slow time. One other thing you need to like what you sell. Sometimes it hard selling something you really like but I still get a rush when I go to my booth and see something has sold. Currently working on 3rd month. You were so right about your tips. Nice to know I'm doing it right.
Your booth is awesome. .absolutely beautiful...wonderful tips...I tell my daughter always wash glassware!!! So many people don't...thanks again for tips
Thanks for the tips. I am in my third month at my booth. I love it!! It has blown my mind how well it has done. I do a lot of the things you talk about. But I could do more. Thank you.
Also regarding washing dishes one thing I saw a vendor do that I thought was a great idea was to pair together teacups and saucers but then to finish it off with a ribbon. It just made it look so cohesive and like you were getting a brand new item even though they were vintage. And I saw other vendors pairing items together and then tying it off with a ribbon and again just thought that was a great idea.
Totally agree. When I go to our local shop, some booths are kind of trashed. They are unkempt and I walk on by. I shop the ones that are neat and orderly. I try and remember if I end up going on Saturday afternoon that it's been busy and maybe a lot has been sold. You can tell the booths that are well attended. One of my biggest gripes is when items aren't priced. They can't sell what's not priced. Your booths are beautifully done!!! Too bad I am so so far away!!
Oh I agree about the booth that have items that are not priced. It's crazy because I've passed up so many things that I wanted to buy but because they didn't have a price tag on them I left them.
0:12 Hello, I've been trying to find someone to show how to stage. Thank you, do much! Love love the ladder the Center Colums and window frames ,I think you said you were going to find a Chandler to hang.❤ Anyway bravo 👏 🎉 I will be keeping my eye on you. You inspire me to go up and out. "Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change" I believe this saying says it all. Thank you Sherri S.
I love your ideas. I am also from Wisconsin and have a booth. We are doing well and looking to expand (again). Thanks for the tips. I can definitely incorporate adding more bigs to mix with the smalls.
Thank you for your tips, today! I find pricing the hardest part. I sold decoupaged Mason Jars, hand painted, sealed, distressed. I realized I sold them too cheaply for the amount of time/effort they took as they flew off the shelves! It was great, but obviously too inexpensive for all the work put in. Appreciate your suggestions & what you’ve learned
This has been soooo incredibly helpful!!! I have a shop that wants to sell my pottery and I haven’t even seen the spaces yet. I was there several years ago but I don’t remember it well. Thank you soo much.
Great information! You mentioned cranberry fest in Eagle River, I wish you would do Cranfest in Warren WI! My brother in law used to own Eagle River Inn and still own motels and cabins on the lake in Eagle River. We were just there boating on the chain of lakes over the 4th. Just absolutely gorgeous and so much fun! I didn't know there was a Cranberry fest in Eagle River. Would love to go there.
I tried cranberryfest in Warrens and I didn’t enjoy the experience so I don’t think I’d go back. So many vendors! You should go to the Eagle River Cranberryfest…it’s awesome!!
Yes! I just got a 1940s Drexel Mahogany China Cabinet for $15!! If it was just wiped down and pledge it probably would have moved sooner because the shelves looked faded but it was just dust! I took the doors off (not selling it because it will come home at some point!) and moved it to my first booth and it has elevated my items so much!
Hey Sonnet! I recently discovered you and have been binging all your videos. I've floundered a while in my craft "business." Doing a few shows a year, started an Etsy store, then left it. Someone told me about a lady she knows who runs booth business! I'm going to check her out. Loved this video! Very helpful! Thank you ❤
Thank you for becoming a part of my RUclips family Vicki! There are definitely ups and down in this type of business, but I have found that consistency is key. Eventually things will begin to look up! :)
I went to an antique mall yesterday and one of the things that I definitely saw as a problem for a lot of vendors is putting small items on the very bottom. For a lot of people like myself trying to reach those small items on the bottom is very difficult. I think it would be much better to put the larger items on the bottom and the smaller items on the top.
Wow, I’m SO excited that this video popped up on my feed. I saw someone say Wisconsin and then you mentioned New London and my ears totally perked up. Reading the comments, I see you’re at Ye Old Goat. Favorite place!!! I always tell the person checking out how talented the vendors are there. Anyone seeing this comment, be sure to check out Ye Old Goat in Appleton, Wisconsin. You won’t be disappointed. I’m not a vendor or anything; just an excited shopper. Where are your other booths Sonnet?
as always--great content :)...when setting up my booth i try to style my vignettes like they were a room in my home...that gives customers an idea of what the items might look like in their own home/ space...it also makes it easier for people to see the items i have when they're displayed this way rather than in a flat, cluttered mass...thanks for sharing your tips and look forward to your next video...make it a great week :)
Great tips! I attend Craft Bazaars as a vendor. I decorate my booth with string lighting and lanterns and it does draw attention to your booth! Overall great suggestions! Thanks
TY❤M for ALL of your wonderful advice. Im new to the vendor world and Im very nervous. Its only because my customers have pushed me to take this very big step. So, with that being said, I could use and will welcome any and all advice that you can offer me. Happy 4th of July. PS: please keep the videos coming.
Thank you so much for such great video you put together I have thought about maybe doing something like that I have so much clutter at my house because I’m doing a RUclips channel I need to start clearing stuff out. So you’re giving me a lot of awesome ideas and tips before I even think about doing this I need to make sure I have enough to open one up and have people want to walk into my booth. Making sure I have enough big items to begin with never thought about it thank you
It looks like you have a chalkboard wall behind the booth you have -I can't believe you are not using it to make your booth pop. If it is a chalkboard wall maybe find an artist that can colorfully write your business name on it and find some kind of promotional words to help set your booth apart from others. I would utilize that board.(also I would use chalk instead of the chalk markers -the markers don't seem to come off as well)
“Make a killing” what are we talking about here? A few hundred or a few thousand or what? Thanks! Absolutely stunning shop too! So unique and beautiful!
I asked about doing a booth at my closest antique mall and they said that it's a year waiting list to even get in the door. However it seemed to me that there was some empty spaces but maybe somebody was due to come into those empty spaces.
Sounds great I will definitely take note. But just a hint for you No. 1 - look at the camera and it will mean you are looking at the audience. Looking at the screen means you are looking in another direction.
So many great tips… I can’t pick a favorite! I love the way you’ve styled your booth! 😍 Do you have an idea of how many items you like your both to have? Like, let’s say for a 10x10 booth you want X amount of smalls and x amount of big pieces.
Thank you!! I honestly haven’t broken it down that far but I just sold 2 large pieces in one of my booths and will be doing a major overhaul on that booth. I’ll try to see if I have a method to my madness! 🤣
Hello! Whay do you think about plants in a booth? It's the main reason I need a booth. I'm excited to start the treasure hunt for other items to add. I feel like I need to have a lot more things stocked up before I start paying for a lease.
Thanks for the great info Sonnet. Just curious regarding the cost of the booth by you. There’s an antique mall near me but it is $200 per month for Friday, Saturday and Sundays only. I walked through a few times and it wasn’t too busy. The next nearest one is 45 minutes away. Wondering if it is worth it.
That price seems high for only being open 3 days a week! I honestly don’t know the demographics of your area either. This double booth is $230/month and they are open 6 days a week. Location is key too!
I am attending a trashy fleamarket a few times a year. it seems as if all the classy sellers don't come back. The trashy ones do. I can't find a better location near my area. I have an outside table there once a month. Your speaking of indoor set ups.
Sonnet, I've loving what you do and how you do it! Your booths are beautiful. This is my first time here, and I can tell that YOU are gifted in many ways. I have wasted so much time trying to get instructions and advice on opening a vendor booth. First of all, there are few options that are located anywhere near me. Lots of junk at flea markets, and I just don't like the atmosphere. There is one marketplace with nice indoor vendor space at a location that is open every day, but that requires more time than I have and is not close to where I live. Then there are periodic festivals that charge a fortune for a booth. It's also been difficult to find out what the legal requirements are for vendors. What sort of licenses or other documents are required? What about taxes? When I found YOUR video, I thought, "THIS woman needs to publish a manual!" You have such a good way of giving advice on how to set up a booth, and I'm sure you would also be great at the other instructions I'm having a difficult time finding. Everything I "click" on leads me to someone who is either advertising or is giving instructions for a different state than mine. Do you have any interest in putting together an E-book? If you do and need help editing, I'd love to join you. Regardless, I'm sure you could help potential vendors on a wide range of subjects. Thanks so much for your good advice!
My booth is wet deep & 4 ft wide. So all I can do are smells. I have no choice. I have a very tall curio cabinet & I can go up and layer in height, I also have a really fun wire shelving until that’s antique that gives me a ton of space for all my smells. I can fit over 120 - 150 items. I would love to have a larger space because I have tons of furniture, chairs, mirrors, lamps, etc. unfortunately I’m not allowed to add lighting. So any options for a small booth would be great.
Will you be selling it?? Will you be using it? I’ve been loving all shades of blue. The good thing is you can always paint it again if you want to change it!
I don't understand why people sell dirty stuff even online. I won't buy dirty items. Your booth is beautiful. Even though it's different they all coordinated.
The only caveat that I would say for the smalls is if you are in a mall that has display cases for a booth and not a regular Booth space. Those spaces are designed for only smalls.
So one thing I saw regarding the number of items was either too few items in a booth or too many items in a booth that just made it overcrowded. Or a booth that was impossible to walk into. Or on the flip side of that a booth that forced you to walk into it to see what was there. Not good things.
This is great info, but visuals of what you're talking about would be so helpful. Some things you're saying, I can't imagine on my own.
I’ve been binge watching your videos and love them all! This one helps me so much since I’m on a waitlist for a vendor booth. Thank you!
Even if you don't have a vendor booth, these tips work well with home decor as well!😉
I agree!! Thank you for watching!! 🤗
Very informative video. If I pass by a booth that's clutter or messy I just walk on. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks!! You too! 🤗
Your booth is awesome. .absolutely beautiful...wonderful tips...I tell my daughter always wash glassware!!!
So many people don't...thanks again for tips
Thank you 🤗 and yes it’s amazing that some vendors just don’t do the simplest things to make their booths better!!
Thanks for the tips. I am in my third month at my booth. I love it!! It has blown my mind how well it has done. I do a lot of the things you talk about. But I could do more. Thank you.
Awesome! I love hearing success stories! Good luck on continued success!! 🤗
Also regarding washing dishes one thing I saw a vendor do that I thought was a great idea was to pair together teacups and saucers but then to finish it off with a ribbon. Thanks for the great suggestions, just starting out in the vendor world !!!!
Thanks for sharing. We have rented our first booth as of 2024. Great information, and thank you for sharing. 🙂
Your accent sounds like my family in Minnesota. I love it. Love it. We just opened a booth and appreciate the good tips.
Great suggestions! Your booth looks great, I’d love to see the other two.
I will definitely be showing my other booths since I’m doing some major changes in all of them!! Thank you! 🤗
Totally agree. When I go to our local shop, some booths are kind of trashed. They are unkempt and I walk on by. I shop the ones that are neat and orderly. j am still learning you are so helpful on starting a booth thank you,

I am in the process of moving into a bigger booth…These tips were very helpful… thanks
Great advice, I love your booth!
Thank you!! 🤗❤️
I love your ideas. I am also from Wisconsin and have a booth. We are doing well and looking to expand (again). Thanks for the tips. I can definitely incorporate adding more bigs to mix with the smalls.

I actually am taking notes on this simply for my own home decor! These were excellent advice, every single one!
Thank you for your video. I learned a lot from you.

Will you please share with us how you make your barn quilts? Thank you.
I am about to do my first pop-up shop event and I’m really excited. Thanks for all the tips. I will definitely use.
What is a pop-up shop?
@@KMF3 a pop-up shop event is somewhere where you put a table and sell your product with other vendors
@@TeenaGonzalez-id7tw oh so do you mean like an arts and crafts fair
@@KMF3 yes you can do arts and craft whatever product you make you can sell at a pop-up shop event
Thank you. This has really been some good advice. I will definitely be doing this
Thank you for watching!! 🤗❤️
Do you have a video of you setting up? Could you do a setup with me video please? Let us watch you setting the stage in a time lapse video.
Your inspiring for others to get out there and give vendor booths a whirl!! Thanks for the tips!!
Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. I can't wait to watch your videos.
Great advice- I agree with everything you said- although I'm guilty of a couple of the mistakes. I will correct them- thanks for reminding me!!
Beautiful booth! Love the no-go tips.
Good info!! Thanks Sonnet.
I'm a beginner and looking to work my 1st pop up shop this year. Your tips were extremely helpful!....thanks for everything.
I really appreciate all of these tips...I'm at the beginning stage, where I'm painting furniture and looking at different stores for a vendor booth.
This has been soooo incredibly helpful!!! I have a shop that wants to sell my pottery and I haven’t even seen the spaces yet. I was there several years ago but I don’t remember it well. Thank you soo much.
Thank you SO much! I’m new at this and researching vendor booth costs and locations.
Great tips! Photos or videos of the earlier tips would be helpful too. :)
Thank you so much Sonnet for the great advice.

I love your ladder shelves! Do you show how you make it?😘 and your barn stars is something I have been wanting to make!?..videos?😂
Thank you! 🤗 I had those built before RUclips so I don’t have a video of how I built it. Great idea on the stars. A future video!

Sonnet i love this that you shared it. I am just starting my first booth in Aug. Do you have the list you were using somewhere printable?
Your booth is AMAZINGGGGG
Got a lot of great tips. Thankyou

Great tips! I attend Craft Bazaars as a vendor. I decorate my booth with string lighting and lanterns and it does draw attention to your booth! Overall great suggestions! Thanks
Thank you! 🤗
What kind of lanterns? Could you please post a link to one.
Loved your video❤
Great video

You’re going to do great!!! Especially if you have customers who are pushing you to do it!! 🤗

I love Antique Up in Stevens Point. I have actuality considered getting a booth there. I live in Wausau. Would love to talk with you sometime
Do y’all make those beautiful colorful signs?! If so can you show us how? I am in love with them!!
Yes I do make the barn quilts! I do plan on featuring them in a future video! Thank you!! 🤗❤️

Beautiful booths
Thank you!! 🤗❤️
I would love to have seen examples, whether it be photos or videos for your tips. Goid ideas.
When you say you did shows, what types of shows were they? 😊
What is keeping your pergala from falling down if someone bumps it with a cart or other thing?
I asked about doing a booth at my closest antique mall and they said that it's a year waiting list to even get in the door. However it seemed to me that there was some empty spaces but maybe somebody was due to come into those empty spaces.
Enjoyed your video. X
Thank you for watching!! 🤗
Is there a ratio of smalls, anchor pieces, etc that I should follow for my vendor booth?
Great advice 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for watching!! 🤗
Sounds great I will definitely take note. But just a hint for you No. 1 - look at the camera and it will mean you are looking at the audience. Looking at the screen means you are looking in another direction.
So many great tips… I can’t pick a favorite! I love the way you’ve styled your booth! 😍
Do you have an idea of how many items you like your both to have? Like, let’s say for a 10x10 booth you want X amount of smalls and x amount of big pieces.

I have a question, if you want to decorate a vending booth... how do you trust that nothing will get stolen?
I am attending a trashy fleamarket a few times a year. it seems as if all the classy sellers don't come back. The trashy ones do. I can't find a better location near my area. I have an outside table there once a month. Your speaking of indoor set ups.
#5 mistake is key to a successful booth and great earnings 😊
You have such a good way of giving advice on how to set up a booth, and I'm sure you would also be great at the other instructions I'm having a difficult time finding. Everything I "click" on leads me to someone who is either advertising or is giving instructions for a different state than mine. Do you have any interest in putting together an E-book? Man, I know this comment is like crazy late lol.. but what do you mean when you say you were doing shows exactly?? Like live sales? Thanks 👍
also I wanted to join your community club but cant find the link?
Where are you located? I'm in Wisconsin.
I want to know how you made that large white piece?!?!?!?!?
I e come across a small sized hutch that isn’t real wood. What color would u suggest?
Will you be selling it?? Will you be using it? I’ve been loving all shades of blue. The good thing is you can always paint it again if you want to change it!
How do you find stores that let vendors rent a booth in their store?
I don't understand why people sell dirty stuff even online. I won't buy dirty items. Your booth is beautiful. Even though it's different they all coordinated.

Does anyone have ideas for me when I don't have electricity in my booth only mall lighting
The only caveat that I would say for the smalls is if you are in a mall that has display cases for a booth and not a regular Booth space. Those spaces are designed for only smalls.
