Hey Melanie. You may talk about this in your online classes, but I think it would be interesting to talk about insurance, how to prevent thief, and what to do when items are broken or missing. "Business tips to help you succeed with your Booth." I enjoyed your booth selling tips.
Such GREAT info. I'm about to open an entire 3000 sq ft antique store, while simultaneously working on remodeling/opening a full antique mall (yes, mall!) attached to my 130 year old antique store! I'm exhausted but also excited beyond belief!!!
For mother's day, I did a booth mark down. The store has been slow so I figured, give it a go. Totally agree with you "rearrange items". I have sold things by giving a new home.
@@LostFoundDecor not going to be that girl. The good part is a few other vendors are also running a percentage off. I started a thing. I love your advice and videos. Happy mother's day.
Great tips! One more that we have found helpful… when posting pieces of furniture, give the dimensions if possible. Many times someone will comment asking for the size of a particular piece. Did you give that tip and I missed it?🤷🏻♀️
Your videos are so helpful. As a newbie opening our first booth this weekend, I found this very timely and a God Send. You are right about the cluttered look and how so many booths are just plain overwhelming. My design aesthetic is eclectic but it has to make sense, like using colors to harmonize different eras of objects etc.. in an effort to “fill the booth” I felt like I was losing that eye catching aesthetic and the timing on your tips here were invaluable. I will be editing our final load! With a 2 hour journey to our space, we need to be strategic in what goes and what waits for another day. Thanks Melanie! 😊
@@lourinedavis121 Yes I agree! I binge watched her videos related to the topic when this channel popped up in my feed a few months back. Really helpful common sense advice that I think we all need to be reminded of now and then. Thank you Lourine!
As always you share such practical advice. It’s always good to see good people helping others to have the tools they need to improve their likelihood of success. Thank you.
All your suggestions are great! I do all of them except the social media live; our mall encourages us to do that on their FB page but I haven't done it. Maybe I can do a short video of my space. Thanks for the tips! One thing I like to do is remove anything that doesn't sell after a few months and bring it back later in the year. Staging something in a new grouping has been a big boost for me. I love to add little props such as baby shoes, pearl necklace, vintage purses, or old pictures in antique frames. Have a happy Mother's Day!
I only just found you & this video is such a blessing in my life that I subscribed. Can't wait to watch more of your content! From Lancaster County, PA.
I wanted to thank you so much for your videos, they were invaluable in my planning the arrangements of my very first antique booth, which I moved into 2 days ago and looks pretty nice if I may say so, since I used florals, greenery and vignettes like you showed! I have been a picker and an online seller since the late 90s, trying to go full-time and hoping the booth will be a way to sell the items not best sold online. I used my bedroom to test out different groupings and florals, since I was a total newbie on presenting the items IRL. I priced the florals and greenery so people could buy it, did some DIY separating and floral taping from Michaels 50% offs to try it. As you said, a booth is a good way to open up doors, and I LOVE flowers so if I could sell some, that would be a dream. 100% thanks to you that it looks so nice, Thanks again for taking the time!🌻
Hi Melanie! Not sure how I stumbled upon your videos but I also have a booth in NWA. I’ve only had it for a couple months but have been selling vintage online for over a year. Your tips have been super inspiring and I am doing a complete overhaul tomorrow using your color and them advice.
Great ideas...I will definitely be going in first of week and will be regrouping, decluttering, cleaning, restaging furniture to let it shine and will just be marking a FEW items down. My sales (and store I think) have slowed last two weeks of April and going now into May, so maybe this will get it moving again...hopeful :) I only have a small booth (6x3), so it is hard to restage furniture but will do my best. Thanks for the insights...love from Susan in Florida.
April was slow for me too--lots going on in the world globally, and also people are finishing up school and thinking about graduations, etc. Hang in there!
My goodness!! I love your insights. I just found your channel a couple days ago. I completely re-staged my booth. It looks amazing. I really want to take the boot camp. But I have to wait just a bit.
Hint # 9 Please check your merchandise for price tags. Nothing is more frustrating than finding something I love but don’t know its price. In an antique mall, I’m not going to go to the front desk and ask. You’ve just lost a sale.

It really helps to have an Etsy store because I can constantly be interchanging inventory between the 2 and things look fresh.
Absolutely! Multiple revenue and opportunity streams are awesome 👏👏

It's not a terrible thing if you do it like once or twice a year, but you know the booths that constantly run a sale? Yeah, you don't wanna be that!

You're so welcome Tami! It is easy to lose sight of having a cohesive look, so great job in stepping back and giving a tad bit of extra thought to it.
Tami,
If you haven’t had an opportunity to do so, there are some many helpful videos with great advice.

Good infor ty!!
Just a quick question. How do I make my booth booth "smell pretty" without being off putting?
I would use some good cleaners, maybe just to have it smell fresh. Also spray some Febreeze? Pick a neutral, clean scent
