Absolutely STUNNING!! You are an amazing teacher and storyteller! I really appreciate your respect for the culture. So happy I found your channel. You allow the process to actually be joyful. Thank you!
Omg I've only been following you for abt 4 days . You have helped me so much the way you make your quilts. It's so much faster and easier doing it your way. I've still got a quilt top from 2 years ago it's to big for me to put it together. Your way is brilliant thank you so much for changing the way I now will be making my quilts. ❤ Thank you Thank you so so much.xx
I love this quilt for so many reasons! The Aboriginal fabrics are fantastic, and your quilting is very beautiful. Also, your method of doing quilt-as-you-go is the only one I’ve ever been able to understand clearly. Thanks so much!
Imogene, you have just made my Sunday morning here in AUZ thanks so much for this comment it means sooo much more to know my efforts are not being wasted I take my time to plan everything so that its inclusive and if 1 person is happy, I'm happy with it so thanks again.
When I was in Australia last, I also bought some aboriginal fabric, which I've been saving. Because I didn't want to cut it up into little pieces. I love what you did to save the beautiful prints. Thank you again for all your videos ❤ from 🇨🇦
Your prints are so pretty! Love Aboriginal fabrics. If I wasn’t so old I’d have more! Love listening to you and seeing your work. So glad I found your channel.
Very nice quilt but just a friendly suggestion cut the strip at 3 “ instead to get the 1/4” seam allowance very beautiful fabric ❤ your videos make me happy you are so cheerful ❤
Thank you again and your choice of fabric is stunning . I admire you ,how you can make a quiet big quilt in a so small space for me I struggle to make a very big one in my house on a table, well done and it is really an art work
Such a beautiful quilt and fantastic story. When I saw the fabric in your earlier video, I thought that I would love to have it. I’m happy that you kept it large enough to see the print.
Karen these fabrics are beautiful and I love your choice of leaving them large enough to shine and joining them creating the star pattern. Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I’ve got some gorgeous Aboriginal fabrics too, and have been reluctant to cut them up because the prints are telling a story 😳 Love the idea of creating ‘stars’ using large squares that will still show off the beauty of the fabric 😊 Love your quilt 🥰 Thank you so much for sharing this video 👏👏🇬🇧
Love the quilt and I can't wait until I can try it the star quilt on my own it is a very beautiful quilt no I don't have the African quilt material but I have an idea for a musical quilt top
Thanks! Not only was your tutorial informative. I especially liked hearing about the meaning of the prints. This added a lot to the technical part, and I will read more about this. I also want to add I have a small space to work in and saw you doing such wonderful work in a similar small space. This was encouraging for me because a lot of people doing tutorials have a big studio. You showed it can be done! Thank you.
Thank you so much - I love this quilt and I need to whip one out quickly for a gift. I have told myself your not buying anymore patterns. I don’t qualify this as buying a pattern its saying Thank you! Have a super weekend. I need to prioritize better and spend more time in my studio creating.
Wow thank you so much for gift and mostly happy that I have inspired you to spend time being creative, have a look at the videos below where I use scarps or fabric already (IN HOUSE) to make quilts.ruclips.net/video/CGSqwfo7ehs/видео.html ruclips.net/video/W1GOcNdHCVI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ILwEc8wLk1c/видео.html
Really enjoy watchng you create all your different quilts. Karen you have such interesting ideas and time saving techniques. Thank you so much for sharing all this with us. Beautiful beautiful quilts.
Thank you so much, I am new to quilting and have been overwhelmed by the complexity of some designs, and some quilt as you go techniques. I am from Geelong Australia, and will make an Indiginous fabric quilt for myself this year. 😊
Your quilt is beautiful. I have never seen those beautiful prints before. I have many unfinished quilts; because, I do not enjoy the quilting process. Quilting very large quilts on a small home sewing machine is hard and disappointing. Most small home sewing machines just can't do the quilting. Plus, the quilt gets very heavy, quickly, when I am trying to keep it all on the table. I have broken many machine needles (because the quilt slipped off the table); and, I have also cut myself with pins when the quilt slipped. Your method may work for me. You appear to be working in a small area. I live in a single wide manufactured home (a trailer).
Yes I am in a camper also this was the easiest way of working in a small area to get the quilts completed the tow method is very simple and it works, if you do have quilt top already made you have two options 1 just quilt straight line quilting or unpick the the quilt top so that you have 2 or three rows depending on the size Then place onto apiece of batting for the size of the row and quilt as suggested In the video this will eliminate the bulk, strain and stress Do let me know how you get on Have a look at my other quilt as you to give you further ideas
I have seen so many of your lovely easy to follow original quilts and bought a few of your patterns recently. I'm always in search of fabric that tells a story. When I saw this video I knew this has to be in my quilt library stash. Quilts do tell a story but the meaning behind each fabric piece made this more interesting. Today, I bought many selections of this Aboriginal fabric to make your quilt. Excited to make this pattern. Keep smiling as that is what first caught my attention to your channel, you are so cheerful.
wow thank you for such beautiful feedback, I'm SOOO happy that I made you happy and pleased with my content. you brough me joy all the way in Australia thank you once again and for the purchases and subscribing.
Weird how everyone is different! 🤗 I like to take my time when I make quilts. I can take months to make one. But it's alright like that I can watch more video tutorials because you make lots of pretty things!
Very creative lady. I also have a collection of aboriginal prints too lovely to cut. Thankyou for showing how best to use them. Elderly farmer West Gippsland

I’ve never knew Aborigines are Australians. I love this and going to research them. I didn’t watch you’re whole video yet. Is this their type of fabric colors? Honestly I thought the fabric kind of looks African. I love the bright colors! Thanks for sharing! I love learning new stuff!
Beautiful prints! The stories must be interesting! Optical illusion, perfect how long did you practice on your quilting skills? Such a beautiful job done on a regular machine!

Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice quilt but just a friendly suggestion cut the strip at 3 “ instead to get the 1/4” seam allowance very beautiful fabric ❤ your videos make me happy you are so cheerful ❤
I agree. I would be very uncomfortable sewing on the edge, leaving no seam allowance.
yes good tip thank you
go for it
I was sitting here thinking that a 3" strip would give you a decent seam allowance.
Thank you again and your choice of fabric is stunning . I admire you ,how you can make a quiet big quilt in a so small space for me I struggle to make a very big one in my house on a table, well done and it is really an art work
thank you so much yes i agree it is art work
I like this pattern so much! Thank you.
You’re welcome 😊
Such a beautiful quilt and fantastic story. When I saw the fabric in your earlier video, I thought that I would love to have it. I’m happy that you kept it large enough to see the print.
yes, agree to cut would have been a waste and loose the value of the story in the prints.
Absolutely Beautiful ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Karen these fabrics are beautiful and I love your choice of leaving them large enough to shine and joining them creating the star pattern. Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
