Tracy, you always make it look so easy! When I grow up (I'm 71 years old) I want to be just like you!! Thank you for all your inspiration!! Can't wait to see what you"re up to next!!
Patricia, I’m also 71 and I watch all these ladies jump in and try all these different techniques and I wonder why I’ve hoarded all these fabrics for so long. I keep it all organized and safe but it won’t be anything unless I cut into it.
Well girl you’ve done it again! What a beauty 😊. Thank you again for teaching and guiding me through my quilting journey. You’re the best! Coffee ☕️ coming your way.
I love that you are okay using Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabrics and even Walmart fabric. Some quilters act like you can’t use anything but premium quilting fabric from a Quilt Shop. I love love love your videos! I’ve been quilting for several years but I always learn something from you. And, I love this quilt 🌈❤
Awe..thank you so much❣️🌈 I never leave a fabric behind that I love...LOL🤣 I don't care where I find it...I feel like quilters get too "boxed in" to designer fabric only and they miss out on all the other beautiful options that are out there❤️
When I have gone into Walmart, which ours, all 4 of them within 70 miles of me, no longer sell fabric. The Hobby Lobby I visited close by; I didn't like their fabric. There was no body to it, and it was not a good quality IMP. And they are closing out their fabric department. I do purchase fabric bundles from Marshall Dry Goods, where you get 102 yards of fabric, in 6-yard cuts, in 17 different colors. It comes to about $2.45 a yard, or so. I am very pleased with the quality of their fabric.
@@homesteaderfiftywmartha603 I spray basted with "505"...My last few quilts were HUGE...so this one was super easy to handle....I didn't even turn my machine to the side on this one. Maybe it stayed together good because of the wool batting too.🤷🏻♀ I had no issues.
A Solvy stabilizer product will dissolve in the first wash. This is a cute quilt, kinda fiddley with all those little hearts, but might be worth it for a special someone 😊 🍼. Thanks for the video
First: the audio improvement really makes your videos easier to watch! Second: the little 'ping' sound when you post a tip really helps to make sure we don't miss anything! And, Third: your method sewing your border corner is really sweet! Thanks so much, Tracy, for everything!
Goodness, you are so great. I love this. What a lot of work went into the planning. Thank you so very much for sharing. I love it. Love it. I think it’s the best thing out on the Internet right now. Beautiful job I can’t thank you enough. 😊❤
Oh my goodness Miss Tracy!! This turned out soooo adorable. The quilting on this one must have taken you a hot minute to complete. Absolutely gorgeous. I really liked the scrappy border explanation…I always struggle on how to add borders and make them fit. Thanks for another terrific pattern. Truly appreciated. Have a marvelous weekend. 🤗
Tracy this was a beautiful quilt and looks some much fun to make. I love that you admit your mistakes. Makes me feel good when I make a mistake. Thanks for being you
Lovely quilt, beautiful quilting, Tracy (I hope I spelled your name correctly, looked all over and Becca spelled it that way.), I always learn something new from your videos.
I love this beautiful quilt! It was a real treat watching you cut, measure, sew, and quilt! This was a great video! I recently put Minky on the back of two Barbie quilts and used the same method to bind them. I used the small duckbills to trim the extra and they worked great, too. Oh, the back (or the other front!) looks magnificent! Your quilting was amazing and so much fun to watch!😄
Beautiful quilt. Another solution when you added final border strip and had to piece since it was too short. You could have ripped out the other border strip and added corner stones with coordinating fat quarter material. However your free motion quilting hid it well.
Thank you for sharing the templates with us all. I love this Boho Rainbow quilt. 🧡 Also, thank you for demonstrating how to achieve the mitred corner when folding the backing over to the front. Great video. Cheers from rural Victoria, Australia 😀👋🇦🇺
Yes. I love it. It is beautiful on both sides. Could you cut your fabric on the bias as wide as you need it? Making all those little hearts will drive me crazy. How long did it take you to make this appliqued design?
OMGosh!!! This is a def on my “make this year” list!!!! Thank you SEW much! I’ve a feeling this will be like “Lays” - won’t be able to make just one!!!! 😉😊
OMG I love this my second Granddaughter will here in September and I have been looking for a quilt and now I have found it and now to find one for her sister this would also make a cute quilt for a rainbow baby or a wall hanging for a rainbow babies room
I am looking on and off your Rainbow video. I just have to keep stopping and take care of my little baby girl, she’s my dog. Need to ask did you try a bright color next to that? I love your colors that you picked out. I was just wondering how a bright yellow would’ve looked mixed in with the colors you picked.
Tracy, this turned out just so darling!!! And your quilting took it over the top!!! The backing was a perfect match and showed off the quilting so beautifully! I recently made a wallhanging and my borders were literally a half inch too short. I just cut an inch and sewed it on. 😅😂 (I think there are too many quilting “rules,” and who made up all those rules, anyway???!!!) A few Qs for you: 1. How big seam allowance did you take when mitering those corners? Is it bc minky stretches so much that it was still a good fit? Wd this work w cotton? 2. Did you use light thread on top and orange on the bottom? If you used light thread for both, can you see it on the back? 3. I’m confused bc I thought you said you wanted it to fray; saying that’s why you didn’t use heat & bond light. But then why did you put fray-check on it bf you washed it? I wd think that wd keep it from fraying. I know you must have a good reason! 🤔😊 TFS! 🌷🌈
Thank you Susan❣️ 1. I used approximately less than a 1/4". Yes this totally works with cotton...Here's a link how to do it with cotton (I show it on a quilt matching game I made) ruclips.net/video/FHObdO47M9s/видео.html 2.I used white thread on both. You really have to be looking for it on the back to see it. It sort of sinks down in to the minky. 3. My experience with the heat n bond is "stiffness"...I didn't want that at all. I love look of a natural fray. I let it fray up while I'm working on it then fray check and wash...best of both worlds for me. If I used heat n bond it would be stiff and not fray at all......LOL🤣 I hope that makes sense...LOL
@@TheSewingChannel Thank you for your answers. Ok, so I think you mean you just want it to fray slightly, and so that’s why you put the fray-check on? I wdnt think it wd fray much at all bf washing.
Yes..I suppose so...If I were keeping it for myself then I would have totally let it fray like my rose garden quilt. There is a bit of maintenance for a few more washes if you would let the fray "go". Since it was a gift ...I let it fray as I worked on it and then fray checked it so that way the recipient won't have to do anything except enjoy it ❤️

The glue wasn't going to hold good enough until I sewed everything on.....and that little bit of stabilizer gave it just enough of the stiffness I wanted❤️

i just found your You Tube demonstration on how to make this quilt. I was talking notes, and at one point, before the 5 Minute mark you mentioned "stiff"...and where you purchased your fabric, but you didn't mention what you put on the back of your fabric to make it stiff... then at the 5 minutes and 35 second mark, you mention "paper" but did not demonstrate what you meant. I think it missed the mark, to not show what product you used to make the fabric behave as you wanted it. I understand your pattern is free, but it would have been great to see exactly what you did to prepare your fabric.
I made the fabric stiff by starching with spray starch. I linked the fusible in the info box for reference❤️ sorry if it was confusing.
Why didn’t you just you the sewline glue pen to stick the hearts on the quilt?
The glue wasn't going to hold good enough until I sewed everything on.....and that little bit of stabilizer gave it just enough of the stiffness I wanted❤️
Just wondering why you did not cut the rainbow strips on the bias?
Not sure. LOL🤣Happy It ended up working out though🎉 I always make a "mock" up(the blue one in video) and the way I cut seemed to work out the best.🌈
