Beautiful
Absolutely brilliant Karen! Just❤watching all❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for this! I never thought about quilting the top before adding the backing. Brilliant! I’m working as a beginner on 7 quilts for Christmas gifts for my older granddaughters. This process makes it looks so much easier.
Thank you for this idea, I’m very new at quilting and I think this is something I can do. No quilting police allowed.❤
Exactly lol any questions reach out
Clever lady! This is lovely.
Truly a beautiful quilt. Very good tutorial. I've never tried quilt as you go before but am anxious to give it a go. Thanks so very much for sharing your talents with us.
Love it, thank you for the instruction on how to do it In 2 halves. That really helps cause I don't have a large table or space to spread out too large of a quilt at one time. I hand quilt so this creates so much less bulk for me to handle while I'm hand sewing. 😊
glad i can help
Love the quilt! And your method of quilting as you go. I’ll definitely watch this again.
Just gorgeous! I've never seen a quilt done quite like that before. Maybe this idea will get me over my fear of doing the quilting myself on my domestic machine. I usually send my quilts to my friends with long arm machines.
Go on try and save yourself some cash
So pretty and looks easy to make this I hope to make thank you 😊
Adorable quilt pattern. ❤ thank you for your wonderful tutorial ❤
Because of your beautiful smile and upbeat personality and beautiful quilts that you make.

Good idea splitting the quilt in half to machine quilt it.....much less to deal with in a domestic machine. Thank you for the video 😊

Very beautiful and totally doable for beginners and experienced alike. Thank you Karen. Blessings.

This kind of QAYG makes so much more sense to me!! I cannot wrap my head around the typical methods...not only that, this backing looks so much better IMO!

Beautiful, easy and something I can try! Thank you ❤
beautiful quilt look forward to seeing more
You are a born teacher! You explain it all so well. I've been quilting for some time but age and arthritic joints have slowed me down on my quilting. This is something I will try! I'm anxious to get back into making quilts! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise!
you are very welcome
❤Very Nice, I've learned alot from you, thank you.
❤👋😊🇦🇺 Queensland, Hi and thank you for sharing with us ❤
Love it. The way you did it makes sense to me and I think I can do it this way. Beautiful quilt love your colors. Thank you
Another beautiful quilt with step by step QAYG instructions! YEAH! Love it Karen💕💕💕🧵
Love this thank you
Your Awesome! Thank you
Love this quilt and I will be making it in the future thanks Karen
The quilt is really nice. Thank you for the quilt as you go method idea.
It’s a great quilt as you go. It breaks it down and simplifies the process. 👏🏻
I like the idea of quilting the top 2 pieces then adding the backing. I have done traditional qayg and they can be beasts to sew. Great pattern too 😊
Cheers Karen
You are very welcome
Yes, I have done one QAYG, and it Was a beast! Especially when I tried doing the prairie points on it! I had to add a border, with 3 layers, then the points, because I had already had all those block by block seams in the way.... I Like Karen's method, and No more prairie points for me!😆
Beautiful and I have been watching your different quilt as you go tutorials . Seems so much easier then the individual squares. To many steps . Yours seems much easier . Planing on using your method.
Do enjoy happy quilting
ROMANTIC QUILT ❤
Love this to be my first one to make, love the stars n the fun of choosing my own materials!! Enjoyed your instructions ! 😊
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful, the instructions were very clear and easy to understand.
Thank you
Absolutely gorgeous you make your videos so inspiring with how you teach. Thank you ❤
You are so welcome!
Beautiful quilt ❤❤
Thanks for the tutorial
No problem!
Oh how I love this way to make quilt I will be trying this one , you are a wonderful teacher . Thank you so very much
You are welcome
Thank you for this Karen. I love the idea of QAYG in rows. I find the traditional method of QAYG a bit tedious with all the sashing. The whole idea is to make it easier but so much sashing takes the fun out of the project, especially on a big quilt.
You are very correct
Cute quilt. Thank you for sharing your process with us.
You are very welcome
I’m so glad to find you. I never made a quilt before, and I want to make one. I’m always scared of making one on my small sewing machine. Thank you so much for encouraging me and making the process easier and more doable.
Looking forward to learning more from you.
I love your quilt top, I will use your pattern to make my first quilt ❤
You are very welcome
Love your initial layout, the unusual colors really are working here, beautiful, I'm trying to learn to be not so particular, this layout proves it works! Love it! Thank you for posting your craft in action!
You are most welcome
Absolutely love this quilt ❤. Great teaching!
Thank you! 😊
Your quilt is beautiful I appreciate your tutorial and am going to make it for my grandaughter your a very good teacher a fresh way of doing this x
Thank you Janet
I love what you did with this project! Don’t know why I had never thought to do a large quilt in two parts - great idea. It would be so much more manageable to stitch with a meander quilting design under the needle of a domestic machine and will give it a try soon! Thank you for sharing your quilting ideas.
I absolutely love this method. Thank you so much for sharing.
You are very welcome
Ive used this method and really like it.
How beautiful ❤️
Your eye is lovely. I will be making this one thanx
Love the use of all the fabrics combined with the white stars! Thank you for sharing from Ohio.
You are very welcome
Thank you for another wonderful quilt idea - so inspiring! Diana. xxx
You are welcome Diana
QAYG is quilting a manageable amount according to your needs. I love this way of doing it in sections and i absolutely love this pattern. Its going on my to do list!
love your quilts you do a great job and the videos tutorials are clear and easy to follow
I very much like your method and thank you so much for helping
You are welcome
This quilt is beautiful! I love the colours and fabrics you chose. They go so well together!
Thank you for sharing. ❤
You are so welcome
It is beautiful, for that size I would take out 9 patch, add 2 stars for corner. That is how it would be for the size in the larger size :) All quilts are beautiful. I am just taking up quilt as you go.
Good idea more stars than nine patch patch I love it when others make the quilt there own well done
Nice like the design
Thank you! Cheers!
Love love love this. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!
I love that quilt!
Can you show how you do the binding on the quilt? I love how you are teaching. I am truly excited and enjoy learning your techniques.
Will do on the next quilt
Thank you very much.
Thanks for watching guys
This is one of the best tutorials I've watched so far, as a newbie it helps to see everything as you go. Do you have videos showing the actual quilting bit if you use a normal sewing machine? Thank you, i really enjoy your videos
Check out this video here ruclips.net/video/_yQQSPXQu40/видео.htmlsi=gqDbIGJqpyJejLhh
Here is another ruclips.net/video/TIqULdw1kd0/видео.htmlsi=SbN-pJseA62pRO9B
Love it
Oooh I will sooooo make this 🤩🤩
You are very welcome
I love this idea! With an even larger quilt could you split it in quarters or thirds? I might try it! Thank you so much!
Yes I have done it here ruclips.net/video/L5FsQpJnoCQ/видео.htmlsi=ScN0Pp2Oqs_5w5sn
Beautiful.
Thank you nlce❤ 37:24
No matter what you call the method this is a beautiful quilt. I have come up with a similar method. Be inventive ladies. Just have fun 😊
Great tip!
Great method for using up scraps and I love this way to quilt as you go! Thanks. What is the brand of iron you are using? Haven't seen one like it before, it's cute.
Thank you . Missed the beginning . Will the life be available in full later so I can catch up on it plz? Thank you again
Yes it will be
Good video...
Thank you
This beautiful period❤
You are very welcome
Hi Karen. Where did you get your pincushion holder from? I like it. Plus I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
Oh at craft festival in Australia
Love the video. Have a question: What is the glue you talk about?
@@jackiethomas9627 it’s a fabric quilting spray glue you ca also get it on line or your quilting store craft fabrics glue is also good but get quilting spray glue
Thank you, I did not know it was my iorn doing that,
lol do you mean beeping took me a minute too lol
Absolutely love your creation
Thanks so much 😊
This is a beautiful quilt.. but a QAYG quilt is done with all 3 layers quilted at the same time so as to never run the full size quilt through the machine . There is sashing and none shashing techniques.. but that's just a beautiful regular quilt because the backing is solid
Thanks for your reply but I politely disagree, QAYG simply means quilt the quilt as you proceed to make the quilt whether in small squares or rows its quilting during the process, try not to get caught up on one method, there are other methods to keep quilting inclusive!
What size of squares are you using?
I think there is a pattern link in the description box
Hopefully I don’t offend you, but this is not a QAYG method. This patchwork looks lovely and really scrappy. It’s super cute. I suggest you change the title of your tutorial.
It is my method as QAYG and I Will not change the title
@@CraftyQuiltingDesigns Oops … irritated? I saw I was not the only one to comment on this. It’s all up to you, but I do think that when you see a chair you’re not likely to call it a table. I just figured you want to attract the right people to your tutorials. But if you’re offended so be it …
@@nicolederoo it’s not about being offended it’s that its my creation my method as QAYG to tell me to change the title is simply wrong there is no right or wrong way to do a QAYG it’s just simply another interpretation
Well ….
This is quilting “in sections “ not quilting as you go. Quilting as you go completely quilts each block and then joins them together with dashing. This is a nice idea but incorrectly labeled.
Sandra in case you didn't notice the quilt as you go you speak of is also quilting in sections, and this too is ...as you say incorrectly labelled. ...thanks for watching.
Not quilt as you go
In your opinion it thanks for commenting
May I suggest that you improve your camera focusing? I was getting quite dizzy with the camera going in and out and side to side. Whew!
No worries I will
Sorry to point out this is not quilt as you go! Quilt as you go is sewing a block with all 3 layers then joining each finished block together using stashing. Sorry if this offends.
This is a variation of the traditional quilt as you go. Karen has simplified the method and sewed it together in panels. Great idea!! If you prefer the other method, by all means sew it that way but isn't Karen's quilt gorgeous??? And it seems to streamline the process making it a bit easier and faster to construct. I say, Bravo❤❤ to Karen for sharing this variation with us!!!😊
It’s kind of QAYG- I did a King size quilt this way and on my home machine it was necessary for the size
@@lindanonnenmann1112 bravo well explained
lol I knew there would be one stop being so restricted in your growth for learning and further knowledge no quilting rule’s exist just other methods to explore not offend pointing out the obvious happy quilting to you judidavieswebb
I have a few books on QAYG, and there are many variations. It just means not quilting the entire quilt at the end. I so appreciate Karen’s and others ideas on how to do it! Thank you, Karen!❤
