Hermes doesn’t appear in the first book, but they basically do the same in the book. The only difference is that they don’t go to the cassino seeking for transport but for food
I wonder what the secret entrance is gonna be??? In the book they just went in through the Underworld's main entrance with a lame excuse for Charon and a bribe. There WAS a secret entrance in the books, the Door of Orpheus, but that was in Central Park in Manhattan. Percy and Nico di Angelo (who can be heard calling for his sister Bianca about 12 and a half minutes into the episode while Grover and Augustus are talking about Pan) used it in The Last Olympian and Nico and his boyfriend Will Solace used it in The Sun and the Star. There's never been any mention of another one anywhere, just the main entrance in LA.
That dream scene was different: in the book version, that took place in the Underworld at the edge of Tartarus and Percy could hear both the thief and that entity speaking. The casino made the memory fuzzy so when he told Annabeth about it, he couldn't remember what the thief had called that guy, just that he didn't think that it was Hades. Annabeth appeared to figure out who that guy actually was at that point, became afraid and insisted that it had to be Hades.
That ending was definitely different than in the books: there they got to Santa Monica with about a day left, not too late for Zeus' deadline. The Neried just gave Percy THREE pearls and a warning not to trust the gifts.
[Spoiler-free: just mythology]. In Greek mythology, Hermes is the god who escorts people to the Underworld. Weird, right? You'd figure it would be the god of death. He's a busy guy, what with killing the occasional giant and being Zeus' wingman and delivering stuff. Zeus even calls him the god who is best with humans in the Iliad. (He also calls Ares his least favorite god. His own son. OUCH). So even though it's different in the show, it makes sense. --That's not a spoiler. I have no clue how he's going to do it
@@unknownunion-u2j i actually liked the new scene with the gold chair. The chemistry between Leah and Walker is so good and i liked what they added to their story.
@@abc.animal5143At about 12 and a half minutes in when Grover and Augustus are talking about Pan you can hear a voice in the background, a little boy, calling out for Bianca.

Not really spoilers considering I'm just confused about how they're going to play this out. This episode has some really major differences to the book. Hermes didn't appear until the second book for example, they used the casino's unlimited credit cards to pay their way to Santa Monica in a regular taxi, time didn't completely run out on them like that and the whole thing about the secret entrance. Oh and of course that dream: in the book version, that took place in the Underworld at the edge of Tartarus and Percy could hear both the thief and that entity speaking. @@WarGrowlmon18 You are talking about characters and relationships that haven't been introduced yet. That's spoilers. I'm sure there are reactors who have read the books whose videos you can discuss this under.
@@WarGrowlmon18 Yes. Those are spoilers. Come on. You can obviously comment anything you want, but it would be nice to let people who aren't familiar with the books learn about the story and characters on their own

Percy struggling to drive in the underground car park is so real

Was kinda hoping to see a little cameo or Easter egg of Nico Di Angelo in the Lotus Hotel.
you can hear Nico shout "Bianca" at around 12:30 in the episode
@@HarperMason-ih3fc I watched it maybe six times, and this is the first time I heard it!
Great episode, i just wish they had the zebra talk
we still have time for it 🤷🏾♀️ same with annabeth being afraid of spiders
