This was the episode I really excited for. This and the Medusa ep. I am a really big fan of Edge and after seeing him act in Vikings, I really wanted to see how he'd portray Ares.
I truly think this show is for book readers and kids. Like, to me this is exceptional, made me giggle and scream and I’m 24. But i KNOW these characters and the story. Its a very different pov than someone who doesn’t. Like I notice the little seeds of whats coming, which is so brilliant. There’s literally hints on this ep of things coming in like s5 of the show (last book).
This is exactly what I was thinking. Its funny watching the difference between book readers and non book readers. There was a reaction video on youtube where the person was complaining they wasted too much time talking about Thalia. He was saying why waste time talking about a character from the past? Focus on the present. He have no idea 🤭
@brianxy3649 9pm for myself when the episodes drop. So it's always dark out. But even in the day if I'm watching something I like to make the room dark as possible. Turn off room lights, close blinds etcetera
In a fully lit room, ok. But even closing one of my two windows I had trouble seeing everything well. I feel like they should've made it slightly more light. Especially since honestly darker lighting does nothing for immersion on my part.
The actor for ares is fantastic indeed, I love who they chose. And yeah the story gains even more pacing from now on, I suppose it's hard at the beginning because things aren't connecting yet And I agree with you about lighting too, this happens a lot on modern shows and it pisses me off(I wish people would stop following game of thrones when not even game of thrones ended up making good decisions...)
As someone with a vision impairment I really hate that within the past 10 years all films and TV shows have had the stacker filter I don't know if it's a more realistic thing for night or what but they don't seem to just do it during the night, it's also to add suspense or to show that the films are getting darker like with Harry Potter for example the films physically got darker to show that the themes were getting darker but I found that really frustrating, I have cortical vision impairment which means that I can't see things far away and I can't see details of stuff very well so I loved watching movies because I got to see things I've close they didn't usually get to see, but nowadays everything is so dark that I miss a lot of what's happening on the screen which is really frustrating and Another reason why I try to watch comedies and other things like that is because those are always much better lit, but I do love this kind of stuff and am frustrated by how hard it is for me to watch, because I already miss a lot of what's going on and then making it even darker makes it worse, It's another reason why I don't really love dark skinned characters in films and movies recently, it has nothing to do with the characters or the persons race or anything about them specifically it just means that because they are so dark and they're in a really dark sitting it's even harder for me to see facial expressions and to know actually what's going on in a scene which is honestly really frustrating And annoying, being visually impaired is different to being blind and there is a spectrum of how much people can see, but for someone like me who can still see a lot I don't think it's fear that they make films so dark that you miss a lot of what's going on even people without a vision impairment, so I think they really need to fix that, I get it if they want to do it for realistic Looks or for darker themes but do they really have to make it so dark that you can't even see what you're supposed to be looking at? Especially when you have darker skin characters on the screen you want to be able to see their facial expressions not just hear their voice, at least that's my opinion, sorry if anything I said was wrong I honestly have nothing against dark skinned people I just think it's hard to see their faces when it's darker on the screen.
@@TrophyReacts lol the camp director Dionysus played by Jason Mantzoukas, it’s a running gag in the books that he almost never calls Percy by the right name (usually Peter Johnson) 😂
Whats a “great” episode? These episodes are loosely based off of chapters of the first book, so the episodes are limited. Like someone on another channel commented that this episode had no excitement. But the chapter this was base off didnt have any mondters
I don’t know, I think these episodes are good overall but it’s definitely rushing through it a bit and I do agree in some way that some of the excitement/ intensity is lost, I don’t think we’ve had a great episode yet personally for sure
@@TrophyReacts I dont know if you read the books so I dont want to spoil anything.I just think flow of the show is limited to the story of the book. These next three episodes will be packed with excitement because its nearing the part of the book where the action picks up. Its unfair to compare that to episode 2, which was more slower because that part of the book was slower. I do agree they feel rush. 8 35 minute episodes just Wasnt enough.
I read the books and I think they should make this 10x more dramatic. Annabeth wants to save Percy but she can't. This should be a big thing! But instead Hephaestus appears and immediately solves it. The drama lasts for about 5 minutes and that's it.
@@erikperhs_wow you really don’t pay attention.. one hes not an evil god and we literally hear his story . The speech she gay obviously meant something to him as he had tears in his eyes and literally said “not everyone wants to be that way either” god ppl don’t listen at all

@@angeljet99I like what they did with the tunnel of love scene. I love the show, the books will always be better and that goes for almost all books turned into movies/shows. I would say that the acting is great for the kids ages.

Grover is actually a lot more utilised in the show than the moves , so for book readers this is an improvement.
If you dont know, Ares is played by Adam Copeland, aka former WWE superstar Edge, his intensity made him perfect for the roll
OH MY GOD! How did I not even recognise 😭that’s so cool, he did a great job
best wrestler actor

He was also in a tv show called Haven. He was really good in that.

Yesss i agree i am 24 too and i am loving it especially after those terrible movies 😭 to me it is a great adaptation

I definitely agree!!
Grover is really playing mind games with Ares and I love it
On the lighting. You are watching it in a fully lit room so. You aren't going to see the darker lit moments
Yeah, I watched it soon in the morning on my TV, no problems with light😅

also me: time to watch joe watch it 🙌🏼
5 TIMES!!!!!

i also think it’s cause.. idk maybe cause he’s in a well lit room . the lighting was fine for me but idk
Percabeth nation lets go
Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus is a great choice, i can't wait to see who plays the other gods throughout the series
I didn't know about the casting before this episode and was very pleasantly surprised that they chose a disabled actor to play him
We will definitely get a new Zeus, since the actor recently died.

Who?!

3:37 he DOES look like dan reynolds lmfao ares about to pull out the microphone and sing believer
The show is not that dark, I think it's because you had too many lights on since you were filming haha
Having the light on makes those darker scenes hard to see but you also need to record your reactions so idk lol

They changed a lot of details/scenes and removed quite a bit. I don’t know what to think about that. 🤨 I was hoping for something better and exciting.
