When I got to this gun while leveling up guns, I noticed how insane it is. Melts people near instantly, by far the easiest gun to level so far, the minibak is also excellent
I like the SA Ultra barrel, a red dot, OLE-V laser, Shark Fin grip and 20 round mag. It plays so fast, and the recoil is perfectly fine at close range.
@@alorem123 Having played a lot of DMZ recently, I will be honest, the gun is good enough that you really don’t need those extra 10 rounds, and the faster reloads will keep you engaging more often. Just grab Scavenger or bring a munitions box so you don’t run out of ammo, unless you’re playing Warzone or DMZ, where finding AR rounds is easier than anything.
This is one of the few guns where I feel the smaller mags shine. It only takes three to four shots to kill someone so going down to 20 isn’t a big deal, and I like the speed boost for really being aggressive.
Haven't played it but maybe they finally realized that 30HP throws the entire weapon balance out of order and decided to change it to something that makes more sense with the damage models they have? Or at least I'm hoping so. It was always weird how pistols would be dominant in Hardcore before, but it was always nice for doing camo challenges.
TAQ 56 may just beat it for me with the right attachments. It excels at everything! Low recoil, fast handling and kills fast with 3-4 shots at short to long range. It's the ultimate versatile gun.

A good player with this thing just rules lobbies man. Insane up close, usable even very far out. I'm always flying to the mp5 if I see people running this and they are good.
When I first unlocked a blueprint to use it, I thought it smacked but was crazy with the recoil. Once I made a nice build to control it I noticed immediately that this thing was a monster.
I’d like to see a comparison between the RPK and the 762, I’ve used both of them with the same attachments and prefer the feel of the RPK, feels more consistent to me!
I literally said this at launch. I've tried the Vel, Taq 56, both kustov forms, FSS hurricane,lachmann 556, almost every assault rifle and smg. I literally said no gun felt better than when I had the 74 u I'm my hand. The Gun goes crazy!

Happy they finally made a AK platform weapon the meta after years of them not being at the top , last time a AK type gun was at the top in my opinion was BO2 with the AN94
It irks me that this gun could really just have been a barrel attachment for the Kastov 545 but they just had to completely defy logic and make it a separate gun which somehow has a higher damage than the 545 despite representing functionally the same gun. It's like they were really trying to pad the number of weapons at launch.

@@jasonfrancese8359 apparently the magfed Bryson shotgun was intended to be a Vepr-12 (RPK-based shotgun) at one point judging by its internal name, it even still retains its magazine well and magazines, but for whatever reason it was changed into magfed Mossberg instead.
I honestly didn't expect this gun to be so dang good. Says a lot that all the other guns are still level 3-5 for me (I'm still new at warzone ok) and my 74u is already at 15 or so
Ak74u feels so good, great ttk up close, and surprisingly accurate basically just vertical recoil. I see why it needed the ADS nerf since it was at smg level.
In the beta this gun was awesome, now playing the full game this gun is still awesome. All the AK platform guns in this game are good. Ak-74 for mp and RPK for dmz.
I'm not sure how many people know this... But your custom load outs can be Renamed by right clicking on the tab. Ex: I can identify which load out I want by calling it 'Ka74/shotty' or 'CQB'. If you haven't done so, it might be a good tip for your content!

Bro the gunsmith system is fucking insane. When they said you can tune guns to fit your playstyle, they fuckin mean it. You can LITERALLY build your own unique weapon. This is a HUGE step up from mw19. I'm a big gun nerd so I'm fanboying out lol.

Could you do a suppressor test pls? I would be really interested to see how much they benefit/hurt your range for example. Would require some testing i know but isn’t it like with the lasers where you have different names in each weapon category but they perform the same.
I like it too but the aug 556 was my favorite the only thing with the ak74u that bugs me is when you put a red dot on it, it seems to dramatically increase the visual recoil

I went from a best of 21 kills to 31 in shoot house the first time I used it, I'm new to online gaming and find it hard to stay on target. With the 74u I think the aim down sight speed and 3 hits to kill made a huge difference for me. I kill them before they can kill me back finally!

Hey brother, I wanted to see if you could throw in a lethal/tactical equipment guide in between the gun guides (mainly because the guns are likely to be tuned alot more). I used to love the Thermite in the previous Modern Warfare, but it doesn't seem to be the same. Plus with slower animations, not sure what's the best setup to run in these slots. As always, thank you for your diligence and research (which we all appreciate!).
IMO you should have chosen a Muzzle that is not just based on vertical recoil. The "new" recoil has clearly much worse side to side bounce. Something you cannot compensate for. So, I would personally look for a Muzzle attachment that includes horizontal recoil control along with vertical. Since the gun isn't a "long range" gun. The vertical recoil isn't as important. Maybe even a suppressor with added damage range and bullet velocity could be a good choice. That would take care of the 7.5% reduction of range. I also find High velocity ammo pretty useful since bullets land quicker on target and less lead needed. Those can be tuned for damage range as well.
At some point do you think you could do an analysis of all the various sniper scopes? I ask because I noticed that the default scope on the MSR has variable zoom, and I was wondering what exactly those zoom levels were.

I personally love running a Run&Gun Loadout with a Weapon Speced for Hip-Fire Accuracy, Recoil Control, and Sprint to Fire Speed. Just thought this would be a great subject to add to your videos. Love Ace's gun guides as well. When it comes to hip fire for those camo challenges I just modify to increase that accuracy and then throw that build away when done.
Even before this video, as soon as I picked this gun up in 6v6 I was like oh yeah, this is the gun. I thought the 762 was really good, then I got the 74u
I know this technically has nothing to do with this video, but I really hope they add the UMP into this. And I hope that it’s not utter garbage like it was in MW2019.
If they are going to nerf it further in the future, I think a fair stat to decrease would be bullet velocity. It would fit in game, as it's sort of an AR/SMG hybrid role, and IRL the short barrel does actually decrease bullet velocity compared to the AK-74
Interestingly, the SA ultra II is slightly longer visually although it reduces velocity so it could be other factors, the Shorttac 330mm is shorter visually despite the fact it says it's 330mm while the SA ultra II state's it's around 220mm.

Late to the party but I think 20 round mags are one of the best attachments to put on this gun since with fast hands it is a quick reload and you can always pick up ammo off everyone else constantly using the 74u, and you get all the other huge benefits too
Honestly, I feel so damn conflicted about this gun. On 1 hand: it is insanely viable in a LOT of situations, especially if you land the Headshots. It heavily reminds me of BO3's KN-44. That thing was an absolute beast. I do enjoy using it for sure. On the other hand: I don't like how it outshines a vast majority of the AR's, SMG's, and even the LMG's. In a game chalk full of 4-6 shot kill guns, this gun kills in 2-4. If more weapons could kill as quickly and deal as much damage as it can, it'd be much less of an extreme outlier.
They need to nerf this thing into the ground. This gun should not have the same close range damage profile as the Kastov 762, otherwise the Kastov 545 should have it as well, since it uses the same caliber. This thing is dominating the multiplayer side atm and it's making a stale meta. I'll be happy with a 545 buff, though.
I finally tried tier 1 early early this morning and was greatly disappointed when I learned the hard way that the Battle Rifles(FTAC Recon used) ARE NOT a 1 shot kill...🤷♂️🤷♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. You will find yourself getting a somewhat consistent 2 shot kill. Important to note I said somewhat consistent 2 shot kill as I was finding myself having to hit enemies with 3 shots more times than I feel shouldve been necessary. (I mean honestly.... you're able to kill enemies in 2 shots in most cases requiring no more than 3 as long as you're within your weapons effective range
Ace, Is it possible that you miscalculated the time to kill with headshots? A 3-shot kill take 184 ms and you state a 2-shot kill takes 92ms. I think that should be 123ms ((184/3)x2)

Luca bandera scope (Lockwood mk2 rank 7) is the best sniper scope in the game, check it out Ace. Also the DS farsight is a runner up.

I tried to make the fastest rpk class possible but it's still to slow for my liking so I stick with the 762

Edit: Its dumb the 74U can 3 shot to the chest but the 545 can't when they use the same ammunition.

I know this technically has nothing to do with this video, but I really hope they add the UMP into this. And I hope that it’s not utter garbage like it was in MW2019.
Played with it the 1st time last night and came to the same conclusion...however, I've yet to find a gun I haven't liked in this game
If they are going to nerf it further in the future, I think a fair stat to decrease would be bullet velocity. It would fit in game, as it's sort of an AR/SMG hybrid role, and IRL the short barrel does actually decrease bullet velocity compared to the AK-74

Interestingly, the SA ultra II is slightly longer visually although it reduces velocity so it could be other factors, the Shorttac 330mm is shorter visually despite the fact it says it's 330mm while the SA ultra II state's it's around 220mm.
Could you comapre the AK74U with the Vaznek from SMG class, I'm still wondering which one to choose in 6v6 matches

to get a more accurate picture of the ttk, multiply the stk by 2.5 and assume that you are challenging an spr on taraq.

Late to the party but I think 20 round mags are one of the best attachments to put on this gun since with fast hands it is a quick reload and you can always pick up ammo off everyone else constantly using the 74u, and you get all the other huge benefits too

Honestly, I feel so damn conflicted about this gun.
On 1 hand: it is insanely viable in a LOT of situations, especially if you land the Headshots. It heavily reminds me of BO3's KN-44. That thing was an absolute beast. I do enjoy using it for sure.
On the other hand: I don't like how it outshines a vast majority of the AR's, SMG's, and even the LMG's. In a game chalk full of 4-6 shot kill guns, this gun kills in 2-4. If more weapons could kill as quickly and deal as much damage as it can, it'd be much less of an extreme outlier.
Can you tune it and show your personal favorite slider settings pleasd?
They need to nerf this thing into the ground. This gun should not have the same close range damage profile as the Kastov 762, otherwise the Kastov 545 should have it as well, since it uses the same caliber. This thing is dominating the multiplayer side atm and it's making a stale meta. I'll be happy with a 545 buff, though.

I finally tried tier 1 early early this morning and was greatly disappointed when I learned the hard way that the Battle Rifles(FTAC Recon used) ARE NOT a 1 shot kill...🤷♂️🤷♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. You will find yourself getting a somewhat consistent 2 shot kill. Important to note I said somewhat consistent 2 shot kill as I was finding myself having to hit enemies with 3 shots more times than I feel shouldve been necessary. (I mean honestly.... you're able to kill enemies in 2 shots in most cases requiring no more than 3 as long as you're within your weapons effective range

Ace, Is it possible that you miscalculated the time to kill with headshots? A 3-shot kill take 184 ms and you state a 2-shot kill takes 92ms. I think that should be 123ms ((184/3)x2)
No. When calculating the TTK the first shot starts the timer so it's eliminated from the equation.
