About cast times, it can be insanely useful on Xaku, since the ability duration decay when recasting Untime isn't inherent, but is a consequence of the ability being off for a quick bit, for 0.5 seconds exactly at base. Increasing casting speed means you lose less from the duration on your other abilities, making them last longer in a way.
Isn't it 1.2s base, 0.6s with Natural Talent? I agree, Cast Speed is functionally Duration & Efficiency for Xaku due to how his timers work, very good stat.
I don't think so, since, if I recall correctly, my Xaku loses ~0.4 secs per cast with only Speed Drift and a regular shard, I don't have Natural Talent
I was literally about to come down here to say this myself. I've only put one +25% casting speed shard on them so far but it's been the best decision with any of the shards I've earned as of yet, letting me go 30 minutes in a mission or more without dropping my setup.
I prefer bonus energy on pick up for him so I can build him for combat discipline with archon intensify plus augment, then avenger and molt for his augment. Also subsume for terrify or breach surge
This is useful. I like to use parkor shards for limbo for rescue missions with auto hack subsume ability. I have a mod that makes the frame invisible for 15 second for each successful hack.
My first Tauforged Shard was an Amber one, and giving it to Titania for the +45% max energy on spawn allowed me to comfortably swap her out of Zenurik and into Madurai. This has helped her gain more Ability Strength for her Razorwing thanks to Sling Strength, higher cast speed to get straight into Razorwing thanks to Power Transfer, and of course, Void Strike. Also, I did rank my Preparation mod to max, but that was before the Archon Shards were a thing, and it was because I use it for the Exilus of Sevagoth's Shadow. Real nice to have him burst into the fray with full energy out of the gate so I can indulge in catching hordes of enemies with my Scorpion impression
+25% Casting Speed is probably the most powerful single Archon Shard effect. Even one shard + Speed Drift in the exilus nearly matches Natural Talent. Granted not every frame needs it, but it's nice to have on almost any frame and a godsend for a few. Frames that probably benefit the most are: Caliban, Frost (Avalanche), Harrow, Hydroid, Limbo, Mag, Mirage (Prism), Nekros (Shadows), Nezha, Trinity, Valkyr, Volt (Discharge), Zephyr
Oberon benefits a lot too. Because youre doing the carpet plus his heal and optionally the elemental ward from Chroma having faster cast speed really helps.

I agree with this so much! 99% of the time when I go looking for a way to help improve my build that I enjoy, the only answer RUclipsrs have is "don't do that build lol". Kengineer instead always brings up the clever niche uses that I want to hear about, every time!
Yeah I like how Kengineer goes over the ideas and how they can apply in general so that we can make decisions when making our builds. I like other Warframe RUclipsrs but a lot of the time their videos feel more do this meta AOE build or you will fail.
I actually didn't know zenurik worked with the orb effectiveness. Neat. Don't use zen that much anymore but good go know. Casting speed is a life saver on protea, since her survival often boils down to her one, either ehp from shields the shield gate bonus they provide, and foe the latter casting speed is massive
imo, instead of using ~3 shard slots to match the amount of energy you’d get from using the Preparation mod, it’s a lot better to use the same amount of shards to increase your max amount of energy (blue shards) while having Preparation in your mod config.
now this is interesting, i wonder if using the energy recovery from the Amber Shard + Zenurik at spawn + subsequent Energy Orb drops can compete with what you mentioned
"logner animations" Fantastic video, as much as I LOVE hoarding the HP regen for Nidus and putting my Wisp to 400+ Ability Strength before Procced buffs, Amber Shards almost make me wish all the shards had interesting QoL buffs instead of Min-max style of Raw stat Increases. Obviously, nothing is stopping me from taking advantage of any QoL-style buff from the shards currently.

"Gauss is usually running everywhere" Okay yes but sometimes I need to leave the ground, and I don't want to feel like I dropped below walking speed when I do. That is why I have a single amber shard in my Gauss.
for the purposes of ESO, i find that running 2 amber shards on orb efficiency plus putting the Energizing Shot mod on my pistol is more than enough to replace energize. the end result is a Manic 77 energy per shard, and frees up arcane space for things like Molt efficiency and molt Augmented.

My max range Vauban with the vortex augment mod and Dispensary skill helminthed on, LOVES them energy orb efficiency bonus. Currently has 5 amber (one of which is Tauforged), I can just put a dispenser down then spam vortext to build up the duration. Makes intercept and defence missions a breeze.
It's not just nice, it's practically mandatory. If you're inside the Cataclysm when you're recasting, then the gap between casts can easily get you killed.
I have found it good to use these shards on Warframes with channeled abilities. I slapped two on my sevagoth and Gloom doesn’t eat my energy bar nearly as badly because pickups are doubled.
"yeet loki" reminds me of an old build i have for him. Its a max range, movement speed build. I have an old arcane helmet for loki from old raids. it gives +15% range. i paired it with movement mods. its super fun to play.
Infested mobility is great. I use it all the time on my Hildryn! it's a high power build, so MAN does it give her the zoomies! [duration is a bit low, though, so have to recast often.]
Amber is king just for the fact that every frame in the game can benefit from these, something the other 2 can't say, and the benefits are amazing! With the exception of the health orb one, all of them can help you play the game faster and more comfortably. I think Red gets too much credit coz "bigger numbers whoo!!!", but there are so many good ways to get strength and duration. On the otherhand: the stuff that Amber and Blue give is either far more limited in options, or harder to fit on builds. I can only think of 1 frame that actually NEEDS strength shards and that is Hildryn, for that 400% power needed to get 1-tap armor strips... The melee crit damage one is amazing though, only 2 mods that give that type of damage and the red shards can outperform both combined if using Tau ones. Just try out the Biting Frost augment if you wanna see how ridiculous melee weapons get with that much extra crit damage XD Blue imo is the unsung hero of squishy frames that want some extra survivability or frames that need a bit more max energy, but Flow/Primed Flow are kinda overkill for them.
Sounds like if you need one of these benefits, just use one unless their build needs it as that second slot could be used for something more useful. Casting speed can help survivability on some frames as a panic pillage can be a life saver if done right, and a faster cast time lets you focus on avoiding damage till it completes.
Heads up, the aura mod giving extra energy was a bug and it did get patched recently. I believe the only thing affecting your starting energy is the base starting value of different warframes and your unused mod capacity multiplied by 5.

Following Lua's Prey, health orb builds are a LOT more valuable _and_ accessible now, which is pretty great for that aspect of yellows. I ended up putting it on my Nekros.
I dont understand how the corpus and grineer can consistently go against the tenno when theyre out here making meme builds and testing it out against their forces in their territory
They should make it so the if you have an archon shard you can use it in any of your frames any times, not having to remove and put it in another. Also we need a way to make tauforged shards.

Limbo), could definitely use a pair of these amber shards for the casting speed. Been playing him more as of late since I found out his 1st ability has a hold function that lets you cancel Banish early, triggering Radial Banish manually to bring enemies into the rift without leaving it or resorting to Cataclysm

Only how much you spawn with. Max energy is tied to the base stat on the frame, the level bonus for the frame (usually +50%), and then any explicitly stated +energy max modifiers such as Flow.
Voruna with parcour velocity is just too hard to control. I feel like I will break out of the front mirror in my orbiter, which would NOT be a fun way to go.
I think 2 yellow for casting speed and 3 red for strength is gonna be standard in so many builds. 2 free mod slots essentially Edit : I've made a max efficiency, max range, full armor strip Equinox nuke build with that setup and it's so much fun I recommended you give it a try
(Corrosive Projection, Nekros Helminth ability, with Equinox 3rd ability giving you 20% more strength all you need is 114 strength and you will be able to fully amor strip)
I made 100 and 125% casting speed grendel. 2 or 3 shards and natural talent... Well 100% casting speed is nice, but overkill since it seems that if had some sort of macro mouse that casting speed could get used more efficiently. 50%/75% casting speed would be good enough. But Testing out other variations came to realisation, that 50% casting speed on grendel is a must. Else normal speed seems like a slowmo now :D But 100/125% was fun to make grendel pseudo gutling gun.
Im surprised that not a single shard gives straight up efficiency on warframes. My plan is to just throw all azure armor shards into my rhino prime. I might have considered these if ability efficiency was an option so i could get rid of fleeting expertise.

I've got exactly one yellow shard on Lavos for casting time. He'll usually survive the length of his casting anyway, but when you want transmutation probe you want it on the field immediately, and Catalyze is in a similar situation where if it's going to move outward so slowly, you want it going as soon as possible.
Just dump 3 in trinity and make ev trinity immortal with natural talent + speed drift. I killed lvl 150 juguluses that way for a while before building a zaw. You practically cannot die due to shield gating.
You skipped over Titania's gain from Parkour velocity a bit. I would like to mention that Titania's flight speed *is* increased with increased parkour velocity. She... doesn't need it, on account of razor wing blitz, but still. If you wanna go even more bonkers fast, that's one more speed option for her.
A race between every frame that has a build set for maximum speed and parkour would be fun to see. Volt and gauss would be top runners naturally but can't help but think titania would be an underdog vying for the top spot

I'm only spawning in with Xaku with 95 energy. Have Steel charge on as the Aura, with 9 mod capacity still open for higher mod ranks. So calculating this I get nothing from benefitting from the doubled 9 capacity of steel charge. Because Base starting energy of Xaku is 50 + 45 unspent mod capacity energy (9*5) = 95, whilst Steel charge on matchin polarity has 18 (*5 energy = 40) should give me the extra 40, boosting me to 135, but it doesn't. Sad

very true, i got my cast time for his 4 down to ~0.1 second, makes for a very good combo with a 16 second grasp of lok and 23 second gaze

First I thought that the Ember shards are the least useful but then I realized how much the casting speed does

For some semblance of brevity there are a few sources I didn't include including that arcane.
I'm 2k hours in, use Chroma a lot, but only now have I found out about him being able to double bullet jump.
im not paying 2k platinum for a arcane, so 5 shards for Budget Energize Arcane seems reasonable for me

Only how much you spawn with. Max energy is tied to the base stat on the frame, the level bonus for the frame (usually +50%), and then any explicitly stated +energy max modifiers such as Flow.
For all my baruuk mains use 4 red melee crit shards and 1 casting speed

Voruna with parcour velocity is just too hard to control. I feel like I will break out of the front mirror in my orbiter, which would NOT be a fun way to go.
I think 2 yellow for casting speed and 3 red for strength is gonna be standard in so many builds. 2 free mod slots essentially
Edit : I've made a max efficiency, max range, full armor strip Equinox nuke build with that setup and it's so much fun I recommended you give it a try
(Corrosive Projection, Nekros Helminth ability, with Equinox 3rd ability giving you 20% more strength all you need is 114 strength and you will be able to fully amor strip)
I made 100 and 125% casting speed grendel. 2 or 3 shards and natural talent... Well 100% casting speed is nice, but overkill since it seems that if had some sort of macro mouse that casting speed could get used more efficiently. 50%/75% casting speed would be good enough. But Testing out other variations came to realisation, that 50% casting speed on grendel is a must. Else normal speed seems like a slowmo now :D But 100/125% was fun to make grendel pseudo gutling gun.
Yellow shards with parkour velocity are a DRUG. I literally can't use a non-sharded Warframe without it feeling atrociously slow anymore ToT
Im surprised that not a single shard gives straight up efficiency on warframes. My plan is to just throw all azure armor shards into my rhino prime. I might have considered these if ability efficiency was an option so i could get rid of fleeting expertise.
Imo amber shards is a better arcane energise even with just 2

I've got exactly one yellow shard on Lavos for casting time. He'll usually survive the length of his casting anyway, but when you want transmutation probe you want it on the field immediately, and Catalyze is in a similar situation where if it's going to move outward so slowly, you want it going as soon as possible.

I got this last week as my first tauforged used it on valkyr for energy on spawn but Im thinking to using it on Ivara for velocity idk.
Just dump 3 in trinity and make ev trinity immortal with natural talent + speed drift. I killed lvl 150 juguluses that way for a while before building a zaw. You practically cannot die due to shield gating.
You skipped over Titania's gain from Parkour velocity a bit.
I would like to mention that Titania's flight speed *is* increased with increased parkour velocity. She... doesn't need it, on account of razor wing blitz, but still. If you wanna go even more bonkers fast, that's one more speed option for her.
It is especialy easy to reach uncontrollable speed with Titania i agree.
A race between every frame that has a build set for maximum speed and parkour would be fun to see. Volt and gauss would be top runners naturally but can't help but think titania would be an underdog vying for the top spot
After I get enough im gonna plug them up in limbo he has some of the worst cast times often I get clapped before I can cast rift or pause time

@@ARWINGx1 I know but it's a better use. His cast times are pretty fast. The only real delay is until the ball hits the ground. Which isn't effected.
I'm only spawning in with Xaku with 95 energy. Have Steel charge on as the Aura, with 9 mod capacity still open for higher mod ranks. So calculating this I get nothing from benefitting from the doubled 9 capacity of steel charge. Because Base starting energy of Xaku is 50 + 45 unspent mod capacity energy (9*5) = 95, whilst Steel charge on matchin polarity has 18 (*5 energy = 40) should give me the extra 40, boosting me to 135, but it doesn't. Sad
Heads up, the aura mod giving extra energy was a bug and it did get patched recently. I believe the only thing affecting your starting energy is the base starting value of different warframes and your unused mod capacity multiplied by 5.

If ur landslide can crit through incarnon melee then crit dmg shards
