The giveaway has now closed, but you can still catch future streams and raffles here: www.twitch.tv/thekengineer REGARDING SARYN: It was my intent in this video to temper expectations and make clear that merely Saryn+Shards alone is not an instant easy win. That said it is clear I did not highlight the positives remotely enough, so that's on me. I try to keep a balance of explaining things without spending 30 minutes proving 1 + 1 = 2, but I missed that balance this time.
In regards to Saryn, it depends on how you go about it. As you said in your video, you aren't gonna get an instant win with spores alone but she can still benefit immensely from the Emerald Archon Shards if one changes their Saryn build from a Nuker to a Weapon Buffer build. Saryn with the Venom Dose augment (Corrosive damage on weapon) can easily let her apply max corrosive stack with two Emerald Archon Shards and a fast enough weapon. I have been having super much fun with a dumb meme build where I run Venom Dose augment (Corrosive), Subsumed Nourish (Viral), Toxic Lash (just for more Toxic Damage) alongside four Emerald Archon Shards. Two with the max Corrosive proc increase, One with the Toxin status proc damage increase and the last with getting healed on Toxin procs. I also use the Ignis Wraith with Gas damage and Hunter Munitions for Gas procs and Slash procs. It is an expensive and dumb build but it completely changed the way how I play Saryn. I am having a lot of fun with it and its amazing seeing enemies completely drown in every status effect within the green spectrum (Toxin, Viral, Corrosive and Gas). Great informative video as always.
Update as per the last dev stream we will have the option to combine 4 normal shards into a tauforged shard with the next update in March. So making Tauforged shards of combined variety will technically become possible, but at the cost of 8 normal shards it will be insanely expensive
it's kind of obsolete given there are legit between 5-10 frames that can completely strip armor with their abilities some for a permanent duration others for a fixed one
Alternate take with saryn that makes her a better candidate for the full armor strip. The strength of spores is not their ability to do direct damage to a single target, but to spread though the map, effecting every enemy in a massive range. So while she does take awhile to fully strip armor, in most missions that time is while enemies are running from there spawn to the battle. With %200 strength and 3 spores an enemy will be stripped in about 5 seconds. On defense and survival missions most will arrive to combat, fully stripped.
That's my thought as well, something like survival and enemies usually arrive to your current room already armor stripped from spores before they're even in LoS to shoot with your guns.
Use knightmare frame’s saryn build in the sp circuit last week and it carried us for 8 rounds stripping the map. Saryn is really nice with emerald shards (two normal for the +4 corrosive stacks, and one tau for 15% ability damage to enemies affected by corrosion, two normal amber for casting speed)
Moreover, outside of the direct benefit to Saryn, other allies attacking those same spore-laden enemies will find that they can benefit from the increased corrosive cap due to Saryn's spores having affected them.
+Toxin damage ticks damage on Saryn also increases damage if Toxin Lash is spreaded via Sobek Acid Shells. Combining that with Roar lead to interesting results due to scaling of enemy hp values.
I am surprised you neglected to mention Citrine at all, seeing as she can very easily (if not even more easily than anyone else) apply toxin procs. She benefits quite a lot from this shard with the correct build! I was also hoping you'd mention Archon Continuity, as it makes any Warframe who can apply toxin also apply corrosive (except Saryn iirc).
You highlighted Grendel for the first effect of the emerald shard, but you overlooked Hydroid for the third effect. Granted, it's a win-more button for him as Hydroid hardly struggles where he's actually killing enemies, but it can take him from weapon platform to ability nuke in terms of play style. Sure, his base numbers aren't crazy, but those enemies will likely be entirely stripped of their armor, serving as an additional damage modifier. Add all of this into a Pilfering Swarm build or the nature of his Barrage, and you get some pretty effective (albeit probably overkill) ability damage.
The issue here is that on Hydroid, it's often better to put on a Crimson Shard outright - not only does that boost Hydroid's damage output like the Emerald Shard effect, but it also increases the Armor/Bonus caps for Plunder. Maybe I'd change my tune if I knew the numbers for +10% Ability Strength versus +10% Ability Damage, maybe the calculations are different enough to warrant the change. If this were an increase to ALL Corrosive damage, including weapons, then this would be a moot point.
@@Gamefling the ability damage archon shards are worth using over strength, if you can hit 300 str with molt augmented and whatever mods, with his barrage augment you strip and viral proc enemies and each tick of rain can hit for upwards of like, 80k, its a bit ridiculous, plus his plunder can give him like 600-700% extra damage on top of that. i run 5 greens on him, 2 for corrosive stacks, 3 tauforged ability damage, since its a final multiplier on your damage, so an extra 45% damage on top of whatever damage you have, and nourish over his 2 with either zenurik/energy nexus. Its ability spam but its so much fun. highly recommend.
@@KrokusOfDagonmy question is why are you running the corrosive stack ones? Just to deal with accolytes? Seems like it would be better to use all Emerald Damage ones or mix in Crimson.
I currently have three warframes with two archon shards each. Saryn, Mirage, and Titania. For Saryn and Mirage the bonus is noticeable, and can make a big difference against armored units, but Titania is something else entirely. I have her run Toxic and radiation on her Dex Pixia, and corrosive on the Diwata. I also subsumed on Toxic Barrage and use the Viral Tempest augment. I can just spam the ability and everything dies... anything with armor getting their protection removed quite quickly, and anything with shields just evaporating. The Acolytes sometimes require a bonk on the head with the sword, but if enough of my Razorflies are still alive, they just disappear too. It feels absolutely insane to run but it's so much fun, and does crazy damage
Hey imma need the build too, been experimenting with titania for the longest but never truly thought about using tempest barrage on her, how even is the interaction op? How does it affect the stats shes built with?
you can run your pixias with toxin radiation blast archon continuity for corrosive procs and nourish for viral thats some reeally mad stuff with 2 green shards and youre the king of disruption
For anyone curious, just did the math for the effective damage boost that corrosion procs (and the max corrosion stack effect) actually give in those scenarios, using the values at 8:50. Multiplier is in comparison to still being at full armor. tl:dr 1 Tauforged should be good enough, but if you don't know what else to slot in 2 regular is also really good. Level 101 Steel Path Trooper: 10 corrosive stacks: 4.13x 12 corrosive stacks: 7.69x (nice) 13 corrosive stacks: 13.56x full armor strip: 18.18x Level 200 Steel Path Bombard: 10 corrosive stacks: 4.73x 12 corrosive stacks: 10.91x 13 corrosive stacks: 32.09x full armor strip: 90.91x
@@knicklichtjedi Damage spread has too much variance to really calculate for that in a simple way. However, I did look at Corrosive's resists and weaknesses and it looks like the absolute worst case is going from +75% to +0%. At that point the damage comparison probably boils down to a case by case basis.
@@D0omsday779 Okay ty! With full strip and accounting for the reduction in damage bonus, the values should be: Trooper: 10.38x (75% --> 0%) Bombard: 90.91x (0% --> 0%, but you lose the 75% radiation damage bonus if you had any radiation damage) From 13.56x to 10.38x is then a noticeable difference if you deal a good chunk of your damage as corrosive. Good to know!
Citrine gains + status duration (and chance) and her Prismatic Gem ability applies up to one suite of status effects (including Toxin) per .4 seconds per enemy hit. Archon Continuity applies a Corrosive status effect whenever a Toxin status is applied. Considering you might well want her Preserving Shell to start out at 95% damage reduction, you want something above 200% ability strength on her anyway. With this setup, she can apply 2.5 Corrosive procs per second, that each lasts more than 18 seconds, and this is on every enemy hit (including by Fractured Blast), before taking weapon status effect into account. Fractured Blast also benefits from at least a 200% ability strength to guarantee health orb drops. She can also healtank even harder with the health per toxin proc effect. This is my preferred setup right now, and I enjoy it very much.
I know this is 2 months later, but I just found this guy's videos lol. I love Citrine, but I've found a ton of success running pillage on her. I still run Archon Continuity for the lulz, but I put Pillage over her 4th, use precision intensify, blind rage, and molt augmented arcane, plus a couple red strength shards, and I can single cast strip full armor fairly quickly into a mission. Love this for camping a big room in SP Conjunction Survival Omnia Fissures, and my Netracell missions. She tears high level content up, great frame, can't wait for her Prime
@@drkillbrew6387I’ve replaced her 4 with gloom to get incarnon channeled ability bonuses but it also provides great cc and more healing for health tanks in range
@@Sole_Samurai I personally don't tend to rely on Gloom for those incarnon bonuses, as Gloom only counts as channeled while something is within its range, so if you're shooting guys at the far end of a hallway and there's nothing next to you, then you're not getting the bonus. Not the end of the world, as being surrounded is pretty common, and incarnon weapons are mostly amazing even without the occasional effect in play.
@@drkillbrew6387 I dont try to play sniper and I have a really balanced build utilizing all the systems of modding such as shards and arcanes so I get a very sizable range.. sure its not my 500% power strength dante but its certainly a solid all rounder build I have for her…
I put two emerald shards on Titania, and run toxin radiation Dex Pixia with archon continuity to have a build I can run against any faction. I armor strip armored units, bypass the shields of shielded units, and have a little bit of radiation for the murmur faction.
You've made literally hundreds of videos this is applicable to, but I wanna seriously thank you for how much time and headache you've saved me over the years. You're a saint
also worth noting that 2x tauforged corrosive stack shards on Hydroid also achieves the full armor strip effect on acolytes and the like. that is considerably more viable, though still questionable and low level ferrite armor enemies can actually take up to (but not reaching) 75% more corrosive damage (total) compared to fullstrip if you slot in the 98% shard, depending on how low armor they have. was planning on making a quick vid explaining the math and where the breakpoint is so I'm glad this vid didn't steal my thunder there :p
breakpoints are different per enemis. but generally, unless weapons and abilities are dealing pure corrosive, and only when dealing with ferrite armor, full strip is better most of the time.
I use the extra corrosive stack shards on Saryn, and its actually not as bad as you'd think from testing, Spores cover a huge area of the map, go through walls, and with 200% strength or above, it doesn't take long at all to kill those enemies, and the enemies you face will usually be fully armour stripped, it creates a cascading effect where; enemies get spores, they lose armour, they die, they pass on their spires to other enemies, those enemies get fully armour stripped too before you even get a chance to attack them. This effect is actually crazy strong by itself, I've used it just in regular builds and it quickly became my favourite Saryn build, the damage and armour strip it causes is really good in actual gameplay, I'd very much recommend it in actual missions and in more tests, I found it actually made a nuke Saryn build viable in Steel Path. And, while it's very much not needed to make the build work, I tried it alongside the Incarnon Dual Ichors, with Melee Exposure, and the effects were just amplified even more, the enemies took so much damage that they would die pretty much to one swing, not even a full combo hit, and then turn into a cloud, which would spread spores to more enemies through the aoe and apply more corrosive procs, it just created what I genuinely think might be the strongest effect in Warframe vs armoured enemies, full armour strip and a constant 10 viral procs by combining Saryn and Dual Ichors just melted the map, I calculated the kpm at the end and it was 320 kills per minute, 5 per second. And, while 2 shards don't full strip an acolyte, the extra damage from less armour is quite noticeable from my experience. I really recommend revisiting this combo, these shards are really good on Saryn, though, otherwise, I would say they're pretty niche.
I use Corrosive on Saryn w/ 216 Ability Power (Blind Rage + 3x Umbral + Overextended) and it armor strips just about the entire map. But more importantly it armor strips the hard enemies which otherwise might slow me down.
My Saryn has 186% Strength and also fully strips the map. Instead of blind rage I use transient fortitude, since I run gloom and BR hurts too much on energy. It doesnt take much for Saryn to maximally benefit from these shards.
Depends on if you run energize or nourish on her. I've mained her for years and I've consistently shafted efficiency on her as unless you're spamming her 4, she's usually fine. Her large energy pool is icing on the cake with p flow.
@@Akirathedon92 I ran Gloom for a while but swapped to Nourish, which increases energy regen. After the swap Blind Rage made way more sense. I still got a Gloom variation though but it's rarely ever used, only makes sense when fighting level 2000+ enemies.
As a Lavos main, Emerald shards opened up a lot more versatility in my setup. Normally, I just spammed Viral and MAYBE a base element add-on to my abilities. but now, Lavos has the capability to armor strip. Having a Corrosive-Cold Cedo to my loadout (stripper shards along on the ride) also allows me to take it slow with far higher level enemies than I would think feasible. Emerald shards are a freaking blessing, I already can't imagine a world without em XD
One important thing about Saryn is that with toxic lash active, every hit against an enemy with spores adds one spore to enemies in range, and the bursting of the spore applies another corrosive proc to the enemy that was hit. With a good AoE weapon hitting multiple enemies that all have spores, you can greatly increase the speed at which they are stripped. Also, strength is a very good stat for Saryn, second only to range on a Spore-focused build, so you should be at 200% strength on a spore build.
Thank you so MUCH. I was actually trying to find information not more than a day or so ago about how the toxic boost from these shards affected Regurgitate but could not find any real help. Feel better now for keeping the 2 normal and 1 tau emerald on him now.
When the update went live I immediately put +4 corrosive stacks on Saryn, something you failed to mention is you build Saryn with 265% ability range, so you armor strip enemies you're not even seeing yet. as a matter of fact, i took her to Kappa Sedna and most of the time the demolysts were fully stripped when i got to them
You definitely want range but the most impactful thing imo is strength. 200% strength is 100% status chance per spore and is very doable without dumping range
2:44 you are factually wrong - if you know how to build for Toxin and damage over time on Saryn right, the shard gives you access to some of the most premium damage over time in game. Thing is, just green shards alone don't cut it. I do not appreciate this slander.
Still watching but i found a great use of it on a vermisplicer or torid incarnon with crit chance, status chance rivens. Allowing for orange to red crits and 2-3 stacks per shot. This chaining between several enemies allows for mass clearing on steel path. The additional 30% to 90% for 1-2 shards is marginal but makes a massive difference on enemies leveling in the 1000s. More applicable when applying any additional dmg buff (mostly roar even subsumed).
I was planning on grabbing some Orange Archon Shards for the damage bonus against Radiation-affected enemies for my Smite Limbo build, so I’d be interested to see what you think of the other fused Archon Shards
For me, the corrosive proc damage, the cap, AND the healing all have a rather neat effect when combined with Archon Continuity for a Toxin-infused vial rush; three procs, at a consistent over time application in a defensive line, stripping, CCing, healing AND priming for Lavos' setup. Would it be more efficient to just. Run Arcon Con and use other shards? Absolutely! But I FEEL like im doing something cool and synergenistic, at the very least.
having 14 max corrosive procs is good with zephyr tornadoes + subsumed viral tempest... literally gather as many enemies as you want, then hot the tornadoes with a convectrix or phantasma or other extreme status weapon, ideally built for gas or electricity.
This made me think of a Toxic Chroma Build with Archon Continuity, Harmony and an Emerald Shard for Health Regen. May not be optimal but it'd be fun. Armor Strip, Healing and a finishing Heavy to condense the Toxic damage might be a good time.
Saryn with a strength/venom dose augment weapon buffing build goes hard with full armor strip. Beam weapons like a gaze kitgun or nukor rapidly apply corrosive procs and the enemies actually just melt like hot butter in a microwave (oh and nourish too for all of the elements)
I run a similar build myself. Full Umbral, Venom Dose, Streamline, and then just Duration. If you run Energize or some other form of energy regen, use either more Duration or the Toxic Lash augment. It's a simple build to use, pop all three buffs, use Molt regularly, and just shoot people.
Great videa I would like to point out that an Excalibur with the chromatic blade mod, modified to toxin damage with enough ability strength can reach over 100% status purely toxin damage and thus seems like a viable pick for the toxin damage over time option ad well.
Titania's Dex Pixia has enough status chance to get max stacks. time to kill isn't so bad w/ tauforged emerald + topaz + corrosive heat. I personally enjoy it and found it working in testing, but I wanted to see if you can find anything more to it w/ your testing
I run 2 green shard toxin build on her with archon cont, so each toxin proc is also a corro proc. Saves a mod slot on her pixia and the strip speed is insane, insta deletes corpus because shield bypass and insta strips armored targets so very good catch all build imo
@@YourBoyToy1769 I did some test with titania and mesa with a toxic build but tbh corrosive and heat kills way faster since toxic is not really a good damage type against armored units (and it's not even close), toxic is good against the corpus but then why whoud you need the corrosive procs on corpus units?
So ive made a total of 5 emerald shards at this point. All five are bonus damage against corroded enemies, on Saryn. Its a noticable damage up, but it mostly just means her spool-up time to when she is able to kill in a given mission is reduced
I built my Mesa to do toxin damage with archon continuity and two shards, and it's a fun solution to all problems since I can now bypass shields and armor both with my guns. But I still think I'd be better off switching to a heat based build with the topaz shards for extra crit chance.
I'm fookin' 3 months late, Kengie lad, but I'm more casual with fighting Archons but still had enough useless blue and yellow shards to make 2 Tauforged green shards. I put one for toxin status proc damage on my gun-buff Saryn for Toxic Lash and the other one for ability damage on enemies affected by corrosive status on my nuke Saryn to spread spores then hit miasma. Both of my Saryns are objectively better now, but I was definitely sceptical about dropping 15% ability strength crimsons for them, I just think it's better to have the 4 tauforged crimsons on each and then the one green tauforged just for the little extra multiplicative bonus in the equations.
I use Emerald +corro stacks on Qorvex to pair with Nautilus Cordon equipped with Manifold Bond. Qorvex has Tempest Barrage subsumed and Viral Tempest Augment. This automatically gives 2 status procs. Chyrinka Pillar applies radiation resulting in 3. This trigger Manifold Bond that reduces Cordon's cd. In result, everything is pulled into the Pillar, stripped armor with Barrage, applies Viral then you can Macrowave the Pillar for some juicy stacked explosions.
the tau forged corrosive stack works kinda well with qorvex, but you need a aoe source for that, even though the zenistar could be perfect, some players prefer the good old nuke
The extra corrosive from a single tauforged emerald on citrine, with archon continuity, and phantasma prime, is pretty nuts. I also like using other status weapons, and spamming her 1. With archon stretch and archon flow and her 3 active, you pretty much do not have to worry about energy. If you want, add zenurik focus tree on top, and you are SET.
hiii I have a good question.... What happens with Nekros Shadows of the Dead mechanic interaction... Can I put a Shard that give me ability damage ?... how it works with the shadows?, for example I can give to the shadows the ability to deal an specific status proc via helmith (Shock, Smite, Nourish, etc )and kitgun -theorem infection synergy... so the damage of my shadows increase already or instead... nothing happens?
there's a relatively nieche application for poison procs you neglected to mention: saryn sobek explosion spread. her toxic lash adds a guaranteed toxic application to the explosions caused by sobeks explosion, which can trigger more explosions if they kill the target. of course, sadly the explosions are a bit buggy, dont always recognise targets properly even if they are right next to other enemies (sometimes only some enemies are affected by the explosion?), and they are toxin, which is an awefull damage type to scale alongside max health damage, since corpus dont really have much max health to explode from, while other factions typically resist it. But its a fun build that i sometimes whip out in sortie exterms or SP if a friend brings mag/frost armor strip, and the toxin shard adds a lot of damage to it.
I think I found a bug with armor strip. When you apply 14 stacks of corrosion, you fully strip armor, yes. But if you also apply Unairu's second on same mob with 14 stacks, his health pool will become yellow again. I can't test thoroughly whether it's just a UI bug or if mob's armor is somehow restored because I am quite busy. Not sure if I'll be able to find some time to properly test it. Noticed it on disruption, btw. Was running Saryn with 2 shards on +2 to max corrosion, and my teammate was using Unairu on demolists. Some quick shots from epitaph and boom.
While I understand you didn't mention Melee Influence, as it's currently standing on wonky grounds due to all the unintended interactions, but when used as intended, a high attack speed/high status weapon modded for Corrosive, and using an external source to proc the arcane (Operator AMP, forced procs from certain weapons, or shooting through Volt's shield with projectile melees, etc.) you can rapidly apply Corrosive procs on a whole lot of enemies at the same time. With a double-Emerald setup, that allows you to fully armor strip with almost contemptuous ease.
MCGamerCZ has come up with a fun build utilizing a Tauforged shard and weapons modded for Radiation, Corrosive, and Heat, since that's now a combination you can make. All told, at max strip the enemy is left with less than 1% armor, and most of which is ignored by the damage types will still benefit from the increased damage. Someone else did the math, and the breakpoint where Viral/Slash is better than this build is somewhere around level 4,500 enemies. Naturally, meta sweats hate it, but for standard play, it's amazing.
With the changes to armor made after this video was uploaded, a single tauforged shard to increase corrosive stacks makes much more sense, being able to reduce enemies armor from the cap of 2700, all the way down to 54 with the full 13 stacks. Compared to no shard corrosive the best you can do is strip them to 540 armor which is a 64.3% DR at 10 stacks. 13 stacks compared to 10 stacks ends up being around a 2.4x damage bonus! Also, going with two shards for the full strip isn’t nearly as important now. The full strip only gives around 18% more damage than the 98% strip. On enemies not at the armor cap the difference is even smaller.
I feel like Voruna is a candidate for atleast 1 regular Emerald Archon Shard. especially with Archon Continuity equipped. While the status effects from her 2 are random, I think having to build around her lower range, sacrificing strength instead (Overextended) can lend a hand with the lower damage output of both her 2 and 4. This would allow those corrosive procs to stack up while spreading, allowing her to use her 4 more reliably especially if you're using Ulfruns Endurance. Haven't tested this yet, but I feel in theory it could work.
I'm using a Corrosive+Heat build on my Felarx with a viral primer. Would it be considered overkill if I opt for more corrosive procs using these shards?
Valence Formation Lavos is stupid kinds of fun. I have two Tauforged greens in him, making my Cedo/Gotva Prime deal full armor strip in SECONDS against late stage Steel Path enemies. Id put melee exposure on my Praedos, but that might be TOO much corrosive
I've been running my Mesa with Primed Convulsion, Pistol Pestilence and Scorch to stay Corrosive/Heat but lean more on Corrosive. I run 2 Tauforged Green for the mini bosses and the results feel pretty good, but I have honestly not run a lot of numbers. Fun fact though is that the shards seem to stack over multiple players. So if you a team prepped you can get the 14 stacks with minimal Archon Shard slots wasted.
I for myself love my 2 emerald, max duration Gauss. Any weapon with decent status chance armor strips anything. In addition: I run Corrosive/Cold weapons with Primary Frostbite. Why? Well, Corrosive to reduce any armor to zero, cold to slow down enemies and increasing my crit damage, and Primary Frostbite to increase crit damage even more with additional multishot. Now, either go with Energized Ammunition and any primary you like. Gotva Prime just shreds through single target enemies but why go for 75% Ammo Efficiency when you have Incarnon Weapons? Also, the additional multishot from Primary Frostbite helps to get your Incarnon faster back up! Mostly with a single hit and I'm ready to go back into Incarnon. The Torid for example, High status, beam weapon (which benefits highly from +multishot), high crit chance and crit damage, any other Incarnon works just fine too, but when you don't have to worry about Ammunition, why not using Nourish? With Nourish I now have Corrosive/Cold/Viral (and optional Radiation) to get all the good things possible. - 100% Armor Strip - Viral Procs (and Viral Damage for when the enemy hasn't any armor left) - Double increased crit damage and more multishot
My only Saryn build is 250 range and over 200 strength, so no issues quickly applying 14 stacks with her spores. These shards have absolutely raised her to new heights for me. Spores for full armor strip, viral on weapon, toxin to bypass shields from her 3... She has answer to every enemy type not immune to status. Here's an interesting recipient of green shards in my arsenal: Excalibur. Chromatic blade into high status toxic exalted blade, Archon Continuity for Corrosion, and Nourish instead of Slash Dash for viral. Not getting red crits like with Wrathful Advance, but I get better energy recovery and a Gladiator Stick Praedos is enough to reach normal crits. This enough for majority of enemies. Probably not levelcap build, but level 200-300 enemies dissolve like paper straws.
My revenant build is two tau amber casting speed, one tau strength and two of the emerald extra corrosion. Literally only quality of life. Nice I run nourish on him as well, the corrosion takes away the armor then viral does the rest. Yeah it's redundant that I run unairu as well, but it's just nice to have it done as I'm shooting rather than actively switching. Like I said, merely quality of life
Yo this might actually be really good on Excalibur with the chromatic blade augment, which provides an absurd amount of status with the ability to give the blade a base element via color
My first thought on aeeing The emerald shard was: Saryn. But I don't play her like most peeps do, with spores spreading damage and such. I play her as a weapon specialist. Sporesc are too slow to proc 14 status effects but Epitaph isn't so here come my idea. Venim Dose. I can infuse Corrosive on my Epitaph without changing its build. So now I have viral priming, Corrosive stripping and Toxin from Toxic Lash, meaning, an armorstrip won't ever be requiered. So I freed up The helminth spot for another damage buff: Xata's Whisper. And I tested it against SP Circuit. Solo. And it worked like a Charm. Everything died în just under 3 secs, including Thrax units. I went so far as to mock lvl cap thrax with just two Archon shards. This might just be one of The best endurance layouts I've ever used.
What about using tempest barrage as a subsume to apply status effects in a specific area u have locked Down with the augment dealing viral after the armour is stripped seems like a decent use for the extra stacks
the one thing this video has left me curious about is how good Hydroid's 1 can be against armoured targets, especially since it is the subsumed ability. i'd love to see a very quick comparison, maybe with a frame that can group enemies, and just do a simple test. without shards, without shards and the viral augment, with shards, with shards and the viral augment.
For Saryn, I have high range and high strength with The stacking strength arcane. In a mission I will constantly run into enemies that I already fully armor stripped with 2 green shards.. assuming they didn't die already.
main uses for the corrosive increases are for subsuming tempest barrage on gun frames or frames that cant afford say 328% and or use corrosive projection or armour strip with say terrify or if they use guns with ability's the way i found it works great is on frames like limbo where u subsume barrage over his 4 (using 1 and 3 into hold cast 1) has he cant allways get damage incresses beyond 500-1000 in squad mission at level 100-150 SP with sometimes it being a hinders so with the use of barrage (it can kill quite well itself) to then strip enemys when u are safe in rift lets u pop out unload your weapons and pop into rift while always helping the team and not hindering them (if u have all frames like mesa then it will not be needed has they can kill through rift but still lets u open up to squad play where u only need to banish rift surge to kill to get stacks on arcane to then gun everything down afterword's without rifting them)
@TheKengineer I'm still curious to see if an explosive legerdemain Mirage build with archon continuity would benefit from emerald shards to strip armor, with sickening pulse of course to push those stacks ;) #DreamBig
Well if I really want to strip armor, I'll just go Unairu. Not many enemies will require that tho. When armed to the teeth, even level cap fodder gets wiped out pretty quickly for any gimmick to really kick in. That being said, I do miss the days when I could turn a health bar red with just zapping them with the Quanta.
my only problem with this how there was a creeping bullseye in the mesa build and not an anemic agility. I also didnt see any arcanes proc on her. I get this was to show that you will destroy an enemy before you get to even get to 14 stacks of corrosive. It just ended up bugging me for some reason
I now have the perfect thing for my Archon mod Citrine. (Simply for the bonus Archon mods grant to the 4 base elements)Dumb build that sometimes works well on SP
Although im 6 months late to comment this, saryn uses the full armor strip option very well, why? Not only does it soften them up for her abilities to do more damage, but combine it with a aoe weapon (like torid incarnon or similar (fast status spreading weapons)) in combination with the augment for her first ability (or just mod in the weapon, or viral if you want the augment) and toxic lash will nuke entire rooms with the right weapons. (Since toxin isnt true damage like slash, it benefits a lot from total armor strip)
Saryn toxic lash and spore venom dose are perfect for green shards +4 stacks from shards makes spore 100% armor strip , venom dose ,toxoc lash with duel ichor incarnate equals room wipe need melle influence and have the ichor main dmg electric. I run nourish venom dose toxic lash for viral toxic and corrosive on all weapons , second buld xata whisper over nourish . Also thoes 3 buffs on a ocucuor is broken to the max with sentient surge
the corocive buff should reduce the number of procs needed to armor stip not up the number you can apply, this way having more than two on would be a much biger benefit and also make emerald tau shards very valuable what I mean is with one youll only need 8 procs to reach what 10 would do, and at 10 would be the effect of having 12, so if you want all in and had five normal shards youll get the effect of 10 procs on that first status, and with all five tau youll have on one prock the effect of having 15 a.k.a 100% strip in one proc but I assuem this would make them too strong even though we have a plethra of ways to fully stip with helminth and abilities
I’ve used the corrosive strip with two shards on Citrine and it’s pretty slow. Best paired with Hydroid’s 1 subsume or sickening pulse to max out those corrosive stacks quick. Definitely free strip on Saryn though.
As a Saryn player I can assure you that this shard has no good use for her. And there's no build(s) or specific loadout(s) that can be game breaking or need to be nerfed whatsoever.
Amprex with corrosive goes brrrr I'm using one tauforged for the 98% armor strip then either have my teammates oneshot stripped enemies or just finish them with melee/or whatever. It's my go to Weapon on my Wisp build for SP stuff for the insanely fast application of corrosive procs.
I unironically use a health tanking setup with banshee Some armor archon shards , arcane blessing, and gloom + silence stun let her be honestly really tanky even well into steel path Plus resonance sonar means you absolutely nuke stuff
I put a 2 green shards for +4 more corrosive stacks on all my frames with an Exalted weapons and just modded those to corrosive since it's a weapon you always expect them to have. Helps a lot on endurance runs especially on SP Circuit. You're right that you won't notice it unless the enemy can survive to get 14 procs, but when it does, it works great. The break point in this case is the Enemy Level. As for Saryn, I just use Venom Dose as well to get faster stacks to 14. Having the spores already spread around too also helps my teammates. Passive room wide Armor Strip just helps the team as a whole complete objectives because there's less enemy pressure.
Archon continuity and emerald shards work well together. raise your corrosive cap and increase damage to enemies with corrosion. Archon cont will proc toxin and corrosive at the same time.
If your talking about saryn specifically archon continuity does not work on toxic lash it only works on molt when it explodes just dropping this info because I bought archon continuity and was very disappointed when I found this out
What about toxin lash saryn with the archon vitality mod ( if i remember correctly ) which will allow for any weapon to proc toxin from abilities and thus corrosive from the archon mod. You can then amplify your damage output by having viral/slash/heat/electricity. Perhaps toxin lash on a viral heat incarnoned dual ichor which leaves residual toxin clouds?!
unfortunately you need an ability capable of dishing out that many status procs to begin with. Even a frame like citrine would struggle with this. As her 3 isn't quick enough at applying the correct statuses to reach a full strip on it's own. Doesn't help you have cases like saryn where TOXIN LASH THE ABILITY THEY USE AS THE EXAMPLE ON THE MOD.... Doesn't work. It also doesn't help that most of the frames that deal toxin also have armor strip in their kits aswell... And shit like larva burst? Nah dawg... that ain't doing shit... you'll get like one corrosive proc after exploding that shit... It's more cute than effective.
You forgot something about Saryn, Archon continuity with venom dose augment and toxic lash aplies corrosive procs which the addition that you can actually get the 14 procs rather quickly and spread the corrosive with mele influence... You want more? Replace her 4 ability with Xata's whispers and use bane mods, last step, profit
Zombie Octavia+Revenant benefits from x2 green shards specialy lvl10k enemies in voidcascade melt real quick to strong meta guns!!! so 100% worth the invesment if u dont wanna click too many buttons to strip where u can forget about active stripin and letting the passive one take over and u enjoy the farming more! thats a win for me
I put 2 corrosive shards on my Wisp and put tempest barrage over sol-gate with the augment. It's really funny to see Breach surge destroy whole rooms doing 900k damage a proc
bring problem with toxin is we dont have good sources, and since they are used to make the 2 most used elements, they rarely are available, maybe DE will add something to help it, like they did with radiation, maybe mods/arcanes that creates the toxin status without being a toxin damage, would be cool to have deadly toxin when too much toxin is accumulated. maybe DE is planning to add augment for Doom to inflict toxin status, or they could make something to make it tick faster than that helmith skill.
I was hoping u also calculated armor reduction corrosive proc combined with heat proc and CP aura. kinda sad that u don't cause im so curious about that.
I wish I could join the Grendel cult but I cant stand the obnoxiously low range of his 1st ability and the depressing damage of his meatball, plus many ranges dont even scale with ability range
@@thebeyonder4961whaaaa i think i only have stretch on and i can eat most enemies i can see on most tilesets also meatball is just for subsuming, been maining him since he came out and probably used meatball under 20 times
Citrine is extremely potent with the corrosive shards as using a single archon mod causes her crystal to deal corrosive procs, and the status chance boost that the ability grants is enough to make corrosive weapons strip armor way faster. Saryn shouldn't really be judged on a simulacrum test, as multiple spores can pop and spread throughout the map using her 3 and hitting enemies, fully stripping the armor of enemies you're not seeing yet.
One idea I had was trying to abuse Archon Continuity Chroma with two emerald shards, for the max health scaling Toxin proc from Elemental Ward. ...Turns out there's a reason no one's done that, namely that it simply doesn't work. Can't reach 14 Corrosion stacks from abilities, and Elemental Ward also ignores enemies that already have any toxin proc on them. :(
I understand these tests and everything take time but are you gonna do video on each new shard? The fused shards seem to be past the early beta test stage already.
You're missing the alternative interpretation of what I said. "This allows you to merge two archon shards together into a new type for four different options..." two shards, eg red and blue, into a new type, eg purple, for four options, eg four options on the purple shard.
Tbh I just use 1 Tao in a lot of cases for the almost 100% strip since nothing I fight hits a high enough level for the remaining 1% armor to outweigh dmg type bonus.
Concerning Saryn. You forgot one use for Saryn in her section in the end: Venom Dose. It's already easy to stack 14 stacks with her spores in regular gameplay (because you're shooting), but with Venom Dose, you will guarantee those last stacks to occur and strip completely. That said, from my gameplay with a full Umbral Saryn + Growing Power, SP enemies usually die before they even get fully stripped anyway. If they are still alive, a few shots of either my Sporothrix or Dual Toxocyst (with Venom Dose active) strips the rest in seconds.
Violet shards didn't get any hype, but lowkey are the best of the new bunch imo. Can save a mod slot on primaries if going for pure Corossive or Viral + Electric, massive crit boosts for any melee oriented frame and can replace Equilibrium on a frame (though I do wish the values for that effect were a bit higher, 4 taus to match Equilibrium's feels a bit much). Best use case for Emeral shards I've found is for any frame using Tempest Barrage. Full armor strip with viral priming is really good for any camping set-up, my Vauban has been loving that combo since his own armor strip doesn't play nicely with Vortex and is just too slow in armor stripping. Topaz shards are great for blast gating, even despite the nerfs, but that's it. Okay yeah, some extra damage for Radiation based frames is nice I guess, but that's mostly Qorvex and he doesn't need that as the majority of his 4th's damage output comes from modded range and enemy density...
A single tauforged violet is almost an organ shatter on your weapon, has one of the easiest to meet conditions, and crit damage is usually one of the hardest things to add more of so it stacks well. Not a huge fan of the rest of the shard but that always seemed crazy to me. As for Topaz, they dominated the conversation because they were adding flat crit chance which was obviously not intended and could make you actually immortal for near zero investment.
Video idea: it would be short but do a videos about the beast 60% 60% mods, im a legendary 1 and i just found out about these today just browsing the codex and being able to mod viral on my kavat would have been so helpful earlier on. Just having more awareness of them would be great.
The giveaway has now closed, but you can still catch future streams and raffles here: www.twitch.tv/thekengineer
REGARDING SARYN: It was my intent in this video to temper expectations and make clear that merely Saryn+Shards alone is not an instant easy win. That said it is clear I did not highlight the positives remotely enough, so that's on me. I try to keep a balance of explaining things without spending 30 minutes proving 1 + 1 = 2, but I missed that balance this time.
What about zephyr's tornadoes with a toxin weapon, would that work?
please add a spoiler warning to the video if your going to show rank 5 of the cavia. its not fair to those who havent gotten that far. thx
@@ZeninariWhat has been spoiled for you or others?
Hear me out: i just like seeing the enemy health bar go from yellow to red with 100% corrossive strip
Bump
it's kind of obsolete given there are legit between 5-10 frames that can completely strip armor with their abilities some for a permanent duration others for a fixed one
Yea, shame tauforged is useless for that tho
@@theunhingedgamer3762 dont care
@@theunhingedgamer3762 not really because doing so means you cant pick another power that could help you survive better.
Or just...use venom dose and a high fire rate weapon
Moreover, outside of the direct benefit to Saryn, other allies attacking those same spore-laden enemies will find that they can benefit from the increased corrosive cap due to Saryn's spores having affected them.
@@goat_exe with a proper emerald shard build you can literally stand still while spores nuke the map like the old saryn lol
Its just wasted on her spores but lets you add corrosive to her lash and ult too but if you are just a spore lad you dont really need it at all
@@GhostOfBuscemi toxic lash doesn't work and ult deals viral
No build is overkill in Warframe.
@@KrokusOfDagonmy question is why are you running the corrosive stack ones? Just to deal with accolytes? Seems like it would be better to use all Emerald Damage ones or mix in Crimson.
@@KrokusOfDagonyou don’t need extra stacks tho, he innately enhances corrosive so that it 100% armor strips no matter what
I currently have three warframes with two archon shards each.
Link to any good builds? I finally crafted a Titania Prime!
Hey imma need the build too, been experimenting with titania for the longest but never truly thought about using tempest barrage on her, how even is the interaction op? How does it affect the stats shes built with?
Would also love to see how you have this set up.
I would like to see this build as well
you can run your pixias with toxin radiation blast
archon continuity for corrosive procs and nourish for viral
thats some reeally mad stuff
with 2 green shards and youre the king of disruption
Green toxin proc damage shards on Grendel makes him feel even better to play with a build focused on regurgitate, highly recommend giving it a shot.
Level 101 Steel Path Trooper:
10 corrosive stacks: 4.13x
12 corrosive stacks: 7.69x (nice)
13 corrosive stacks: 13.56x
full armor strip: 18.18x
Level 200 Steel Path Bombard:
10 corrosive stacks: 4.73x
12 corrosive stacks: 10.91x
13 corrosive stacks: 32.09x
full armor strip: 90.91x
Thank you! Did you also include the loss of the armour type damage multipliers on full strip?
@@knicklichtjedi Damage spread has too much variance to really calculate for that in a simple way.
However, I did look at Corrosive's resists and weaknesses and it looks like the absolute worst case is going from +75% to +0%. At that point the damage comparison probably boils down to a case by case basis.
@@D0omsday779 Okay ty!
With full strip and accounting for the reduction in damage bonus, the values should be:
Trooper: 10.38x (75% --> 0%)
Bombard: 90.91x (0% --> 0%, but you lose the 75% radiation damage bonus if you had any radiation damage)
From 13.56x to 10.38x is then a noticeable difference if you deal a good chunk of your damage as corrosive.

I put two emerald shards on Titania, and run toxin radiation Dex Pixia with archon continuity to have a build I can run against any faction. I armor strip armored units, bypass the shields of shielded units, and have a little bit of radiation for the murmur faction.

also worth noting that 2x tauforged corrosive stack shards on Hydroid also achieves the full armor strip effect on acolytes and the like. that is considerably more viable, though still questionable
and low level ferrite armor enemies can actually take up to (but not reaching) 75% more corrosive damage (total) compared to fullstrip if you slot in the 98% shard, depending on how low armor they have. was planning on making a quick vid explaining the math and where the breakpoint is so I'm glad this vid didn't steal my thunder there :p
breakpoints are different per enemis. but generally, unless weapons and abilities are dealing pure corrosive, and only when dealing with ferrite armor, full strip is better most of the time.
Could the next video be on the violet shards?
Specifically the interaction with the 10% ability damage on enemies with electric procs and Gyre’s crits
I'm also curious about this
The extra corro stacks also apply to certain bosses/minibosses that usually cap stacks at 4, letting you bypass that cap.
When the update went live I immediately put +4 corrosive stacks on Saryn, something you failed to mention is you build Saryn with 265% ability range, so you armor strip enemies you're not even seeing yet.
as a matter of fact, i took her to Kappa Sedna and most of the time the demolysts were fully stripped when i got to them
Not only that but if they already have 8+ stacks it only takes one brief swing of a corrosive beam weapon to finish the strip.
Come on mate this shard is completely useless on Saryn, just give up on trying to make it work on her. 😉
@@nflhd8678 Too late. It's widespread enough that it's not that hard for DE to miss it. Enjoy while it lasts before DE swings the ban hammer.
I haven't gotten any of these fused shards yet, but oh boy do I want to try them all out on Lavos now.
Saryn with a strength/venom dose augment weapon buffing build goes hard with full armor strip. Beam weapons like a gaze kitgun or nukor rapidly apply corrosive procs and the enemies actually just melt like hot butter in a microwave (oh and nourish too for all of the elements)
Know any good builds? I haven’t played her in a minute
Great videa
I would like to point out that an Excalibur with the chromatic blade mod, modified to toxin damage with enough ability strength can reach over 100% status purely toxin damage and thus seems like a viable pick for the toxin damage over time option ad well.
But I still think I'd be better off switching to a heat based build with the topaz shards for extra crit chance.
would 3 normal red shards n 2 normal topaz work better?
With Mesa you swap to primed convulsion , toxin dual and use heat dual stat instead and it will bias far more
I use Emerald +corro stacks on Qorvex to pair with Nautilus Cordon equipped with Manifold Bond.
1999 *should* have fixed the janky acid shells LoS? But I haven’t checked recently for myself
With a double-Emerald setup, that allows you to fully armor strip with almost contemptuous ease.
saryn + 1 aug + epitaph spam, not a 1 click full strip, but for levelcap it's pretty nice to have
lavos + 2 green shards + archon continuity for corrosive with toxin apply with vial rush + archon vitality for catalyst double dip
Would it be considered overkill if I opt for more corrosive procs using these shards?
i mean yeah kinda unless ur going a lot further
Valence Formation Lavos is stupid kinds of fun. I have two Tauforged greens in him, making my Cedo/Gotva Prime deal full armor strip in SECONDS against late stage Steel Path enemies. Id put melee exposure on my Praedos, but that might be TOO much corrosive
the corrosive stacks on hydroid are beastly, you get almost passive AOE armor strip with his 1 and 4, mostly the one
- 100% Armor Strip
- Viral Procs (and Viral Damage for when the enemy hasn't any armor left)
- Double increased crit damage and more multishot
But Gauss has full armor strip baked into his kit...
Always informative! Keep up the great content.
In a mission I will constantly run into enemies that I already fully armor stripped with 2 green shards.. assuming they didn't die already.
main uses for the corrosive increases are for subsuming tempest barrage on gun frames or frames that cant afford say 328% and or use corrosive projection or armour strip with say terrify or if they use guns with ability's
the way i found it works great is on frames like limbo where u subsume barrage over his 4 (using 1 and 3 into hold cast 1) has he cant allways get damage incresses beyond 500-1000 in squad mission at level 100-150 SP with sometimes it being a hinders so with the use of barrage (it can kill quite well itself) to then strip enemys when u are safe in rift lets u pop out unload your weapons and pop into rift while always helping the team and not hindering them (if u have all frames like mesa then it will not be needed has they can kill through rift but still lets u open up to squad play where u only need to banish rift surge to kill to get stacks on arcane to then gun everything down afterword's without rifting them)
@TheKengineer I'm still curious to see if an explosive legerdemain Mirage build with archon continuity would benefit from emerald shards to strip armor, with sickening pulse of course to push those stacks ;) #DreamBig
Can't wait for the other 2 shards videos
Mesa needs more fire rate for the 2 shard setup to work way better and a better damage bias toward corrosive helps a lot
I now have the perfect thing for my Archon mod Citrine. (Simply for the bonus Archon mods grant to the 4 base elements)Dumb build that sometimes works well on SP
If you haven't already I think you should look at Saryn again but with Archon Continuity and Melee Influence.
If you want to strip 100% armor with any warframe, just subsume embers ability on them, cast it 2 times and boom, red health bars all around.
Just subsume tharos strike at that point, tbh
Saryn toxic lash and spore venom dose are perfect for green shards +4 stacks from shards makes spore 100% armor strip , venom dose ,toxoc lash with duel ichor incarnate equals room wipe need melle influence and have the ichor main dmg electric. I run nourish venom dose toxic lash for viral toxic and corrosive on all weapons , second buld xata whisper over nourish . Also thoes 3 buffs on a ocucuor is broken to the max with sentient surge
the corocive buff should reduce the number of procs needed to armor stip not up the number you can apply, this way having more than two on would be a much biger benefit and also make emerald tau shards very valuable
what I mean is with one youll only need 8 procs to reach what 10 would do, and at 10 would be the effect of having 12, so if you want all in and had five normal shards youll get the effect of 10 procs on that first status, and with all five tau youll have on one prock the effect of having 15 a.k.a 100% strip in one proc
but I assuem this would make them too strong even though we have a plethra of ways to fully stip with helminth and abilities

i miss the old ogris model so much, i wish they'd at least have made it an optional skin for anyone that had it before the change
There's definitely no synergy between Saryn, Xata's whisper and Kuva Ogris.
Amprex with corrosive goes brrrr
I'm using one tauforged for the 98% armor strip then either have my teammates oneshot stripped enemies or just finish them with melee/or whatever.
It's my go to Weapon on my Wisp build for SP stuff for the insanely fast application of corrosive procs.
I unironically use a health tanking setup with banshee
Some armor archon shards , arcane blessing, and gloom + silence stun let her be honestly really tanky even well into steel path
Plus resonance sonar means you absolutely nuke stuff
If your talking about saryn specifically archon continuity does not work on toxic lash it only works on molt when it explodes just dropping this info because I bought archon continuity and was very disappointed when I found this out
@@lucky3d341 If you look at the original comment you can see we are talking about exalted weapons, which archon cont does work and is very useful.
@@2BsWraith If YOU look at the original comment, the discussion is about Exalted weapons AND SARYN
@@CrashSable Literally the majority of the op was about exalted weapons, saryn was a passing thought. Please don't be that guy.
What about toxin lash saryn with the archon vitality mod ( if i remember correctly ) which will allow for any weapon to proc toxin from abilities and thus corrosive from the archon mod. You can then amplify your damage output by having viral/slash/heat/electricity.
Perhaps toxin lash on a viral heat incarnoned dual ichor which leaves residual toxin clouds?!
there's something you forgot, there's a mod that makes toxin type abilities deal additional corrosion status
okay and
thats useless
@noahedenborg4221 no it's not💀
@@noahedenborg4221 you are wrong
@@noahedenborg4221Grendel, Voruna, Saryn, Lavos, Citrine, etc., would like to know your location 😂
unfortunately you need an ability capable of dishing out that many status procs to begin with.
Fellow Grendel mains, we eating good
yall exist?
I wish I could join the Grendel cult but I cant stand the obnoxiously low range of his 1st ability and the depressing damage of his meatball, plus many ranges dont even scale with ability range
meatball is only there to open up the subsume options. . .
@@DariusDarkest you are not invited to my grendel BP
@@thebeyonder4961whaaaa i think i only have stretch on and i can eat most enemies i can see on most tilesets also meatball is just for subsuming, been maining him since he came out and probably used meatball under 20 times
if u spread spore u add more status corrosive and strip armor fast
:(
Me using a toxic lavos with the corrosive archon mod and the helminth ability for max stacks/doubler my time has come
I understand these tests and everything take time but are you gonna do video on each new shard? The fused shards seem to be past the early beta test stage already.
0:09 4 different options?
red + blue = purple
red + yellow = orange
blue + yellow = green
what am i missing?
You're missing the alternative interpretation of what I said. "This allows you to merge two archon shards together into a new type for four different options..." two shards, eg red and blue, into a new type, eg purple, for four options, eg four options on the purple shard.
You forget corro stack cap is usefull on weapons, you can use 2 green on any frame to make sp easier with a high corro weapon
Sheee, don't tell people about the interaction with Saryn + Melee Influence and Dual Ichor Incaron. 20 seconds is more like 3 seconds.
do orange shards next pls
Wish there was summary at the end of each video you made
we need two other videos for the other 2 shards!
I have 5 violet on kullervo for the crit damage and its pretty good
Corrosive Kuva Nukor and Ocucor... once again my beloved Tenet Cycron gets passed by
Video idea: it would be short but do a videos about the beast 60% 60% mods, im a legendary 1 and i just found out about these today just browsing the codex and being able to mod viral on my kavat would have been so helpful earlier on. Just having more awareness of them would be great.
