As we continue building our stone house in the foothills of the Italian alps, we open another doorway, hand hew a few more beams, and finish off the door way with the new wood beams.

We are Heather, Bradey, Alexa and Chloe. We purchased an abandoned stone barn in the foothills of the Italian Alps and we are working together as a family to renovate and restore this old stone barn into our dream home.
I love that you're showing the masters at work, and highlighting that it is nowhere near as easy as they make it look. A lot of building skills aren't super well respected, but they should be because they are just as important and applicable today as they were 700 years ago.
💯%
100% agree
Absolutely agree with you! Craftsman are hard to come by these days. These men are geniuses at their trades. Their skills rival any wealth management advisor, CPA, professor, etc.
This home will be a masterpiece for another 500 years.
❤❤❤
It's a masterpiece now.
More this is not Amerulicano Canadien fake
@@johnnyachillesjelinek6765 Huh??? Please explain your comment I don't want to misinterpret it.
👍
the two stone masons have crazy skills. blending in a new doorway with the old walls is unbelievable.
Hi,Sooo exciting to see and also lots of hard work.im so happy for your family your going to have a beautiful home.
If Battista's teasing you a little bit, now you can proudly say you 're part of his building team! As always, an amazing job 😊
Love the Master teaching the student. An old skill being handed down to the next generation. So Awesome. Reminds me of my dad teaching me his trade. I'm so grateful for all he taught me while he was alive. Its a dying art. Learn as much as you can while you have these craftsmen with you.
And to have some of their techniques on film!
Priceless.
My Sunday routine. I come home from church, get my coffee, and watch Raising Voyagers! My hubby knows this routine is set in stone.... watching a house of stone! What an amazing house of stone this is. It has stood the test of time and will continue to do so as a work of art! 💜 I'm so glad you both chose to share your journey on RUclips. So much trash on the media that it's refreshing to have your videos, something life giving to watch. Yes, this new life you both are "breathing into your family" is lifegiving to witness. Your dedication and energy Brady with the talented crew you hired is wonderful to behold. Heather, thank you for all the work you do to edit and prepare these videos for us. The beams and doorways are beautiful! Such craftmanship. Have a blessed week!!
Yes, Sunday is dedicated to God, meditation, reading, and then gardening ...so I don't always get to the Voyagers then, but as soon as I can get to them they are usually the first among a few other favorites. They are such a joy to watch!! 🥰☺💓💞💖
The back breaking work you do is just astonishing.. you deserve all good things for you and your family together an amazing team.
I totally agree!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Battista is so wholesome. You can tell he showed off and teased a bit because he got flattered, and to humble often invisible hardworkers like him it doesn't happen often. He also was genuinely passionate about teaching to Brady, otherwise he wouldn't have corrected him and made him try.
Yes! Exactly!!!
I wait for this every Sunday morning with my coffee.
😊
I do too...❤
I do too❤
Me too. From Mississippi.
Me too! From Michigan
Me too ❤
You are doing amazing! Just remember Brady, this builder has probably being doing this type of work for more than 50 years, it’s not an easy task to render, & build ancient walls etc, it takes many years of experience to get to his level! Everyone can see how incredibly hard you work, Gosh, how many others would do the amount of work you have done around such experience people, & in a foreign Country…..Not many! Please don’t be so hard on yourself, I’m sure Heather tells you this often too! Just look at what you have achieved so far in such a short amount of time! Take care, with all my love, & big hugs to you all. From Aberdeenshire, Scotland ❤🤗xxx
Those beams, that doorway... STUNNING! The skill of your helpers is amazing! You are so blessed to have them. True Master Builder/Artisans.
We could see why she is speechless. It just adds so much character with the timeline of the home and country. It looks like it belongs up there.. Good job!
It is wonderful to watch these artists at work!!
I find these Italian artisans absolutely amazing. I am in awe of them all.
I look forward to these videos every Sunday!!!
🥰
Me too.
Wow, that rendering was amazing. Its sad we are probably losing such craftspeople all over. Love watching this renovation.
They will return in some shape or form !
Battista's teasing you is so cute and you know you are one of the team, but he can sure flick that plaster. Those chestnut beams are amazing Brady. Your home is going to be fantastic when finished, though I must say I look forward to watching you and this incredible team of masons working together. They are amazing and one does not get to see people of this calibre working like this so much. Love it.
Congratulations for 300k subscribers🎉
Thank you 😊
Woo Hoo!
You can be lucky having such skilled workers. Now its time to start seriously to learn Italian language.
I thought Brady is doing really well talking to the guys
The American chestnut was wiped out a century ago, thats why its so expensive . I remember them and how absolutely beautiful they were. You could stand under them during the rain and hardly get a drop. Climbing them was like climbing to the moon it was so big we would play on them all day. I miss them, they are like old friends.
Chestnut is a special tree for sure!
here in Italy, at least in the north, the chestnut has now almost become a pest since the end of agricultural civilization in the mountains. chestnut and oak trees were placed on the borders of cultivated lands and pastures, to provide food for humans and animals, and the end of the maintenance of land for agricultural purposes caused an enormous proliferation of chestnut-only woods and the disappearance of meadows. the problem is also that the chestnut tree tends to be acidic, its presence and its leaves on the ground sour the soil, prevents creating a real undergrowth, but at most brambles, ferns and brooms. long live the use of chestnut as construction wood, it could save biodiversity, but unfortunately it currently costs companies less to obtain pine wood from Austria and Eastern Europe.
The linseed oiled beams look beautiful when you look at them next to the stones.
These videos are such a rare opportunity to watch stone masons both tearing down and building back. I just realized that although I will be super happy for you, I will miss it.
Workmanship at its best!
What an education you’re getting from these craftsmen. Priceless
Watch your back Brady!! Easy to get hurt … great work. What a unique and special place to call home
After watching the amazing transformation of these old stone buildings into your home, we will need to come visit you to see it once it's finished.
Those doors are breathtaking! The stonemasons are true craftsmen... Beautiful work.
The stone masons are wonderful craftsmen. They do beautiful work. Even rendering the wall looks beautiful. It will all be worth the hard work in the end. Kudos to everyone. 😊
The newer hewed linseed oiled beams look fantastic. A modern change on a newer renovation. In time they too will be an enduring testament. The rebuilt stone openings reusing felled stones will be a game changer: color contrast, strength, more esthetically pleasing, more airy and accessible. A joy to watch the weekly changes.
the men helping are master craftsmen!
These craftspeople you have hired are absolutely amazing. How lucky to have found them. Everything is looking incredible.
Wow, Bradley and Heather, I really admire the hard work you put into this old stone house! It is amazing to see all the determination and effort. Wow, wow, the end results going to be extraordinary beautiful! Thanks for the video. Please send our love to the little ones. Can't wait until next Sunday. Melinda from South-Africa 👏🏻👋🏻🙏🏻👋🏻👏🏻🦋🦋
Bravo-----This is an example of good internet!!!!! Every Sunday I await your next post. Watching the transformation of this building into a home has amazed me in so many ways. The OCD part of my personality looks at the outside and wonders when will it ever get cleaned up lol. The artist inside of me just marvels at the transformation. I love watching old world artisans at work. I love watching your hard work and love for restoration. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Bravo
The disaster outside drives me crazy but I would rather build than clean 😂
Wow!!! I am so impressed with the crews you have doing the stone and concrete work. They are truly masters at their art. Your hard work and tenacity do you credit. Your home will be a masterpiece!!!❤❤❤

Nice! I look forward to these videos 👍😀❤
I'm so proud of your fortitude and daring. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure.
Thank you so much!! ❤️
A couple of hard and fast rules about chainsawing:
1) Never, ever, look directly down on the blade while sawing. If the saw kicks back, you WILL take it in the face, and those injuries, if you survive are horrific!
2) Never cut on the rounded tip. One is begging for a kick back!
Amazing project and dedication / patience. A masterpiece for generations to come. You fols are the Michelangelo of house /home builders.
Thank you so much!!
Wow! From picking colors to knocking down walls of stone? You go guys!!! 😀
😁
Gorgeous pieces of wood made rustic by your own hands and hard work❤
Oh you’ve hit 300 subscribers…very nice..coffee time!
Thank you my friends
I have been following your channel and viewing each and every video ever since you bought this Stone House. Especially so since I will be getting my home sometime around this year. I love constructions, especially when old structures are rebuilt. Do maintain your health, do not break your backs and I look forward to the day you complete the rebuild and decorate as well! Best Wishes Heather, Bradey, Alexa and Chloe! 🥰
Absolutely beautiful! I so enjoy watching the process and seeing how things can be constructed without using all the technology we have today. I own a stone house in the UP of Michigan, and take a lot of what you are doing to your home as inspiration for future projects!
You were lucky, the bricklayers in the province of Bergamo are famous for being very efficient and hard workers.
Venice was built by bergamasc masons. They are the hardest working people in the world.
This italian "Sir" is outstanding ! Incredible !
A real magician !! 67 years !!!!!!!!!
Yes, 8x8 chestnut beams , especially here in the USA are rare and expensive. A blight wiped nearly all mature American Chestnut trees so an 8x8 here costs a ton. Wormy Chestnut in particular, salvaged from old barns and other structures, is very, very expensive.
Very rare but beautiful wood. Here is exceptionally common but is also very prized. So thrilled with how it looks’
Exquisite. When you hire the masters you learn from the masters. Thank you for sharing.
Especially when they willingly teach you.
My heart was in my mouth when you were knocking that doorway through!
Thank you for the captions. Much love for you and your little family from Kentucky USA.
It's a breath away, how beautiful looks, the view awe 😮
Incredible!! The new doorway looks amazing!! 🎉🎉🎉
Amazing progress and workmanship 👍🥰👍
What a treat to come across this weeks video right before bedtime. The house is really coming together, and the team you have are master craftsmen. Looks like rendering the wall is all in the wrist action. 😉
Good job you all work so hard love watching you guys...
I am watching this channel since a few months now. I am surprised that I love it so much. Normally I am looking True Crime, but I am so addicted to it. Can you tell me when the family began with this huge project?
26:40: that plasterer 😂 superb skill👏👏👏
Ur home is coming together nicely, and u r a part of making it amazing, and it will last another 6 to 7 hundred years. I envy what u both have accomplished with this stone home, and all the love u have put into it ❤
Your home will be stronger and nicer than ever before.😄🎉
I think what you are doing, together with your master craftsmen, absolutely amazing, Brady. I keep praying you have enough energy and good health to complete the endless work there. I'm so glad you can show us in such detail all this work nobody does anymore except in a few hundred years' old house with a couple of master stone masons from the region! And now seeing your new chair, I'm sure it's the first thing you head for after a day on the job here! Continuing good luck, health, blessings, and love to you and your family.
I love watching the masters of craft at work❤️
Hi, the relationship you have with the artisans is great. The fact that they let you work along with them is amazing. I grew up in France and it's awesome that they show you how they do their work. And then when they tell you 'molto benne' is so cool. It's a great way to learn. 🎉
My ranch in Canada had a rare oak tree on it…plus it was the site of an ancient pathway with an original trading post on it .
Sounds lovely!!
Very cool!😊
Look forward to Sundays ...can't wait to see the finished house !!!
Tá ficando lindo, to anciosa par ver pronto, kisses
I am in awe of this Stone Mason doing the stone shaping and laying....WOW! JUST WOW!
