- It's not quite cheese since his range attacks can still hit you. However it's definitely a much easier fight to approach it with range only.

His lightning attacks are ridiculously laser targeted he can hit you with it even if you run back down the hall! Make sure you have plenty of health flasks as one hit takes a lot of your health away. Thanks for providing this solution I think this enemy is worse to fight than the majority of bosses.
glad it helped! his lightning is brutal!
He’s harder than the boss, tbh , every fight leading up to any boss at this point is harder than the actual boss fight . Even the bears are stronger than some of the bosses
Thank you so much for this tip. I could not defeat him in any other way. Need to make sure if you try to snipe him that you really are prepared to dodge the lightning attack. It seems that the devs made the odds of a failed roll dodge always have the effect of knocking you back toward the drop into the abyss and I had this happen about 20 times until I got it right. Appreciate the video. Best of luck to you on your further YT posts.
Glad it helped and thanks for the tip!
Man this really helped me. This is my second play through but I can't for the life of me figure out how I beat this guy the first time through. It had to be luck!
glad it helped!
Thanks for the cheese, it helped greatly. Ended using Jar Cannon+8 along with lightning great bolts to take him down. But his lightning is no joke. No matter where I rolled, it struck me. Ended up gearing up with higher lightning negation, it helped.
yah, his lightning is brutal. glad it helped!
Struggling with this delightful chap. Thanks to Geek Globe for the video, but thanks to you for reminding me I have talismans that negate lightning damage, easy to forget sometimes! I might try out the Jar Cannon tomorrow!
This fight is an utter joke. I can easily get him to half health on foot, and then it just gets lousy. His call lightning attack is almost guaranteed to wreck you and can hit seemingly regardless of what I do.
are you doing the fight head on or attempting this method? also, if you don't want to fight him, i think you can just run past him and enter the fog gate. i'm not 100% sure on that though.
@@GeekGlobe Hadn't tried this method yet as didn't have the arrows needed. I was trying it head on. Shouldn't 'have' to resort to cheese to defeat something but this fight absolutely feels like you need to. You can just run past him though and get through the gate. Then make sure to move forward quickly as he can still hit you through it!!
Great video. That lightning keeps hitting me, but it works
Glad it helped!
Thqnks! It still works as of 04/16/23 better to use rock sling when he gets close it deals more damage.😁👍
Glad it still works! Thanks for the tip
Love this game but the fairness of DS3 keeps this game on number two DS3 being the number one soulsgame for me Elden ring is just to much jam-packed with Bs bosses and mini bosses
i still rank bloodborne as my #1. ds3 was a great game though!
@@GeekGlobe haven't played Bloodborne yet Wich is really a shame I'm thinking of trying it out
Bloodborne has always been my #1 as well. Elden is probably second now. I’m currently burnt on DS3 after weeks of grinding going after the platinum.
lmao... I poisoned him it took like 1/10 of his hp. Then I attacked him once and his lightning yeeted me off the edge.
yah, those lightning attacks are brutal
@@GeekGlobe Ended up going with someone's suggestion below. Kill the boss and use the invisible wall.
he does an unholy amount of damage holy jesus
yah, he's brutal!
Yeah i get him to about the same sub 50% health even with this then get flung off the edge by his lazor bolts.
Nice idea for sure but you can maybe inflict poison once or twice after the intital proc.. once he start moving and spamming that lightning how are you meant to get 5-6 shot to hit to proc the poison again with him spamming fireballs and the god lazor?
Tough.
Just use rot arrows, exact same as poison but a lot more damage
Boss ahead,
And then, boss...
LOL pretty much!
up until he knocks you off the edge with lightning
I dunno if they just made the lightning faster or what, but i have found no way to avoid his lightning attack. It seems to come out almost instantly by the time you lower the bow your eating dirt or worse, he just yeets you off the building. He can hit you through walls, it has near infinite range, and it's just honestly Bullshit...i have no clue how to deal with this one... cant take him on directly... cant use range, cant melee as i'm not built for it. Just feels kind of unfair and full of cheese.
they may have patched it to be more aggressive since i made this video. you can run past him and enter the fog door if you don’t want to deal with him at this time.
@@GeekGlobe This is true, but you get there minus the hp he took on the run there and you get immediately attacked on the other side. ONCE (one time) out of about 20 tries I was able to summon my spirit. The Draconic Tree Fucker is bullshit and they need to fix it. Hes harder than most important bosses.
FYI: this spot doesn’t seem to work on Xbox 1 because the enemy doesn’t render in
really? that's interesting... this was captured on a ps5 so it is possible that it doesn't work on xbox (even though that still seems odd since it should essentially be the same code). i guess if you do get it to work, please give us an update. sorry this didn't help you :(
@@GeekGlobe The main difference is the hardware. It might work on Xbox series s, but Xbox 1 is old stuff by now. In order to save resources and make the game not lag, stuff like render distance is decreased. I got it eventually though. It was still helpful insofar as getting me some golden runes.
It worked for me on Xbox. I used the arrows just to get him moving. Then I insulated with lightning negation incantations and consumables. Used Loretta’s Greatbow every time he got close enough for a target lock. Roll as soon as his shield starts to drop to avoid the lightning. Still got zapped a few times due to my poor timing. I ended up running past him my first play through because for me he was the hardest anything in the game and I was over it. It was nice to bury him this time.
Try going to the upper most floor. There is a spot where there is more space to snipe them as well
Why is this mini-boss harder than any of the story bosses?
It's ridiculously broken. The AI cheats, it can see you through walls, can shoot infinite fireballs that track you, etc.
And looking on Wikis and videos, everyone says to cheat it like this or using Dragon rot.
You can't trade with it really because it can hit pretty much 360 degrees around it, and has a huge red lighting axe AOE. If you try to run away to heal there is only a tiny window before you get hit with a fireball, lighting strike, or clobbered because it has like double the recovery speed from any colossal weapon I've tried. And even with full bullgoat on and 60 vigor it's only one to three of the Knights hits to death.
AFAIK you have to have a specific build for it. Like mostly heavy armor, and a top upgraded shield like the Finger one.
Or be way over leveled.
Update: I found out how to beat it. It's more about longevity and position control than anything. See the reply I made.
He's definitely an 11 on difficulty scale
I took a few days break and came back and figured it out.
Mainly this one is about longevity.
What you want to do is stay behind the horse although you can stay for a while on the side opposite of his shield.
On the side where his shield hangs is where he swings his axe so stay away from that one.
From behind the knight's horse do a quick L1 attack then maintain your position, roll back behind if you need to.
Don't get greedy, just stick and move. If you get to hurt instead of doing the L1 attack, heal, then move and wait for the next cycle to hit again.
Then what happens after about 15 seconds or so staying behind the horse the knight will just start walking away as if he got bored with you.
This is an opportune time to do a powerful skill or charged attack to his back. If you are hurt, heal instead however.
Then roll back off his non-shield side back behind the horse to repeat the cycle.
Keep chipping away at it. Use large cycle to put in a bigger hits and before you know it the knight will be dead.
This was a ROB build that I switched to that had no shield. This method should work with any build though.
P.S. My friend said he was able to consistently parry the boss (which dismounts the knight).
But I haven't practiced parry enough to get the timing down, wasn't an option for me.
Thank you so much gonna try this
happy to help!
i missed the banished knight with the spear
Not sure if this was patched or not, but he doesn't show up when I go to the spot
EDIT: just saw the other comments having the same issue, maybe this is something that only works on Ps5 an PC then. I'm playing on PS4
they patched it so he won't show at this spot now. They apparently want us to right up fight this dic and get our asses kicked over and over again.
Im on ps4 and it works for me
I’m NG+ lvl 280 , can’t get pass this guy
any luck?
Jesus, This doesnt look good for me...Im on try 34 at lvl 185.
Great cheese, thanks 🧀
glad it helped!
The world mini bosses in this game have to be my least favorite of any from software game. Trash designs .
Yeah it doesn’t make any sense , they are wayyy stronger than the actual boss fights
You are Awsome! This night sucks ass! Thanks bro!
Glad it helped!
I know I'm a bit late, but does he respawn after you kill him? Or is he considered a regular enemy?
he does not respawn
@@GeekGlobe thank god
He's a boss, brother
@@M0RGAT0RY just taking a precaution, didn’t want to have to fight him every time I lose to Maliketh
where to get that lightning spell that hit me not matter how far and out of sight I go?
you have to dodge it. i'm unaware of any location you can go that he won't be able to hit you with. watch his arm and once he jolts it downwards, dodge. you should be fine.
I think they might have patched this, he doesn't spawn for me when I go here.
it sounds like he may not spawn on ps4/xbone hardware. are you playing on those or current gen?
Can you run past him?
You should be able to, unless they patched to make him required.
@@GeekGlobe thanks man.
I think this is a anti cheese boss just study his moves a little stay close as possible and widdle him down was alot easier than getting blasted off the stairs and balcony over and over. I used spear and shield veteran set and boltdrake talisman +2, roll and attack while blocking much as possible got him on 4th try
This no longer works as of 7/2/22
What system on you on? It seems that the asset doesn't load in ps4/xbone consoles. Should still work on ps5/series s/x though
@@GeekGlobe damn, im on ps4
Think this got patched
it's possible. i believe this was recorded on ver 1.02. what is it doing (or not doing) currently?
I'm on ver 1.09. Now the sentinel's ranged attack goes right through wall. I've got the serpent bow with poison arrows and Arcane 60, so I poison things really fast. Poisoned him easily the first few arrows while he was in his starting position. After that he moves forward and never resets his position (even when I run back to the site of grace) and I don't have time to poison him before he spams his bolt. I spam roll but he hits me with pretty much every bolt from a thousand miles, right through all the rock walls. Talk about BS. A mini-boss that tracks you at long distance through walls. Tried to beat him about 40 times in straight combat, to no avail. Infinitely harder to kill, at least for my build, than Malenia, who I soloed at a much lower level in about 20 tries. Can run by him to fight boss (Maliketh is much easier than this sentinel), but then have to do all your buffs while being attacked by boss. Guess I'm just stubborn, but I'm determined to beat this guy.
bruh Im pretty sure it got patched
Are you playing current gen or last gen? Also what's it doing now (or not doing)? Last comment I've seen is that it still works.
He's not even there when I went to that location so, sorry but this didn't help me
there was another viewer who said the same thing. they were on last gen console. you?
Wtf is this, a good balanced game? If you should doing crap like this. In my opinion this game is pure garbage. And freaking rolls on boss fights is just stupid . Worst Miyazaki game by far. 👎
