    ABOUT THIS GAME
In the space-colony simulation game Oxygen Not Included you'll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. Guide colonists through the perils of subterranean asteroid living and watch as their population grows until they're not simply surviving, but thriving...
Just make sure you don't forget to breathe.
Build Extensive Bases and Discover What it Takes to Survive:
Everything in your space colony is under your control, from excavation and resource allocation right down to plumbing and power systems. Resources will begin depleting with your first breath, however, so be sure to dig fast if you want to live.
It's Mind Over Matter with Stress Simulations:
Keep the psychological impact of survival at bay with fun leisure activities, great accommodations and even better food for your colony. Duplicants each have different and potentially destructive ways of reacting to stress, so be sure to always keep them happy. Whatever the cost.
    Avoid Boiling with Thermodynamics:
Temperature control is a constant concern in space; too cold and you'll freeze, too hot and you'll fry. Keep tabs on ambient environmental temperatures and your colony's heat production to maintain a nice, cozy atmosphere for your colonists.
Enhance Efficiency through Complex Gas and Liquid Simulations:
Create interlocking pipe systems to swiftly deliver fuel and liquid to critical areas of your base. Plan well and be rewarded as your colony transforms into an imperishable, well-oiled machine.
Take Charge with Power Grid Simulations:
Choose from a multitude of power sources including coal, hydrogen, natural gas or just plain old elbow grease. Manage power runoff, circuit overloads and meltdowns to keep your colony running smoothly.
    Always Keep Yourself Breathing:
Enter the Oxygen Overlay and watch air moving through your base in real time. Monitor carbon dioxide accumulation and oversee oxygen generation processes to mold your colony into a veritable deep-space oasis.
    Waste Nothing through Extreme Recycling:
Make use of every last resource for a base that truly exemplifies efficiency. Recycle waste into precious fuel, process unbreathable gas into air or harness the natural processes of wild creatures for food. If you're clever, you might even be able to run a base off colonist farts.
Explore Diverse, Procedurally Generated New Worlds:
Summon new worlds with a push of a button. Experience tons of untamed space rocks, then suffocate in them!

May i suggest a "Natural Alternative" colony, if there's a way to acquire the goods naturally Vs mechanically it must be done naturally. Call it Nature Lover/ Tree hugger series maybe.
-- I also see many play-thrus dumping their Carbon dioxide after they hit petroleum rockets, instead of saving it for a slickster ranch.
seldom seen in play-thru's are gassy moo setups and is the brackene you get worth it? I think by the time someone gets to 3000 cycles to " acquire" the Moo", they close the series due to burnout.
-- Chloring gas to Squeaky puff to lettuce to sage hatch for increased coal output and infinite loop with two food sources, instead of everyone's swap out to stone hatch, eventually you run out of granite and have to build a regolith melter for the igneous rock to continue feeding them which lags the game.
-- Polluted oxygen to puft prince to mushroom to keep your Squeaky ranch going. Or building a dense puft ranch for the Oxylite for rockets.
These ranches take quite a bit of automation but i think once their setup would they be worth the effort VS building machines and throwing power at the problem in the long run only to eventually run out of materials, like granite slime etc.
Other ideas for a Tree hugger series, Solar ( of course), shine bug reactor! although this isnt very animal friendly, ha! maybe just slickster powered sour gas boiler if necessary. After all its about getting the most from everything you use. Gulp fish/ Sanishell for water cleaner, Smooth hatch for refining, Shine bugs for lighting, leading into abyss bugs so you have to use an otherwise unwanted material Abyssalite and radiant bugs for the decor. ( having the mod Wrangle fliers helps) Could also build the rooms into the specific biomes keeping as much material in place as possible to make it even more interesting.
I feel most play-thru series are advanced quickly to keep the audience entertained. I prefer to watch highlights of a playthru and go into specific builds for the how and why to learn more about the game along the way using unique builds into the base.
A RUclipsr named Comet Gaming did a series 4 years ago called "Overly Scienced" and did a great job explaining each specific builds and the math behind each build. They were not anything special but i appreciated the math behind the build which Brothgar also typically did. I think most new players need the math behind it, because just replicating it sometimes wont work when dealing with heating and cooling.
As always love your ONI vids. Not sure if you're up to doing a natural Alternative series, maybe a Natural alternative builds comparison vs tried and true methods. Although it would be interesting to see how it plays out when built into a series. It's great to learn how the various critters and elements intertwine and i feel a series like this would showcase the idea that ONI had in the first place.
ONI seems to be my goto game, like you, I love to explore a new map and solve its challenges to keep the colony going. My latest game is around 1500 cycles, and yes the lag is bad. i started it before the Frosty pack Dropped unfortunately. I can get the various new creatures to drop in the Printing Pod, everything except the Pikeapple for some reason. Im not sure about the new creatures in Frosty how they could be used in a natural alternative, Im still trying to push thru my current game.,
    Game On Nathan..

If you do another ultimate base, it should absolutely be a different way to to start. I did like the challenge of doing a swamp moonlet to start. Maybe next you could do an arbor trees and ethanol base.
One thing I would definitely like to see is some of the late game stuff you havent really dove into that deep. Things like the gassy moos and the beetas.

I know it's not Minecraft, but I have been searching your videos and can't find the modded series of Minecraft with a such distinctive base. Your voice is quite similar and I am glad to find the previous name of the channel was in fact Redstone Nightmare, a channel I used to watch quite well years ago, along with the distinctive intro. But alas, I can't find the playlist of the series.
If I am mistaken, why is the series not published anymore?
Side note, I love your Factorio and ONI series (even though by record I wasn't signed in to YT).

Yeah i dont think thats a smart choice man. The answer is never to stop playing a game in favor of a new one, the answer is to keep playing the game WHILE adding another game, which means yeah, youre gonna have to release more videos, which means more work, but hey. Its a job man, its not always fun. If you thought being a content creator would mean you can control your work schedule, ive got a bridge to sell you 😂😂 i mean you could, but you wont make any money. Palworld is a good game, but its extremely limited at this point. You may be able to squeeze 15-20 episodes out and thats it, the games pretty dry in terms of content. Not to mention its a grind too, alot of the content is locked behind a level cap which takes forever to get to. Its a can of worms type of game, if youve got 8-10 hours a day of continuous playtime you might could be on track to release an episode once every 2-4 days. Problem being: alot of your subscribers are here for ONI. If you cut that entirely youll sever 10-15% of your subs who will go where they can see new ONI content. Im just sayin man, how wrapped up in content creating do you wanna be here? Things to think about. I will say this: if you cut ONI entirely, ill unsub. All im here for is ONI. 🤷🏻‍♂️ it is what it is. You make your bed how you want to, but realize youre gonna have to lay in it, so might as well make it right so youre not miserable.

    • @Nathans-Sandbox

I see your point, but you're missing a lot of context here. I've been making RUclips videos for 8 years before I started to make any noteworthy money. And even then it was always less money than just working my normal job. At some point it was Cities Skylines that gave me the most views, another point it was Factorio and another was ONI. Heck, I've made my first 5k subs with Minecraft 10 years ago.
I've never been very successful, but I've been consistent in uploading gaming content and I think I know a little about how my channel develops with specific content. I've learned that the number of subs I have doesn't really matter at my size. If we're simply talking numbers, it is foolish to make this many ONI episodes while interest in the series declined around episode 40 or so. I love ONI, so it was an easy choice to play it and I will be playing it in the future. However, the answer is not to keep playing the same game. I've got plenty of non-ONI content that (number-wise) is worth dozens of ONI episodes. If I, as you phrase it, want this to be a job that makes me money, then I have to rely on the algorithm to send the video out to non-subscribers. Every video I've ever made good money on has more views from non-subs than subs, 100% of the time.
You see, I wish subscribers mattered more, that's why I've been mostly faithful to the 3 major games I've played on the channel. But I've missed so many opportunities playing other games I also would enjoy, just to be able to serve a video to a few thousands subs for maybe 10 bucks. Don't get me wrong, it's what I enjoyed doing and I was very happy with my community and my channel. I just wanted to make a point that I've never treated this channel as my job, just a little side-hustle/hobby while working my normal job and taking care of my family.
You of course can unsub whenever I release a video about another game, it always happens with a few. But I absolutely have a chance of being more successful and happy playing something other than ONI. I will always come back to my 3 games for the channel, but I've been restricting myself to playing only certain games for the channel because of my limited time for years and missed out on a lot of enjoyment I could have gotten just as a gamer, not a RUclipsr.

@@Nathans-Sandbox well if you want my unsolicited advice i think you mighta shot yourself in the foot by making yourself a supercut episode, because once i saw you had those coming out every 40 episodes or so it was almost not necessary to watch your individual episodes because i could always catch the supercut once it came out. That mighta been the nail in the coffin so to speak in terms of views per episode. Truth be told i think if you streamed on twitch and really pumped your twitch channels plugs hard on this channel, youd get some serious revenue. Like towards the end of every episode remind your viewers that ukno, “hey i also stream on twitch every (whatever it is) monday wednesday and saturday from 2-4pm!” (Again, the times are irrelevant in this context, pick your favorite and run with it) twitch is extremely handy for content creators because it allows your viewers to directly and monetarily show support for you through the use of super chats. You can also do Q and A sessions utilizing the superchat feature which is a HUGE cash cow, once a week do an ask me anything kinda stream and just bullsh*t with your viewers while you jam on a low energy game like palworld. I mean dang, if you streamed something else like diablo 4 or against the storm or even something like destiny or minecraft you could draw in new audiences and gain new subs, all the while plugging one platform while on the other. During your stream you could plug your youtube channel, plus on twitch you dont have the added labor of having to edit your videos before they go live, as its a livestream. At any rate, i like your channel and i want to see you succeed, itd be great to see you quit your day job and become a full time content creator because that means more content for all of us! What i mean to say is i think you might find more success if you STARTED treating this like a job instead of a side hustle kinda thing. Youre already ahead of the curve, all you need is a bit more content and a more direct line of cash flow to motivate you and you could really make some good money.
