  • This is the greatest model casio has ever made, in my humble opinion. This is an in-depth review. Ask any questions.

    I just bought one of these and I have to agree - it's got to rank as the finest G-Shock Casio has ever produced. The definitive digital watch.

    It is about the same size as the dw-5600e, just a bit thicker and bit heavier. Definetely worth in my opinion. Here are the official sizes 48.9 × 42.8 × 13.5mm/73.8g. Thanks for watching.

  • @fer557

    That is a very personal question, I am biased towards quartz watches because I don't like how much time automatics loose, which is at least a couple of seconds a day when they are good and that I have to adjust the date every other month. With the atomic function I never worry if the time/day/date is correct. So me personally, yes but it a personal decision that has to do with your persona. I will say, that right now is a good time to buy a GW-5000 because the yen is cheap.

      Hi, I no longer have this watch. Switched to an Apple Watch a couple of years ago. But I am debating getting another one.

  • @fer557
    @fer557  11 лет назад +1

    I don't think this is an issue with newer G-Shocks, the old ones did have this though, but at very extreme angles especially vertical angles it is harder to read. This has a great screen and very legible digits. It will never be as good as some analogs with hands that reflect light, but you do have an EL. Look at my GW-5000B vs GW-5000 video so you can get an idea of the display in low light.

  • @fer557
    @fer557  11 лет назад +1

    the gw5000 is extremely comfortable, and it is more practical, unless you wear a suit 5 days a week and you can only afford one watch the gw-5000 is better, in my opinion. I, however, do wear my GW-5000 with a suit about half the time :).

    it definitely looks regular, which is something I like, but others do not. There is a GW-5000B, you can see it in one of my other videos. It is basically a metal case negative display GW-M5610 with dlc buttons, dlc buckle, and black screws. They are discontinued but you can get them in yahoo auctions japan and 2 or 3 show up in the sales forum on WUS. It will probably cost 450-650

    I've been debating between the GW-5610 and GW-5000. I'm seriously doubting the GW-5000 is worth the price when you can get the GWM-5610 for nearly 3 times less. The module is the same. Only difference is the different look, DLC coating on the stainless steel, and slightly more comfortable resin strap. I haven't been able to find a justifiable reason to get the 5000 over the 5610.

    • @fer557
      @fer557  7 лет назад

      Ramza it isn't worth 3 x as much, but if you want the stainless steel case vs the plastic one then you have to pay

    • @muCephei_
      @muCephei_ 7 лет назад

      The back case of the GWM5610 is not plastic. It's stainless steel. Just without the DLC coating.

    • @fer557
      @fer557  7 лет назад +1

      Ramza The GW-5000 watch case is made out of DLC Coated steel like the screwback. The GW-M5610 has a plastic case with a steel backplate.

    • @muCephei_
      @muCephei_ 7 лет назад

      Oh, that's good to know. I assumed the casing was the same except for the back, but I just found out that the case for GWM5610 is made out of resin case.

    Is there a relation between where the watch is made and the price? I only mean Casio G-Shocks btw.

  • @fer557
    @fer557  11 лет назад

    Usually the Japan one's have something extra. For example, in the US they may release a non-atomic mudman, but the one made in Japan are atomic. Or the GW-5000 is made in Japan and it comes with an all steel body but the GW-M5610 which has the identical module (the screen is the same) is made in thailand or indonesia and comes with a resin body. So usually the Japan ones are more expensive and have something different than a regular model made elsewhere.

    • @tonivanlaar9596
      @tonivanlaar9596 2 года назад

      The 5000 is to expensive and overpriced! You can buy 3x 5610 for that price! It would be fair if the 5000 would be priced for 200,-

    This looks like a fantastic piece right here, but I've just been wondering one thing: how's the visibility of the display? Is it very easy to see in all light conditions?
    The reason I ask this is because I'm somewhat of a digital watch n00b, with the only digital watch I own being a Timex Ironman. I've noticed a lot of the time, you have to be looking at the perfect angle to see the numbers clearly. If you tilt the watch from side to side the digits fade away fast. Does that happen with this?

  • @lac1k

    Hi,
    I just wonder if the watch is goning to receive signals if I'm not living in one of those coutries you've mentioned?
    Secondly,
    I just bought G1200D-1A and it's also a "tough solar" watch. I really want to know that is there a rechargeable battery inside the watch or some kind of electric component that is capable of store electricity in it? If there is a rechargeable battery inside, I am going to think that it's gonna last someday; is that right?

      Pavilions the module is identical, so it’s up to you if you want a steel case and screw back or if you’re okay with the plastic one. They did release an all steel version including the bracelet of this. And that has an updated module.

    The resin on the 5600C is stiffer. I prefer the gw-5000 resin on the strap, I think it is more comfortable. The 5600c bezel may lost longer since it is stiffer. The plus is that resin for the gw-5000 is readily available so if you need to replace it, it won't be as difficult to find and replace as a 5600c. Forgive me if this is a stupid question. But the second watch you showed without the bezel and strap attached was another GW-5000-1JF? If it is indeed a full steel watch I'm going to order one now. It would look awesome without the bezel with maybe a leather strap.

    • @fer557
      @fer557  8 лет назад

      The case and case back (screw back) are completely dlc coated steel. I don't think I've seen someone wear it with a leather strap and the bezel helps protect it against dings and such. Try to find a second hand one in good condition you might pick one up 180-275 second hand versus the new price and people tend to take care of them a lot.
