If you give the Captain his soul jar upon first meeting him, you'll likely not be able to find the boots of the set without looking it up, they are supposed to be buried above the abandoned camp area near the cave at the end of the quest.
Mortismal Gaming I broke the captain soul jar. Is there anyway of getting the armour?

The situation I encountered was very strange, I got the coat after trading with the captain, then I entered the captain's cabin and got the hat
However, no matter how much time I spent walking around the camp, I failed to find a mound to dig

In case anyone else is wondering, use Bless on the STONE ALTAR, not the chest itself.
Also in case you are like me and destroyed his jar before meeting him, you won't get his boots from his body. You'll find a chest at the Abandoned Encampment, in there will be his boots.

The boots are buried at (X: 607, Y: 244)

That's the plan, they're across the rest of the acts though, combined with having to start a new game for them is making getting the footage together pretty slow

Great video! When equipping the set the 3 pieces will level up to level 8. In addition also whatever gloves you are wearing will level up. This is a nice way to add some armor to the teleportation gloves. However, it will also increase the int requirement to 12 for the gloves. This was a challenge for my physical party consisting of strong and agile idiots.
Edit: this feaure/bug seem to have been removed in the latest patch.

something to note
i dont know if this is DE edition only or whatever, but if you released the captain before anything else, managed to talk him out of fighting you, then go fight him in his quarters, he will have the full set on his person. going to the chest you will just find a skeleton drinking booze telling you that the captain already took the armor and went to his ship, after which he will summon skeletons and attack you like the first encounter (or at least he will if you fail the speech check)
The boots are buried somewhere in X:607/606 Y:240/244 (approximately), use the shovel next to the vines and you gonna find a chest.
The chest wont open and I killed all of the skelly boys

I destroyed all the jars(except grats) when I first entered the vault lol. Had no idea they were linked to quests. I just knew they were most likely connected to annoying enemies id have to deal with.
If you trade his jar for the whole set he says he will be back for you and I’m wondering does he actually appear later and fight you?
I traded the jar for his coat, after I released him from the chest. Later, when I picked up his hat in the cave, he attacked me with some skeleton fellas.

In the big Black Pit Fight I just charmed the Magister Knight and let him defend one of the ways up by himself :D

Question by mistake I gave the captain his soul jar and arm back. I got his jacket and hat where are his boots located? They were not in the cave when I went there? Thanks

most likely you broke his soul jar
that's where you will find the armor and the hat is in the cave and the boots buried east of the abandoned camp near a pointed rock.
this armor gives no "min/max" advantage. its good in act 1, but around level 12+, you can get armor and headgear that is MUCH better than this. Also note that if you play a mage, you usually want to start at a high ground. Due to this distance advantage, the charm aura rarely comes into play.
Why are you talking about mage when it's designed for a rogue? +2 scoundrel + movement speed +melee charm aura...
@@AntoinePelissier because you still have to get rid of their magic armor for the charm to work. Most rogues don't do too much magic damage.

Do you think this set is worth upgrading to higher levels via the 4 sisters? Or will other new armor be better even if this is upgraded to a higher level?

I found his soul jar first before even knowing it was a quest, and i smashed the jar.
I still managed to complete the set, the armor was in the chest and the hat was in the cave, it didnt show on the first time i was there tho.
I cant remember where i found the boots.
Does he show back up at some point or should I absorb the soul and sell the jar?
Wait were did you get the hat. In the cave you said search for his armor, I assume that is the hat. My issue is there is no one in the cave and I checked everywhere and I cannot find the hat. I have the chest and the boots

How do you get to the cursed chest? There is no passage to it, it's separated by water...
Go around the side of Braccus's tower, vines lead down to that beach. Or use a skill like wings/cloak and dagger etc
You can teleport there if you have the gloves of Teleportation from the crocodiles at fort joy
Best part is the plus you get on trade

I’m using blessed on the chest and it’s not doing anything, I’m also using blessed on the burning lady and she’s still burning. What do I do
You're supposed to use Bless on the rock altar around the chest. Not ON the chest.
Also the burning historian, you need to cast rain blood on him to douse the flames then use bless.
I can't find the hat, i went to the cave and it's empty. Bug maybe? :(

How do you open the door? I can't open it at the ship.
You need to read the book you get from the chest then when you speak to the door,, choose the option that says "repeat what you read jn the book."

Do these new fights/quests increase the level cap in anyway? Just curious.
No, all the new stuff only gives like 25xp so it didn't affect the leveling at all

I don’t know if you’ve left Fort Joy or just figured it out yourself by now, but if you destroy his soul jar his jacket can be found in the chest, the hat in the ship and the boots buried somewhere on the island.

Is there any possibility to upgrade the armor? The captain implied an alter and I assume you can place it in and it'll scale up to your level.
After I had upgraded the whole set to Lvl 18 by giving it to Carldon (?, the bowcrafter you could rescue from the Grey wolves) before heading to Arx, I used it nearly till the end of the game.
Bless doesnt work on the barrier for me
Hey, i know this is late but you need to bless the stone altar, not the chest itself.
I had to fight his minions by his chest and kill them. I went to his cave, opened the door, and now he is summoning his minions again because I told him I wanted to join his crew and then pointed out that I was the one who broke B.R.'s curse. He then summoned 3 Level 8 mates and himself (level 9) to fight me.
i freed him just to be boerd and forgive him because i wasnt paying attention and i cand find the chest to tell me where the hat is!!!
Gave it to Sebille and man with the improved Elf mod, she became so hawt. One of the drippiest outfits in the game IMO.
