One thing I did forget to mention is that the quest does say all of the events with the Outlaw Empress and the spirits took place around 400-500AR so about 1700 years or so before DOS2.
Sadly, the gift bags should never be used alongside modpacks, and when you play with them, you are very restricted. I am running 157 mods rn, imagine the struggle :D

@@Bendersnatchling i know im late but the room is located in the castle of fort joy . To the right of magister borris (and the main castle gate) there is a ledge you can hop onto using amy movement skill and kick down a ladder.
Just a heads up people. If you put runes on the Devourer chest-plate and exit the dream after killing the Devourer, you will lose all the runes you had on it, which can be extremely annoying if you don't auto-save every 10 seconds. Take off the runes once you kill the boss, then exit the dream. Great guide Mortismal Gaming, it helped a lot and the lore was cool in addition.

Btw, in the vault of Kemm, there's a painting of the Outlaw Empress with a note that has the combination for the display case.
Ah, yeah I figured I missed it somewhere but it took me like 60 seconds to figure out so 🤷 lol
These guides are great, thanks. Wouldn't be enjoying the game nearly as much without them. OK, this fight was shockingly easy for me. I've had to cheese a bunch of these boss battles, but this was over almost before it started. Arrow Storm on Turn 1 to soften him up, Torturer talent plus Rupture Tendon on Turn 2, and it wiped out virtually all of his health as he lumbered over to get in range of the rest of my party. I think he only had 2-3,000 health with zero armor at that point, at which point he was easy pickings.
The combination is written on a plaque in the same vault. Close to where the mirrors are! :) Thanks for your videos! I love them :) it helped me alot with my Divinity 2 journey! :)

Was having trouble on tactican mode with those two armor spirits and extra mobs. Ty for the guide! Definitely helped when i got rid of those two spirits before entering the dream to fight!

Behind the painting of the Outlaw empress, on the left hand side of the door that is between the first and third passion of Lucian, there is a piece of paper that gives you button code
To note, there's a small fire rune on the ground if you head toward the cave (that contains the pants) on the southern pass going by Amadia's Temple. It also has a note stating that the person was looking for the Devourer armor piece and that the rune is required for it. In other words, there's no need to use your own rune.
Also, for the boots, it's pretty easy to get them as soon as you go to Act II, but it isn't so easy to go to the Blackpits at that point as that is meant to be one of the later areas that you visit in Act II. So, you may want to save the vision for when you're supposed to be heading out there.
Spirit of the Chronicler trip me out, I did the quest for the first time and when I got to Duna with my first time playing Beast and did spirit vision for the first time, thought it was a special side quest when the Chronicler was in the hall of echoes with Beast and Duna.
I actually found where in Kemm's Vault the code for the cabinet is located for the Devourer's Maw. It is behind a red painting, right before the room you need the painting to go through for Kemm's questline.
if my main miss the gloves, is there any oportunity to get the gloves with him? can i found them with a new charakter and place them on the ship and he can loot them?
I remember this fight. Was surprisingly easier than I was expecting. Wayfarer Ifan with Arrow Spray(?) I believe it's called (the one that shots a lot of arrows in a frontal cone) at point blank destroyed all his physical armor). Proceeded to CC the hell out of him from there. His followers were more annoying than he was honestly.
Great video - you stuck to just a quick summary regarding the dialogue and character involved for the devourer set and did not reveal any spoilers related to the main storyline. I just finished act 1 and thought about going through this so that I don't miss any of the set pieces as the gloves were difficult to get and could have been easily missed by someone not thoroughly exploring everything in act1.
Im starting a new Game just to uncover all the secrets.
Of course, I only find this video AFTER I have already left Fort Joy.
If you're stuck on the Combination for the Display Cases in Kemms Vault behind one of the picture there is a Text that will reaveal the corect Combination

What happens if you miss a place of longing but you have the piece of equipment?
I dif not get the gloves from act 1. Can I still fet this?
You will have to reload your save back to reapers coast to get them. Once you leave on the lady vengeance you can not return to fort joy or reapers coast. I learned this the hard way, had to redo like 6 hours of gameplay for the armor set....

I'm having a issue where the dragon skull rejects the fire rune, is there something i'm messing since i've dealt with the boots. this is really getting annoying cause i don't know whats wrong with it and if its a bug that forces me to start all over again i'm just going to give up on the armor set.

Jeez, I just did the fight without your tip on tactitian, and yes, this thing hits for a metric tone of damage.
As a tip if someone sees this and chooses to fight this thing without any tricks: Try to avoid having your guys bunched up. The boss will do a whirlwind-like attack - reality rend - and for every target hit by this it will leave a portal behind which summons one add each after two turns. If you led it happen and kill the summon it will awards 54750 xp though. Honestly, I wouldn´t do this fight without Living on the edge. Btw, the Devouerer drops level 20 divine loot.
The code is behind a picture on the southern wall of the main room.
I'm at the dead digger and the boots are not on the body, did they change the location or is this a bug? I didn't pick up the gloves from act 1 so I installed a mod that gives the gloves and starts the quest, I also enabled Endless runner, Improved organization and Source Mediation, but not sure if those are affecting it.
In my game, any time I talked to the spirits after reaching the assassination/chest area in Arx, my PC (multiplayer game, not the host controlled character) became orphaned from the game. He no longer syncs movement with the rest of the MP game, and on my end, I can still move about the map but cannot interact with any doors, npcs, nor cast spells. Spent a lot of effort convincing my party to get the parts to end up with this shit bug.
We figured out it had to do with the devourer and dropped the attempts to try to start the fight and revisited trying it later. Trying later, I cast spirit vision and I am no longer surrounded by any of the quest spirits at any point, even at the little hookah part in the video.
One of the biggest signposts that Larian bungled development time and had to rush everything from Act III to the end is how Devourer and Contamination sets both aren't complete until you're in the final act of the game, locking you out from enjoying their full benefits for the majority of the game, and resulting in you most likely being built much better or much too personalized by then to swap everything out on a party member for a full set.
DOS2 is a fun game but it has pacing problems. Bad ones.

It is definitely a hard fight, but doable.
The ancient temple has no orange dig-site equipment for me to click. I got the stuff from the graveyard. Summoned the dwarf with spirit vision. Talked to him. He told me to go there. Inside the ancient temple is nothing for me. Neither with or without spirit vision. Reload doesnt help, nothing. I hope i dont need the conversations with the spirit of flame to find the third piece of the armor later in the game. If so, fucking bug ruined it for me :D
when i put the fire rune in the dragon's mouth i get attacked by 3 undead lizard fanatics and i don't get the grieves. i don't understand what i'm doing wrong.

@@alexcouture7391 hi if your still having that problem you might be using the wrong rune. Remember you need the FIRE rune which will be ORANGE not the physical damage rune which is RED.

uhh when i put the runes at the dragon's mouth it bit and cripple me then i had to fight undead lizard men but didn't get the armor. did i do something wrong?

Not possible, but dont worry Divinity is a game u can replay x amount of times ^^ even in vanilla u have a lot of other options, or u get mods and replay it ^^ in those runs u can get em all
With all that +warfare +str ... wouldn't this be a great armor for a Lonewolf Necromancer ?.

It's the end of the game, it doesnt really matter unless you got there severely underleveled. Though as I recall all of their gift bag stuff gives close to no xp anyway.
The way to FIND the combination to the cabinet is in this same lower level area in a BOOK. IT IS HERE, JUST LOOK AT EVERY SINGLE "BOOK" DOWN IN THIS LOWER LEVEL AREA. IF YOU DO THIS YOU "WILL" FIND THE COMBINATION FOR THE CABINET WHERE THE ITEM IS FOR THIS PIECE OF THE ARMOR SET! Best of Luck all!!! :)

You have to hold the Rune in your Hand and than you can interact with the mouth.

i know this is somewhat old at this point, but i gotta ask
after you get the gauntlets, do you NEED to visit the study for that talk? or does the spirit in act 2 show up anyway? because if i NEED to go to that study, ill need to go back a few hours to an older save which i'm not really looking forward to, but it's better to know now that i'm not overly much further in the game, rather than several acts further down the line
I'm pretty sure you need to go to every place of longing in order to advance the quest.

Nah it should be fine, it just tells you where the next location is supposed to be is the main thing.

there is a mod and you can try to fix it with it. Just google the problem.

What does the set bonus and deathleechs effect I’ve watched it can’t seem to understand also thanks for the video👍🏻
Deathleech increases max vitality after killing an enemy, and the set bonus marks a target randomly in combat, when that target dies you're healed and have all your CDs reset. If you take too long to kill the target you get a debuff that deal piercing damage to you.

@@ItsHardToThinkOfOne Honestly just realized I made that comment on the wrong video, the contamination armor has a way to grab a missed item through detonate spores ability it teaches you, as far as I know there isn't a way to recover any missing pieces from the Devourer set

Personally, Masterwork Runes with the power frame. It's the straightforward option.

Did you do the puzzle with the cupboard? Cause it only spawns in the cupboard after the puzzle is done

It amazes me or shows my pure stupidity when I can not find the answers to a lot of these quests......cupboard / buttons / order? This is the first place of all my damn searching that "buttons" was even mentioned.........I can't enter a code, assuming this is why....
I think entirely to linear for these games....Buttons (3) from left to right is how to enter the code........
I have cleared Braccus Rex tower and I cannot find this chest in this location. I cannot find the dead adventurer's body and note outside the main gate of the Gargoyle maze either. Rechecked. Not sure what I'm missing. Any tips?
Make sure you have the dlc downloaded and start a fresh run, it isn't compatible with old games

Don´t worry you should play this game more than once anyways. Play on tactic mode with two lone wolves, i think that´s the most fun.
i sold gloves somewhere in fort joy and now in act 4 i realised its a set and now i cant get full set.
What a stupid game with 0 explanations why would i even need full set at end of the game xD
