I don't know why people are saying this is useless because the heat sink is on the other side or that the fan is on the other side etc. A lot of heat gets absorbed in the bottom motherboard shield, and one time I played without the bottom part of my pro, and it was way too hot to touch for more than 2 seconds. All I did was drill 3 tiny holes right above the shield, and that seemed to do the trick because the fan also took air from the holes and in the process cooled down the shield a bit and reduced fan noise, but with this Mod it should never overheat lol.
Yeah I forget what that guy said about uselessness you did the right thing where less is more this guy has no idea what he's talking about you did it perfectly Good job bro that mod's sweet man
Another good add to that would be sticker foam directing the airflow in the exhaust direction!!! Just a thought. Hopefully someone can see what I wrote and intrepid it.
So far, all nice and good...but that is the wrong fan for the job. Sure it works, but this is an Airflow fan, means it is best when there is no restriction (for example PC case exhaust fan) You would get better performance with a Static Pressure fan. All in all, you might not feel a bit difference, but since they cost the same, go for the Static Pressure in this case.
@Kim Faes F*Kim it works, especially if you take a good Airflow one. BUT there is a lot of restriction in front of that fan. So you actually get less airflow from a AF fan then a static pressure optimized one.
@Kim Faes F*Kim noctua has AF and SP Fans. In the video it looks like he used an NF-S12A. Aswsome fan, but this one is optimised for no back pressure. So for example a fan that exhausts from a big PC case without anything in front or behind it. The NF-A12 or even NF-F12 are optimized to "fight" against backpressure way better. Therefore delivering more Airflow compared to an "airflow fan" in a scenario where the air has to be pushed through....like in this PS4 mod! Nonetheless, since he used a high quality Noctua fan, I am sure the cooling is still amazing
I just try to do this and blug the new fan on the old one wire, the lights of the fan work but the fan doesn't spin. The new is a deep cool RF 120 has a cable controller so i wonder if that is the reson? As the old fan have black, brown and Grey cable and didn't conect the Grey because is just the one that the ps4 us to control the speed of it.
As nice as this is (also a bit tacky on the same coin) you could just replace the thermal paste and the system would basically go silent with a good brand paste.
Why the hell did U cut off a hole in this metal cover? Just remove it. This is part passive cooling system for memory. If you wanna put there fan and make it active cooling just remove that metal plate.
OFC U can remove it. U got that shield on other side (where APU radiator is). I got PS4 pro without that shield over a year and it decrase overall temperature over 15 degrees.
I don't know .. people report performance slow down when ram are overheat .. competitive players don't want have any possible problems when they make a challenges ;)
You did all that and didn't even replace the thermal paste and the thermal pads? And you didn't even put a filter so that dirt or whatever particles get into the system?
Hello again I have a doubt: With what thermal tape did you get the heatsinks? I have one with the following values: 30mm x 25m Thermal Adhesive Tape, Double Side Thermal conductivity 1.5 w / m-k Thermal impedance 0.3 ° Cin2 / w glass fiber thickness 0.2mm It would be good? Now what I did was to extract the power source, adapt a longer cable and place a small fan. My PS4 makes less noise and heats little, however I want to place the heatsinks as seen in this video, I appreciate your help! Greetings and excellent day!
Hello How much does the ps4 manage to cool? What is the size of the heatsinks? I'm interested in making the modification, however I'm a bit afraid to cut the metal shell, certainly in that part concentrates a lot of heat to play a few hours. Greetings and good day!
ciao, sorry I not have temperature statistics .. ps4 was returns to the owner and him not reported me any problems. the size of the heatsinks is around 15x15mm, height 10mm ;)

This looks very nice! I am interested in temperature results before and after the upgrade. Could you maybe provide some?
The PlayStation thanks you for the bong rips💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨😁💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
I really love this job. To do it, i just need to know what about the soldering pins do you use.
Phenomenal work.
ciao, is the fan connector like cpu pc fan with +, -, signal, rpm ;)
@@SgaboLab do you think it is possible tu use a 18 mm fan ? I have a Siverstone redy to go
I used old laptop cooling stand it fits perfect and it's not so hot at bottom of console
Man I am so interested to put fan on my PS4. I have 6 pins 120mm fan. Do you have an idea of how to wire it.please.
Another good add to that would be sticker foam directing the airflow in the exhaust direction!!! Just a thought. Hopefully someone can see what I wrote and intrepid it.

@Kim Faes F*Kim ofc!
It is honestly not extremely important, but if you buy a new fan anyway, why not just take the best one for the job 😆
What's the background music it's awesome?

if I remember well .. not standard fan .. use the metal case for the negative pole.
it is something like that
brown = +
blue = PWM -
grey = rpm count
How did you connect the fan?
As nice as this is (also a bit tacky on the same coin) you could just replace the thermal paste and the system would basically go silent with a good brand paste.
I don't know .. .. was a works for a friend that him asked me this ;)
should I get the thermal grizzly or arctic paste?
@@arisgolseen2693 grizzly paste tastes surprisingly good but artic paste is a better insulator

hi, because metal plate not a cooling but an electromagnetic shield .. no good remove all ;)
OFC U can remove it. U got that shield on other side (where APU radiator is). I got PS4 pro without that shield over a year and it decrase overall temperature over 15 degrees.
Was going to say why? Prob like 5c difference and an important also sinking heat AWAY from the main!?
Amazing work! Did it noticeably reduce the notice?
Why didnt you put the fan in the case!!
Because you can't put it inside....
Is it really needed?

hi, thermal pads are replace with heatsink .. processor no need to change thermal paste and .. air filter is non sense for me in this case
The actual reason YT has a mute option.
Did you live the original fan inside?
yes
Is it better to leave it?
@@Steger13 you have to leave it in
Ciao dall'America!
Hai usato il Noctua di 12V o 5V?
Cos'e' che hai incollato sul lato?
Grazie, e complimenti!
what size fan did you use ? 120mm or 140mm ?
ciao, 120mm
Good song!!!
Hi did you use a 3 pin noctua fan pls?
ciao, yes .. connected in parallel to gpu fan ;)

ciao, I don't know Thermal Adhesive specification .. it comes with heatsinks. The 12V supply, you can found on original fan connector ;)

Serve necessariamente?

Exhaust would work better and not kill your ps4 with shot tons of dust
bruh did you seriously vape into your custom PS4 fan
cigarette
I need one of these bro
It does not help with heat sink from what I can see and have seen in alot of the videos out
There was no test to prove it.
🤔ᴴᴹᴹ i think make ez way the small hole is enough
