I adore my SE600 sewing and embroidery machine. Glad I bought it. Hope it lasts too. My only complaint is not being able to find a cap hoop and repositional hoop that fits it just like SE400 had.

I bought mine off the brother website. It was $379 and with tax it totaled $410. It was cheaper by $100 than what I saw on Amazon and Walmart.com. I just got it delivered today.

Have you ever run into this issue where the last line is somewhat devoid of stitching? Example, if I stitch a solid circle with 1 color, it will start at the bottom, stitch its way up about 1/4 of the way and then suddenly jump to the very top of the circle and stitch down until it meets where it jumped from. that last line where it meets leaves this odd line that isn't really devoid of stitches, but is enough to make it appear as a line that shouldn't be there.. my only fix is to restitch that last line, but only after shifting the pattern down by 1 point on the machine. i don't think it's a skipped stitch, that's something that would be noticable throughout the entire circle at random spots. it's only when i encounter a jump in a solid and then it has to jump and fill in the rest (usually for donut shapes that have a solid fill). I'm using inkscape/inkstitch.
Do you have to have special computer software to create designs? I want to be able to create quilt labels that may have 3 to 4 lines of text and maybe a small item (like a heart or flower). Will I need to buy $150 software in order to do this with the Brother SE 600?
I'm a rookie with this machine but not with sewing. My grandmother taught me sewing, I was 12 with an old singer. Can I use the sewing machine as a regular machine with the embroidery attachment on or do I have to take it off?
You can use the embroidery presser foot with the embroidery unit attached, but if you are wanting to do free motion embroidery using the sewing feature, you would want to use the SA129 on the Brother SE600.

I jus got my machine (brother se600) in and trying to learn how to use it. It doesnt thread right. It gets clogged up into the machine and the thread keeps breaking. I lowered the tention to 2 an still same result. Speed set to medium. I cant figure out why its doing this. Please help. Thanks
i just got mine and I have broken 2 needles as well. I am using 40 wt thread. I am thinking I need to move up to 60 wt because its clogging just like you said.
What are the actual dimensions of this machine? I keep getting the same answer online (21.18"L X 16.54"W X 15.51"H.) I feel like these are the dimensions of the box it comes in because that just seems huge! Is it really that big? Lol just looking at it in this video and others I've seen, I'm thinking there is no way it's almost as deep as my whole arm. Maybe I'm crazy!

You can't! You'd have to get it imported from USA & then get a plug transformer. I did get the SE625 and it's excellent. If you keep an eye out on local selling sites you may come across one.
My brand new machine comes on when I turn it on, but the start button will not go to green. I have rethreaded several times to no avail. Can anyone help?

Not if you have a Mac - and the Brother software is terribly expensive
Im also using SewArt and SWP (SewWhat Pro). it is working for me
