What a blessing to be able to make a pie where even a 2nd grader can pronounced every ingredient😊😋. One question, can you cover the pie with aluminum foil? I make my own date paste using date bits. They are cheaper but have rice flour on them to keep the bits separate. I rinse them to get the rice off (type 2 D) and then let them sit in a bit of water. Makes a good paste! Thanks for this it looks wonderful. I’m gonna’ try it.
He's so fit & clearly aging well. Use unsweetened apple sauce if you can't find or afford dates. If you're allergic to nuts, use a gluten-free flour & a neutral oil.
😋😋 I will definitely try this recipe. I use nuts and apples to make my pie also. Also nice when it is put in a dehydrator for a few hours for a nice raw pie.

some ppl just put tin foil over the top edge of the crust and only take it off the last half maybe of the cooking time.
Yes, that works well. I don't use tinfoil because of the chemicals involved, but it will work.
They do make these thingies (I don't know what they're called) that you place over the crust before baking which keeps it from burning.
What about the cover of a pot?
Tin foil is not environmentally friendly so I stay away from it : )
