My dad and I built two trucks just like this ones on my channel this lowering method is awesome and to help the welds adhere to the thicker material try preheating it next time even a torch will work fine, love the content !
Just installed a an axle flip kit purchased online for my f100 and think i royally screwed up by welding the brackets on backwards. They came with two holes on each bracket and apparently are supposed to be mounted in the offset hole to set rear end back 3/4 inch. Now that i see you used stock 1 hole brackets im thinking i might actually be ok just using the center hole which keeps everything in the original location???
Not gonna lie. I was scared when you started this because I absolutely hate lowered trucks but this is turning out to not be horrible so I’m happy and excited about this now
Liking where this truck is headed. So how about the posi rear end - nice to burn 2 instead of 1 huh?!! Question - will you get an alignment to verify the trueness of the rear tracking the front? Cool truck - Chuck in NE Kansas
While driving my '78 Econoline, I saw a real low F go the other way... the front bumper was no more than 8 inches off the ground... It hadn't been painted, kind of ratty... but cool... I hope I see it again. I am seriously considering a '94 F-150... 6 cyl, 5 speed, highway geared rear...
You good Craig just make sure we get those videos and we're happy. Also you better have made a vid about that fummins dentside that was on your Instagram a few days ago
why did you not just swap out the whole rear axle.? if it,s from a half-ton it would bolt right in. also your boxing plates should never be square. they should have rounded corners. still a cool video.
lilorbie lilorbie the other axle had a broken banjo bolt stuck in it and I was unaware of the condition of the bearings within the axle. And for the frame I’m not done yet this was just to make the show
Just got done taking out a transmission and the fluid was metallic purple and smelled like burnt plastic guys always check you tans fluid before you buy a truck 😂
I detest a lowered truck but to each his own. As far as the content of the video it's awesome. You videos are always informative and I'm amazed at how much $ you save with your fabrication skills. You may want to check out DD Speedshop on RUclips.
Daniel FaJohn a truck for one doesnt always have to be a utility vehicle, also lowered trucks dont render themselves useless by any means if suspension is done right. All vehicles look better lowered, hell even a prius looks better low
@@mattswestone20 typical judgemental comment. I didn't say anything negative about a lowered truck. I simply stated that they are not my cup of tea. He is doing a awesome job with his truck. I prefer a Ford and not a Chevy. That's not a negative statement just my preference but Chevy owners will call me a hater.
I don't care if it's free, wrong alignment and truck is junk unless done right...something not for the faint of heart or first time welder.... so why kill the original.
The truck only keeps getting better. Excited to follow as everything unfolds

Great job, what kind of shocks did you use after you lowered? Thanks for all the info.
Sweet! We just c-notched our c10 over on our channel. We went bolt-in but love how you DIY-ed yours. Nice to finally see it being lowered.
Useful info! I'll be doing a flipped axle on a '58 Chevy truck frame soon.

Sweet ride man......

“Man I wonder if Craig posted the video yet” part two posted 23-seconds ago.
A little bit late but I’m a man of my word!
A tip: watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Axel Amir yup, I have been watching on flixzone for months myself =)
Hell yeah man love it!

Hes a professional lol you wont learn till you do it Craig is one smart guy
Another cheap trick is to flip your leaf spring hangers and move them higher on the rail. Fixing to do it to my 79' Dodge d100 long bed.
more Pepper ! 🐶 good vid
How does the truck handle and ride after you did this, better or worse...
Awesome! Great vid on how to slam your vintage FORD pickup, for cheap.
since you’ve gone lower, you definitely need to go wider (in wheels not body lol)
Neh them wheels need to be tucking

Why didn't you remove the bed? It would have been a lot easier.

Did you bevel angle your welding surfaces mate ,me not a welder and i know that, double plate with longer plates with holes to weld in as well
Good job Craig
What year did the Trac lock come out of
I know this is a old video but what brackets and ubolts did you use to flit the rearend and did you have to use brackets for the shocks to hook up
Nice work so far, I noticed when you did the front coils there were spacers. Did you remove those?
So knowledgeable I have to ask what your ambition is after college? Will it be automotive related?
Roger Yoder I feel like he mentioned some kind of engineering that he’s doing for school in a previous video. But I could be wrong.
I'm speechless don't know what to think about it
Looks great bro! Good work, wanting to lower my 71 soon
"Dont judge my welds" dont worry I won't judge them. But the first bump you hit will.
Truck looks so good bro, keep it up!

You good Craig just make sure we get those videos and we're happy. Also you better have made a vid about that fummins dentside that was on your Instagram a few days ago

What welder did you use ? Thank you. Love your channel by the way!
It's a Lincoln 140 mig with .030 wire CO2 Argon mix
Thecraig909 ohh thanks man!
That other rear axle is not a 9” it’s a 9 3/8 bigger ring gear no parts available

You know with that 409 gear you'll be getting about 5-8 mi. Per gallon gas mileage without a overdrive.
2nd cool

Someone told me your truck tittle becomes a salvage one ,since you cut the frame ...is that true???

First to like the video
Prevously? Well....pobody's nerfect......
Or you can be a normal person a just drill the rivets out 😆😆😆
Dumb headlights.
You realize you just traded a 9-inch for a 9 3/8 rear? May not matter, but always do your homework. www.kevinstang.com/Ninecase.htm
