Nice video 👍 great job i did this to my old Ford F250 i did not turn my center bolt around though next time i do anything there i will. One thing that happened was those tabs that go up in the axle spring perch i had to rotate my axle forward to match the original driveline angle it left a gap in those tabs in the back i did a hard pull and my axle rotated backwards it was sticking up and driveline rubbing my e brake cables . I had a welder weld that bracket around the axle tube so it never happens again .
No welding required, if your C notch kit you order is for the F Series frame it too has an option for the bolt in kit, I recommend watching my comparison video showing eBay vs bel tech and I prefer the eBay kit vs the more expensive brand, it allows you to use your own stock and stronger u bolts. And has better spindles.

Sounds like it’s either loose, not at the right pinion angle putting driveshaft in a bind, or the flip blocks have an offset hole and the blocks are backwards to each other causing the rear end to not be straight

You can buy the kit for any model truck but may have to drill the line up hole larger if it’s not correct size. This one is for a 96 Sierra. All you would have to do is make sure your leaf springs are not wider than the 1/2 ton and if not just order the kit for a half ton
Only if it’s keeping the rear ended from sitting flat on the leaf. If it’s not then it won’t make a difference, your driveshaft could be too far into the transmission after lowering it causing it to vibrate. Mine had no affect but could be a possibility

Should i just do a flip with no shackles for the rear? how much would just the flip no shackles lower the rear by?
If you flip the axle you have to measure the height of the leafs which is close to 1.5” then from the leaf bars to center of rear end which is close to 2” so if you flip the rear it’s going to drop you that x2 so roughly 7” from where it’s at now

I believe the rear end is u see the leafs on your truck, if you only want a few inches you could remove the front leaf spring hanger and spin it where the leaf is above the hanger rather than on the bottom But then you will have to make certain the rear end is centered before drilling new holes and bolting it back on….. but you could buy lift shackles and flip the rear end so that you can lower it by flipping the axle then the lift kit hangers could raise it to your desired height. You can pick up the flip spring pads at tractor supply if you use the stock u bolts.

Not at all but other things limit how much you can load. Like full size tires rubbing your fender or wheel well, frame slamming hard on axle when you go over a messed up road that bounces your truck up, or loading to capacity and causing your front end to raise up a little which could lead to handling problems especially in rain. I just ordered an Air Lift Air Bag kit for my 2012 f150 on a flip kit (not sure the exact drop measurement but it’s designed for up to 6” drop according to the description) to help load leveling and it helps me be able to load 2k lbs like as if i was at stock suspension.

The typical leaf spring rear suspension will need 5-7 degrees of negative angle. Go get you a magnetic angle reader from harbor freight and put it on the yoke where the driveshaft mounts. You should never have a positive angle though.
You could cut your rear end spring perch off and mount it on other side and weld it in to save on that. And run to scrap yard and get piece of pipe to make c notch and weld into frame and box it

It’s all the same fir trucks with the axle below the leafs, it requires a flip kit to get it above to go 5” or add the 2@ hangers to go 7” I have five this on both GM and Ford, both exactly the same
For the beltech it’s www.ebay.com/itm/291035606225 but I would recommend getting the 500.00 kit, check out my other video on my channel where I compare the two kits, link is below in description on that video
It’s about a 5” drop but if you add shackles it adds 2” to make 7” in rear, if you only do a flip kit and remove the bump stop that’s bolted to the frame you can get away without adding a notch but if you add any weight in the bed it will hit the frame over bumper occasionally
@@1194video thanks for the reply, so I should be okay with just the flip kit ? My tires on the truck right now are also 265/65/18, would I need a smaller tire?
Do you have correct shocks for the drop? Also did you remove the bump stop that’s bolted to the frame just above the axle? It could be bottoming out against that which would be a terrible ride
Cheapest is never Best But if you don’t care how bad it rides you could go to harbor freight and buy the axle purches that are same as flip for rear then take springs out and cut them lower but it will be a rougher ride in front for sure
It’s not, the yoke slips in and out of the tail shaft the whole time you drive, it’s made to where if your loaded to the axles with weight it still has travel. No issues

@@1194video the black pad that comes with the flip kit ? Or which black pad ?
@@temp285 the pad in the kit the rear axle sits in to flip it. If the bolt is too long it can hit the rear end keeping it from sitting into the pad.
Was wondering if you could tell me the sizes of the parts that came on the flip kit I’m trying to make my own lol
Or the measurements
You could cut your rear end spring perch off and mount it on other side and weld it in to save on that. And run to scrap yard and get piece of pipe to make c notch and weld into frame and box it
Can the same U's be used or do they have to be longer ones????😢😢😢
As long as a clock to lower it more is not being used I have used the OEM U bolts before
How much drop did you get from the axle flip kit
7 in rear
Do you have a part number for that kit or a link?
ruclips.net/video/1FiG3imKEtw/видео.html I give the link in the description and facts about the kit with details
Your Truck is a 1991 but, is it a Ford? I'm looking into doing this to mine which is a 1991 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat. So basically is your truck a 1991 Ford F-150?
It’s all the same fir trucks with the axle below the leafs, it requires a flip kit to get it above to go 5” or add the 2@ hangers to go 7” I have five this on both GM and Ford, both exactly the same
You think I need to weld my c notch on my 2003 f150
Beltech flip kit
I’d bolt it and weld around the sides for strength
Did you have to use c notch or replace shocks?
I replaced shocks and c notch kit
Where did you get the flip kit? And what is the part #?
For the beltech it’s www.ebay.com/itm/291035606225 but I would recommend getting the 500.00 kit, check out my other video on my channel where I compare the two kits, link is below in description on that video
I’m planning on getting a flip kit for my 2006 Chevy Silverado how low would it drop and would I need a c-notch ?
It’s about a 5” drop but if you add shackles it adds 2” to make 7” in rear, if you only do a flip kit and remove the bump stop that’s bolted to the frame you can get away without adding a notch but if you add any weight in the bed it will hit the frame over bumper occasionally
@@1194video thanks for the reply, so I should be okay with just the flip kit ? My tires on the truck right now are also 265/65/18, would I need a smaller tire?
@@Jimmynbs97 that would depend on the offset, you would want to make sure it can freely move up and down inside the wheel well without rubbing
What type of u bolts do I need ?
You can use your stock u bolts
So I did a flip kit on my obs but it’s so bumpy now what can I do about it??
Do you have correct shocks for the drop? Also did you remove the bump stop that’s bolted to the frame just above the axle? It could be bottoming out against that which would be a terrible ride
@@1194video i did not remove the bump stop

Hi bro
What’s the cheapest way to lower my 1998 Silverado k1500 ?
Cheapest is never Best But if you don’t care how bad it rides you could go to harbor freight and buy the axle purches that are same as flip for rear then take springs out and cut them lower but it will be a rougher ride in front for sure
What you do about the driveshaft being to long?
It’s not, the yoke slips in and out of the tail shaft the whole time you drive, it’s made to where if your loaded to the axles with weight it still has travel. No issues
I’m having trouble with mine being about a inch long everything lined up great
@@thomasdavis8164 your rear end has to be in the offset hole not the centered hole. If you put it center it moves it too far forward
That’s what I did I used the original bracket but a new one and welded it on the opposite side when I flipped it
do i need a c notch for this?
You don’t if you remove the bump stop but it will hit when going over bumps without the c notch
@@1194video ok but im using my stock shackles should i still remove them?
@@xmakeugopassivex2795 if your just doing a flip kit it gets you roughly 5” drop and if you get the 2” shackles you can go 7 but it’s going to be very close to the frame

mine does it too

I got a flip kit but I wanna go lower pls help
You can remove the large leaf on bottom and next to that to go really low or cut rivets and flip front hanger and weld back on upside down
You can get lowering shackles that will replace your stock ones the lowering shackles will bring it down an extra 2 inches so the rear will be 8 in low

every drop needs a c notch if you want it not to be hitting frame

Did my drop on my obs and my diff is a little pushed forward how can I fix it ?
Your flip kit should have an offset hole so it corrects the position on the rear. Mine had two holes
Turn the axle brackets around, you probably put them in backwards...

Slam it!
Your axle brackets will crack and then leak if you do thos setup. You need the flip kit that has the flat plate that goes over the you bolts. Dont do this way. You will get alot of axle wrap
it’s no different than stock perches once you finish weld them to the axle, only way it could possibly crack the old perch is under heavy torque which show trucks don’t get very much of.
@1194video oh yes definitely a big difference. I fix these all the time this not the way 😂
nobody’s going to go spend 5k on links and coil overs dude, this does the trick even auto dealers run them on all their custom lot builds.
My cheap arse is going to use the stock parts. I'll just drill a hole where it need to be
