- The stress response that your body experiences, which involves the production of hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol, leads to a reduction of magnesium levels in your body. These hormones are released during times of stress and subsequently, your body uses up more magnesium to help manage these reactions. This reduces the overall amount of magnesium available for other functions within your body.
In this video, expect to learn:
• How long magnesium stays lowered after a spike of adrenaline
• Examples of stress that deplete magnesium levels
• Whether or not a night of poor sleep can deplete magnesium
• Whether or not loud noise exposure depletes magnesium
• How exercise affects magnesium levels

Chronic stress will burn out your adrenals and give you muscle cramps. This is also a sign of magnesium deficiency. A wise man once said: Man is only ill because he can't be still. Dis-ease. Long enough psychological stress will manifest in so many physical problems. Another huge problem with stress is high stomach acid and ulcers. Leading to worse digestion, sleep, food decisions(junk comfort foods). Stress is just a downward spiral and everything will go haywire eventually. Depending on your constitution, something will break first.
And I learned from Dr. Rahim Gonstead that you can check for adrenal depletion by shining a harsh light into your eye; if the pupil first contracts but then starts to quaver/widen again within 6 seconds or so, you have a serious cortisol problem
Yeah I've been dealing with that myself for years unknowingly. I recently in the past few years started working on my gut health and stress levels. Dealing with a bunch of difficult gut issues, that I feel once healed things like magnesium should be better absorbed. But my adrenal are definitely burned out years of chronic stress/anxiety, that I didn't know how to manage in my younger years. And unfortunately, I dealt with that in the worst way, by just eating tons of sugar and bad food.

The last thing you say is ;
"..... if you don't replenish it properly"
How do we replenish it properly?
Thank you for the info on magnesium. It's interesting 🎉
And caffeine..? Just as bad as alcohol, for magnesium depletion?
I have Graves disease, had my thyroid removed 3 years this November. Have you an opinion on what supplements i need ? I already take Magnesium citrate, vitamin D, Fish oil.. Also take creatine and Citrulline Malate before i exercise. i am 57 years old
How long does it take to "saturate" our body's magnesium level?
Nunya
It depends on how much you can absorb.
@@gyffjogofl7676 and that is another very complicated topic, sadly...
So because I’m stressed I’m peeing all the time and that’s the magnesium loss? Ehhh🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I've bought like 3 different magnesium supplements of glycinate, malate and citrate. And it sucks because none of them work. Due to my body having poor absorption problems, from gut health and prior stress levels being burned out.
Been working each day, trying out different things. To work on improving my gut health and mental. I was dealing with candida for many years and I'm still dealing with it currently. But that had my stress levels out of control for many years, due to the severity of things like the brain fog I would get daily.
Look into topical magnesium oil also Epsom salt soak
Unlike others are saying, I would suggest a probiotic and a low-sugar yogurt (I prefer greek). Our gut biome has a huge impact on our health and ability to absorb nutrients. I prefer to take my supplements with yogurt and some fiber...Everyone is different though so be patient and limit the number of changes you make at a time.
Apple cider might help you. It helps the body absorb nutrients. Look into it
Since the only method for getting "true" mag levels is through hair samples, how can one have their levels monitored? Hair sample labs are not really available to most.
What about coffee?
Coffee is great for you. Don't even go there.
Pathetic
Garbage
Inhibits magnesium absorption. Just wait about 3-4 hrs before to take magnesium if you just drank coffee.
What about it?
Does anyone know if magnesium deficiency causes grey hair?
I would like to know to I’m graying early 😩
I have a few grey hairs here and there.@@Amor09876
I mean we all know the bodies actions are generally benevolent, so why are we doing a Mag Dump under duress ? This is a coping mechanism
Thanks so much
thank you
I have been so stressed that my muscles started twitching. Then I looked this up on the internet and it's connected to some serious conditions. I became more upset and twitched even more. It was just horrible :(
Do you consume a lot of sugar and caffeine?
I have leg cramps at night often! I think it could be magnesium or potassium deficiency.
@@Dave.... no, I don't. I just became more and more upset and that impacted on my overall health.
@@underated17 I do too. It's distressing.
@@sunmoon-84 wow do the cramps wake you up every night?
Fasting can lower your cortisol and adrenaline levels over time, though they temporarily go up during the fast.
Useless it increases sugar and cholesterol
I take Phosphorus Magnesium, what do you think of this kind?
Phosphorus can cause kidney failure overtime
My mother never truly loved me 😔
Why does the body never run out of magnesium, though? I mean, if you're stressed, etc, and you have normal magnesium needs for various functions, and you get nowhere near the daily magnesium intake, etc, etc, why do you not run out of magnesium after a few days or weeks and pass out and die? Where is that minimal level of magnesium coming from?
Yeah that's my question too and also how long does it take to replenish low magnesium levels. Maybe its because magnesium is in small amounts in all sorts of foods so maybe we're able to get just enough from our diets to keep us from getting dangerously low.
Could also be because the body seems to always maintain adequate levels in the blood so maybe it sacrifices from cells in other parts of the body in an effort to maintain blood levels.
Your bones are full of it
Your body pulls out magnesium from your bones & teeth. And replenishes them when you eat magnesium rich foods. However, if your body uses up too much, your bone & teeth will become brittle. You will start to see nasty symptoms like Depression, heart palpitations, osteoporosis, brittle bones and a host other symptoms.
You’ll just perform sub-optimally
@@Amritrayhow do u know, doctors in india didn't tell me that
For some reason, I am getting stressed watching this clip. So that means..
Won't exercise increase magnesium levels? lmfao
No
This guy..... how does your body "increase magnesium"? You can't be serious
@@bbdo1111 hes joking, but hes actually right as exercise increases bone density and therefore magnesium stores.
Please explain the puffy tissue on both sides of your nose (running from the inside corner of your eyes down to the corners of your mouth). I see many people with this these days. That swollen tissue goes down almost completely on the carnivore diet. Explain that please. I’ve only heard one person hit on the topic which was explained as too much estrogen. Thoughts?
I think it's inflamed sinuses due to inhaled or ingested toxins/allergens.
That’s caused by high estrogen
Kidney failing
It could be Ozempic face. Look it up and given the number of people taking the drug for diabetes or weight loss that may be what you're noticing. It could also be just part of getting older.
It's super science face
Helps my body and soul 😢
