Hello Christian! the UL 150 has more power and it's 100% silent. It's also heavier and takes a bit longer to setup. The main feature is that there is no fan. This SL100D is good in many aspects, just the noise could be an issue if you need a more silent light

Hola Jorge. con el reflector puesto la diferencia no es exactamente el doble ya que producen un total de lux muy similar, sin embargo, el SL100d al tener 100 watts va a tener más potencia en general. Creo que es dificil explicar pero no van a ser iguales

you are welcome! I haven't tried it, and I am going to assume that you want to shoot with a shutter speed of 1/240.... I mean, you can use a lower aperture and higher ISO to compensate for it.

So if you had a channel that is mostly talking and some interviews, would you get the SL 100 D or UL 60? Could you place the SL 100 D further away so that the fan noise is not an issue or have you noticed it is an issue even when put further away. UL 150 is out of my budget. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Hi. Sure you can place it further away and the 100W will compensate for the distance. If the interview won't have background music, and the environment is very quiet (and depending on the microphone that you use), you might still hear the fan noise in the background. For many people it's not a big deal, but it all depends on what you are trying to achieve
You can easy denoise in the video editing app, I did it succesfully using nanlite 300 which is really loud
whats caught my eye is that godox sl100d uses a typical cable exactly the same as plugging a desktop pc for power while the Apurture Amaran although famous 100d uses a cable that is Freakin expensive to replace similar to a typical hmi light plug...I think this is the clear winner here...planning to sell the godox sl60w for this replacement cost 100$ :D
this is something I noticed the SL100D now is a circular LED which means that the light distribution should be super efficient compared to the old SL60W that have a square LED form (not efficient)
Yeah, that's a big disadvantage not only with the amaran 100d that you mentioned but with other newer Godox lights as well. Problem is not only the cost, the real problem is getting them if they get damaged

hello! up to you to be honest. My personal experience: I only had the SL60W, and I wanted to have a stronger main one and leave the SL60W as a fill light or a backup light. I went with the SL150 II, back then this SL100 was not an option (the older version is bad!). I would get something at least like this one, or the Amaran 100D which I use quite often. They are a bit more expensive but trust me, it's worth the investment

Yeah 90cm will work on both lights
The think is that with two SL60W you pay almost the same price than for a SL100D so I don't think it is the best option as two SL60W provide obviously more lights plus diffèrent setting options
That’s a good point. However, you will need to buy another light stand and probably another modifier (softbox for example). 60w is fine, but the extra power is honestly priceless.

Hola Nicolas! Depende que tipo de fotografia sea. 100W puede ser suficiente, y considero que lo minimo si vas a usar 2 de ellos, asi que si podria funcionar!
Hello I hope you can help me … I’m starting a 3 HOST podcast and I’m thinking either buying sl100Bi or the La150 … both with the Godox lantern … normally I would go directly for the 150 « more power maybe for other usage » but the fan also is an issue I think more than the sl 100 … is the 100 enough to light 3 people or should I take the la150 … great review and thank you in advance
I don't have any experience with the LA series, but I do have the SL150, and this is the one I use most of the time for a key light. If money is not an issue, I prefer the 150 watts, and in your case you might need that extra power for your podcast.

I'd go with something stronger if you want to compete against the sun

Any light stand will work just don't buy the cheap/thin ones. Get the ones that say heavy duty. Multiple brands out there

yeah the SL60 has a fan that is not quiet
Fan thing is unfair. You stay SILENT while recording and when turning the knob even the knob sounds SUPER LOUD which means that the mic is super sensitive.
