- Mayor Karen Bass was home when a suspect broke a window and climbed into her Tudor-style mansion, known as "Getty House." Authorities say the intruder made it to the family residence on the second floor and Bass fled into the panic room. She was not injured and a suspect, Ephraim Hunter, was taken into custody. The 29-year-old suspect was booked on a felony burglary charge. Inside Edition’s Jim Moret has more.
Imagine having a panic room but claiming your city is safe
She’s a political leader, she’d be unsafe anywhere.
Government buildings usually do
Stupid comment. It’s like asking why keep a gun in a house if a person lives in a safe city. Obviously living in a safe city doesn’t guarantee anything. Dangerous people live in “safe” cities too if we’re being logical.
@@Ms.Kelani bad excuse
@@woop6078 Residential houses don’t
So the person who broke into the mayor's home has a $100,00 bond. 🙄 Sad that it doesn't work that way for the average LA citizen whose home got broken into.
Yea they get out without bail.
I bet the police got there in record time too.
I’m sure Ms Bass appreciates her neighbor for outing the location of her panic room
😂 😂
Haha its probably on both floors
She won't be invited back that's for sure lol
Yes big mouth , 😂
Ohh oh so *NOW* you wanna enforce bail😒🙄
i hope she personally release this guy from jail, because according to her, criminals can't reform if they're in jail, besides he didn't steal anything valuable.
A panic room? A luxury normal everyday citizens do not have. Instead you will have to call LAPD who already has their hands tied behind their back from soft on crime policies. If you try to defend yourself, you may be held criminally liable more so than the intruder. We live in a society…
We live in a society where we can't afford to allocate resources to everywhere at once. Well done for noticing that.
“Our City Is Safe” while having a panic room in your own mansion says something. 😂😂😂
Only for the rich my friend 😏
It’s not her house. Any mayor of LA lives there
@@luckyu521 It’s *CURRENTLY* her mansion for now. 😂
@@luckyu521 it should be our house not hers 🙄. Since there is a LOT of homeless over there at her owed district .
They should have waited til she leaves. Break in and become a squatter
The mayor has a mansion...didn't she say that rich people should purchase houses for the homeless
She’s talking about billionaires. Not you. Dont flatter yourself
@@Joe-gw9wh don't get mad wokie
@@josiahlomas2111 I mean she isn’t talking about you
It's not her house, it's a residence for mayor,.any mayor who comes into office. Got it sleepy ?
Josia... Ps- How's your meth lab doing?
She just said crime is down in LA.
Thanks for letting me know where to go if I break in
Lmao ever uhhh heard of Google Earth
His talking about the panic room location @@ojaftertoothpaste7174
@@ojaftertoothpaste7174 google earth wont tell you where the panic room is
@@ojaftertoothpaste7174 Google earth shows where someones panic room is at?
wait....... bail? lol not just released like everyone else?
This is what happens when you give criminals second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eight, nine, and ten+ plus chances back on the streets.
Now why did yall let that nice neighbor tell where the panic room was🤦🏾♀️🤷🏽♀️?
THE PANIC ROOM IS ON THE 2ND FLOOR?!?! REALLY?!?! GO ON....
2nd floor? ... so just make a hole on the ceiling and we're in
Nice house. Mayor jobs must pay Hollywood style salaries huh?
It's not her house, it's the city's house. Whoever the mayor is lives in it.
@@patrickshansoff Nice life. My mayor lives in an average person’s home.
@@LadieKadiethis is Americas second largest city not some small hick town 😂
If this was anyone elses house they woiuldve been out of jail already
Must be nice. They have a safe room. The rest of us schmucks would have been in trouble. We have no safe rooms.
Oh no, let him out right away without bail. Congratulations Bass!!!
Bass is responsible for further decline of LA, disgusting dereliction of responsibility.
Y did the neighbor tell where the panic room is. SMH I think that should be a secret that the panic room is on the 2nd floor.
Fake! She's way too calm to have just had a real home invasion..
If someone broke into my house, I’d help them look for money. 😂
All of LA is a panic room. They're all locked in together.
Why does the comment make me laugh 😂
Nice house - who paid for it?
Any other brake in would be let out with no bail, what a joke
That neighbor has a big mouth 😂
I know right! 🤣
HER POLICIES LEAD TO THIS
*LED*
You’re welcome.
I didn’t know our “activist” mayor was loaded…
They all have guns while preaching against them they can have them but now law abiden citizens
Maybe corruption
Crime state
Lmfao in the mean time intruders taking notes. " ok panic room on the second floor"
*karen.*
My entire apartment is a "panic room". When I'm in it, I'm always panicking.
That is a lot of trash cans...
Squatter illegally evicted. 🤣
What wild is under their laws he will be out of jail later today.
He is a dangerous man, and shouldn't be out in public. Glad the family was okay.
Im not
Bot comment
Why in the World, would the woman say where the panic room is??! 🤣
If they break into your house they're never going to look for them😂
look at the response to this and look at the lack of response to everyone else when ppl call for help ... i guess you can see who the cops really work for and it is not you
Telling everyone where panic room. Should that be confidential
Here's a thought, maybe dont say the location of the panic room on national television 😒
So we’re no longer showing suspects mugshots? Good grief.
Where was the security?! Its getting crazy in the USA
I'm sure he was just hungry and looking for a warm meal 😂 or so would say new York city
It feels like everything crazy happens in LA
Not just LA.
Yup, all the time right here in this state.
The O.J. Simpson Ford Bronco chase
Didn't need Miss Cleo to predict this
Mayors life more important than voters? 🤔
don't just tell people where her panic room is why would you tell people that.
wonderful!!! equity at its finest...
Imagine if the mayor had been out of the house at the time, she would have a squatter who she wouldn't be able to get rid of.
He’s being charged with felony breaking and entering but I found this on the web
Breaking and entering, in contrast, is usually classified as a misdemeanor, resulting in less severe penalties, unless it's associated with other criminal activities .
So if someone breaks into your home it’s a misdemeanor but if you break into a public official it’s a felony
Dude broke the codes yoo, you can't steal from the thief..😅
How about NO BAIL for repeat offenders???
How does Karen Bass have so much money?
This is the house given to the mayor of Los angeles to live in while serving.
@@Tsunami655 Sounds like a good perk.
by stealing it from people who actually work and create something for a living
Funny how Gascon didnt release this guy lol
I want a panic room lol wish i could afford that in this economy
Once again another classic rules for thee and not for me situation when your home is broken into no bail release of the criminal within the hour but when its a law maker/Rich person Large bail /felony charges
Los Angeles has never been a safe place. I have lived here for 63 years so I should know that! I came from Cleveland Ohio 14 years before that. I hope when I get to either Heaven or Hell or Limbo it will be better.
She can kick everyone out
This isn't her home. It's the official L.A. city mayor's residence.
Who has a panic room? or who becomes a victim in their own home. when you’ve got a 308 and a dumpster
When it comes down to these politicians getting attacked on both sides there's something as a society we're doing wrong🤔
"Mayor's Mansion" lmaoooo
Bail?
We all know the bail was set at 100k only because it’s the mayor’s house…had it been anyone else they would’ve been let out with a ticket.
Awesome not Newsome. Panic room huh? WTF is a panic room? Do they have a happy room, sad room, weird room , thinking room etc? Creeps!
Lesson learned: never break into the house of a celebrity or official.
Now you have reason to pursue the criminal, what a joke
the city is safe. I feel so safe. Now I feel better.
Homeless person just want cuddle, since she’s a huge supporter of the unhouse.
Lmao she’s such a bad mayor it doesn’t even matter
That big ol house. Is the Mayor’s? Shady deals.
Not everyone has a panic room nor can afford security . And everyday folk have their criminals released ....no bail at all!!😢😅
Thanks Karen now we have to move the panic room location.
Yep, when it happens to them and their families it’s a high bail, but for the rest of us, they want to pass laws not requiring bail.
With the homeless/housing crisis in LA bet you could put a bunch in that place, didn’t notice any camping out around there, strange!
Wow, that’s a big house.
Safe city
If your a politician….you got protection…
Doesn't that mean his a resident.
what a freaking MAYOR! step down!
Nice to see a mayor living in a Manson as usual.
Under 1 hour gang
👇
So different standards for different people. If this nut broke into a trailer my guess is he would be out with NO bail. .
I bet she was the only one in the Panic Room.
Where is her security detail
That's a mansion?!
Mayors mansion
the WHAT room 😂😭
So much for that 'friend' 😅
Here the guy has a relatively pretty violent past, this being a high profile case, yet not a single mugshot of the criminal anywhere. Meanwhile petty misdemeanor cases make national news if the media can push a narrative.
i see this like when the founding fathers started to fight back
Woww so city so bad she has a panic room but won't do anything about the crime
mans got balls
Dem polices and the consequence.🤦🏾♀Also shame on the neighbor for disclosing where their Haven is.
Bad editing.
After the anchor said what the subject was charged with.
They could've just edited out the " We'll be right back" part
Thanks Paramore Global another great job.
😜
mayor has no security?
Why she look like the overseer from fallout
