    Hello both I have recently come across your youtube site and have to admit it has to be one of the best. I live in the Scottish Highlands but was born in Adelaide. I came over with my parents in 1952 to the uk so it has almost been 70 years in uk. I had tried a few times over the years to go back to Australia but life always seemed to get in the way, now I am too old at 75. At least I will be able to see my home country by following you. Thank you so much

    Again another authentic episode. Your not complaining just keeping it real. If we show all the good and not the challenges we lead other into false pretences of what travelling our beautiful country is all about. Some could waste a lot of money thinking it’s already roses.

    Firstly, I want to honour the courage that shows through in your authenticity 🙂 In this age of social media where everyone has an opinion and not always a positive one, I feel that it's important to stand firm in sharing what it's truly like in your everyday life. The good and the bad. Life isn't always happy and people who believe that it "should be" or dislike seeing the unhappy side of things are likely trying to escape their own troubles. I for one love living vicariously through you and other content creators as we are not financial enough at this stage to do what you all do. Secondly, when you two fight, do you have a plan in place to create safe space afterwards to calm yourselves and then come back together in a loving way? I know it may be difficult to do in such a small space but you also have the great outdoors.

    • @itsJackandMegan
      @itsJackandMegan  2 года назад +1

      Hey mate sorry for the late reply here! firstly thank you for watching and taking the time to comment :) You're right life is not always happy and we accept this! Our plan although it doesn't always go to plan is to give each other space when we have an argument which does happen quite a bit in our small space. Another thing we always do before we go to sleep if we have had an argument that day is to talk it out so we don't sleep on it if we don't resolve it that night we are going to wake up in a bad mood!

    • @4wd4mentalhealth58
      @4wd4mentalhealth58 2 года назад

      @@itsJackandMegan All good on the delayed reply. I'm sure you've got a lot going in and I appreciate that you take time out to reply. Sounds like you've got a good plan for those times that you disagree. I agree that going to sleep with unresolved issues can definitely make the next day start in a negative way so finding a way to resolve things before sleep is the way to go. Keep up the good work 🙂

    a few months ago I returned home to victoria after a solo road trip up the east coast in my 4wd to cape tribulation. it brings me so much joy seeing you both going to all the places I did and experiencing their beauty. I made the correct decision by going to the Cardwell spa pool at 7am, and had the entire place to myself as well, it was simply magical. I was wondering whether you have been or were planning to go to Josephine falls, it is a must see! I have been following you both since the beginning, and for some reason it makes me feel so connected to you both seeing Megan swimming and standing in the exact places I was, and staying at the same camp grounds such as the big crystal creek campground in your last video. excited to see whats next, love your work so much!!!!

    Seriously though, very beautiful 😍
    Was going to say, being on the road full time (or for long periods of time) is all roses & sweets. There’s plenty of little challenges to get through and sometimes it’s just the fact simple things we take for granted in a house become so difficult on the road, ie: Hot running water, flushing thrones etc etc. No biggy here, just make sure you listen & support each other & remember that you won’t always have the opportunity to do this, eventually other commitments will take hold & you look back on these memories you’re creating with such fondness.

  • @bruceaskin9645
    @bruceaskin9645 2 года назад

    Jack and Megan, Just a few tips for when you plan to come to Tassy. Weather plays a major part in where you can go and do , and whether its enjoyable or miserable. The best time to visit is November. September begins to warm up , but we usually get a two week relapse of winter in October. January , 30c is hot here , high humidity, high UVs and you will get sunburnt. Autumn is windy, and something to keep in mind all year round , if we get a southerly it will be cold, not unusual to get December snow. Right now is the wet season, but we rarely got two weeks without some sort of rain, all year round. Allow yourself at least two weeks to get around the island. East coast is pretty much like any other coastline, with the exception of the south east , some spectacular coastline. Biggest attraction is the center ( cradle mountain, overland track ) and the western forests. far south has also some interesting places. Travel times can vary greatly, according winding mountain roads. Food ( take away , restaurants )can vary from extremely good to extremely poor, as does the service accompanying it. Queenstown looks like the face of the moon , and is interesting for all of half an hour. Strahan however is a great place to wind down , sit at cafe's and relax, is also the base for other adventures , such as Gordon river cruise, mountain steam train, etc. One general rule here in Tassy, never go anywhere without a jumper , regardless of current weather, it can change very quickly. As for the boat itself. Take an overnight trip, the sea can get very boring after a few short hours. The night trip , board , have a few drinks , go to bed and when you get up , its already arrived in Devonport. Meals on board are over priced and over rated, best to eat prior and take snacks for the evening. dont be late , the boat doesnt wait . Parking fees can be a real pain, in the cities. best to look for K Mart type car parks that dont charge. If you do happen to get a ticket ( with the exception of a police one ) just ignore it. they will sent a letter of demand, but in reality they have no lawfull authority to fine you. Hope this is helpfull.

    Good decision. Keep it real. For me it is what I like about your presentations. Its real life. It is good that you can express and share with us. I can see a difference in you both from your first lap. Is that due to the fact that you are doing more planning and thinking due to RUclips etc. and your audience rather than winging it and heading into the unknown like the first time round? Does this in itself create an invisible pressure within you both that you find you want to keep raising the bar? I am probably wide of the mark but the thing where you were considering doing something dangerous at the waterfall to get that shot.....was that for you, or was it because you felt it was something that would give a `wow' factor to the blog? You guys have been doing fine so far with everything you have shown and shared with us. Personally, and I am sure for everyone else too, we don't want you to put yourselves in harms way in order to `raise that bar'. We know that you both want to improve your presentation. We know a lot of hard work and effort both mental and physical, goes into the conception and final presentation but hey, don't let it take away or detract in anyway from the experience and joy of what you are doing. It should be fun and we will take it anyway it comes.

      Cheers Phil! I think we always want to be putting out the best video each week that we can possibly create so we definitely put the pressure on ourselves at times 😅 that’s another reason we tend to get frustrated with ourselves when our energy is low. Happy to hear you're enjoying them Jon! I think a hightop should have no problems visiting the places we do! Even when popping our tent we very rarely encounter trees low enough to hit. Thanks so much for watching!

      Thanks to you both.
      Both of you just concider for 5 seconds, as your out and about enjoying your trip, some of us like me are stuck in a very cold factory in Melbourne, on a Sunday, doing a boring job for 12hrs, hence why I've considered the troopy.
      Cheers . Jon.

      The height of a hitop itself shouldn't be an issue, the center of gravity will, however, change and fuel consumption increases.

    Further Tip , there is an amazing abundance of wildlife here, which does unfortunately include snakes. You may even be lucky enough to see the supposedly extinct thylacine , There have been numerous sightings and even some recent footage, I myself have seen one. Much of Tassy is working forest, trees grow very quickly here. If the subject interests you, come and see the truth of forest regeneration , far different than the lies of destruction , told by the green media. Lastly if you cant see the road ahead, slow down. It is not uncommon for sections of road to remain wet and slippery, when sunlight doesnt reach it. Soggy ground and strong winds also means trees fall regularly. Anywhere of the main road carry a chainsaw, incase you find the road blocked. But overall have a great time when you visit.

    It's funny you mentioned how you both effect each others mood, you should research Dr. Joe dispenza book called becoming supernatural, and read the section on coherent hearts and body frequencies!! I think it could help you in these types of energless weeks!!
