I explain #howto change the coolant temperature sensor on a #Vauxhall #Opel #Corsa C #DIY. This is such an easy job, you really shouldn't pay for a mechanic to do it! This will fix failed coolant temperature gauges, and could even improve engine efficiency and power.

Finally a video for my astra mk4, hopefully it's on the side for me too
Thanks
How should my fan work on opel corsa B 1.4 1996 with AC that doesnt work?
My auto corsa 2004 also sinse yesterday when the auto started the fan go on immediately to the max . If you switch the car off and start again the it wip gone ....Is this the sensor problem or the pump? Thanks
Would this make your car idle low? Thanks for the video.
Probably not, that would be more likely a misfire, or stuck throttle body. Do you have any engine codes? If you do t have one, buy a cheap OBD Bluetooth code reader and the Torque Android app.
Gadgit83 thanks for the reply
Its a 19mm socket
Hi!
Excuse, Do you know what is the range correct of temperature?
My car stars the blowers when the engine reach 100 celcius grades...
And at the morning when I star the engine, the RPM begining ~ 1500-2000 RPM, after a few minutes the RPM go down slowly. Could be the sensor temperature giving wrong information to the ECU?
That sounds like normal behaviour. However, if temperature is reaching 100C in normal conditions (e.g. 25 C, normal weight, normal flat roads) then you probably have a problem with cooling. Likely to be low coolant, failing water pump, blocked thermostat, blocked radiator or low airflow.
Hello mate I've got a astra 2009 1.4 petrol is it the same place as the one your fitting thanks
Probably, but not seen it
Hi would this make the car randomly rev up to about 1k in idle but with no error code? I don’t think it would so don’t want to replace it unnecessarily. Cheers.
Possibly, I guess if it thinks the engine is cold it might idle up to warm up. Mine does that most of the time anyway I think...
This is solution for p0115?
what is the reason for changing it
whether the sensor affects the operation of the engine
Yes, it will affect the operation of the engine. The ECU uses engine temperature to determine how rich to run, so if the temperature sensor has failed in a way that makes the ECU think the engine is cold, it will put more fuel in (to run better and warm up faster) which will give poor economy. If it reads too hot, it may run the engine with more fuel too (a rich flame burns cooler than lean) which will also cause poor fuel economy
It may also prevent the engine from starting normally
If the themperatur is good but while driving suddenly falls to 0 on the dashboard is it caused by a defective sensor?
It could be, given how cheap they are, it would be an easy way to diagnose if the problem is there or somewhere else if you try replacing it
I have the same issue with my astra the temperature not showing right when the car is drive .but when stopped is ok .fan works ok.
Could be the thermostat, check out my video on that.
@@Gadgit83 thermostat you right just change back to normal
Great stuff
i have opel tigra temperatuer go up
There is another one on the radiator...
how to test the coolant sensor
