Wow... incredible Sub. Thanks for the detailed review. Way way out of my budget, but it can hang on my wish-list, or rather my dream-list!
For $10k I'll go full JTR at that point or grab some GSG Devastator flat packs and just crumble my foundation with those beats 😅 nice review though and for pointing out the pros and cons.
Great job Shane, I thought this was one of your best reviews yet. Im sure you'll get alot of flack on there price even though these aren't really meant for people just getting into ht. I thought you did a great job of pointing out that these are much more than subwoofers. I hope you get a chance to add one of the ultrasonic companions 2 really appreciate these.
Pretty wild is knocked down that fan lol - nice review :)
All movie theaters need at least 10 of these and would shake the whole room better than ever.
Their quick their tight they do it right! Quote of 2020👍🏼👍🏼
Now we need a review of that 50 inch sub haha! I wanna know how that does infrasonics
WOW that price!
This makes similar performing, and far cheaper, JTR and PSA subs look like serious bargains.
Ok sure. Lol
@frequency waterfalls What makes you say that?
Wow, that looks epic!
It’s impressive.
Interesting Sub. The price and the lack of physical controls would be a deal breaker for me.
Cool design and I definitely don’t doubt it’s performance, though!
I absolutely love my PSA EV1812. It's a beast and much, much more affordable.
I agree also these 18's here should do much lower than 20hz but I guess Ascendo's box tuning and the built in amp filtering out the lower frequencies
Professional subwoofer 😁🤝
Damn, Patrick made an appearance.
He does that sometimes.
Hi there how does this sub compare to the perliston d215
Please review the white phastech tower in your room
Review the ascendo 32 inch sub then .😊
this or the jtr captivator 4000ulf?
Is that an AudioQuest power adapter?
50 inch, yes please
The woofer look like is made of paper and similar to a PEAVEY Black widow cone . I like it .
You should check out Power Sound Audio and Seaton Sound, they use Pro Audio drivers From B&C made in Italy
These are made in Germany. You know that German engineering 🚗 💨
SpareChange i am Electrician for more than 20 years. Few years ago we build a ride (Ninjago) for Legoland Florida .The company that design the ride was From Germany . They are very perfectionist and proud of there work design . I really like to work there because everything looks really clean ( Wiring and all the control boxes) .
Shane how about some nice JTR'S!!!
Shane. 4K Reviews!
Procella audio next please
I ordered two PB3000 subs maybe not as good as this subs but I’m sure they will be fine
Awesome subs you'll be more than satisfied.
I have those two in my theater, they are true beasts! Congrats!
Your PB3000s are gonna dig into the the lower 20hz, probably flat to 15hz. If you don't plan to go above 110db, your subs will be better than this monster.
You will love them! I just hope your AVRs auto correct system will time align and EQ them perfectly. Otherwise you might have 1 or 2 massive dips in the response and it will feel like a lack of bass.
Going dual is better but it requires some tinkering and probably some gear to create a graph to visually see what is going on instead of guessing with your ears.
Quetzalcoalt I decided to go with two because I’ve been told it’s always better . My AVR is a marantz sr8012 . I’m excited to hear them but I understand you gotta dial them in perfectly . I hope I made the correct choice. I decided to buy two PB3000 instead of a single PB 16Ultra . I know the ultra is 100 times better but duals are better than just one sub
Marc Gallant yeah most of this RUclipsrs affiliate with svs so I’m not sure if they sweet talk the svs too much or they are actually good subs . I have a sealed sub but decided to go with svs ported sub since I’ve heard they are good for movies . I gotta hear them to see if they really are a beast
where can i get Unos Creator Software?
From the dealer.
Are you going to review the 24 inch version later?
We've got stuff planned.
Wow shane, how much 32inch cost one?
No clue on that one. I know it isn't cheap though.
@@therealshanelee may be a 30k 😁😊
14 900 euros. 160 kg. 😊👍
@@ulflarsson9693 really!!!pretty costly😀
That cost equal to buy one mid range car in my country😂
15:25 for a sub that is rated to go to 27hz that is a lot of movement for anything under 20hz at such low volumes. This thing can reach 127db continues and i know Shane won't blast it full tilt especially when they are two (i don't know a sane person who would thou :D). I don't expect those to be getting more than 50w at this demo.
My question is, do they have a DSP high pass filter built in or the person who is setting those up has to add one manually in the software ? I'm asking this, because if they don't have it, and the setup guy forgets to add this filter, you play the Irene scene (that famous 6.5hz note) at moderate levels to impress your friends and they will definitely over-excurt.
We too the HPF out at Shane's setup because its not needed here. Usually, the default Speaker preset has an HPF, yes
@@GeoffHeinzel Got it, thanks!
What is the Irene scene?
@@bris007 The Irene scene from the movie Black hawk down.
There is a 6.5hz note that is pushed close to 0db, near the clipping point. If you have a ported sub without a HFF to protect it from frequencies lower then the port tuning, the sub excruts like 5 times more. If you have a 22mm xmax sub and you are pushing it to those 22mm, 10hz below the tuning frequency will make the sub move like 60-70mm. Search on youtube the "Irene scene" with "subwoofer" or "home cinema demo" or something. There is a guy that has 16x 18inch sealed subs :D. It's insane.
Damn that's a big woofer, since this doesn't go lower than 27 I'm assuming it's for dedicated theater installs?
Not necessary. Most subs that have high excursion, have heavy cones in order to not flex under the pressure. These subs lack a good punch. The chest kick that happens at 80-120hz. So people who DIY for example 4x 18 inch ultimaxes, add 1 or 2 paper cone subs (like these ones) for this dynamic punch.
@@Quetzalcoatl0 Thank you somebody gets it i was waiting to see if someone thought this so true.
If the subs hit that hard with that frequency response, is there a point to having subs dig into infrasonic frequencies? Why are we obsessed in this HT hobby with sub 20 Hz and would we miss much without it? Is there more to it? These capable subs seem to be just fine without having to go lower. Of course you know what’s missing because you’ve watched those tracks many times, just wondering if others would really appreciate it if they didn’t know what they were missing
I'm guessing you've never felt bass that low.
once you've experienced sub 20hz bass it's hard to go back. it's a drug. over 20hz bass is fun don't get me wrong, but under 20hz is a different beast altogether.
As the comments said, under 20Hz is fantastic but I would still consider everything above it to be more important.
If you want to experience infrasonic bass, try to build a BOSS system. Look for it in the AVS forums. It's cheap to make the basic one. There is a HOVER BOSS too but that one takes more time and more money. Honestly i have one 12 attached under the couch and HOLY. It only give a womble effect do around 15hz, but man it adds a ton of tactile feedback from 23 to 15. Some people are getting 3hz, but that requires the HOVER BOSS to be build.
I can do 110db at 10hz and 115db at 18hz, aaaaand i don't feel it even at those levels. Why u may ask ? It's because you need like 140db to feel 10hz. The lower the frequency the higher the SPL is needed to FEEL it. Yes the doors are slamming, everything is falling in the house, you feel the presence but not the direct wave.
@@Quetzalcoatl0 110db at 10hz you madman!
Its crazy that in this day and age of subwoofers a 18 inch is upper LFE lol . That 32 is going to leave carnage in that room .
😂
I don't think ASCENDO goal for their ported subwoofers was for ultrasonic bass down to 10hz and lower. Their massive 21inch ported sub is only tuned down to 23hz. Goal was around 20hz and over at very very high output levels with practically no port noise disturbance.
Whereas their sealed subwoofers are tuned lower. Helped by different drivers than their ported subs. 15inch sub has a extreme 36mm woofer excursion. And the 24inch sealed sub a unbelievable 90mm woofer excursion. That's more than any commercial and consumer sub in the world
Including their own 50inch sealed sub that is only 35mm woofer excursion. Doesn't need to be higher as a 50inch woofer has so much cone area. To easily produce massive output even down at single digits 5hz.
What is the price for this?
Can't find it anywere...
*edit* I found it.
Nice! What are the white speakers in the background? Lol
Phase Technology.
Imagine buying this over a Rel No 25
The REL is way prettier.
They have a new 50inch sub
Well this goes against what people were arguing with me about a few weeks ago that you need big subwoofer speakers to get real low bass. My Yamaha NS SW300 easily goes down to 20Hz with a 10" subwoofer
Getting low is easy. Getting low at 120db is not. The pb-1000 that i had before could do a max max of 103db at 20hz at the listening position. Now with the new subs i build i easily do 115db at 10hz.
@@Quetzalcoatl0 what the hell do you need 120DB for? I don't need extreme volume like that damaging my hearing worse than it already is. Anyway my subwoofer is more than loud enough. The NS SW is a very loud subwoofer.
Also it's pointless having 10aHz when you can't even hear it.
@@Steve30x Exactly, anything under 17-18hz is pointless to have, a BOSS system should take over down to single digits.
The 120db was for example. No one needs that much. I find that -8MV is enough for a house theater, might push it down to -5db MV but i can't with my current speakers. 3db is 2x the power so ye. -5db MV means that my subs have to each 110db at the listening position. If you watch 1 movie a day without getting exposed to more high spl noise though out the day will NOT damage your hearing. It's all about exposure time. :)
Bass under 18hz is not about hearing it, it's about FEELING it. You feel the power on Godzillas foot steps. You feel the earthquake not hear it. It's a hell of a drug feeling the wobble under 20hz.
@@Quetzalcoatl0 I am more than well aware about exposure time. I have 24/7 tinnitus from exposure from loud music and it takes just a few minutes of 110Db to damage your hearing , just a few seconds of 115 Db to perminantly damage your hearing.
You just have to look up American tinnitus association to get the correct information from their 50+ years of hearing loss and tinnitus research.
Also if I turn up the volume loud enough I can feel the bass with my NS SW300 which goes down to 20Hz. You don't need subsonic bass to feel it.
@@Steve30x Well i've read other research papers about SPL exposure, but ok.
That price for something that can not go below 20hz!! That’s a no for me dawg!! You could grab four Seaton F18 for this price and without question outperform these and with four F18s really pressurize a room.
7:40 Really ? So Trinnov is lying to us ?
EDIT: Listen twice before writing stupid comments!
Your not listening to what he's saying.
@@therealshanelee Ah, yes. It's "other than the Trinnov". I think i should go and sleep now :D. it's too late to think strait.
Thats just ridiculous - for this money you can get almost 3x JTR4000ULF which will dwarf these ones, leaving them shy.... don't understand what is such product for...
What’s so ridiculous?
@@therealshanelee for me - the price vs frequency range extension. 27hz is really high for any contemporary subwoofer. Seems like a more pro sub characteristics. Additionally needing Windows 10 for making any setup is also problematic. I have now svs pb16 ultra and love the app and ease of use.
10k for the subwoofer. Never heard of it.
Now you have.
You heard it here first :p
Like a Super sports car rare and expensive
10k isn’t big price for THAT! :)
Seems like they missed the point, and that point is size being irrelevant the goal is being able to get subsonic. This is the equivalent of building a 3500 sqft house with one bathroom! No thanks on this sub but thanks for the overview.
Yeah but i like that instead of making a compromise they just split it into one sub for loud tight bass and another for infrasonic bass i know it's only for a few who can afford and have space but just imagine being told you had to pick one of the many subs that have to choose loud and tight or good infrasonics this is for a no compromise situation 💪💪
It's horrifying to see how much companies are willing to charge, for a putting a bit of wood around a low-cost driver and amp!
Some of this stuff REALLY is out of control. But there are some, willing to dole out the duckies for it...and then convince themselves that they got the best deal in the entire history of man.
Commercial type theatre at home... here come the divorces.
Aside from that I don’t agree with what this company is doing here, three different subs to achieve the total sub bandwidth.
Shane do you have Krix available over there?
Real Question i know some people make claims that they have a sub that can play loud tight and real infrasonic but i don't think you can have everything in one so do you know of a sub like that?
I don't like the finish, seems cheap. My opinion offcourse!😅😅
They're not meant to be out in the open and seen so no need for a nice finish. However you can get it in whatever finish if you want.
The main reason Klipsch wins in marketing 😄😄. Looks mostly sell. But I think these are meant for behind the screen or somewhere hidden
I think you are right, but neverless they are monsters for sure.
