I wonder how many of your subscribers have a Trinnov, give a thumbs up 👍😁
This channel is so underrated! I come here time after time before making a purchase or putting something on my wish list!
awesome! im very much looking forward to demoing the Trinnov next time Im in seattle!
All that functionality is mind boggling to say the least. Very impressive. I bet it sounds incredible.👍
I’m still excited for my AVM 70 to get here!😬
Absolutely love mine!
He said he gets sound dropping from rear channels.....I'm assuming you don't experience that? Not sure how that would be forgivable at all
Cool I'll buy one in the next 20 years
Pretty cool, something for me to consider when I retire in a few years.
Congrats great upgrade!
A very powerful and future proof processor. Thanks for this review.
Again, another video where my wife sees it and says, "No hun, not in a million years will I let you get it" :( lol
🤣🤣
Just cover one of the digits on the price lol.
Just have separate accounts. Put some money on your own account each month that you can spend on whatever you want..... but the price of this is too steep for me for a product that does not age well.
@@goffe2282 odd you think this particular product isn't aging well.
@@therealshanelee My bet is generally these product types don't usually age well...this one looks pretty future proof...? With factory support of course...
Thank you. I really liked this video.
Best opening ever!!! Love Ferris! This is a well deserved victory lap. 16 channels? Not enough!! 32 channels? NOT enough!! 64 CHANNELS ? JUST RIGHT. 😅🤣😂
I believe you can max it at 64 if I’m not mistaken.
Wow. Imagine how big your room would have to be to accommodate 64 channels. Lol
Yeah well Atmos apparently does go full 64 channals. Bruh did he say this thing is $38 thousand? Man this is when you wish you had a celebrity friend.
Thanks for the info.
I checked out the Trinnov Alt 32 at CEDIA 19 and it was love at first sight. Even more so after I heard the Wisdom demo with it. Alt 16s were all over the place there too. I can’t quite afford one, but I just ordered an Anthem AVM70 and can’t wait!
That's what I plan to get as well. I'm losing my mind having to wait.
@@tpoulet Cool man. Ya I know I hate waiting so much ugh!!
Awesome man!!!!
Damn your system is high end. Those Mac's with the beamers are farking sweet👌. I have Cary audio with beamers. This is also a good match 👍
How do you set a desired preset as the default when the trinnov is turned on.
Things are getting crazier and crazier!!!!!!
Hi Shane, has it got similar sparkle to good old Integra DRC? - Thank you
Shane. Have you heard it against the StormAudio processor? If so how does it compare?
Hmmm, sounds like I may have to pick up A Quiet Place for that surround mix...
I know it is cool and more expensive, so I'm good with my current setup. I still have the 2010 Onkyo 7.2 AV receiver.
Awesome review as always. Why the switch from the 16 to the 32? Did you notice a difference or is it mainly having the channels for when you get a bigger place? I had originally thought I'd just get a Emotiva rmc1 but in the years wait for them to add Dirac and get it stable I found myself looking to just buy the Trinnov or the Audio Storm. Im tired of swapping units out every year or two.
Looks like a Trinnov is in your future.
Your neighbors must love you
I definitely wouldn’t call this a budget friendly processor
Everyone has some spare change. Keep saving it up
It's not even not budget friendly either, it's a toy for upper income bracket lol
$2500 3d audio option.
@@Roof_Pizza Do any movies even use these three it adds?? Dolby Laboratories®, DTS Inc® and Auro Technologies®.
Hello, how did you connect your subs to the Alt32? The subs I looked at like REL dont have an input for balanced connections, so just curious how you were able to connect so many subs. Thanks!
Adapters
Which model of Altitude 32 did you get?
Question: how would you rate the Trinov for music reproduction. I play music in 2.1 format, how would you describe the audio quality on a Trinov in this format vs a dedicated pre-amp? Thanks!
Sounds great in my theater. It's main function is home theater though.
I just got my one yesterday, sdp-75. It sounds amazing, day and night difference.
You were right, Shane.
Thanks.
Awesome. Congrats!
I have lot of rips stored on a external HDD 5 TB but my brother owns a lot of the disc I have stored on that and not easy to access it when my drive goes bad. Also I do not wanna rip all over again al my movies. So I'm searching for a online cloud backup solution where I can upload my whole collection so I never have to worry about losing my lovely movies. This question is in my head every day of the week please can someone share there experience or best options I can go with (cloud storage) I hope there will be a video in the future about this topic or just a answer to this question. A Nas doesn't fit in the way I play movies in my theater and I want it somewhere that I have almost 100% the feeling that they are save and can be redownload whenever my drive goes bad. Question what is adorable/secure and good amount of storage cloud solution to do this. I hope someone can help me sorry for bad English but this bothers me alot 😄👍🏼
It would be good to do a shoot out video between your Trinnov, and the equivalent Storm Audio, and Lyngdorf processors.
Besides having THX Design and build my home theater will keep the energy investment like a hobby.
AVR vs this processor??
And what this prosser does ?
with the kind of setups this thing is intended for its cost is the least of anyone's worries
That’s bad ass!!!!
Yeah it’s alright 😉
The 3D loudspeaker remapping feature destroys all other room correction. Only heard it once for about an hour. Ridiculous
Shane, you are the perfect pitchman for this content! I'm reconfiguring my HT and am looking at adding the Altitude 32 to my system. Do I need the Amplitude as well, or is the 32 able to do everything on its own? (9.6.4 Perlisten D215s(2) MAdvr Envy)
You'll definitely need external amplification. Get any one of the Amplitudes for their simple one cable connection. Shoot me an email if you want to pick one up. I can set you up.
Shane, what stand/mount are you using for your trinnov mic setup
amzn.to/2MnqFZL
that mic looks so cool to
too
hey man would you say trinnov sounds better than dirac live?
Now this is a serious product😀😀😀
Would love to see a comparison with Steinway Lyngdorf P300, or even just Lyngdorf MP60
Hey Shane...Why don't you review the budget processors like the Marantz AV7705 and Yamaha ( Not sure what model) ? How does it stack up with this high end processors ? Like to hear your opinion...
I've done budget one before.
never heard one, but i think the 32 is the best on the market, and for the price, it should be.
I totally want one. I have a small 5.1.2 system. Would like to add more surrounds soon maybe 4 more side surrounds. Trying to justify the price. But I figure if I only buy this for the next 20 years it would pay for itself.
Worth it if you can swing it.
For Auro 3D to sound good the hight channels need to be pretty much exactly above the mains and surrounds. And most importantly exactly 30 degrees above the lower channels.
That's what it is recorded for and will not sound natural on other layouts(even with 3d remapping).
If its installed this way it sounds really really nice especially with music.
Does that mean Atmos will be in the wrong position?
Thanks for stressing this point. I have a 7.2 in my bed layer, and was planning on trying out AURO 3D with 4 height channels. Mounting the front height in alignment with the fronts is no problem. But I was planning on mounting the rear height channels midway between the surrounds, and the surround backs. After reading your comment, I now know that is not recommended, and I will not get the most that a 7.2.4 AURO setup has to offer.
16 channel upgradable will do for me. It's coming.
👍👍
@SpareChangeYT hey Shane hello. I’m looking for a altitude 16 trinnov. I see you recommend value electronic, if I remember you might have mentioned possibly a discount can you elaborate on this. Please. Thanks Shane

A beautiful piece of equipment and if I had money to spare I would grab one. Sadly that's not the case.
Off topic but I just picked up "Hell or High Water" on 4k. Looked through RUclips for any reviews and didn't see much. $10 at Walmart might make a decent review!
Is that a curved screen in your cinema?
Could you give me a quick comment on Trinnov vs Storm Audio Processors. I must admit, I'm a little surprised at the B & W speakers you use. Are you really happy with those speakers for movies and music? Thanks.
I don't use them for music but they're great for movies.
Off topic but have you had player issues? I’ve recently had a few 4K movies freeze during playback. It seems like all players have this issue, any suggestions other than cleaning disk?
Never had any problems like that on my Panasonic.
@@SqueamishPuppet good to hear, do you know the model?
I have the udp820 and spare change has the 9000. Basically the same player. The 9000 has a better power supply and high end dac for two channel listening and another projector profile on the HDR optimizer.
@@SqueamishPuppet I have the ubp-x700
I've only delt with the Panasonic player but that's basically a budget player.
Hi, I’m considering upgrading from Emotiva to Trinnov. Wondering if the firmware on Trinnov is responsive and stable compared to Emotiva (v2.2).
Better be for $30k.
🤣 I love the Emotiva but it gets sticky between input changes and sometimes when sound formats change. I saw in your channel that the Trinnov had a major firmware upgrade and was curious of your experience since you also have an Emotiva. Thanks. Keep up with the great vids! 😁👍
Hey I have watched all you Trinnov videos, very well done. Because I have a 9.1.6 set (6subs actually) how can the Altitude 16 handle my subs. Do I have to continue using a Minidsp or can I get rid of it.
If you buy the 24 or 32 channel you can throw the minidsp on ebay.
@@therealshanelee I get that but the 24 is a rare find and new is out of my price range unless you get some sort of crazy deals through your channel, we can talk off line if that’s the case.
So you are saying the Altitude 16 can not calibrate all six subs as one to make seat to seat even bass or can it
@@duanemahussier3495 you can calibrate 16 subs if you want. There's a podcast on the channel where they talk about all the features.
Shane what microphone stand and cradle your using?
It’s included with the mic.
What is that scene from Midway?
Towards the end.
Is it better than the older Krell Evolution 707 not counting the atmos which the 707 didnt have?
If it doesnt have atmos or DTS-X I wouldn't recommend it over anything modern day.
@@therealshaneleeThanks for reply- I was just referring to the non atmos part IE dolby TRU HD/DTS MA as I have a small HT room and only use 5 speakers and sub.
How do you feel the AL32 vs the AL16 compare sonically being you have used both if channel count didn't matter 🤔
I couldn't tell the difference.
So What was the reason you jumped to the AL32 if you couldn't notice much of a difference unless you were looking into a much larger room in your next place 🤔
This is one mighty impressive unit, apart from the Altitude32 which has an optional 16AES out board, are you aware of any other way or if there is atmos processor /AV separates /AVR that would just do say a 5.1.6 processing, but leave the signal in digital form instead of XLR balance analog out, output the Atmos processed digital signal via AES3 or Spdif digital out to an external high fidelity stereo DAC, say for front L and R channels?
One of the main reasons I got the A32 was for just this reason. I think the Altitude is the only processor that can send processed digital outputs out.
Is this a waste to buy if I'm not using more than six channels.? I am using a Nad processor which is very nice but I wonder if this would generate higher sound quality for six channels?
Tough call. If you're never gonna add more speakers you'll be fine with NAD and Dirac.
Shane,
Is there any particular reason that you did not use the Trinnov amplifiers. They do appear to be another excellent product.
I like the McIntosh sound plus the resale on macs is the best in the biz.
Great product. As soon as I win the lottery I'll purchase one...most of my spare change goes towards my children's college fund.
This thing is a whole year of tuition lol
I would love a Trinnov for my 5.2.4 system, but I can't justify spending more than a JBL SDP-55.
What adapter are you using to hold the trinnov mic?
It comes with the microphone.
@@therealshanelee oh, I bought mine 2nd from a guy in my state and It came with the mic and usb but not the adapter for a boom mic stand. Do you know the proper name for that adapter?
Awesome awesome piece!!! But unfortunately in my country an alititude 16 is priced at $26000AUD and the 32 at $56000. Unfortunately never going to happen for me but your a very lucky man..... enjoy 😎 hopefully more awesome movie reviews with that nice gear 👍👍
So fly to the US and bring it back to Australia. Problem solved.
Lucky that he got one for free on demo i would assume?
I'd like to see the anthem avm 90 whenever it's avail
Oh crap, should I get a car or a Trinnov? What a dilemma to be faced with. LOL
Better than mcintosh mx170 and jbl syntesis SDP-75?
Yes
Love your contact and a avid subscriber to your channel.
Just a comment regarding Overall volume in a home theater.
I have been a home theatre Enthusiast for years, I have my own dedicated home theatre room. I now have hearing loss and tinnitus (Loud ringing in my ears constantly)
Due to listening to my home theatre at levels far too loud, for far too long .
Home theatre separates, a avrs , speakers, and especially subwoofers, have come such a long way in the last 10 years, they sound great but at a cost to the listener , (listening in a enclosed environment at levels far too loud for the human year.)
Just wanted to let Subscribers know that be careful of the volume levels on your home theatre:
Please enjoy your home theatres , beware ,of levels even below reference. Hearing damage Happens over time not automatic as I can attest. I cannot enjoy my home theatre like I once did. Unfortunate, but true.
I always say, reference levels don't matter. Listen at a comfortable level at all times.
Agreed hopefully everybody gets the message
That's the reason why I never exceed the 110DB barrier on mine ... :)
I would love to see a review of a complete Sterinway & Lyngdorf surround setup with the P300 pre. It should be even better...
No, it won’t be. Steinway trades on the name. You can do a lot better for the price.
One day Shane. One Dat that Trinnov will be mine
Get that 💳 handy
Love your channel. Would love to do what you do once every three or four years. Previously did this work for a living, and wile I really enjoy the final product when complete, it’s still work to me. Have realized that the passion is still there though and really glad about that.
So Shane cashed out the 401K, and........
This is as close to heave on person can get while they are alive lol what a way to go God bless
A “heave on”? Is that a new sex move?
What a flex
How does the Trinnov compare to the McIntosh MX170 processor?
www.mcintoshlabs.com/products/home-theater-processors/MX170
The title of the video should answer your question.
This beast is on my list... I'm going to make it happen. One.... day..... I got to experience a Trinnov last week while filming a Krix MX-30 home theater tour and the difference between a Trinnov and "standard" processor is mind boggling... Great overview Shane, and some really nice gear you are using to demo it. I have a question: are you going to run with your own calibration or going to get it professionally calibrated?
I don't think I could ever have it professionally done since I've always got new gear going in and out. I've been getting better with REW and can pretty much nail the sub alignment and PEQ. Doing it myself still yields a sizeable sound difference against the other prepros I've tried. It's really in a different class.
@@therealshanelee you seemed to know what you were doing :) just curious as I know that a lot of people over here that have them have them professionally done. The system I heard last week blew me away with how much more detail and clarity there is compared to my own Denon 8500. My setup is pretty decent (Krix MX-10 // 7.3.6) and the system I heard was a bigger Krix MX-30 // 9.4.6, and it was a familiar sound but I could literally hear the glass breaking at a level I’ve never experienced before. Great video. Love your work. I’m working on a Trinnov once I get my separates in :)
@@BuildMontage I've had the 8500. It's a solid unit. Definitely different sounding then the altitude. Wouldn't mind getting some Krix but I don't think they deal over here in the US.
@@therealshanelee I love my Krix speakers. I haven’t made a full in depth video on them yet (just installation and a few demos) but there is few vids on my Mx-10s on my channel... the wall of sound concept they championed is next level. Krix also became the exclusive distributor for Trinnov in Australia so I def want to push my speakers to their potential. And yes Krix don’t sell there yet, I get asked A LOT as my main audience is in the USA but hopefully one day they will. Sorry I’m just a massive fanboi of Krix haha!
@@therealshanelee a user on avforums did a demo of arendal vs krix vs ascendo.. ultimately arendal won
Ever been to a casting call ?
Is it possible to get one at $6408. Which shop?
Not $6408 maybe $6550 though.
@@therealshanelee that’s the Trinnovo altitude 32?
Will feel a bit weird to connect my new Altitude 32 to my 49" monitor-now-TV.
Guess you're more of an audio rather than a video guy.
I think you should consider to test Acurus Muse 16 and the Acurus Act4 20. You will not regret it. In terms of sound quality has nothing to envy from trinnov. Except for some other extra option, that in my opinion is not of my needs.
They're both good sounding but they're not a Trinnov.
I read more than once that these are comparable to the Datasat LS10 and 20.
Those are basically discontinued.
The Trinnov 32 is a beast of a unit. But it is important for your viewers to note that a DATASAT RS20i can be purchase on the used market for under $5,000. The DATASAT AP20, the professional version of the RS20i, was used in the finest theaters, including IMAX theaters for years and it is on par with the Trinnov. I've heard both. they are very, very close. It would be awesome if you reviewed a RS20i. But you won't. You are nothing but a puppet for Value Electronics. They own your ass. No need to spend $20 K on a processor when you can easily get a processor on par with the Trinnov for $5k on the used market. Just putting it out there to your viewers.
Hi viewers! The Datasats are basically discontinued. This idiot that posted this comment neglected to tell you this. Wouldn't it be great if I reviewed a product that basically has no future a head of it.
Shane.... why so hostile? Most of your viewers can not afford a $20K or $30K processor. But a lot can afford $4k - $5k. For that kind of money they can purchase a used DATASAT RS20i reference processor that rivals the $20K Trinnov and gives the Trinnov a run for the money at a much much more affordable cost. I have heard both, and own an RS20i myself. It decodes Dolby Atmos, DTS-X, AURO-3D and much more, and has dirac live. Datasat is still in business and their units are still in production. So anyone saying that it is discontinues does not know what they are talking about. There was a firmware update just last month for all of their units. Datasats remain in use in many of the worlds finest cinemas to this date. Just trying to inform your viewers of a fantastic alternative exists .... for a fraction of the price. You don't need to be so hostile and call me an idiot. Very unprofessional.
@@dfhifi7718 you want me to read back what you wrote in your original comment or are you intelligent enough to understand why you might think my response was hostile? Datasats are a dead product right now. If you actually owned one you'd know this. And who are you to tell me what I should and should not be discussing. The last time I checked this was my channel. You can see your way out if what I speak about hurts your feelings. Thanks for watching!
@@therealshanelee Saucy!!! Who ever said my feelings were hurt? You hurt my feelings ? .... oh Shane...please. I just said it was unprofessional. All that I said is that a Datasat on the used market can be had for under $5k, and gives the Trinnov a run for its money when decoding Atmos, DTSx, and Auro-3d. For those who can not afford $20K - $30K , or is not Value Electronic's "little" bitch, pushing their products, it is a great solution. What do you not understand? Obviously you have reading Comprehension issues. But then again what can you expect from a youtuber who's prior profession was selling toasters at BestBuy. As far as seeing my "way out." No....... thats OK. I think I'm going to stick around for a while.
@@dfhifi7718 wow. You're dense.
Where part 2 Shane?
Would like to see a head to head vs storm audio ISP MK2... maybe you can borrow Gene’s? 🤣 anyways that thing looks amazing... when I retire maybe I can afford something like this.
I would like to see this as well, or at least some thoughts so I can make a decision.
Probably the biggest factor if you go with a Trinnov.
ruclips.net/video/3sOUj8ZWySw/видео.html
@@therealshanelee I went with a trinnov 32. Complicated but Incredible. It also increases the to-do list which I did not expect, and increases your to-spend list even further. These are my only regrets.
Cmon man... I only have 2 kidneys to satisfy my 2 ears
Loved this. Would be nice if you could actually make a guide on how to connect 2 different Synths to the processor splitting channels.
Why do you need to split channels? You've got 32 available.
@@therealshanelee to be able to power up volumes, fine tune audio, add more subwoofers, etc

SpareChange if you can get your hands on the 1110 and 1160 Boulder combo or just the 1110 preamp retail price of 24k, compare them to this Trinnov.
A Denon or Anthem or Monster sound processor under 8k + 24k Boulder preamp might outgun the Trinov sonically...
Denon and Anthem not even in the same league. Boulder I believe doesn't now make a surround prepro.

It would want to be good. The price of it is unfortunately far from reach for many people. T

9 million? 🤔
