Did you get the amplitude amps?
I will not be getting those.
can you get your hands on Boulder 2120 DAC? to test the ultra-high-end experience...
probably gonna need their 2110 preamps too...
With that price range , every update should be free. What a product.
Don’t forget you need to pay extra for the calibration mic😮
JTR runs a trinnov at axpona. Sounds amazing (JTR speakers help too) reading about these is insane. The reason for 48 channels is the trinnov can be the crossover for your speakers. It can set that up in the optimizer. You can set your speakers up in the wrong spots and it uses the optimizer to try to fix that. It is VERY impressive
48ext can do 48 *discrete* channels. If you want crossovers, it can do 16 extra for a total of 64.
I hung 34 blackout drapery panels around my 14.5' W x 19' L room. Very minimal reflections. I have a 7.2.4 system. Yamaha RX-Z11 receiver. One sub & one transducer in my seating platform riser. Now I have had this system since 2007, I am going to hold onto it for until 2023. That is when I will be able to afford to upgrade. I think that it might be time for me to step up my game a bit. You've given me somewhere to look now.
Killer receiver back in the day.
Be it worth it or not just never going to have 17k around for it. No jealousy involved, enjoy it! And I wish anyone that can afford it and use it well. It really is an awesome piece of home theater gear!
Trinnov is the grail. Dedicated signal for each channel is a night and day difference.
Ive has the pleasure of hearing the Trinov and was blown away on a 11.3.8 system, until he told me the price haha.... Trinnov is something you get with $150000 systems and upwards. As there is fairly little imax etc stuff out there that can process that many channels.
but the difference from high quality reciever to the trinnov... IN MY OPINION is too subtle and not worth the 10x price tag. unless you are rich, then i would glady accept one as a gift.
Awesome Video, thankyou
I would love to have a discussion with my wife on getting a loan for a 17k processor....let’s see how that goes lol!
Lmao
In the calibration world there is a wizard named Adam Pelz. If you can get him to calibrate your Trinnov you will see what the magic of Trinnov is all about!
I'm sold, the moment you said upgradable and PC. That is finally where we should be.
Do it.
Actually, it does have an ASUS motherboard with a Intel chip. There are two parts to the altitude products, the PC portion and the audio portion, hence the two power supplies. you can't just upgrade the PC component's without consequences though. Trinnov has two major advantages 1: they own their calibration software, which is excellent! 2: They developed their own software IP as opposed to being dependent on 3rd party proprietary ASIC vendors like everyone else.
Is it worth it? as always that depends. assuming a room is treating appropriately, It offers very powerful tools to fine tune the sound within it. is it the best sounding? tough to say. apples to apples, I have yet to make it sound as good as my Theta Casablanca 4a (Theta CB has always ruled this space) but I haven't spent the same amount of time dialing in the Trinnov. This not to say it doesn't good, the sound is surprisingly excellent so far, but this is a VERY complicated device, and just running the optimizer isn't the end all. but as mentioned, there are a vast array of settings to help maximizes sound but this involves LOTS of trial and error.
There are also down sides. this is essentially a PC and it operates as such, which means its clumsy to work with. Many times I've needed to reboot for a simple change to take effect, etc. Also its not a user friendly device, so it'll be odd for others in the home to operate as its a finicky device with a very archaic (basically useless) remote.
If you want the best audio processor for movies and music but with some feature limitations, go buy a used Theta Casablanca and upgrade it (amazing upgrade program, I've had mine for nearly 20 years). processor
If I win the lottery than maybe otherwise my next and maybe last is the emotiva RMC-1. I can run 16 to 28 channels plus it’s upgradeable, so I don’t have to buy new receivers every few years.
thank you for the info,, i totally agree Trinov is the holy grail, Atmos must sound the way it should, i kinda downgraded the atmos since the effect was never a wow for me,
Good to hear you like the Trinnov. Told ya 😊
And don’t forget the super costumer service from France!
Definitely something to aspire to...maybe in the next home theater...
Lyngdorf!
I have the Stormaudio and i feel its worth it, i can simply add when required without changing the whole processor.
At this price point you need to include the Storm, Lyngdorf, Acurus, possibly Dataset dont you ? That would be great to here your views, get used to the Trinnov and see how they compare
I may have one of those coming at some point. To bad this whole lockdown has happened.
So it’s been a year… what’s the verdict?
Appreciate your content new subscriber finally a channel I can follow about my passion for home audio. So what do you think the amp is to get before things start dwindling off and it’s not worth it anymore, smiles per dollar
If your talking about what will hold it's value then that's McIntosh. If you need a solid amp that sounds good and affordable I'd go with an Outlaw.
When you say little space, how little are we talking as far as your HT space you are using that Trinnov in?
Does anybody know what really is the value, that makes people pay so huge money for the trinnov? From this movie or other reviews i only hear you can make a 15 left speakers or 10 subwoofers which is ridiculous to do. Apart from making crazy and in my opinion impractical setups - why would somebody pay 20x the price of normal processor?
Because it processes sound 20x better.
@@therealshanelee Thanks for an answer Shane. Could you elaborate what would be the difference if i have 7.1.4 setup between for example Yamaha a3080 and Trinnov?
I've already got a processor that does sound better than the rest but sadly it will only ever be an 8 channel. I guess I'll have to spend another $30K for the 'best'. How I love home theatre 😁
Without watching id say YES lol
Great video. Hoping you can get the Lyngdorf MP60 or the McIntosh to check out Room Perfect sometime in the future:)
Lyngdorf turned us down.
@@therealshanelee what you mean my friend ( turned us down )?
you have beautiful channel
They said no thanks they won't send a review unit.
Glad you like it, nothing else you get now will probably impress you, if I had anything I would probably buy it,. Would be expensive though as I would need speakers and pretty much everything, oh and the unit is $25000 here in australia, or equal to about $15000us
It'll definitely be a great reference point for anything that comes through the door in the future.
their the apple of home theater got it beautiful marriage between software and hardware
The absolute most money that I would pay for a processor is $3000 there is no way I’ll spend 10,000 15,000 it’s not just spinning that amount of money in order to get the most out of it you would have to match everything around it but people like what they like if you can afford it go for it
Very Nice !!! How does it compares to Datasat RS20 /LS10 processors.
So this thing cost like a car and it sound goog. I hope...
There are also the new theta digital proccessor (delivers class A! to the power amplifier, in all channels) and the bryston, sp4 I think is called. You heard those 2?
Those use TI DSP chips if I'm not mistaken as well. They look really nice though.
so far out of reach for the vast majority of people, why do they even bother, surely they could find a performance price point which is say double the price of a normal receiver ? at ~5 times+ the price of a normal high end top notch home theatre processor it really is out of reach for 99% of people. Crazy overpriced. If they can bring out a model that's twice the price of a high end reciever they'd smash the market. At current prices they must sell a few a year... silly prices.
I agree .. i'd pull a hesitant trigger on a trinnov altitude 16 if it were lets say 9-12K and of coarse already HDMI 2.1 capable
That dude knows his PC brands lol
Worth it, congrats
If this is the endgame as regards processors, Altitutde32 now 6 years old. Should we be waiting for and expecting in a newer model or is this going to be future proof for the foreseeable future.

@@therealshanelee if there’s a new format other than Dolby Atmos a couple of years down the road, does the company guarantee that just a software upgrade will be able to take care of that? I’ve changed so many processors over the years, just want to make certain putting in the bucks is worth it if it’s going to future proof at least 10 years. I know it’s really hard to predict but struggling to understand why this one is just a software update away from benign new while other very expensive processors aren’t.
So, now in 2022, what are you rocking now??
Trinnov Altitude 16 VS. stormaudio ISP MK2 VS. lyngdorf MP60 ?
Hey could you do a review on the JBL Synthesis SDP-55 or 75? No one has done an in depth video on them yet.
The 55 is the same as the Arcam av40 and the 75 is a Trinnov Altitude. Both of which I’ve already reviewed.
@@therealshanelee Im on it man. Thank you.
Comparing Trinnov to the "commercial" brands (Emotiva, Denon, Marantz, NAD, Arcam, Anthem, Integra, etc.) is not comparing apples to apples. Trinnov is high-end HT gear, which is better than any commercial brand. You have been blown away because you have entered another league, another category. There are several options in that upper league. For example, Datasat which, like Trinnov, is miles ahead of the other commercial brands. In my books, Datasat (rs20, LS-10) is even better, but both rock.
If you spend the $ wisely, you can certainly hear a difference. Unfortunately, in this hobby, EVERYTHING matters.
How different is Emotiva RMC-1 compared to Trinnov? the price difference we know is ridiculous. We can hold on to RMC1 for years to come without upgrading so why spend so much unless there is a big difference in sound.
Can you get your hands on and review some AudioControl products?
Already on the channel.
Trinnov is in a league by themselves. Can’t compare it to better known everyday- brands. This thing is usually setup by professionals and not the end user to get optimal performance of the their products. SpareChange, I see you are playing in the big leagues now.😂
Is worth the price deference to move to and Trinnov from a Nad M-17 v2i. Just bought the M-17 Las year.
Do it.
@@therealshanelee I'm looking at Storm audio MK2 also. You should do a review on it.
@@invisibles362 the Trinnov is the best out there. The Storm isn't that different from an AVR.
@@therealshanelee so I will have to wait for the Trinnov altitude 32 to have HDMI 2.1 so I don't have to send it back for HDMI UPGRADE.
Probably next year.
How is the audio Calibration software is it easy to use? i ask bc I've used Dirac and love it, but i had to learn by myself i dont live in the USA. Is the audio calibration easy enough to use or i need someone with experience to come and set everything up?
The auto is just as easy as Dirac. Plus you don't have to do as many points if you don't want.
@@therealshanelee that is so cool can't wait for your final review. Im going to get the Acurus Muse for now will save up to see if i can get the Trinnov 16 .Congrats on that amazing processor.
Thanks for the reply
Have you ever Tried the data dat rs 20i, and how does it compare to the trinnov
It's been discontinued a while ago.
I'm rich (and stupid) but $25,000 here is Australia (for just the 16) is totally insane. It's an i5 computer worth $500 at most (with a custom DAC that's not cheap I'm sure) but how the heck are they getting to 25k?! Free upgrades to new 3D audio formats is nice, but geeze. I could upgrade to the next 4 flagship pre-amps for that price. And no HDMI 2.1? I'm almost guaranteeing that's not a software update and you'll be digging deeper for new hardware there. Man, $25k!?
Why keep upgrading when you can spend once and get better sound than those flagships for years to come.
Don't sound too rich lol jk😂
@@therealshanelee Like I said though, it's not HDMI 2.1 so this isn't future-proof unless you know something more about that? If the Trinnov is HDMI 2.1 friendly in some way then it could be worth it. I know my JVC Z1 (RS4800) doesn't support HDMI 2.1 and I'm doubtful JVC will have an upgrade path for it. It's a good example of how a a piece of tech equipment might need a hardware revision to stay relevant.
It has an upgradeable HDMI board when and if HDMI 2.1 becomes a necessity.
CosmicF you will get more for your money if you get High end speakers all around and professionally done acoustic treatments.
You have to understand...if Marantz could charge this much they would give free upgrades as well
There is no free lunch
Marantz can charge whatever they want. It's not like they don't have products that cost 5 figures. Cause they do. They just have nothing that compares to this at this particular time. They may never. You get what you pay for.
@@therealshanelee What processor does Marantz have that is five figures?
Hi! What do you think of the Acurus ACT 4?
Can't say I haven't heard it. Looks interesting though.
My local has the trinnov set up, powered with mcintosh amps and the krix mx-40 ( if you havnt seen the krix, check them out) and fuck me. Its amazing dude. There's nothing like it. But the trinnov is $24000 here is Aus... And the mcintosh or something simular. Haha not anytime soon for me
Up late and first!
Millienials say Covid. Us Generation Xers say Coronavirus!
Elias yours is bigger ...LOL.
You should review the Pioneer SC-LX904
I'd rather list to just you than the annoying echo :-)
Let see how emotiva does after dirac live
Com on my preamp by Linn will destroy this . All in house , Linn organic dac , sorry but yours is not in the same league
Lol. Silly.
@@therealshanelee come on mate , trinov is shit , don’t lie to all these people
Seiko can be your starter watch and your grail... Also your projector. Lol
Blocks! Sounds the best in your opinion, sound is subjective and I've heard these and nothing special, and these are all about bragging rights and bragging rights only. Or, and the marketing.
No hate here, if you want to spend (waste) that kind of money more power to you, but this is not worth £16k.
Which Denon do you own?
@@therealshanelee 😂😂 I have never owned a Denon in my life. I don't do brand loyalty, I buy what I like or which ever company that's doing the business ATM.
Oh, and if you must know I have a Yamaha and an Anthem. Again, it's all bragging rights and that's ok if ppl are into dick measuring contests. You get to a certain price point and it's all about differences.
@@wezzman1 clearly you haven't heard a Trinnov in your place. But keep making assumptions.
