It's one of my hobbies (I also have a 2001 Hayabusa motorcycle, and I fly radio control gliders). There are private streets with a 15 mph speed limit, so I can just go outside of my home for short rides, without having to transport my V8F to a nearby bike trail that I also ride at. It's been close to 7 months since I got the V8F, and I have 425 miles on it now.
Inmotion V8F with cover on to protect it. There are lights under the cover (I took the cover off on the next day). This wasn't much different than a few days before, but my wife happened to be there to take a video that day. When I first started, I used arm flailing (flail left to steer right and vice versa) to steer into fall and to guide the EUC at 3 to 5 mph. I then moved to a long straight and found the V8F to be stable at 6 to 8 mph, where I didn't have to focus on balance. This is a video of a 3 year old kid using the arm flailing method, which is somewhat instinctive for some (on my first try, I was able to do laps around a tennis court). ruclips.net/video/z9YiHu5HJ6o/видео.html. I chose the V8F because it only weighs 35 lbs, and it has a nice trolley handle.
I'm guessing you got this link from a forum. I'm an old guy (almost 70 years old), that started skateboarding back in 1965 on a skateboard with metal wheels. Later in 1965, I bought a Hobie Super Surfer skateboard with clay wheels. In 1967, I bought a Hobie waffle pattern fiberglass skateboard, still with clay wheels. In 1975, I bought another Hobie waffle pattern fiberglass skateboard, this time with urethane wheels, which I still have and is still rideable. Back in the 1970's, I could do basic tricks like tic tacs, endovers (called switch ends in those days), 360's (2 or 3 rotations), handstands (using a running start), ... . Earlier this year (2021), I bought a 2021 Arbor Pocket Rocket Foundation 27" cruiser, and some protective gear. I had no issues doing tic tacs again, even after over 40 years since I last rode a skateboard. I didn't try much else with the skateboard, and the point of tic tacs is that is how I propel a skateboard (I rarely push). I bought the Bell Super 3R MIPS helmet you see in the video, a dual mount, and Shred lights head and tail lights to attach to the helmet (not used in this video) while waiting for the V8F to arrive. Since the V8F arrived, I rarely ride the skateboard anymore.
Cool and fun to ride isn't it? are you addicted to riding it like I am?
