Thank you for your help in buying my scooter! Other benefits to the DLR scooter are that the battery lasts the entire time one is in the parks, and if there are any problems someone will help you right away.

Actually I’d say you have a better chance of being sure that your scooter will last all day if it’s either a scooter you own our rent from an outside company that you’re able to charge yourself in your hotel room. It’s not a guarantee that a Disneyland scooter has had time to charge completely with the amount of turnaround they have. They do come get scooters that have died though. I know that my scooter will last all day if fully charged, and I can always take my charging cable with me. Disneyland will charge your personal scooter at the scooter rental location

No official place’s except I have heard you could possibly ask at the ECV rental stand outside the park if they will charge it. Bring your charging cable. There are outlets around both parks but they are not technically for guest use like the ones they have at Magic Kingdom. You can google where to find them

I live out of state and only use an ECV when I visit Disneyland. Ive used several of the rental companies you’ve shown and D and R Mobility is my first choice. I’ve also considered purchasing one, but transporting it is a concern for me. Thanks for the info!

We rented a 3rd party ECV for my mom last year at Disney Orlando and it was fantastic. Cheap, they delivered it right to the hotel, and picked it up when we were done. The problem for us was waiting for an accessible bus. They were using charter motor coaches for some reason and we waited 30-45 minutes for an accessible bus every morning at the hotel. :-(

Can the ECV rental from a third party be delivered to the front of Disney land ? I won't be staying in a hotel so the option of having it delivered to a hotel room wouldn't be beneficial to me

They are horrible mobility vehicles. They are bulky, not just large, and are very slow to accelerate. They are not comfortable, and have no reasonable options for storage or shade. The slow acceleration makes them especially difficult when a person crosses in font of you and you have to stop to avoid them. Then the startup delay causes more people to go around you. I have literally been stranded in the center of a crowd as I could not have enough time to match the sleep of people around me. Luckily a man, not a cast member, held people back long enough for me to get going. And you still have to get from the parking structure to the entrance to Disneyland to get one. There is a handicap shuttle, that runs somewhat infrequently, that takes you to the middle of the tram exit area, but you still have to make it to the park entrance. And then there are the problems with handicap parking. 1) When they built Pixar Pals parking structure addition they took away flat parking lot handicap parking and put in ZERO handicap spots in the structure, none at all where you would otherwise expect them by the elevators. 2) There is little signage and very poor indicators for finding available handicap spots. 3) People without handicap placards or license plates often park in handicap spots with no consequences. Security staff will do nothing about it. And 4) Disneyland has designated some regular spots for handicapped only, rather than add actual handicap spots. They just put out a sawhorse style sign that says handicap only beyond this sign. But, people don’t care, they park there anyway for 2 reasons; they aren’t officially marked, and therefore there cannot be any legal consequences. Also, these spaces do not meet state laws and ADA requirements for handicap access. They are not wide enough, and a van ramp cannot be deployed in them. Disney has done nothing to address these failures. If you absolutely need a handicap spot, you need your get there first thing in the morning, or stay at a hotel nearby with your own mobility device.

We agree with all of this. The lack of disabled accessible parking spots in the Pixar structure is unacceptable. I don’t know how they get away with calling regular parking spots disabled accessible

Hi Andrew the ecv's that Disneyland provides are not theirs, they work with another company called scooter bug, I think they are responsible for their electric vehicles. If theres any issues disney cast members at the stroller shop can always exchange your ecv for another one, also one thing that I have noticed is that people abuse this electric vehicles, and of course they are not in the best shape and they are slow for security reasons. But if there's also a mobility rental across the street at the Best Western Hotel park inn, personally I really like their scooters check them out on yelp @ Select mobility scooter rental.
