  • This is the build instructions (no voiceover) of our Medina Almost-Ready-to-Fly (ARF) 2-meter RC glider. We are assembling the F3-RES/F3L version of the Medina, launched with a bungee. The F5-RES/F5L version of the Medina is launched with an electric motor. The build log for the E-Medina can be found here: • E-Medina ARF 2 Meter E... .
    The Medina is a balsa built-up glider with a carbon boom, carbon spar and other reinforcements and is covered with a light plastic film. This is a RES glider, which means it has Rudder, Elevator, and Spoiler channels for control. The V-tails are controlled by a pull-string system with a spring in the control surface.
    As the Medina ARF comes mostly assembled, it usually takes 1-2 hours to put together at home.

    We used to build a sliding servo tray with one fixed and one sliding servoes we didn't need mixers. Had differential up elevator in turns too. V-tails rock

    The servo travel is a bit short on x06 with the first horn. It barely covers the recommended travel and does not allow any extra room for experimentations. I guess it would be better with x08 on the second horn (7mm). The plane needs a little less than 50 grams of nose weight, which is an extra $20, when available. The servo frame also needs to be bought separately. You can carve/print apparently.

    I see at 4:30 that the pod has a launch hook. That's not listed in the "What's Included" list so I want to make sure that a launch hook is, in fact, included.

      Hi, the hook is included and already installed as part of the fuselage :)

    Good Day. Two quick questions. Is there a build vid for the E-Medina and is there a concern about the spoiler servo not having the horn secured with a screw?

    • @ArmSoar
      @ArmSoar  Год назад

      Hi, the E Medina video will be out in a couple of days. No concern for the horn, but you can always add one to be safe.

    Preparing to purchase the Medina kit. Quick question. Should the area where the tail torsion spring is inserted be reinforced to keep the wire from poking through over time.

      @ArmSoar  Год назад

      Hi Larry, not really needed, but a drop of super thin CA is a good safety measure.

    Great video. But how do the v tail wings stay in place? I’d like to be able to take them off under transport. Are yours glued in place?
