hello there, and many greetings from France! my fiancée and me absolutely adore your guinea pig herd (she especially loves Pebbles while I have an enormous crush on Wilma
Wilma was such a beautiful piggie! Oh how I miss her face! I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her, and was so devastated and sad when she passed away! Minnie is a great piggie and I am glad you adopted her!
So i just got a piggy few months ago i got him a HUGE cage with an open section where he can run free and isn’t cramped up im always gentle with him and he likes to chill on the couch with me i found he will climb up on to my lap and lay on my chest and let out an adorable yawn 🥺 i think he likes me
Thank you for amazing videos. I have for the first time in my life rescued 2 guinea pigs from a person with severe mental illness, she did not take good care of them, and her mother gave them to a animal shelter. I found this channel and have learned so much(and from books). In the 3 months i have owned them, they have gained weight and are not so scared anymore. Have build a huge cage for them with lots of toys and things to explore, they had a dirty small cage full of urine and poo before that.... so thanks again for great videos and info:-)i love my girls, they are just around one year and have many happy years left:-)
My girl Eva, always loved cuddling with my other, Maysi. Maysi actually passed away a couple of weeks ago, she was seven. Maysi was around three years older than Eva, so Eva was big on cuddles and Maysi didn't appreciate them as much from her, haha
My guinea pig doesn't usually like to be petted but he sometimes let's me, he also doesn't like to be picked up, but I've only had him for like 2 months so i don't know how long it will take for him to fully trust me. I used this channel to help me when i first got my guinea pig, thank you a lot for this channel ☺
I've found that favorite spots to be petted are often the top of the head, under the chin and the sides of the neck, right behind where you can feel the skull. Gently massaging the neck has sometimes resulted in some contented purring. Still, every piggie likes different things, and it takes time to earn enough trust where they're OK with being handled.
@@bumble_bee85 if it purrs when u pet them there it means they’re angry, other Guinea pigs jump on the other ones back to flex dominance so you petting them there is practically flexing ur dominance
I had to subscribe cause I just got my baby GP and these videos have been so heloful. Less than a week and I've already got her Popcorning around! Thank you so much and your Guineas are adorable!
Idk why but my guinea pig enjoys because wrapped in something warm and cozy! It’s so cute! One time we were cutting her nails and we had a towel because she poops lol. Then when we were done we just let her chill on the couch but then she went under the towel and literally stayed there. So I picked up the towel with her in it and gently put it on my lap and I just petted her little fuzzy brown head :3
she went under the towel because it was the only possibility for her to hide. I assume you didn't have tons of hideys on the couch. That's why guinea pigs shouldn't just be taken out of the cage or left outside after cutting their nails.
My son got a guinea for his 6th birthday a wk ago. I fell in love & my husband got me one this past mothers day 😍 I'm learning so much bc of your channel. Thank you!
Thanks for this video! Yesterday I got my guinea pigs Reese and S'more. S'more doesn't like to be pet (not yet at least) but she likes being held as long as I pick her up while she's in their cozy sack and let her crawl out onto my hand. Reese likes her head scratched. They are such sweet little babies. They're 4 or 5 months old and they're still quite small. I fed them their first ever vegetable today. I can't believe how sweet they are.
My boys sometimes turn their butts to my face like it's not even a thing to them. Which is kinda cool. They trust me. But it's not like I go there or anything. The majority of what I hear or read about is ppl stating guinea pigs not allowing them anywhere near their butts. 😅 my little fluff balls are strange
I've been watching little adventures for so long and then my dad surprised me with three baby Guinea pigs and thanks to little adventures they have lived very lovely lives. Like this comment if you love little adventures!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for this video. I wish more people knew this; I see a lot of videos where people hold them up in the air or over handling them and I can only imagine the discomfort they go through ;-;
I got my Guinea pigs, peanut and comet, about 2 months ago and Peanut loves me petting him but Comet is definitely a lot more shy and will happily take food from my hands but thats all he’s comfortable with so far :)
Eh, they're small, vegetarian, recycle their poop, breed like crazy and have continually growing teeth. Maybe it's convergent evolution but they do sure seem similar. In fact my brother's set seemed so large and unusually shaped that I even wondered if they might be GP-rabbit crossbreeds :D
One of our boars, Meeko would bite me when he had to pee (usually because I'd been holding him too long). He learned I didn't like being bit on my skin, so would bite through my sleeve. So I sometimes rolled up my sleeves when holding him--but if he really meant it, Meeko would pull the sleeve with his teeth, and THEN bite me. Talk about training the pet and the owner.
I haven't had mine that long & even tho I've broken alotta basic rules, he's still like the most unfazed by me petting him. Anywhere. He responds to me calling for him & even popcorns to me calling for him, sometimes. Even popcorns after giving me "kisses." Halts to put his little feet on mine, when he's spazzes, running his laps, in his free roam time too. I feel like I'm doing something right 🤭🤗.
Some of this has been surprising because my guinea pigs absolutely love getting scratched on their backbone and on what I call their neck bone. They have a hard time scratching there, so they love it when they get their areas they can't scratched.
This all sounds a lot like how to make friends with any animal, including small humans, really :) Also, heehee, the orange and white one with a moptop / bowl-cut hairdo, I've not seen that style before :D
My guinea pigs have a large cage and it is often quite hard to get close. I got them almost around three quarters through the year (2019), so I think it has been almost a year. I have two girls, one is quite comfortable and the other is a tiny bit timid. They don’t exactly have floor time because they live outdoors in a puppy enclosure with chicken wire to secure they can’t get out. So they have heaps of places to run, so after having them for a while they are comfortable when I come quite close. But they run a bit when I touch them.
Thanks a lot, i've had mine for 8 months (he was 2 months old), each time i come home from school he comes running towards me, and now i can pet im in the right way (also teach my little brother :p)
You don't wanna know how it is to let them escape and hide behind a massive furniture. I'll give you a tip: patience and carrots. This should make a guineea pig get out of any hiding spot. Happened to me on the 1st days when he didn't accommodate yet during floor time

My rescue piggy didn't like being stroked under the chin at first because he would put his paw on my finger and push it down but after a while he started to like it and lifts his head for me when I do it, also he leans into me when I stroke his cheeks 😍
I just got a guinea pig last night.I have to refresh my memory because last times I wanted guinea pigs I got a puppy and I got two hamsters the other month and last night we got Domino my new male guinea pig!
My two guinea pigs are quite different in the ways they like to be petted, the only thing they both like is to get scratched behind their ears! Alice hates belly rubs but loves a good chin scratching, while Gertrude hates chin scratching but is a sucker for belly rubs ❤️
when i had piggies i would lay on floor while they had floor time and wait for them to get curious about me. they would eventually start climbing all over me. it was cute.
My guinea pig bites my clothes and my finger while she's popcorning, but i feel it's her way to tell me she likes me, she seems extremelly happy, on the other hand my other guinea pig is shy, and doesn't seem to like petting, i don't know what sound she makes but it's not the same as the first
My two guinea pigs used to get annoyed when one was getting pet but not the other. Then they'd give me look as if to say, "Human, you have two hands, use both of them!"
I love your piggies! Do you have any timid ones? Mine is all out and is VERY vocal... I have used your techniques in one of your videos about training your piggies, and now I have trained her so that if I am lying down on my bed with her, I will set her down and tell her "go home" and she will go in her cage and even though the door is open all night, she never comes out! Now I'm trying to train her to come out when I tell her to, but for as monile and vocal, she is stubborn. Also, LOVE your piggies and accent. Bye!
I have 2 female Guinea pigs.i have one like your pebbles.her name is angel she has the personality of pebbles.i also have another female Guinea pig her name is pebbles like your pebbles but my pebbles has hair like Silly silly.my pebbles hair is mostly white but she has brown on her face.you gave me lots of great tips.also I think you have the cutest little fluff balls of happiness called Guinea pigs I wish I was you.

Bribing is a HUGEE!! no-no, Cause they're not comfortable with the new human's petting them! ♥ Reason 1: They have not settled in with the new family! I let my guinea pigs roam around my house all the time, I’ve owned them for a month and a half so far. But I am still unable to pet them. I can call the older one over and he sniffs my hands, sometimes giving a nibble, nothing ever that hurts. But the little one always runs away from me. How can I teach them to be petting tamed? I don't know how to get the Guinea pigs to trust me to pet them. Every time I try the jump and run every where like they've just seen death itself, OH but the second I offer an apple slice they're suddenly my best friends. 🤣🤣🤣
I love the piggies, don't get me wrong. But if you want an animal you can pet: get a dog. Preferably a Golden or Labrador Retriever. For them it is always time to be pet and play. Btw: Really nice accommodation you've built!
I have a short hair guinea pig who loves being pet on her head but the funny thing is if I pet her along her hair she tries to nibble but if I go against like tworods her nose she loves it it’s funny lol
Thank you!!! I have just got three guinea pigs last week, Snickers, Smudge and Sizzles. Snickers looks just like Frieda, and the other two are adorable but, one question, I kind of feel as though smudge is scared so I need some help. The rest are letting me stroke them and hand feed them thanks to you!!🐹 💕
I have a few questions: that grey and white Guinea pig that you have what kind of breed is that Guinea pig?.also what is that guinea pigs name? I’m asking all this bc I’m new to your channel lol. Edit: I put this comment before for seeing that Guinea I am talking about passed very sorry for your lost. But what breed was that Guinea pig tho? I am asking because it looks just like my Guinea pig lol
I have fleece and there is baking soda under so it doesn't smell much but my piggies always go under the fleece and I have to pick them up to get them out because I'm pretty sure it's bad for them to inhale it.
In the wild wheeking loudly means they are signaling there is danger, so it could mean they are scared. They dont tent to “enjoy” being petted or handled, more so just trusts you or tolerates it. Thry could enjoy it to some degree but their instincts are screaming at them that this dangerous and that thing may eat you.

Hello little adventures I love your channel I have 2 guinea pigs of my own (one of them is my brothers) but my guinea pig looks just like Freda could you do a video of how you clean the cage thanks also I subbed
thanks for these awesome tips! So, what would be the best way to pet an Abyssian then? My little Floof is Abyssian, and I'm not sure if it's best to give him short strokes along his tufts or a full body length pet. Also during floor time he scampers up right along me as if he wants to be petted, but runs off as soon as I gently move my hand? If he doesn't vocalize or squirm while I cradle him, how can I tell if he's comfortable or not?

Could you make a video that lists almost all foods guinea pigs can eat?
I really like Sylvester..(hope that's his name) the lil grey and white one cause he's sooooo cute I want another with cow licks all over it xD
I have fleece and there is baking soda under so it doesn't smell much but my piggies always go under the fleece and I have to pick them up to get them out because I'm pretty sure it's bad for them to inhale it.
Just adopted two young babies, when petting them they wheeks! Is that a sign of joy or fear?
In the wild wheeking loudly means they are signaling there is danger, so it could mean they are scared. They dont tent to “enjoy” being petted or handled, more so just trusts you or tolerates it. Thry could enjoy it to some degree but their instincts are screaming at them that this dangerous and that thing may eat you.

Pet guinea pugs do wheek as a sign of them asking you for food but if they are doing it while you hold or pet them its probably more them calling for help.
Where did you get that hammock thing that Guinea pigs rest at? 00:55

I love yours guinea pig s
thanks for these awesome tips!
