True. I listen to this endless times, when I feel down. You simply dont get music like it these days. And this song came on 3 years before I was born. Not many people in my age appreciate the oldies goldies..
My dad's favourite song💜 I lost my dad 6 years ago when I was 20 and had just had my daughter, she was 11 weeks old. His first grandchild. We lost him out the blue to a heart attack and this was his favourite song. Currently playing this song and his now 6 yo granddaughter, 3 yo and 1 yo grandsons are dancing along xxx
same. my dad just got to see my firstborn before he died. he was in agony back then n my daughter giggling at the dog was the only thing that could put a smile on his face. she cant even remember him now
Me, lol Oh the rock of the combo string/drama years. Dire Straights sure promoted the hell out of Ovation Guitars didn't they? Not bad for Bruce Spring in his step either, coming from background singer chorus behind Roy Orberson. The promotion of MTV into the Sat Night Live. I still get a kick listening to this day.
Meu pai amava essa música, amava Dire Straits e sempre que ouço, me lembro dele. Ele partiu faz 2 meses dessa vida, mas se ele estiver em algum lugar, certeza que ele estaria ouvindo essa música! Te amo Pai🖤
Not many songs legit puts an emotional mark on me. But this one sure does. My dad loved this song he sadly passed away in August of last year only 11 days after my mum. He sure did the walk of life now its my turn to venture out there. I will stumble and fall but I will get up again. I will keep strong and be the best man I can be as I hope to unite with my dearest that is in Ukraine
I grew up with this song in my household. My parents played it as often as I can remember we ever had a good time. Despite hardships and trials, we all made it through fairly well I'd say. This song and all the distant memories have and will always stick with me. Can't believe I had forgotten about this song until I stumbled upon it again yesterday. Damn, this is a true masterpiece and so much more this song. Do the walk of life.
0:00 "You lost" "No. I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be" Hearing this made me so sad as this show made up the cliff end of last year and most of this year. Love you Sheldon never change man❤ Edit: today I finished the big bang theory. I saw a few episodes when I was four and I still remember watching penny and lenerd saying their vows from all those years ago. I'm starting young Sheldon now with the big bang theory in mind to see how Sheldon's life was before Pasadena.
A great song that reminds all of us of our fathers - my dad LOVED the video because of the sports fails and the old people dancing. Ah the memories of growing up in the 80's. Miss you dad.

Lol that's exactly what brought me back to this great song. The 80's was such a great time to be a child. Born in 78' I was a child in the 80's, and a teenager in the 90s.
Everytime we went on vacation, my dad played played Dire Straits music in the car. I was quite young back then, but all these years later I still remember it when I hear it. And to be honest, I cried the first time I heard Brothers in arms again after all those years…

Dire Straits - Walk Of Life Lyrics Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies Be-Bop-A-Lula, Baby What I Say Here comes Johnny singing I Gotta Woman Down in the tunnels trying to make it pay He got the action, he got the motion Yeah the boy can play Dedication devotion Turning all the night time into the day He do the song about the sweet loving woman He do the song about the knife He do the walk, he do the walk of life Here comes Johnny and he'll tell you the story Hand me down my walking shoes Here comes Johnny with the power and glory Backbeat the talkin' blues He got the action, he got the motion Yeah the boy can play Dedication devotion Turning all the night time into the day He do the song about the sweet loving woman He do the song about the knife He do the walk, he do the walk of life Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies Be-Bop-A-Lula Baby What I Say Here comes Johnny singing I Gotta Woman Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay He got the action, he got the motion Yeah the boy can play Dedication devotion Turning the night time into day And after all the violence and double talk There's just a song in all the trouble and the strife You do the walk, you do the walk of life

This song holds a lot of special meaning and memories to me in my heart. When me and my sisters were younger, my Dad would play a lot of music on his stereo in our living room. Sometimes we would be in our room doing something else and my Dad would start blasting this song out there, and as soon as the first note played we were out in the living room, full-stop. We used to call this the "Carousel Song", because it sounds so much like a song you'd hear on a merrry-go-round. Being from Jersey, we would go down to Seaside Heights as a family and we'd ride the carousel as soon as we got there. Anyway, me and my sisters would grab random accessories like hats or sunglasses and run to the living room, put them on, and start forming a circle as if we were on a carousel. When the song started really hitting the rock-and-roll, we'd just totally let loose and pretend we were rockstars dancing and playing some air guitar. My Dad was also a really good voice impressionist, and he'd sing along with this song in his best Mark Knopfler voice. We had such fun times like that growing up. I'm 32 now, and this has still been as relevant to me as it has since the day I first heard it. Last year, we included this song in a birthday picture montage video we created for my Dad's 61st birthday. When we watched it together, my Dad's smile instantly lit up the room and fun memories came rushing back in all our minds as we smiled right along with him. This past July, my Dad sadly passed away at 62, from a bravely hard-fought battle with kidney failure. He passed away eight years and a day after my Mom passed away from pancreatic cancer. It's been a really difficult year for me and my family, but my Dad always told me he'd want me and my sisters to keep going no matter what, and that if anything were to happen to him, to "know I'm out there looking for your Mom," since he dearly missed her these past eight years as much as we did. Listening to this gem among other awesome songs my Dad loved that we grew up on has helped me to get through the past few months, and I have no doubt they'll continue to in the years ahead. Just had an air guitar jam session by myself blasting this in my earbuds, and I smiled and sang all the way through. My Dad showed me what doing the walk of life is all about, and as I continue on my own journey, I'll never stop to think about my Dad's own walk of life that got me where and who made me who I am today. Dad, this one's for you! ❤🎸🎶

Always. Been a classic in Australia for years 🍻
Me, lol Oh the rock of the combo string/drama years.
Dire Straights sure promoted the hell out of Ovation Guitars didn't they?
Not bad for Bruce Spring in his step either, coming from background singer chorus behind Roy Orberson.
The promotion of MTV into the Sat Night Live.

Dire Straits - Walk Of Life Lyrics
Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies
Be-Bop-A-Lula, Baby What I Say
Here comes Johnny singing I Gotta Woman
Down in the tunnels trying to make it pay
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah the boy can play
Dedication devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
He do the song about the sweet loving woman
He do the song about the knife
He do the walk, he do the walk of life
Here comes Johnny and he'll tell you the story
Hand me down my walking shoes
Here comes Johnny with the power and glory
Backbeat the talkin' blues
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah the boy can play
Dedication devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
He do the song about the sweet loving woman
He do the song about the knife
He do the walk, he do the walk of life
Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies
Be-Bop-A-Lula Baby What I Say
Here comes Johnny singing I Gotta Woman
Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay
He got the action, he got the motion
Yeah the boy can play
Dedication devotion
Turning the night time into day
And after all the violence and double talk
There's just a song in all the trouble and the strife

Same bro. My dad has this on stereo full sound on!
An old friend introduced me to Dire Straits. He loved this song. Sadly, he passed from cancer last year. RIP dear Rob; you did the walk of life.
