After this verse, the Quran states that the Jews argued with Moses almost immediately once they were given the land so then they were scattered. You have to read all the verses as a whole and not cherry pick one to fit a narrative.

Is Jerusalem a Sacred Islamic City
Jerusalem is home to around 400,000 Muslims, but is it a sacred city according to Islam?
This is a question the majority of Muslims within the political and academic world try to avoid, simply because it opens a rather uncomfortable discussion. In fact, a Muslim asking such a question could face serious consequences; such as society doubting in his/her faith.
Until 2014, I was an Islamist who abhorred Jewish people and was open to waging war against them. Today, however, I am friends with many Jewish faith leaders. This transition wasn’t political, it was rather theological. In brief, I started to question certain claims taught to me by my teachers and Muslim community. I began by asking myself the question, does Jerusalem really belong to Islam and Muslims?
To answer this vitally important question, we need to inquire how cities become sacred according to Islam.
    Sacred cities in Islam

Throughout human history, every religion has been associated with an area that has been sanctified, respected and revered. Islam is no different. There are tens of sacred cities in Islam, such as Mecca, Medina, Qum, Karbala and Najaf - due to clear verses of the Koran acknowledging their glory or sayings of Prophet Mohammad assuring Muslims of their exaltation.
There is a big difference between a city being sacred in the eyes of God and it being a sacred Islamic city. For example, all prophetic tombs, birthplaces and areas where miracles took place are considered sacred in Islam, but they are not specifically Islamic locations. A sacred Islamic location is a location wherein a significant Islamic event has taken place by either Allah or Prophet Mohammad.

Jerusalem in Islamic scripture

The Holy Koran states very clearly that the Holy Land, Jerusalem, belongs to the Jewish nation of Moses, the Israelites:
“And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, “O my people, remember the favor of Allah [God] upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the world” (Koran: 5:20 onwards).
The above verse also makes it clear that God “had not given (this land to) anyone among the world” other than the Jewish nation. From this verse, and others of similar context, we understand that Jerusalem is a sacred city according to God, but it is not a sacred Islamic city, due to the fact that its sacredness was established before the existence of Islam.
After the emergence of Islam, in the year 621 CE, it is believed that Prophet Mohammad took a miraculous and spiritual night journey to Al-Aqsa Mosque (the Farthest Mosque). This event is reported in the Koran in the following verse:
“Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from the Sacred Mosque (Mecca) to al-Masjid al- Aqsa (the Farthest Mosque), whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs…” (Quran 17:1).
Two vital matters need to be addressed regarding the above verse:
    1. Prophet Mohammad traveling to a location does not make that location “Islamic.”
    2. There is little evidence that “Al-Aqsa Mosque” is actually in Jerusalem, and there are a large number of Muslims who believe that “the Farthest Mosque” is a reference to a mosque in the heavens, not on earth; due to the fact that the current Al-Aqsa Mosque did not exist during the lifetime of Prophet Mohammad, making it impossible for him to have visited it.
Messengers of both Judaism and Christianity had arrived in Jerusalem to preach their scriptures centuries before Prophet Mohammad. Therefore, it cannot be historically accurate to say that Mohammad brought Islam to Jerusalem before them.
Up until the migration of Mohammad to Medina in 622 CE and the official establishment of Islam therein, Islam was a minority religion when compared to the two well-established religions of Judaism and Christianity. Besides, the citizens of Jerusalem who converted to Islam merely changed their own faith, not the entire history of Jerusalem.
Thus, neither Islamic scripture nor history claim that Jerusalem is a sacred Islamic city.

Jerusalem meets Islam

In May 632 CE, Prophet Mohammad appointed Usama ibn Zaid as the commander of his army to respond to the Romans in an agreed-upon battle within Palestine.
The next day Usama set out for his expedition, but he then learnt that Mohammad had died and therefore he returned to Medina. Caliph Abu Bakr then ordered Usama to increase his army to 3,000 men and to attack the inhabitants of the Kingdom of Moab and Byzantine-held Darum, to kill or capture as many as he could and Usama did so.
This event proves that up until the demise of Prophet Mohammad, there were no Muslims in what is today known as Palestine, and that it was inhabited by the Romans of the Byzantine.
Also, Prophet Mohammad would not wage war against a city full of Muslims. In reality, Islam as a religion officially came to Palestine in the year 636 CE, four years after Mohammad’s death and during the reign of the second caliph of Islam, Omar.
The Islamic caliphate conducted an attack on Jerusalem, which was ruled by the Byzantine Romans. The city was placed under a four-month siege commencing in November of that year. After four months of hardship and butchery, the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, Sophronius, surrendered Jerusalem to Caliph Omar in 637 CE. When Caliph Omar realized that Islam was still a minority religion in the region, he adopted the jizyah system, forcing Christians and Jewish people to pay tax to the Islamic caliphate.
After conducting a massacre of the citizens of Jerusalem, our Caliph Omar came to Jerusalem to appoint his governors. He then built what is known today as “the Aqsa Mosque,” which many Muslims mistakenly think was built by Prophet Mohammad.
The mosque in Jerusalem with its golden dome is known to Muslims as “Qubbat al-Sakhrah” (Dome of the Rock), and it was completed in 691 CE by the Umayyad Dynasty, the following Islamic caliphate. It is arguably not permissible for Muslims to pray within Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Qubbat al-Sakhrah, as they are built upon occupied and invaded land.
By the ninth century, the Fatimid Dynasty, a Shia Islamic caliphate, ruled a large area of north Africa. They were also terrorists who invaded Palestine and massacred Christians in Jerusalem for siding with the Romans of the Byzantine, who had attempted to regain their conquered land. The notorious caliph of the Fatimid Caliphate, Al-Hakim, caused much damage to the entire region, even killing John VII, the Patriarch of Jerusalem, a provocative act that laid the groundwork for the First Crusade. Due to the defeat of the Crusaders, Muslims became the majority, by the sword and not by the pen.
By this time, the entire Mediterranean coast of Palestine had been captured, followed by a series of massacres of the Christian people and a genocide that spread all the way to Damascus and Beirut. Islam became the established religion of Palestine by the ninth century, and became the majority religion of the region throughout the Mamluk Era, between 1250 and 1516.
Therefore, we Muslims did not enter Palestine as preachers and convert its nation into Muslims. We murdered their leaders and conducted serial massacres led by both Sunni and Shia terrorist Islamic caliphs. The citizens of Palestine may convert to Islam, but in no way can Palestine be considered Muslim land. Of course, many may dispute this position, but the fact is that the Jews were in this land long before even Christianity arose. Their ancient cultural links remain unbroken, as in the saying each Passover, “Next year in Jerusalem.”
Our Arab-Muslim ancestors came out of their deserts as conquerors and not as learners, and as guiders who do not seek the guidance of others. They believed that they had sufficient knowledge and wisdom, and that they did not need to learn anything from others. This delusion of my co-religionists persists to this day, despite the fact that the world has changed.
    Disturbing events in Islamic history

On the other hand, I do not understand the Muslim struggle for Jerusalem. Islamic laws strictly prohibit relieving oneself while facing Mecca, in fact, toilets in all Islamic countries and most Muslim homes do not face Mecca, out of respect to the holy city. Yet Bukhari reports that our Prophet Mohammad used to deliberately and repeatedly relieve himself while facing Jerusalem, even though he could have faced another direction instead.
Does it make sense that Palestinians are dying for Jerusalem when their own beloved Prophet used to prefer defecating toward it?
Whether Palestine is Jewish land or whether Israel is a state are two completely different debates. A Muslim may reject Israel being a state, but cannot deny the fact that the entire region, including Palestine, is in fact Jewish land.
    Imam Tawhidi

I learn something interesting from you, you said the muslim people cannot be permited to pray in Al -aqsa mosque and the othe one you say because there are built on an ocuppied and invaded land. Another one you say : We muslims did not come as preachers in Palestine but as murderers. If muslim people will read your comment they will get very ofended. And when the time for the first promise came, We sent our servants against you, who even probed into your homes and causes destruction at you.
Then we gave return victory to you over them and reinforce you with Sons and Wealth and increase your manpower.
And when the time for 2nd promise came, we sent your enemies against you, who saddened your faces and destroyed the temple of Jerusalem and over which they got control, like first one.

      @Ubok Wilie
The Bani Israel were allowed to enter the land, but the context is not the present. but long ago, when they were saved from Pharaoh.
But the children of Israel even opposed the prophet Moses by worshiping a cow statue which made by Samiri.
and when they were ordered to fight by the Prophet Musa, they were reluctant. And disrespectfully, instead of ordered the prophet Moses to war alone.
The children of Israel always asked for a prophet to be sent down from their clan, but when God granted them, the prophets were killed by them, because those prophets were not in accordance with their lust.
So God sent them the last prophet from Arab to destroy they pride as a chosen.
That's because of their fault by killing many prophets before.

Those folks do not know what they are talking about? I am a Jew and my family had a long history in that area, in Egypt, in Israel, in Syria and the land of Israel which is the land of the Jews. What those people are talking about is since the Arabs had conquered that land therefore it is theirs, so by their logic if Israel re-conquers it then it is the Jews' which is what is happening. That land belonged to the Israelites (Jews) conquered by the Arabs, then conquered by the Turks (Ottomans) then conquered by the British, then divided among several states, and Israel was again the beneficiary of its own biblical land. One can say the Arabs stole it from the Israelites (Jews) and the Jews became refugees all over the world and now the Jews(Israelites) regained.

How is it that a region of people with different cultures and beliefs could share a land and live peacefully among one another for so long until suddenly there was so much hate against one group? Nothing to do with the region being a strategic foothold for the West and by west I mean the US and UK. A way to access the African and Asian continents just like with Haiti, A. Samoa and how the French have many strategic territories also. Nobody cares about these people because the people in power care only about gaining more power and control. That's not how it works. We only use the Quran because Muslims believe in it. So, if the Quran supports the existence of Israel, then Muslims have to support it. We only show you that your own holy book supports the existence of Israel because that is the only way in changing your anti-Israel agenda. We believe what the bible says, and there God CLEARLY has promised over and over again that the land of Israel belongs to the Jews. But Muslims would never accept the bible because they believe it to be corrupt, and that is why we use the Quran to change your views on Israel.
Anyway, from a biblical perspective, God has promised that Jews would one day live and have control of Israel again:
‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, *AND I WILL GIVE YOU BACK THE LAND OF ISRAEL AGAIN* .’ Ezekiel 11:17
We know this because God has spoken it and fulfilled it. But now, we even know that the Quran supports it also, therefore all Muslims should accept and support that the land of Israel solely belongs to the Jews. If Palestinian wants, they can live under Israeli rule, and gain Israeli citizenship, just like over 2 million Israeli Arabs have. If they don't want it, they should just move to Jordan, because Jordan is their state, Jordan is a Palestinian Arab state.

    Hello Corey,
I hope you are well. I’m pretty much finally updated with your videos! I’ve been binge-watching and commenting on your channel for a while. Still a huge fan! However, I once again feel like I have to put it out there and point out my thoughts on this video. I’ve stated similar comments in a video that was like this one.
Having said that, it is absolutely incorrect to take ayahs (verses) from the Quran out of context to try and highlight a certain point. I’m sure you didn’t do it intentionally, rather this is what was probably presented to you. However, those ayahs don’t say what people assume. I haven’t watched the video as of now [again], just the ayahs that were being posted. I really hope this doesn’t go like last time. I would like to be a bit optimistic and believe that some people have learned better over the years. But it’s more likely that the majority of the people you ask, are not going to give you a clear answer as to what these verses even speak about. Rather what they’ve been taught to believe it says, or what they think it says based on their own interpretations and not based on the actual linguistics (morphology, semantic, and syntax) of the text.
To get into the ayahs posted, please view the following.
Surah 17 ayah 104 is quite interesting. It fully states.
After Pharoah (his death), We told the Children of Israel, ‘Live in the land, and when the promise of the Hereafter is fulfilled, We shall bring you as a mixed crowd.’ 17:104
The 14th and last word in this ayah is what makes this specific ayah interesting to me. The word lafifan comes from a trilateral root word lafaf which is something that is strongly wrapped just like how the Jewish community is a ‘closed’ community. But the word lafifan could literally mean a tight community composed of a mixed crowd. This is pretty much a prediction as to how they went from one nation (Children of Israel), to what we see today. Jews from all over the world. A mixed crowd. And I remember from the last video everyone thought the 11th word (Hereafter) was referring to the last days, yet it is clear that it is talking about the Afterlife. Akhira is after-life. Youm Al Akhir is the Last Day. There's a major difference. I'm sure no one is going to point this out in the video :(
Surah 5 ayah 21. When we read these ayahs in context, it is clearly talking about a specific moment in history where Moses was trying to take the children of Israel into the land, yet they refused because they didn’t want to fight and thus it resulted in the exodus part of their history. Here is a rough translation starting from ayah 20
Moses said to his people, ‘My people, remember God’s blessing on you: how He raised prophets among you and appointed kings for you and gave you what he had not given to any other people. My people, go into the holy land which God has ordained for you- do not turn back or you will be the losers.’ They said, ‘Moses, there is a fearsome people in this land. We will not go there until they leave. If they leave, then we will enter.’ Yet two men whom God had blessed among those who were afraid said, ‘Go into them through the gate and when you go in you will overcome them. If you are true believers, put your trust in God.’ They said, ‘Moses, we will never enter while they are still there, so you and your Lord go in and fight, and we will stay here.’ He said, ‘Lord, I have authority over no one except myself and my brother: judge between the two of us and these disobedient people.’ God said, ‘The land is forbidden to them for forty years: they will wander the earth aimlessly. Do not grieve over those who disobey.’ 5:20-26
These ayahs are quite specific, and not even talking about them entering the land. Rather it was the complete opposite.
-- After watching the video --
My first initial thought goes directly to you Corey as a reference. Surahs are what could be called Chapters. While ayahs are what could be called verses. I’m not going to nitpick on each person’s comments like I did last time. But I’ll say this. Once again, as expected, everyone in that video didn’t say anything relevant and fed you complete crap! Dr. Mustafa didn’t refer to the verses once, rather he was unintentionally misled by your question. The only person that was on track was Yussef by telling you and the viewers that these verses need to be read in context. Other than that. MUSLIMS you should be ashamed of yourselves! I’m not the best Muslim, but I’ve taken the time to understand why I am a Muslim. Not just a nominal Muslim sheep. I’m so sad by all of this ignorance.
Please, Corey, ask if anyone has read the full Quran from cover to cover. Both Palestinians (Muslims & Christians) & Israelis (Jews & Non-Jews).
Follow-up questions to those that say yes. What is the overall message of the Qur’an? Why do you believe the Qur’an is from God (Muslims)? Why do you believe it is not from God (Non-Muslims.)
Follow-up questions to those that say no. Why not? Would you ever consider reading it from cover to cover and try to understand what it really says?
Thanks, Corey again for all these videos. They are truly amazing! Keep up the good work!

    • @michaelf9664
      @michaelf9664 3 года назад +5

Omer, you seem to be a very learned and thoughtful fellow! Thank you for giving us so much context. I'd love for there to be a more in-depth, scholarly discussion on the video topic, focusing on more than just the 2 verses. There's clearly a lot of controversy, even amongst scholars. But I think the bottom line, exemplified by the interviewees who was at least honest about his ignorance, is that people's experiences are really what shape people's emotions and opinions. People will ignore or manipulate their own religious texts to fit that if necessary. And yes, I include the Torah, the Quran, the New Testament, and more.
As for your suggested question--neat! Corey, I second that idea.

All imams who preach islamonazism in the land of israel, all imams who refuse to recognize the Torah and that Gd gave children of Avraham, Itzhak and Yaakov the land, ahould be expelled. No islamonazis should be int he jewish land. Muslims first need to learn how to respect others.

You know Islam is a very interesting religion. They are the only set of religious people that corrupt their own books by giving their interpretation that is a stack contrast to the text. A muslim can see 'red' and call it black and give every reason why it is black😂 even though its red and he knows😂😂. The quran specifically said children of Israel, but now it is "children of Islam/muslim" to the muslims😂😂😂😂😂😂. They have forgotten the name "Israel" is a specific name. Only one person bore that name in history. And both the Bible and quran refers specifically to his descendants as "chlidren of Israel". Furthermore, sura 5:20-24 went into some details on their 40 yrs journey through the wilderness. We all know the muslims didnt have a 40 yrs journey through the wilderness😂😂😂. You can use google to search for everywhere "Israel" is mentioned in the quran and see who its referring to...thats if you'll let your brain work😂😂. Like I said, muslims are a "special breed"...they make me laugh at their stupidity😂. ..they'll lie through their teeth even with evidence in their face. Its called "taquiyya".

      John 16:12-15:
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine
As it indicates, Jesus is announcing his successor and is asking people to follow him and accept him as he will inherit everything Jesus has and he will certify him. But then when he (Mohammad) came to them, they ignored and rejected him. Same happened when Jesus came to Jews and they had to accept him and follow him, but they didn't.

@@Marcelo.1927 Do you know how we Muslims call him? Issa Masih (Jesus the Messiah)
We always mention the part where it indicates that he is the messiah, so we're not like jews. We believe that he will come back as messiah. But we don't believe him as God or son of God or his death and it comes from Quran, the book that Jesus pbuh was announcing it in John 16:12-15.
All he was announcing to people were about Mohammad, the person who doesn't speak of himself but only speaks out what he hears (Quran is what he was hearing and repeating it to people)
And also he had inherited all Jesus pbuh had. He (Mohammad) inherited everything from previous prophets. He cut the moon in the sky. He brought back Sun into the sky after sunset so Ali pbuh could say his prayer in time (it was one done by Mosses pbuh before).
Once he was asked to order a tree to walk and he did so and the tree started walking.
And speaking of the future as Jesus pbuh had indicated for people that he will tell you what is yet to come.
So it's not like you think about Muslims and Quran. We do believe him as prophet and as Messiah and we're waiting for him to come back.
