I just realized: Wheneevr Someone gets taken away from Luz, she doesn't say "No, don't" She sais "No, _not yet!_" I think this is a remnant of her fathers death. A part of Luz has accepted that at some point, everyone leaves. With her father, it seems that at some point it was clear that he would not make it, and Luz tries to tell herself that she knows that, she just wants a bit more time. A bit more to say all the things she couldn't say. And the cruelest part is that I don't think she has ever realized that there is _never_ enough time. There is never a moment where you say to a loved one "Now I have said everything i will ever need, you can pass on without me having regrets" There is always more, always something you want to say or do... it will never be the 'right' time to say goodbye
As someone who’s been there before, reading this hit me on a personal level. No one’s truly prepared to handle it or say goodbye when a loved one dies. It’s even more difficult finding a way to move on from it, and the will to keep going. One thing I noticed rewatching this series is that King's stuffed toy, Francois, didn't always belong to him. It was just a random item he took from from the Conformatorium when he, Luz and Eda went there to get his fake crown back in the first episode. I was under the impression that was something he always owned while living with Eda before Luz showed up.
I think the reason Darius' eye colored had changed is because of his magic. As a kid he had purple eyes (his original eye color), but when he became a coven head, his hair turned to goop and his eye color became green.
Question is, in previous photos, weren’t his eyes green? For example, in Alador’s picture with the champion belt, we can see Darius with what I remember to be green eyes.. Maybe my memory is failing or something lol
Glamours are also a thing. Amity's siblings use them to hide blemishes, it would make sense that someone would use them for something like changing eye color just as an aesthetic choice, the way some people use colored contact lenses.
About that. Remember in Enchanting Grom when Luz unknowingly swung a stick at Amity while crying out "Luz Chop!" Fast forward to "For the Future" and Camilla's baseball bopping of Kikimora after crying out "Brujah Toss!" Those two are so alike!
Amity grabbing her dress when she's nervous or worried is SUCH an underrated small detail that I'm so happy they added for the smallest little sign of emotion, GAH WHY IS THIS SHOW ENDING SO EARLY 😭😭😭
Also gives more context to how stressed Amity was about Boscha's reaction. Like, we could obviously tell already it wasn't a good time for her, but that little detail shows just how stressful it was for her.

Another neat thing is that the dvd that’s under the Nintendo swap has a bite taken out of it. This could either be a one off joke or a reference to when gus was first introduced to dvds, mistaking it for a shiny cookie and almost eating it.
The fact that willow's crop top has the same design as Mable's sweater from gravity falls is most likely because Dana and Alex both worked on the owl house and gravity falls Dana being the creator of The Owl House of course and Alex being the creator of Gravity falls.
Upon analyzing season 1, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Boiling Isles DO in fact have bananas, but they go by another name. I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking about this. 😅
@@TopAnimeLoverEver Willow had what appeared to be a banana peel on her head at one point. This means that the Boiling Isles must at least have access to the peels of bananas, but the word "banana" doesn't exist. So either bananas go by another name, or Boscha somehow went to the human realm. I'm onto something here...
@RealGoldenGuard Orrr Hunter was so sheltered that he genuinely hadn't heard about bananas yet. This boy was probably living on military rations, you think he knew a name of more than three edible ingredients?
The show's logo was the answer THE ENTIRE TIME, and I failed to connect the dots... and of course tiny rose would said that since the character is technically the in-universe of Dana Terrace, she planned the whole thing afterall
Yeahh and I noticed how the first time we saw that smol thing in the first ep, she has a strong idk accent on. But later on the other episodes, her her accent turned to normal american like. I wonder why tho? And the VA of that is the creator's.
we need an after credits scene in the finale episode showing Tiny Nose in a messy room typing on a typewriter and saying something along the lines of "The End, now I just need to find a multibillion-dollar corporation to pitch this to" as she holds up the script, only for a Giffin to fly in through the window and eat the script and then take off, ending on a depressed Tiny Nose
I looked at the logo when I first saw the show, saw it had Owlbert staff with the O and H, then I turned it around because the L looked similar, saw the S and dismissed it, I DISMISSED IT TELLING MYSELF IT WAS NOTHING
Also all of the “Byeeeeee”’s the Clawthornes seem to do as well as Hunter And the owl topper on the vile of titans blood that Belos used to get back to the boiling isles in Thanks to Them that seemingly belonged to the witch Caleb was with (and her name hinted at being Evelyn as Belos says it when breaking Flapjack), all pointing to the fact that she was a Clawthorne And with Hunter being a Grimwalker of Caleb, he is kind of a Clawthorne
You can also find Alador and Odalia in the season one finale in the background in Lilith's flashback (where she tells Luz about the first time Eda turned into the Owl Beast when they were trying out for the Emperor's Coven). And in Reaching Out, in Alador's picture of when he won the Bonesburrow Brawl, you can see Raine in Eda far in the background. Pretty crazy
i thought it was just a flex, like "ha i can understand your book even when reading it backwards". plus everyone else seemed to love it too and presumably they read it forwards lol
Not only did an episode title reference it *Hooty's moving hassle*, but Lilith's nickname for Hooty i.e Hootcifer is also a reference to Howl's Moving Castle. Specifically of the character Calcifer, who is much like Hooty in that they are both demons who can control the home they are bound to.
@@soowshh1529 That was explained as to why in the video though, plus I've never seen that way of writing in dialogue before so I definitely found that interesting. Actually writing a character to forget, not just a moment, but exactly how someone said something, it's realistic. But I can see why you'd find it iffy.
during the tea bag part with amity at 3:13 not only did she put in the tea bag wrong(like you said) but gus is using the abrsive side of the sponge which would scratch up the plates😅
2:57 That is probably because he merged with his abomination, either that or we are going to find out the darius we see is NOT the real one but the abomination he controls from another location, that even belos didn't know.
... pretty sure it's just a continuity error. Yk, because Darius is much more commonly associated with purple than green, the animator prolly just forgot.
there's also a hint to luz's palisman being a snake in the actual title of the show, like how the owl in the O is connected to a part of the H representing eda's palisman the same can be seen in how the L connects to the S making it look like an upside down staff
The snake thing at 4:10 was insane, not just the framed portrait but the beaded bracelet with love on it and the shoe lace/rope representing a snake and a PICTURE OF VEE in the top left whos snake like. That and how the egg itself resembles a coiled snake, so obvious in every way what they did.
I saw someone mention that in the Elsewhere and Elsewhen episode, they try to burn Philip's journal, just as Eda tried to burn Luz's book in the first episode.
Some of these parts I noticed on my first watch of owl House as I watched all 42 episodes in under 3 days. Yeah, I joined the owl House fandom late but am glad I did. Still, it's always interesting when rewatching a tv show on spotting and realizing things we didn't know the first time. Not sure if it'll happen for the final episode once we get close to its air date, I still do love how some references and lines got repeated, especially in regards to Luz and Amity wanting their futures to have each other in them. A sign of how far they've come in the show and have earned the number 1 spot in my top 10 favorites animated tv show ships.
I noticed that repeated line immediately and I thought it was cute! I believe I joined the fandom when season 2 was just around the corner, and I’d finished season 1 and fell in love with the show and fandom :D glad to have another one of us
What did I notice the second time I watched it? Hunter calls himself Caleb the first time He meets Willow. Then when bellows sees his talisman he calls him Caleb. And in the story on the hayride, You could see flapjack. Caleb was Phillips brother. And flapjack was his pallisman. That's why flapjack chose Hunter.
I haven't seen anyone else mention this yet, but in the Owlbeast's flashback, where it looks like it's attacked and escapes into the ocean, becoming the scroll that's used to curse Eda, the person attacking the Owlbeast has a moon-shaped symbol on them that looks similar to the moon imagery related to the Collector. I don't think that symbol would have been present if it wasn't important in some way.
I used to think that person was the same person as our Collector, but now we know there’s other Collectors, I’m pretty sure they’re two different people. Though they have the same voice, but maybe that’s just what all Collectors sound like? Hopefully that’s elaborated on in Watching and Dreaming.
@@NotSoStraight Personally, my theory of what the other collectors look like are that each one has a different height and phase of the moon on their face, as OUR collector has a waxing gibbous, and the other collector has a waxing crescent. but Idk about the height, but im fairly certain on the moon phases thing lol
A little detail I missed on the first watchthrough, but loved the second time: When Luz is trying to be like Azura throughout the show, she refers to herself as the Good Witch Luzura, because she's roleplaying as her favorite hero. In the finale, she calls herself the Good Witch Luz, because she's no longer playing a role, she's accepted herself as the hero of her own story.
3:53 The collector actually wasn't planned before the show, so this is more of a coincidence. And before anyone comments something like 'They write the show before making it, it was planned' 1. They write scripts one season at a time 2. The collecter was added to give the show a new character as well as have a satisfying ending And before anyone asks for proof. The show was cancelled as early as may 2021, right? Well, the collectors first official appearance was an episode released at the very end of June 2021 with the first physical appearance being April 2022. And while this appears to contradict my previous statement about seasons being wrote all at once, one after the other, TOH got a cancellation slammed on them at the very beginning of a season, which could have easily affected their plans, and seeing as they had the main characters voices at this point, they didn't really need to do casting so they were probably much more lenient on finishing the script before starting work on the actual show. So, there's your proof. (yes I just wrote an entire few paragraphs over a silly little video, no we will not be commenting on it)
wow the luz misremembering clips are INSANE, amazing attention to detail from the staff. it adds a whole new layer to luz's guilt about leaving her mother + the draining spell. thank you for posting!
THANK YOU for this video! I love seeing all these tiny lil details and references, I LOVE IT! Also at 3:31 if you look down, you see that Gus finally got to eat the shiny cookie 😌
The implication at 2:45 that those are *dead bodies* sat up for tea, just one still alive and still struggling to get away, makes hooty much darker, and hollow mind more palatable. Love it!
4:15 I think at this point in the episode it was Gus illusioning himself to look like Amity, if I'm remembering correctly. But that would mean Gus pays close enough attention to all his friends to be able to mimic them perfectly, down to every little quirk, which I think is a really cool tidbit. Maybe he thought ahead to having to disguise himself as them, or maybe he just picks up on these things naturally.
Something that I noticed was that on the day of unity, our main trio all received permanent injuries from the event. Eda lost her arm, King got a long crack on his skull thing, and Luz got a scar directly from Belos.
Ya. Same as how I quote Wings of Fire's "death, death, monsters everywhere, death" from when I obsessively read those books, ND countless quotes from this show ♡
The line at 2:58 shocked me so much. I can't believe The Collector could've been foreshadowed from that early on in the show. Details like these and the rest in this video make me question how some people despise and HATE this show
@@fanatic_fans_stopmotions Just ignore them, you will realize that their presence is actually quite small when you stop indulging in their crap. As the wise Skipper once said “Just Smile and Ways Boys, Smile and Wave”.
So, a little thing I noticed: In "Elsewhere and Elsewhen", when a demon tries to burn Phillip's Diary, he says, "These pretty little words should make pretty good kindling" and it cuts to a close-up of Phillip gasping. This is the same thing that happens in the first episode where Eda says "This should make good kindling" to seeing Luz' Good Witch Azura book, after which there's a similar close up to Luz gasping.

...elaborate?
@@TopAnimeLoverEver Willow had what appeared to be a banana peel on her head at one point. This means that the Boiling Isles must at least have access to the peels of bananas, but the word "banana" doesn't exist. So either bananas go by another name, or Boscha somehow went to the human realm. I'm onto something here...
Wait a minute you’re definitely onto something :0 good eye!
@@RealGoldenGuard lol. Huh, I'll have to rewatch now
@RealGoldenGuard Orrr Hunter was so sheltered that he genuinely hadn't heard about bananas yet.
Also all of the “Byeeeeee”’s the Clawthornes seem to do as well as Hunter
And the owl topper on the vile of titans blood that Belos used to get back to the boiling isles in Thanks to Them that seemingly belonged to the witch Caleb was with (and her name hinted at being Evelyn as Belos says it when breaking Flapjack), all pointing to the fact that she was a Clawthorne
And with Hunter being a Grimwalker of Caleb, he is kind of a Clawthorne
3:32 you can also see that one of the disks has a bite taken out of it. And Gus tried to take a bite out of a disk in Wing It Like Witches
4:31 OK BUT SHE SAID THE SAME THING TO BELOS BEFORE KILLING HIM!!! with the passing of time his phrase improved... we love you Luz
*just realized the reason kings book might’ve been approved was because the guy who approved it read it backwards*
Wait what
What do you mean
At 0:30 he reads the book backwards. Then later on in the episode he reads the book normally which is why he didn’t except the sequel
i thought it was just a flex, like "ha i can understand your book even when reading it backwards".
plus everyone else seemed to love it too and presumably they read it forwards lol
Oh my God!!
Oh my God!!
2:07 here Luz remembers The Collector to be more sinister and evil
LUZ REMEMBERING WHAT HAPPNED WRONG IS SO INTERESTING OMG
I love stories that keep things consistent, even with the little details.
Except with the whole retconning what someone said in the next episode thing
@@soowshh1529 That was explained as to why in the video though, plus I've never seen that way of writing in dialogue before so I definitely found that interesting. Actually writing a character to forget, not just a moment, but exactly how someone said something, it's realistic. But I can see why you'd find it iffy.
@@soowshh1529 it wasn't a retcon though, whenever Luz has a flashback it's just worded slightly differently because she misremembers them

Luz misremembering quotes is actually so insane of them to do I love it
Luz inadvertently describing her future girlfriend in S1 E2 is too perfect for words
5:15 THEY DID AMITYS CHIN SO DIRTYYY 😭😭😭😭😭
🌛
it be like 🗿
For the last clip, I think Luz also says Not Yet when she's being pulled up while still talking to her mom in Yesterday's Lie
Oh yeah, idk why I missed that.
Thank you for letting me know!
there's also a hint to luz's palisman being a snake in the actual title of the show, like how the owl in the O is connected to a part of the H representing eda's palisman the same can be seen in how the L connects to the S making it look like an upside down staff
The snake thing at 4:10 was insane, not just the framed portrait but the beaded bracelet with love on it and the shoe lace/rope representing a snake and a PICTURE OF VEE in the top left whos snake like. That and how the egg itself resembles a coiled snake, so obvious in every way what they did.
really cool how luz misremembers what the characters said, its realistic both because of adhd and trauma
this is why i love the Owl house, they add so much details to it and it's super interesting to me, because i love watching all the small details
I saw someone mention that in the Elsewhere and Elsewhen episode, they try to burn Philip's journal, just as Eda tried to burn Luz's book in the first episode.
Gosh they’re good at referencing themselves. I’m impressed
I believe I joined the fandom when season 2 was just around the corner, and I’d finished season 1 and fell in love with the show and fandom :D glad to have another one of us
Better late than never! Happy to have another person in the fandom
In season three, during Luz's recording on her laptop, you can also see a poster for Resident Evil 4. It's called Domicile Sinister in their universe.
0:39 King's dad also has the Bad Girl Coven T-shirt
What did I notice the second time I watched it? Hunter calls himself Caleb the first time He meets Willow. Then when bellows sees his talisman he calls him Caleb. And in the story on the hayride, You could see flapjack. Caleb was Phillips brother. And flapjack was his pallisman. That's why flapjack chose Hunter.
I always assumed he must have been Evelyn's.
In thanks to them you can see a disc with a bite in it that implies that Gus actually ate the shiny cookie
No not a cookie
Okay, this is such a good compilation
I was aware of some of these but it's such a thorough list. Awesome job!
Aahh thank you so much! I’m happy you enjoyed it ^^
A little detail I missed on the first watchthrough, but loved the second time:
When Luz is trying to be like Azura throughout the show, she refers to herself as the Good Witch Luzura, because she's roleplaying as her favorite hero. In the finale, she calls herself the Good Witch Luz, because she's no longer playing a role, she's accepted herself as the hero of her own story.
2:00 luz REALLY has a memory problem
I mean. Do you remember everything word by word?
@@existenceispain_geekthesiren No but, it was a sentence, changed to a whole another one, but yea i agree with you, also it was a joke lol.

0:04 No it was actually what Titan form her looked like.

The collector actually wasn't planned before the show, so this is more of a coincidence. And before anyone comments something like 'They write the show before making it, it was planned'
1. They write scripts one season at a time
2. The collecter was added to give the show a new character as well as have a satisfying ending
And before anyone asks for proof.
4:15 Amity’s low “I don’t know” has me cracking UP!
2:35 this makes me wonder if he named ALL the grimmwalkers "Hunter"? Or just the Hunter we know? 🤔
I doubt he named ALL of them hunter, bc Darius didn't seem to think Hunter's name was at all unusual
Those little details make everything so much more meaningful it's great
I will always love Amity putting the tea bag on the outside of the cup

THANK YOU for this video! I love seeing all these tiny lil details and references, I LOVE IT!
Also at 3:31 if you look down, you see that Gus finally got to eat the shiny cookie 😌
Another detail I've noticed is that Azura's speech at the very start of the show is used again by luz when she defeats belos
Woah, who would have guessed?😮
GET YOU SOMEONE WHO LOOKS AT YOU LIKE RAINE DOES AT EDA IN THIS SCENE 0:55
i never noticed that hunter said "whats about to happen should be relatively painless...if you do what i say!" i'm actually screaming ahhhhhhh :0 :D
God there is such a big tonal change in Hunter’s voice from the first “relatively painless” line to the second it’s incredible
0:45 i heard it as the gaurdian owl of kahoot all the time
2:20 reminds me of UNDERTALE actually
4:59 this totally DESTROYED ME
Hunter sounds sp much younger than he did before!
Amity nervously clutching her dress is a cute detail that's very easy to miss.
I was more amazed at the foreshadowing of king's crown to the collector's palace
Something that I noticed was that on the day of unity, our main trio all received permanent injuries from the event. Eda lost her arm, King got a long crack on his skull thing, and Luz got a scar directly from Belos.
99.9% sure that 4:18 was just Luz's referencing her hyperfixation (good witch azura)
Ya. Same as how I quote Wings of Fire's "death, death, monsters everywhere, death" from when I obsessively read those books, ND countless quotes from this show ♡
The line at 2:58 shocked me so much.
I can't believe The Collector could've been foreshadowed from that early on in the show.
Details like these and the rest in this video make me question how some people despise and HATE this show
because they just hate it, tbh I hated the show before I watched it

0:54 in regards to the flowers those are snapdragons. Hinting at the fact Raine and Eda wouldn't have met without Terra Snapdragon
The “eat this suckaaa” gets referenced in the finale too!
i like how "Now eat this succaaaa" is the phrase said as much as "Us weirdos have to stick together"
but not as much as "byeeeeee"
1:09 What if beta Luz is actually Camilla in her younger years?
2:20 also references Undertale, which I think is neat. There's actually a lot of references to stuff like that in the show tbh
So, a little thing I noticed:
In "Elsewhere and Elsewhen", when a demon tries to burn Phillip's Diary, he says, "These pretty little words should make pretty good kindling" and it cuts to a close-up of Phillip gasping. This is the same thing that happens in the first episode where Eda says "This should make good kindling" to seeing Luz' Good Witch Azura book, after which there's a similar close up to Luz gasping.
In one of the photos in Willow's scrapbook, they're watching Hocus Pocus
0:50 those flowers are called snapdragons btw.

Amity grabbing her dress when stressed or nervous is a form of stimming similar to how Luz rapidly stomps when excited or nervous
