- For his final cosplay incognito walk through 2015's San Diego Comic-Con, Adam suits up as a Judge from the 2012 Dredd film. His helmet, tactical vest, Lawgiver pistol, and all the other pieces of the uniform are painstaking reproductions, weathered to look like they've seen some combat. Watch as Judge Savage meets up with a group of other Dredd cosplayers to patrol Comic-Con!

@@RudyBleeker He's already in a successful TV show, The Boys. But I read that a Dredd TV show is in the works by Rebellion, it's already written and they've apparently spent around $100 million building a TV production department, so I think the chances are pretty good.

Scott Mantooth Maybe it's better taht way. We have an awsome Dredd movie that will stay the test of time. A sequel could have spoiled it badly... At least thats what I tel myself to get along with it.
possibly...sequels can be tricky and what is thought to be a good idea early on in the production but too expensive to truly visualise but still kept because it is still pretty cool on the surface introduces a cascading probability of mediocre results...a huge budget does not mean you'll make anything back and the way the accounting is done for many of these movies even those movie franchises that have made several billion in collected sales have technically still lost money....still don't get that type of logic
Ghost in the Shell is getting a live action movie so there's hope that the same can be done for Akira...just hope it is done the right way

It's not the beard. Honestly: human being are REALLY good at recognizing facial features. It's why all cars look like faces (and probably why they are designed that way too). Most of us have seen Adam Savage before. Mythbusters is TOO iconic. Even if you don't watch the show, you've at least HEARD of it and KNOW OF Adam and Jamie. As a long time viewer: I recognize Adam by his _CHIN._ It just looks like him. I've seen his face since I was younger than 10. He's been a part of my life! It's like learning the face of a family member. You never really forget it.

thechosendude Not a remake, completely different and much better movie just based on the same source material. And we NEED a sequel to the 2012 Dredd.
thechosendude It wasn't really a remake; both films are based on the comic book character Judge Dredd, but they're not really related otherwise. Much like the Tim Burton (and others) Batman movie and the Christopher Nolan Batman movies.

I thought he would've just made a large, square-jawed prosthetic to give him that Patrick Warburton look. That would've been cool :)
My father shaved his mustache _once_ (before I was born, so I never saw this). My mother hasn't let him live it down yet because she couldn't stop laughing at him and he couldn't grow it back fast enough.
perhaps he kept it as an easter egg so some could identify him.

The "hidden" walks are always my favorite. It's great to see adam just get to blend in and check out comic con for himself, and the crew he met up with all looked to have fantastic Dredd costumes too.

LiamTheGreat From the looks of it I think he just bought all the pieces to the costume and assembled it. You can buy literally all the parts to make it and just simply wear it and it's done.
Bat Fastard A lot of people make costumes as it is. I'm one of those who buys costumes. I'm doing the same as Adam did for his Judge uniform which I am doing as well.

Here in 2023, 11 years later, still hoping for a sequel, or even a TV series from the same makers of this massively under-rated, under-appreciated classic, with Karl Urban & Olivia Thirlby coming back as Judge Dredd & Judge Anderson respectively again! Make it happen! With the success of various IP with darker & mature topics like The Boys, this could be a hit!
"Judge Savage" sounds like the guy in the team who is the Bad Cop, Heavy Weapons Expert, and Tank.

Exactly lolol. I was just realized that after rewatch it.
at the end one of the other Dredd guys actually said " holy crap I just realized who you are!" so apparently it wasn't as noticeable as you'd think.
Probably cause not many people had the chance to really look at the name and look at the person and make the connection before he moved to his next location.
I don't think that outfit will never be not cool. Like holy crap seeing all the judges together etc was epic.

Is Adam Savage really that well known in America? I doubt he would be recognised that easily on a German event like, say, the gamescom or the comic con Stuttgart that easily, even without that costume on.^^
gargoyleex Mythbusters is the longest running show on Discovery so he's been on mainstream television for 12 or 13 years now.
In addition, he has been coming to SDCC for 10 years, holding at least one large panel and doing this event for the last 5-6 of those. Most con-goers, and especially the cosplayers, know who he is and that he is walking the floor in costume.
gargoyleex I'm pretty sure that if he wore his regular hat, he would be easily recognized on similar events in Europe.
gargoyleex I cant speak for other European countries but in the UK most people who are into this kind of stuff know who Adam Savage is. He has been on our TV for a long time also and his face is instantly recognisable.
gargoyleex The sort of people that go to US comic cons are the sort to have watched Mythbusters. Also the regular goers know he's around as he's been going for years.
