I like cosplay, but y'know what one of the things that made the Greatest Generation, the "Greatest Generation" was...the fact that they weren't all pretending to be fantasy characters. Reality was enough for them. Why isn't it for us?
Wrong. Their fantasy characters were Sherlock Holmes, cowboys, howdie doodie, and king Arthur. Every generation has their fantastical escapes. You're quite naive if you think they didn't. We in modern times just have better recourses to do the things we like.
The New generation loves geek things, and that isn't bad at all, let people be themselves.
