we will look back one day and revere at how truly legendary TINY DESK was. It hope it last for long enough for my kids to experience this mastery. Thank You BOB and all the musicians that have blessed us.
So i'm a Swede and i found this guy yesterday through a tv show over here, i never would have guessed in my wildest dreams he was Swedish. What a truly amazing and unique voice and soul.
Wow you guys are late. This guy is a very talented. He got so many great songs. I'm very surprised that the mainstream media don't talk about this man. I'm from HAITI and many places I go, people are listening to his music. be
This deserves so much more then the 317k views it got. Albin is such a rare gem. He doesn't perform music, he embodies music. Raw, thoughful and full of true pain and love.
Meccabullock lou lou is the story of his first love who was strongly addicted to heroine. Because he was so in love with her he would to anything she does or says so he started doing heroin and became addicted himself
Why oh why are his studio albums so GODDAMN OVERPRODUCED? For the love of god, let silence into the breaks and let his words, bridges, and melodies hang in the air the way they were meant to...
Indeed, watched his live performances on a popular tv show here in Sweden which was incredible and then I listened to his recordings on Spotify and was quite disappointed, something with the studio production that takes away his magic.
Its common.. a shame yeah. But just accept. Matt Andersen also have overproduced records. I also like the naked, dynamic recordings with lot of air/silence
This came up on my suggestions. Changed my morning thank you! His voice resonates in my ears and head. His music is timeless and makes me want to dance barefoot in the summer breezy.
His song "Mamma" sung in Swedish is so hauntingly beautiful. I heard it for the first time just after my Swedish mother passed away. Jag gråter varje gång jag lyssnar på denna låt.
After 10 years of playing the guitar and being active with music I'm still amazed of how this art can connect such of magic and passion. Great discovers on sites like this. See you around
Albin Lee Melancholy. Was looking for the clip of him introducing his mum at his family home. Stumbled on this. What an authentic man, I was singing along with Bloodshot. Then he mentioned the quip about the BBC. I chuckled. Will the stars line up so I get to Gothenburg on 6th Dec? I blinkin' hope so. Huge fan, HUGE!
Oh Lord, he is so damned wonderful and also a lot to watch. His band is so tight. Just saw him on my feet the other day and have not been disappointed yet.
How am I only coming across your amazing sound now?? I heard Forget About Us on the radio yesterday knew I needed more of this in my life! Outstanding xx
Have you heard the "quarantaine sessions"-covers he's been putting out recently? Not saying they sound exactly like this, but a bit different than his albums. I've really loved them, and enjoyed seeing which songs he picks to cover.
man, I love this kind of situations. first I was like, the fuck is wrong with this guy, and at the end Im searching on google to buy his record. last song killed me
Oh my god what at fu***n waste of talent on today's musical audience! This guy, his talent and his epic voice would have made him a legend if he came through in another era. Nowadays fantastic talents like this just gets washed over with a casual "yeeeeeah... but I can't dance to it!" It's just sad he doesn't get the recognition he deserves........
The way you (Robin Hilton) talk about Meldau's passion, I think of the southern folks who decided to earn a living preaching Jesus. At some point, it became clear that Jesus wasn't enough, you had to have entertainment....and you had to come across as genuine., that's how you got your flock. Just saying this because my grandfather did just that and used up all his kids that could handle an instrument. My dad was the youngest and was born on the road near Huston. instrument. Anyway, Meldau is what I imagine a hard working baptist preacher would sound like if he had soul.
April 2024 and I have just discovered this amazing young man! What a voice!
He is so underrated! Saw him live once, chilling.

Love it.. This dude has soul. He's doing what he was born to do.

Meccabullock
Lou did.. Read up on it. And the video shows it too.
Lou?
You should ask Keaton Henson
i did it, Mind yo buisiness

Adam Schmidt Agree.
Completely agree. I just keep coming back here. Spotify stuff sounds so generic but that voice is perfect for stripped back production.
These are definately the best renditions of any songs of his.
Shocked this video does not have millions of views. What an underrated gentleman. Thanks for having such great artists on here.
Albin Lee Meldau, you touch my soul... I feel your passion, pain, and spirit when you sing.
god damn, I'm so stoked I clicked this..
this is a guy I will not be forgetting any time soon
hello nick! just checking in 6 years later to see if you have forgotten about this guy or not? maybe its time to watch it again? haha
Instant fan here. Thank you Tiny Desk crew and Albin. I have a feeling we will be hearing much more from you.
This came up on my suggestions. Changed my morning thank you! His voice resonates in my ears and head. His music is timeless and makes me want to dance barefoot in the summer breezy.
The guy is a genious!!! I'm lost for words.
he's pretty big here in Sweden. I've watched him play live several times, and believe me he sounds as good as he sounds here.
He was superb in Shepards Bush in London quite a while ago now. Great acoustic show
Albin has literally the best unique voice ever
Might also like Asaf Avidan
And Ray Lamontagne.
And Allan Rayman
And Fil Bo Riva
And Daniel Norgren
Can't get enough of Albin! Have had this one on repeat since June!
His song "Mamma" sung in Swedish is so hauntingly beautiful. I heard it for the first time just after my Swedish mother passed away. Jag gråter varje gång jag lyssnar på denna låt.
This guy's voice is insane
The last song gave me chills but I also watched this in just boxers next to an open window and it was kind of breezy this morning

I get the same feeling from Bloodshot that I get from the Cash version of Hurt - experience shining through, making it feel so genuine and honest
Wonderful! Absolutely breathtaking.
Copenhagen 25/10 8 p.m. Here I come!
Just what I needed.
Love the style of this bloke.
Also love the facial expression of the piano guy, e.g. 1:14, 2:03, etc.
If you dont get Hiatus Kaiyote on Tiny Desk i will cut off my left hand with a butter knife and mail it to NPR's headquarters.
Seriously!! Nai Palm is releasing a solo album - PERFECT TIME TO INVITE HER.

His voice is heaven ..
NPR, there's a mistake in the musician's credits: wrote 2 drummers when one of them is clearly playing guitar (I believe Simon Sofelde?)
Everyone saying he reminds of young Clapton. Am I the only one who gets strong vibes of Paulo Nutini?
bloodshot is a masterpiece to me
