I really like your song what you made post Malone and I hope that you make another one and send like another one of one of your other post Malone songs if you can can you please thank you give me another message it's Elena a l a y n a is Elena
what am I doing bro? I love Austin, I don't think it's so obvious :D, I'm a regular person who watches RUclips videos too, I don't comment for affirmation, but rather to affirm the artist :)@PremiumUserUltra
He has a singer songwriters mentality. No matter how big he’s gotten, he still has all the awkward genuine energy of someone who truly cares about his craft. Breath of fresh air.
You can tell, even though I don't listen at all and know only the most famous titles from his repertoire, they all sound like something only he could have done. There was this one time too I wasn't sure it was his voice I was listening to but I recognized him still because his style was a bit different, but the vibe was there.
I couldn't agree more it reminded me of Mac Miller's mini desk concert in the sense that you can see and hear the passion for their craft and the music.
All the little imperfections in this set are awesome. Everytime his voice cracks, he fails to finish a sentence fully, gives everything so much emotion and raw beauty. It's incredible
@samiamiamifer when he was in Jacksonville, he swung by Jax beach and took the stage with my buddies and just wanted to do Nirvana and Sublime covers. totally cool
The fact that this man has toured the world in front of millions at this point and is still uncomfortable just shows how much he cares about the whole process and the overall quality. There's not a lot of people in his position that I get very positive vibes but man he seems pretty undeniably awesome.
He did something brilliant, which was to make the sound really *big* even though it's acoustic. So it's a really warm sound, instead of desperate or lonely. They're all breakup songs.
I fall apart - hit different without autotune. The raw emotion in his voice and his semi-introverted personality - Post has to be one of the coolest, most down to earth people on the planet!
Lost boy you are with me, in this Post Malone moment - if you can return to earth even for a listen - his music still plays as beautiful as you Nico, for you my son
@Christina0925 He is literally one of the most famous musicians right now, right behind Taylor Swift. A lot of his songs are number 1, GLOBALLY. He was number 1 on Billboard's year-end Top Artists chart for 2020. His music is referenced in a lot of major media constantly. He is not just famous, he is one of the most famous people in music right now.
@japlunkett6789 his newest album is great. It's much more toned down than his first 3. I would highly recommend giving it a listen. Make it a point to try all types of music!
My mom passed away on the 8th of August this month. She was 60 and absolutely loved Post Malone. Her favorite song was Sunflower. I know she would’ve loved this.
So sorry for your loss. I am 62 and am huge fan of Post. May his beautiful voice and music bring you comfort and remind of all the beautiful memories that will always be with you. ❤
that too. alcohol isn't good for the throat as well. I'm saying this out of love if it wasn't clear. My throat is in horrible pain from a cold/flu thing right now too @christophermillikan5257
Post malone shows that you can be a great singer without a beautiful textbook voice. I feel like so much of his music is raw, and that's what makes it emotional.
@jwoods2715just listened to most of it. It like it... but it's not as raw as this performance. And that's when I enjoy Post the most (didn't mean for that to rhyme lol)
their engineer is incredible. the howard stern show has probably the best live performance engineering I've ever heard oddly enough, worth looking up post's performances there as well
0:01 Sunflower - I'm not nervous at all actually 4:18 I Fall Apart - How bout them Cowboys? 8:28 Circles - This song is about a square 13:17 Enough is Enough - This song is off the new album ... and therefor I will sing it for you guys today, or attempt to
This is by far one of my favorite NPR… and there’s some hella good ones too. Acoustic Sunflowers took that song to a new level. We need more like this… Austin Post come back for another Tiny Desk!!
I had no idea how humble he really is. What an amazing musician. Thank you NPR for making theses concerts available to us all. I discover musicians I never would normally listen to.
Supremely agreed. I find myself delving into artists that I "know" but don't have the desire to listen to normally. But after seeing the honesty that comes through in a Tiny Desk performance, I find myself giving them a real chance, and am frequently rewarded. Thank you, @NPR Music
It’s become a cliche thing to say, but watch his Joe Rogan podcast appearances. I’ll be honest I had a completely different idea of what he’d be like as a person but he’s super interesting!
I went to one of his concerts recently and he was thanking his crew and shouting out everyone that was performing on stage with him every chance he got. He honestly was the most humble performer I’ve ever seen.
As someone who appreciates something like that...can you tell me how Post Melone's guitar was recorded. What kind of microphone is stuck to his guitar....? Manufacturer or model? Or what exactly do you call such a microphone? Thanks in advance and kind regards.
Whoever just sended the "like" I'm still watching and listening and enjoying. So we are sharing this beautyfull Music right now. Wherever and whoever you are, I send you my best wishes.
He's a super sweet and unique individual but let's not be blind to the poor quality that he showcased. He was the worst singer of the whole band and he made so many mistakes on the guitar. It's very honest of him to admit it but he's a professional and this is his profession. He is lacking and to me this means he wasted my time. And I really hate saying it bc I don't want to be a Posty hater 😭
@alex-ia944 there is a difference between recording artists and live performers 👍 recording artist like post do multiple takes when they make songs plus the autotune which is not a bad thing at all coming from an artist, you can look at this in the way that he even had guts to perform without autotune live cus i have seen so many mainstream recording artist who wont do this kinda thing : )
@vedide3804 Or he could take his profession more serious and take singing classes. I'm sure he has the money. At the end it's really just my opinion and I didn't mean any wrong 😔
ok fair enough he is post molone crazy artist and perfomer, i listen to his music from time to time... but if you listen to the first minute with your eyes closed.. its rough.
@drew75123 I think he doesn't sound good at all. Possibly touring took a toll on his voice then again the live clips I have seen he mostly just sings over a playback track which is pretty lame but the standard these days I reckon. Still like some of his music
@packotakkoyou’re braindead I fear. Dude is pitch perfect effortlessly 💀 no autotune needed. Idk how you think touring has “took a toll” when he’s quite literally perfectly on key😭
@Squatchygal I personally only heard bits and pieces of his earlier stuff but didn't think much of it...then I saw his Nirvana session during Covid and did a complete 180 on his abilities and how grounded he is. Then stuff like this only cements things. I wish he performed with a full band more often. Add in a lot of stuff with him having pure genuine interactions with fans and it's pretty obvious he's not just good, he's needed.
NPR is a pretty incredible in general. Just about the last trustworthy and genuine thing in the mainstream. They have done a great job safeguarding from chasing profits and trying to aim for marketshare.
so true! npr has been great since I was a kid, in music, interviews, etc. All the musicians seem to feel genuinely appreciated for their music on these
I love how the tiny desk concerts always have the artist almost blushing, its like a throw back to singing at your friends garage. I can tell this show was personal for him and his songs were selected with intent. Warmed my heart this fine Sunday morning. God bless you posty.
The only bad thing about artist doing this while on tour is the strain on the voice. Singing every night and then having to do your best take of these songs mid day is tough. Bring him back so he can do these songs justice. He deserves it!
@foome36 He was struggling pretty bad. It doesn’t seem like it but he was literally singing at the top of his lungs. This is the worst feeling ever as a singer. Any singers out there know how tough it is. I respect posty for keeping it G tho
I love tiny desk concerts because a musician cannot hide. It's only their voice and their music laid bare. You passed the test in my opinion Posty. Good on ya.
100%, we need to Posty Folk Album asap. He's done a bunch of cool "country" covers on tiktok and his voice is just MADE for it. His collaboration with Noah Kahan hopefully bears that out at some point soon.
@Jord471 100% not lol. Even autotune wouldnt miss this many notes. But that's the point, humans dont have 100% accuracy - it has its own charm. And he certainly does NOT have 100% accuracy here.
Wholesome? He’s a thief who stole 20 million in taxpayer pandemic relief money meant for small businesses. People lost their businesses and employees lost jobs because Post Malone and Chris Brown rigged the system to fill their own pockets while so many people struggled to survive, he is anything but wholesome!
@daveylives meant for people who need it and he spent the money on a new house when he already owns a dozen. You’re a disgusting excuse for a human if you think it’s ok for the wealthy to steal from the poor and needy.
It kind of sounds like you see those things as a crutch or something, when they’re just part of his sound. An acoustic album would be cool, but there’s nothing wrong with electronic music or auto tune. It’s just another tool in a musicians toolkit
@Radarssbm yeah... but it ruins the purity of it all . He is doing very well i think :D its just that Feeling that his music would be richer without electronics
@jordancruz9072 you know it's good when it's the most racially diverse group of people in one room lol. Truly hand picked. Other than that, this was amazing 👏
It's really driving me nuts how much better this is than any of the official album versions. Post Malone, you seem like a real nice guy. Could you get this band back together and record all of your songs like this? That would be amazing
There is something just magic about NPR. Like a big class project and everyone did the homework and the whole team knocks it out of the park every time. Would love to hear all the artists say what NPR means to them.
As a person who just saw him in concert, and then see this released, this is the real deal. His voice is stretched to the limits right now, and Bob is not using auto tune on his mic or the background vocals as far as I can tell. That vibrato he has is really actually crazy. Is it perfect? No. Is it a real band of rockstars and some of the best talent in the world? Yes.
Who else noticed that the bassist is the same one from Sabrina Carpenter's Tiny Desk? I don’t know who that man is, but I’m happy to see him doing so well!
I don’t listen to pop music, let alone Post Malone, but I’m just drawn to him as a person. What a great guy he is. Amazing character and a breath of fresh air.
It's just the proof that the music industry ruins actual talent. I would never listen to his stuff either, but this proves dude has more talent than this idiocracy can handle. Another big proof is that Billie Eilish. Recently watched a video of her singing with Dave Grohl, and it's the first time i've ever heard her actually sing. Her music is lazy whisper garbage, but she actually projected and harmonized with Grohl. WE NEED to abolish record labels, and the entire industry and give independent the artist their path.
Bass players smile was infectious. Dude was stoked the whole way through, I almost get the feeling they did very little rehearsals and he was impressed/grateful at how organic and spontaneous the whole jam played out
Of course. He's not a great singer, but his delivery and style is attractive and pleasing. If you can entertain and have charismatic qualities, you don't need to be that good of a singer at all.
You are so right I wish there were more like him and in my 61 years of listening to all types of music he is one of a kind his parents must be so proud of what he has achieved so far ,🐈 Australia
Talk about being vulnerable and compassionate. Not only did Posty take time during his surely busy tour schedule to perform this for us but he also did it with a severely strained voice and a smile. What a performer. What an artist. What a human 💚
Post is just a great guy. I took my then 10 old son to see him in early 2020. He made sure my boy got a sunflower, his tech delivered smashed pieces of his guitar to him, and Post came down to autograph one of them for him. I’ll never forget how kind he was. Just an all around good dude… and his talent is generational.
I am a big NPR fan and Always put Austin’s work aside since it didn’t fit my genre. After this little session I’m proud to say NPR brought me Post Malone . 🎉

please can u put the right title because the two first i think there' a mistake. thx for what u do for culture. peace and love npr
I really like your song what you made post Malone and I hope that you make another one and send like another one of one of your other post Malone songs if you can can you please thank you give me another message it's Elena a l a y n a is Elena
Everything Post Malone does, he acts like it’s the most fun he has ever had in his life. A true gift to humanity
Agree!
how weird. He's an entertainer who literally gets paid to entertain. Not like he's saving the world, cured cancer or something. 🤣
@cknorrishe’s genuine…. You can see people do it and NOT be genuine.
He did the same thing even when no one knew who he was. you can find like 15 year old videos on youtube of him performing the same way@cknorris
@cknorriswhy so cynical? It’s nice to see people be actually grateful and happy (:
💙🍻
Thank You for this personal concert Mr. Malone
Thank you for doing this for us ❤
W post
🔥
love you post, you played a piece in expanding my outlook on music other than hip hop
Straight up, Posty needs to drop an acoustic album with this band. They sound absolutely fantastic!!!
dude, posty needs a country album cover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i neeed it!
@homerdickens1301 100% all his work is great, but this has a totally different vibe and sound. It’s so genuine
dude just dropped an acoustic album basically called Austin
I’ve been wanting a country album from post for a minute
absolutely
what's the point of an algorithm if I'm just hearing this now?
Well at least you found this masterpiece
I come back to thus a couple times a month! It’s so good! I miss this era of posty! He gets to do whatever he wants but I love this season for him!
its never to late for an thing
I listen to this a couple times a week bro. Music at its peak right here.
Post Malone is the most wholesome gangster looking little boy spirited adult man, I love how he found his voice in music. A long awaited session here!
He's white millennial ODB
Annoying when other channels do this, it's obvious what you're doing.
I always heard it in these songs, how strong they are as pop-- which means you can arrange them in all sorts of different ways.
what am I doing bro? I love Austin, I don't think it's so obvious :D, I'm a regular person who watches RUclips videos too, I don't comment for affirmation, but rather to affirm the artist :)@PremiumUserUltra
@StreetHierarchy Not even close but that made me laugh ngl 😂
He has a singer songwriters mentality. No matter how big he’s gotten, he still has all the awkward genuine energy of someone who truly cares about his craft. Breath of fresh air.

I couldn't agree more it reminded me of Mac Miller's mini desk concert in the sense that you can see and hear the passion for their craft and the music.
@irollerblade13I came here to say that ❤
@irollerblade13yeaaa that's what was on my mind too. They both given the same vibes and energy
Mac's tinydesk sealed it for me as a channel fan, and this performance has that level of deliver imo
He needs to do an album with this ensemble and 0 auto tune. Dude's natural voice has so much emotion even when it's not at 100%
All the little imperfections in this set are awesome. Everytime his voice cracks, he fails to finish a sentence fully, gives everything so much emotion and raw beauty. It's incredible
Watch his nirvana covers .
@samiamiamifer I would love Metal/Punk album from him. His new album has less autotune. Those Nirvana tribute were dope! Saw it livestreaming in COVID
@BlixtaTors I've been saying this too. If you watch some of his live performances of Take What You Want you will hear some heavier vocals!
Life is beautiful , thank you for embodying that. You’re amazing and I appreciate you ❤
He is so full of love and life😊❤
Friends and family can be frenemies 😢
XoXo🎉
last sentence is so true well said boss
An acoustic version of Sunflowers with piano and violins? Are you kidding me? Austin, are you kidding me?! Stunning.
He did something brilliant, which was to make the sound really *big* even though it's acoustic. So it's a really warm sound, instead of desperate or lonely. They're all breakup songs.
They have been with him this tour, he has performed with a live band, including the classical instruments. It was fantastic.
Absolutely georgous
😊
So Humble 🎉

Post Malone is the human version of a golden retriever.

😂
My favourite comment ever ❤
Boring as fck then.
Crush
NPR Tiny Desk is such a humble setting for artists; it makes one appreciate their humanity and commonality.
Post is the best of the modern bunch by far the way he changes up musical genres ✌️ ❤️ 🥊 🏴
It helps that he appears to be a pretty grounded guy just about everywhere I see him. I loved his recent interview with Zane Lowe.
@neilwood8794 Small minds would view it that way.
A very diplomatic way of shitting on Posty!
@FrankDavalosnot at all
Never apologize for having a rough voice when doing this style of music, it adds character and depth to the song.
“This song is about a square….it’s called circles” how could you not love this man??
And this is the first time I realized it is what me and my wife went thru ….🫨
Agreed🥹
I do love him.
He amazes in a cool way
U need to get out more love
I fall apart - hit different without autotune. The raw emotion in his voice and his semi-introverted personality - Post has to be one of the coolest, most down to earth people on the planet!
from what I wanted to hear, he nailed it without it and it didnt even sound different.
It's HORRIBLE
@detroyt232323was it?? really?
@detroyt232323 are you suggesting he was going to sound off despite being in tour??
@gibbleway lol don't feel the trolls, they won't respond anyways

i love you
Let's get this to top comment
Doin the lords work right here 🎉

He’s like the Keanu Reeves of music. Very humble, and really seems to understand, and appreciate his audience.
Love this
You mean Kenue Reeves is the post Malone of the acting world
Keanu bro Keanu
@AbhishekSharma-hp8xf Thanks!
@kylegonzalez5842 Keanu was born earlier, so he wins this round.
“To play a wrong note is insignificant, to play without passion is inexcusable” -Ludwig Van Beethoven.
beautiful
The keenest analogy Ive read in a long time.
The version of I Fall Apart was on another level. The lyrics cut so much deeper sung in such a "raw" state. Goosebumps.
Yeah the song is good, but then you hear this version ans you really feel it for the first time
More like a battle cry. Visceral.
I loved “I fall apart” before but when I heard this one… OmG!! I’m forever a fan of Post Malone.
The violins put it on a whole other level
Couldn’t agree more. A surprise stat from this concert, in my opinion.
Lost boy you are with me, in this Post Malone moment - if you can return to earth even for a listen - his music still plays as beautiful as you Nico, for you my son
So great to hear his real voice. It's not even close to perfect, but it's raw, organic, and most importantly human.
And it's even better that he's doin so well with a strained throat because he's doing his tour 😁
"Perfect" is subjective. Post's voice is perfect, becasue it's his tone. No one else's.
@sqlevolicious fr fr
Here here 🎉
You've just described a perfect voice tho lol See your own comment, my friend!
Seeing someone with so much fame yet so much humility is a wonderful thing
He’s not that famous
@Christina0925ok Christina 😂😂
@Christina0925¿?
@Christina0925he definitely is
This rendition of "I Fall Apart" is absolutely perfect. Blown away
I don’t like Post, and have made a point not to listen to his music, but this hits hard.
@japlunkett6789 his newest album is great. It's much more toned down than his first 3. I would highly recommend giving it a listen. Make it a point to try all types of music!
Dude sang almost the whole thing out of tune, what are you even talking about lol
I'm sobbing!
@thingsofinterest603 🤓
only happy person in the music industry atm
😊
tiny desk concerts are my morning coffee, love me some posty 🫶
bro what up youtube
Hi ❤
youtube calls him posty and has auto capitalization turned off.
Underrated comment
Love me some dislike viewer count but you guys took that joy away from us 😞
My mom passed away on the 8th of August this month. She was 60 and absolutely loved Post Malone. Her favorite song was Sunflower. I know she would’ve loved this.
Watch it one more time for her. I promise you will feel her energy wrap around you like a blanket. Sending you love
❤❤❤
I’m so sorry for your loss and hope the song brings you good memories and comfort. ❤
So sorry for your loss. I am 62 and am huge fan of Post. May his beautiful voice and music bring you comfort and remind of all the beautiful memories that will always be with you. ❤
That’s so beautiful! I’m in love with this song all over again too & I’m an old lady 😂
Mad respect for not lowering the tuning despite his vocal strain from touring. What a great performance by Post and all the other musicians!
Yes, he is definitely struggling at the beginning, almost out of tune
was just gonna say this. dude pulls his weight for sure.
@Eprado30412000 he was def rough round the edges whole set. Feel bad for him dude needs rest
Dude needs to stop smoking :(@laserbeamlightning
that too. alcohol isn't good for the throat as well.
Wow a full album from Post Malone in this style would be great
fr. need
And tour!
Check his new album. Same vibe
He just released exactly what you’re asking for
@jwoods2715just listened to most of it. It like it... but it's not as raw as this performance. And that's when I enjoy Post the most (didn't mean for that to rhyme lol)
Shoutout to whoever did the arrangements on these songs because they’re PHENOMENAL! Same with the audio engineering!!
I was thinking the same thing!! The arrangements were incredible. I'm sure they arranged it and rehearsed it like once too lol.
Sound is always on point on tiny desk!
@yourtailorisapunkI always like to think the books help, lol
Thank you!
His energy in between the songs, his talking. It makes me think of Mac’s tiny desk. Gives off the same positive vibe
Same
Nobody can touch Macs Tiny Desk but Post gave it a good shot.
@TheFifthOfNovember93he was comparing the vibes, not the performance.
Dude
you can see macs hat at start in the back
The ads in the middle of each songs should be criminal for reals
Whoever mixed this did a phenomenal job!
their engineer is incredible. the howard stern show has probably the best live performance engineering I've ever heard oddly enough, worth looking up post's performances there as well
Ikr sound is actually incredible
The unsung heroes
Especially micing all these singers and musicians in such close proximity isn't easy and get good results
@Cruz0083 whats cool is the shelving background that is behind them with all the books probably helps with that tremendously. Naturally dampening
0:01 Sunflower - I'm not nervous at all actually
4:18 I Fall Apart - How bout them Cowboys?
8:28 Circles - This song is about a square
13:17 Enough is Enough - This song is off the new album ... and therefor I will sing it for you guys today, or attempt to
Thank you so much
Thank you for your service. ✌🏼💚
Love it❤

Definitely the most unexpected Tiny Desk Concert I’ve seen. Unsurprisingly though he killed it! You’re a king Austin
GWAR and Cypress Hill were on recently too. Didn't see those coming.
TPain did one of the best of all time
this guy’s ego has been blown up enough
Over gwar? Cmon bro…
Juvenile!!!
Gotta love a musician who’s band and singers look like they represent the world 🤗🥰
Man even with his voice giving out and breaking he decided to do this mid tour
That’s so insane what an incredible talent
He sounded like dogshit
I want to thank him for his service
Post inspires me.. My parents said if i get 40K followers They'd buy me a professional camera for recording..begging u guys , literally
Begging...
His voice isn’t giving out
Dude can’t sing
He’s still cool, it still has a wicked punk rock vibe, but dude can’t sing
@Donovan_Shmanovanhe’s a cool dude and even he says he sucks at singing and that’s why without autotune he would never been known
His entire band smiling while he's talking, you can tell they all really love him. What a sweet guy 💌

Obsessed with this version of I Fall Apart; I come back to it all the time ❤
SAME !!!!
😊Same here, that was my Christmas time most favourite Tiny desk concert ❤ and I'm back again.
He should definitely record an acoustic album. Love this version of sunflower
I’m dying for that as a studio version!!!!
I keep listening to this. My daughter walks in the room, "Are you listening to that again?!"😊
You can tell his voice really is shredded from tour, but still still hits the notes. Makes it more raw 🔥
They also record/film these SUUUUPER early, I think like 6 or 7 am?
Wish they would have done it when his voice was fresh but still great
Hits the notes? U deaf?
Chris Cornell live at AOL vibes for sure
Its because this doesn't have autotune, he always sings like this but the autotune covers it up.
This is by far one of my favorite NPR… and there’s some hella good ones too. Acoustic Sunflowers took that song to a new level. We need more like this… Austin Post come back for another Tiny Desk!!
These arrangements made me love these songs all over again in a completely different way. This is why I love Tiny Desk.
The lil desk doing what it do!¡!
When people ask me what kind of music I listen to, I say “Tiny Desk”
It’s become a cliche thing to say, but watch his Joe Rogan podcast appearances. I’ll be honest I had a completely different idea of what he’d be like as a person but he’s super interesting!
I went to one of his concerts recently and he was thanking his crew and shouting out everyone that was performing on stage with him every chance he got. He honestly was the most humble performer I’ve ever seen.
@owen2431 I'll take your word for it. Not going to give Rogan any other views.

From not knowing his music at all to watching this, i now love his music. Very humble
exactly🙂
whoever mixed this deserves like 10 grammys this was incredible
Seriously, all that in such a small space is a nightmare, but wow, that sounded great!
@hairbradschmidt513 idk if you will see this but it looks like a DPA 4099 CORE mic
@dudedude8998I see it. Thank you so much. Made my day. Take good care of yourself and stay healthy. Best wishes.
Posty deserves all the love and respect that comes his way as he gives it back that much more!
@alex-ia944 Reading this comment wasted my time
@afender7 Well fortunately I'm not a professional commenter (if that's even a thing hihi) but this sweat heart of a man is a professional artist 😳
THIS IS SO GOOD! His natural voice is just incredible and filled with passion. I want a full album with it.
Jon Sandman, seeing you here really hit me with a bunch of Rocket League nostalgia, used to chill while watching you do openings
ok fair enough he is post molone crazy artist and perfomer, i listen to his music from time to time... but if you listen to the first minute with your eyes closed..
His new album is more natural, love it
I swear Post Malone is the embodiment of love
the sound engineers at NPR need Grammies asap
Sound is so clean
this and the ones at KEXP. They are def top of their fields
True That
Yes. Been recording music for 30+ years and am always really impressed with mix and just love it!
I didn't know this arrangement of Sunflower was something I needed in my life. That was incredible.
Preach
I feel like Molly Tuttle does a good cover worth hearing also.
Totally, bro!
Country sunflower
He sounds bad
Post Malone is the perfect example of not judging a book by its cover.
yes!
Best comment
What’s wrong with his cover??
@Squatchygalmainly the ppl who just see his tattoos
@Squatchygal I personally only heard bits and pieces of his earlier stuff but didn't think much of it...then I saw his Nirvana session during Covid and did a complete 180 on his abilities and how grounded he is. Then stuff like this only cements things. I wish he performed with a full band more often.
Add in a lot of stuff with him having pure genuine interactions with fans and it's pretty obvious he's not just good, he's needed.
“My voice is balls right now”
proceeds to sing an album-level set
Everyone on Tiny Desk is always so joyful. Something about what you folks built over there is cultivating some real positive vibes.
God bless you posty.
idk if they were selected with intent, seems like top hits but i get what you're saying
Your opinion wasn't the point of her comment was it ..
@marioarchuleta8723 You're*
@lu_cien_1It’s “Your opinion” not “You are opinion”. 😉
@dragmatic no its not learn grammer
Songs:
00:00 Sunflower
03:26 Posty intro
04:16 I Fall Apart
08:13 Circles
13:01 Enough is Enough
17:14 Posty says Thanks
Thank you. I wanted an acoustic White Iverson. You saved me so much time! Don't gotta watch this now.
@programme9363Im sayin!
@programme9363 it's almost as if he's trying to forget his past. He lost the weight, the braids, wont play his old stuff...
@@XnewytslavesX?
@ricky7973he plays his old stuff at his concerts. Spend some money and go see him.
anyone here on mothers day
Me . 💛💛💛👋
That rendition of Sunflower felt like a 1970s summer classic
So much better than the original that it hurts.
Tiny desk performances should be a Grammy award class on its own.
Seriously they keep me sane
Anderson Paak and Mac and Post in top 10 for sure
@marcusfoto Alicia Keys & Coldplay aswell.
Absolutely
I think It doesn't need to be competitive. Let's just enjoyed it this way..
The only bad thing about artist doing this while on tour is the strain on the voice. Singing every night and then having to do your best take of these songs mid day is tough. Bring him back so he can do these songs justice. He deserves it!
I actually liked it for the imperfection
@foome36 He was struggling pretty bad. It doesn’t seem like it but he was literally singing at the top of his lungs. This is the worst feeling ever as a singer. Any singers out there know how tough it is. I respect posty for keeping it G tho
fall apart... should a crime listen to this acoustic version after a break up 😞
Post has been working so incredibly hard. I hope when is tour is over he takes some much deserved time to rest and enjoy all of his hard work
Agreed , I saw him in Boston and Hartford. 110% put in at every show that he performs.
His voice is a bit shredded, but it matches his music.
I love tiny desk concerts because a musician cannot hide. It's only their voice and their music laid bare. You passed the test in my opinion Posty. Good on ya.
Just when I had same thoughts after singing along, I read your comment. He did so great.
uhhh what? he has like 70 people up there backing him up. thats the most ive ever seen in a tiny desk concert. hes ridiculously hidden.
Smokes too much, you can hear it I’m his vocals.
We used to call these Unplugged
His back singers aren't assisting at all in dangerous territory. Stop hating @MrHeart12
Imma need more full band/no autotune Post Malone music. This is where he truly shines.
This
100%, we need to Posty Folk Album asap. He's done a bunch of cool "country" covers on tiktok and his voice is just MADE for it. His collaboration with Noah Kahan hopefully bears that out at some point soon.
100% still autotune :/ sorry fam
💯
@Jord471 100% not lol. Even autotune wouldnt miss this many notes. But that's the point, humans dont have 100% accuracy - it has its own charm. And he certainly does NOT have 100% accuracy here.
The NPR versions hit different than the originals. Wish there're available on Spotify.
We need an MTV unplugged next. That was phenomenal. My expectations were blown out of this world.
Tiny desk is basically the modern MTV unplugged. I just wish the sets were a little longer.
@cosmiccomedy13c literally
@cosmiccomedy13cI just had this thought
I'm in my 30s too😂
@ophiolatreia93hahahahahaha
I love Post's career. He hasn't lost his hip hop roots but he's also clearly not afraid to experiment and expand his sound
IIRC his rooty roots are in rock. Which makes it pretty clear that he's not afraid to experiment with his sound.
Lol he was never hip hop.
i was going to say. Post is a rocker that enjoys a blend in his music@coalitionofseekers9572
like half his songs would beg to differ@coalitionofseekers9572
@coalitionofseekers9572someone that’s never listened to stoney before clearly
Not even a Post fan but this was truly amazing.
You should check out his lockdown Nirvana cover concert he streamed a couple years ago
@Proutt Thankyou, I'll be sure to do that
These tiny desk concerts can almost take on a tribal feel
How can someone hate this man? He is the most wholesome and friendly dude someone can ever meet. Can't give him enough credits
Wholesome? He’s a thief who stole 20 million in taxpayer pandemic relief money meant for small businesses. People lost their businesses and employees lost jobs because Post Malone and Chris Brown rigged the system to fill their own pockets while so many people struggled to survive, he is anything but wholesome!
Cause his music sucks now
meh, let's not get carried away... he grabbed $10M in covid "emergency" relief
@daveylives meant for people who need it and he spent the money on a new house when he already owns a dozen. You’re a disgusting excuse for a human if you think it’s ok for the wealthy to steal from the poor and needy.
huh?!@daveylives
I hope this session brings him the courage to do a record without electronics and autotune. He is gifted. The World needs an Austin Acoustic record. ❤
It kind of sounds like you see those things as a crutch or something, when they’re just part of his sound. An acoustic album would be cool, but there’s nothing wrong with electronic music or auto tune. It’s just another tool in a musicians toolkit
Look up his nirvana cover set
@Radarssbm yeah... but it ruins the purity of it all . He is doing very well i think :D its just that Feeling that his music would be richer without electronics
@TheChronicCasterbator its amazing
Not only does he always look like hes enjoying himself, the people playing with him look like they're truly enjoying themselves as well
You know its good when the band cant stop smiling.
@jordancruz9072maybe because they are getting paid a few thousand of dollars?
@jordancruz9072 you know it's good when it's the most racially diverse group of people in one room lol. Truly hand picked. Other than that, this was amazing 👏
@MartinoFeliznot all of them do this though man. Some look so stressed or exhausted. They look genuinely happy in there on this session!
I picked up on that as well. They seem to enjoy playing music with Post.
It's really driving me nuts how much better this is than any of the official album versions. Post Malone, you seem like a real nice guy. Could you get this band back together and record all of your songs like this? That would be amazing
Almost all live performances are better. As long as the artist has sufficient talent. :) Wonderful!
This should be an album :)
I wanna hear an acoustic version of Chemical ;__; ♥♥
At this point, you're just lying.
Don't be shy boy, you got it goin on!
Bass players smile is everything. This was such a wholesome performance. Congrats to all musicians involved
Cuz we live in the present yo!
Bass player was with Katie Holmes for a bit. Lots to smile about ;)😊
@EshockT Why
Isn't it a wooten?
@luryas626 not related lol
That version of “I fall apart” was insane. I need a single asap.
Dang these song give me goosebumps. So incredible
I love his voice. Wish he'd do a whole acoustic album.
His old RUclips account from when he was in HS is still up and it's mostly acoustic guitar stuff
YES!!!!
It needs to happen
Where do i find that? @tartuffethespry
he did a great one in Rome.. search for PostMalone Rome concert.. is about 40 mins long.. its amazing and so personal, small crowd, amazing vibes
There is something just magic about NPR. Like a big class project and everyone did the homework and the whole team knocks it out of the park every time. Would love to hear all the artists say what NPR means to them.
That is such a great description
all the times that we got used to the world trying to sell us ever more useless sh:t & then one day we hear a gem that cuts straight thru our fences
Yes.
defo no autotune cos u can hear all the imperfections
who's Bob?
He doesnt have a good voice but he makes it work.
It's better than perfect. It's genuine. It's honest. Never been a fan of him but this is crazy.
@johnfinn6367pretty sure he’s the producer/tech guy at NPR for these concerts, remember hearing Hobo Johnson mentioning his name a while back!
Who else noticed that the bassist is the same one from Sabrina Carpenter's Tiny Desk? I don’t know who that man is, but I’m happy to see him doing so well!
Came here just for that😊
Bobby Wooten III
@lynncupit18 mf a king but also a bassist in his free time
Yeah, he‘s s feel good manager. Always smiling…😊
austin’s voice is blasted from tour and still sounds amazing, what a performance. everyone was class
Post, the musicians and back up singers 🤌💋
It did sound a little rough let's be real
@RyDoggonus nah lol you can be edgy if you want tho
@DeonLechino Ok fan boy
@RyDoggonus you’re so different lad we are all impressed
I don’t listen to pop music, let alone Post Malone, but I’m just drawn to him as a person. What a great guy he is. Amazing character and a breath of fresh air.
Me too I don’t like any pop stuff but am drawn to certain people as people not for their music
Totally agree. I can’t believe I watched that entire video. He’s an interesting dude for sure. Good concert!
Give his first album a listen, Stoney. I don't listen to any of the newer stuff but Stoney is just too good to skip out on.
Well said. Think the same way!
We really could use more people like Posty in this world. He really seems like the most content, wholesome, chill person on earth.
I love Post Malone. Def one of the GREATEST Artists of all time.
Bass players smile was infectious. Dude was stoked the whole way through, I almost get the feeling they did very little rehearsals and he was impressed/grateful at how organic and spontaneous the whole jam played out
Yasss for the the bass player comment!
Doesn’t matter how well you sing, it’s how you sing it.
Of course. He's not a great singer, but his delivery and style is attractive and pleasing. If you can entertain and have charismatic qualities, you don't need to be that good of a singer at all.
@Irondrgntp i think he is a great singer, but at the moment not in the best moment. hangover vibes (or exhaustive tour)
He’s actually a pretty good singer. I think it’s all the smoking he does tho that’s damaging his voice
It's all the singing guys lol he's on tour
Pause_Tee_916so why are you here? Troll. I always picture some hateful depressed loser when I read comments like this
How do you not like him? He’s so sweet and humble.
@BootcutJeans619 If that were true he wouldnt be anywhere near as popular or successful as he is
@BootcutJeans619 "most people"?? he's wildly popular right now and that doesn't happen unless most people enjoy the music
@BootcutJeans619, you're not most people, you're just you.
You are so right I wish there were more like him and in my 61 years of listening to all types of music he is one of a kind his parents must be so proud of what he has achieved so far ,🐈 Australia
@oood459 you ain't got a scoppy doo mate. Jealously gets you no where 😂
I simply love this stream 😍
THIS needs to be put on vinyl. And the sound engineer needs an Emmy or something...
@nullstr-k6v ikr! The Mac Miller session is being put on vinyl, so this can probably be done too
we BEEN saying this... that man is top tier
I ordered the Mac Miller NPR Tiny Desk Concert on vinyl... I'd LOVE to have this.
I've listened to Sunflower, rewinded, listened to it again probably 250 times now. Better than the master.
S.E is on point!
Talk about being vulnerable and compassionate. Not only did Posty take time during his surely busy tour schedule to perform this for us but he also did it with a severely strained voice and a smile. What a performer. What an artist. What a human 💚
The sound engineering is immaculate. Big ups to the sound engineers at NPR Tiny Desk!
So true! They did a phenomenal job! You could look at a certain instrument or singer and hear them so clearly, like it was the only thing playing.
thank you!!
Absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite NPR Tiny Tesk Concert ever.
18 minutes of Posty just isn't enough, you'll just have to bring him back NPR Music
i couldn’t agree more ❤️
When his voice gets back. Guess you haven’t seen him live
❤Such A Gifted Gentleman❤❤😊😊
Oh yeah you act like you know him and everything clown
I am a big NPR fan and Always put Austin’s work aside since it didn’t fit my genre. After this little session I’m proud to say NPR brought me Post Malone . 🎉
