Ok, I have about 80-100,000 unloved cards that I acquired while hunting for the 1990 Topps 'Blackless bunch'... most junk wax but a healthy dose of modern and some vintage... Will gladly ship to Denmark...
Just got back from the Atlanta show. Discussed my fathers estate collection with many collectors/dealers. I was surprised at the disinterest. I didn't state a price and was only gauging interest and willing to accept offers. I am sensible but it seems like the modern card market dominates.
Nice Work Chris . That was an excellent breakdown of the cards and the values . I guessed $250 you paid . I was close lol . Keep the content coming! POW 👊
Great video. Generally, if you have complete sets of 70s and 80s baseball in mid grade, is it better to keep the set together to sell rather than break up, such as star lots for example?
Gr8 video and content Chris.. You have got to be one of the best and honest guys I've ever witnessed on the tube.. Very good deal for both parties involved.. Love the 72topps Billy Martin giving the bird..😂😜 I would like to get a deal done with the GOAT one day soon.. Well done.. Stay safe homie..👍💕🔥⚾🇺🇸😷
I'd have bought all that junk wax Cal Ripken. That's my only baseball PC player. I've never even seen that Collectors set of his. I'm gonna have to look that up
Could you consider doing an intermediate level collector info video on what are rookie cards in soccer and nascar, and then maybe just other sports like Olympics, swimming, etc. ? If there are no set rules for a given sport, you should propose the rules and see if they catch on. I'm primarily thinking of soccer and it's not exactly clear what card is the rookie given how players rise up and other unique issues, how works cup national teams were pinnacle, etc. I think having a clear rookie card would be a good thing to help people get into it.
ok 15:18 wow ... so ive been collecting and using toploaders for 35 years and to get a card out I always have to try and pound the bottom of the loader and like pull it out as carefully as I can and I always hate doing that because im afraid im going to pull it out wrong or bend it accidentally ... wow I can not believe I never knew this trick. today I grabbed a top loader with a card in it held it and took my other wrist and pounded the other wrist like he did in the video and BAMMMMM that card popped right out I can not believe I never knew this!!!! this is a MUCH more safer way of getting the card out not having to worry about damaging it accidentally.
I have 1956 Topps Mantel, Koufax, Mays,Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron,Ted Williams I’d estimate they would grade PSA 2-3 give or take a .5. Would you grade? I’m thinking I’d just like them slabbed to keep them safer. I was thinking SGC for the price.
Chris, I really enjoyed watching your process of filtering this collection. Have you done videos of going through people's collections and suggesting which you should grade and which cards are not worth grading? I'm in that position where I am considering getting cards graded but still unsure. I would love to see move videos on selecting which cards to get graded. HOF rookies, which seems obvious. How about reprinted cards with original backings? Thanks!
Seems pretty fair to me but really what I got from this vid is that you really have to think do I just wana collect make money or enjoy the hobby? how much work do u wana put in ? This made me think of my hotwheels hobby that collection changes quite a bit
Love your vid as I have jumped back in to the card game after years of card collecting silence. I found a jordan 1990 fleer with a double print error and was wondering if you have come across one of these???
Modern vs vintage just refers to how old it is. I use 1980 as the cutoff but its arbitrary. For me, pre-1980 is vintage and 1981 to present is modern. The term "star" is also arbitrary. Refers to a star player.
Even though it is worth very little, I loved seeing the Justice Upper Deck RC top loaded as he is my favorite player. I actually picked up a PSA 10 of his 1990 Leaf RC for about $40 total. Probably overpaid but love having a 10. Great video as usual!

Just got back from the Atlanta show. Discussed my fathers estate collection with many collectors/dealers. I was surprised at the disinterest. I didn't state a price and was only gauging interest and willing to accept offers. I am sensible but it seems like the modern card market dominates.
A lot of dealers don't know much about vintage and so really aren't interested for that reason. But vintage still has a strong base.
@@collectorinvestordealer Thank you.
Great video!
On a side note, I'd be interestred in the Lenny Dykstra cards and the 1970-1975 football commons :)
Why can't everyone in the hobby be like you??
Hey Chris i need that 51 redback for my set.....Look's to be in great condition....
Nice Work Chris . That was an excellent breakdown of the cards and the values . I guessed $250 you paid . I was close lol . Keep the content coming! POW 👊
This boxes contained cello packs. They used to have a box around them back in the day.
that 72 billy martin you puy in vintage pint is cool he's giving everyone the middle finger on the bat he is leaning on
This was an interesting & fun watch. Thanks!
Great video. Generally, if you have complete sets of 70s and 80s baseball in mid grade, is it better to keep the set together to sell rather than break up, such as star lots for example?
If they are mid grade, I would generally recommend keeping it a complete set, whether you want to keep it or sell it
Gr8 video and content Chris..
Thank you as always Jackie!
Chris, I was curious about the value of the Tiger card in the group. His prices seem to be moving up. Great as always.
kinda funny, the same day that you posted this video, Goldin Auctions made a tweet highlighting that JFK Relic card!
Thats a good idea for a video, I will consider that.
ok 15:18 wow ... so ive been collecting and using toploaders for 35 years and to get a card out I always have to try and pound the bottom of the loader and like pull it out as carefully as I can and I always hate doing that because im afraid im going to pull it out wrong or bend it accidentally ... wow I can not believe I never knew this trick. today I grabbed a top loader with a card in it held it and took my other wrist and pounded the other wrist like he did in the video and BAMMMMM that card popped right out I can not believe I never knew this!!!! this is a MUCH more safer way of getting the card out not having to worry about damaging it accidentally.
Very cool! Happy to hear that
Excellent video as always.
Cool stuff Chris always love me some RRs stories 😀 ☕
awesome video showing the process!
Yeah, I agree. SGC is probably the best option at the moment.
A more than fair offer on your part. You're about to be bombarded with collections for sale. 🤣
awesome video chris, for sure do more of these if you can
Chris, I really enjoyed watching your process of filtering this collection. Thanks!
Appreciate that! Great idea for a video, I'll be doing more videos like this and might include grading thoughts as well.
Seems pretty fair to me but really what I got from this vid is that you really have to think do I just wana collect make money or enjoy the hobby? how much work do u wana put in ? This made me think of my hotwheels hobby that collection changes quite a bit
Love the brake down. Most sellers like you said would pass on these,or would pay $50.
50 bucks FOH
Totally enjoyed watching this 👌interesting. I would love to see more if you are able to😁TC
Thank you as always! I may make this a regular feature.
Love your vid as I have jumped back in to the card game after years of card collecting silence. I found a jordan 1990 fleer with a double print error and was wondering if you have come across one of these???
Great breakdown. Very interesting
What makes something a modern versus vintage and what makes a star? Is a star just someone well-known?
Modern vs vintage just refers to how old it is. I use 1980 as the cutoff but its arbitrary. For me, pre-1980 is vintage and 1981 to present is modern.
The term "star" is also arbitrary. Refers to a star player.
Looks like the leftovers of what was a nice collection.
Awesome video as always Chris!!🤟💪💪
Even though it is worth very little, I loved seeing the Justice Upper Deck RC top loaded as he is my favorite player. I actually picked up a PSA 10 of his 1990 Leaf RC for about $40 total. Probably overpaid but love having a 10.
Great video as usual!
I was actually a big Justice fan as well. In the 90s, often the only MLB games you could watch were the Braves on TBS.
@@collectorinvestordealer Yep, that is was led me to being a Braves fan and Justice fan. One of my friends was a Cubs fan and they were always on WGN, so I had to pick the rival I guess.
Fun times 😂 lots of history .. no big boys 😎
