Seriously... I know he made the purchase for more views, subscribers and to make some money from the break of selling of the set. But its Ted Williams, at least mention it lol
It’s funny because we hear your voice and you sound like a very calm and respectful young man but when we see what you look like and you look like a big mean aggressive tough guy lol No disrespect JABS You know we all love ya buddy it’s just we hear you day after day and you sound like a humble respectful polite young man. And your always so polite and respectful and always sound like you are always in great mood. HEY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES
Damn man!!! I just now realized that I was not dreaming!!! Seeing is Believing!!!This movie was off the hook!!! Yeah buddy - Saginaw was in the House with you bro!!!
Gotta give props to you Jabs. Of all the nationals videos out there yours is the best because you provide commentary on footage you record yourself so it comes across focused and well edited. Also Ike’s art is amazing. Even had me interested in some players I’m not even a hardcore fan of like that jerry rice wow
I was just thinking about how much better it was with the voice over. 99% of the video from the national is kinda chaotic to watch with poor audio and so much background noise
Hahaha, your brother just picked up that exact 62 Topps Whitey Ford League Leaders on Sunday... I guess he bought a partial 62 Topps set and now he's trying to complete it.. Pretty funny how you guy bought the same exact card only a couple of days apart, lol.
reminds me of the shows I went to in the 80s and 90s...buying 49 Campy, 55 Koufax, 59 Gibson and stuffing the cards in my pocket (carefully)...buying a T205 Matty for $25 and a complete 1965 Topps set (ex-m) for $125...and sending auto requests and getting 2 page letters/responses from Waite Hoyt, Smoky Joe Wood, George Uhle, Stan Coveleski, Joe Sewell and Bill Wambganss..Hoyt talked about Ruth and Fred Lieb, the others talked about Ray Chapman
Great footage. I like the fact you film then dub over top as opposed to just live footage. Wow awesome pick up! Great investment and something cool to pass on to the kids
Wow!!!!!! $30,000 on cards😳😳😳 Lucky you🤩🤩 That is a price of a decent vehicle😎😎😎 Happy you were able to do that. I am lucky I could even spend $300 right now🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 Thanks for sharing the trip!!!!!! Peter- Ga
Thank you as always wish I could have been there. That was a very smart purchase. The mantle almost could sell for the whole purchase. Mantle and vintage will always go up and new stuff up n down. Looks like the whole family had a great time.
I was there Thursday too! Enjoyed the video, I stopped and shopped at some of the same tables :-) Loved the National, can't wait til next years. Also looking forward to your throwback Thursday with the 51 Bowman. I'm in for a spot of two.
Believe it or not, my fav card in that set is the Dr. Bobby Brown card. Dude was an absolute underrated legend. Veteran of 2 wars, 4X world series champ, became a doctor, and then president of the National League lmfao. Insane.
Such a great visual informative video. Omg how do u know so much about baseball. Have u ever made a video of all the vintage underrated cards to look for
Congrats on the purchase....but just an observation....they didn't have baseball card binders in 1951 so they could not have been stored in one since then....i'm an old guy and if my memory serves me....baseball card sleeves / binders did not come out until around the mid 70's
@@stepinthebox1945 Of course most people can’t afford that, it’s just that the 2011 topps showcase is a business strategy for the most part. Sure maybe some breaker or high roller will take interest but it’s an attention attractor. This hobby is all profit and pump/dump now, full of opportunists who won’t care about in a couple years, and since 2019 topps series 2 is what people think will be the next 2011 topps update (it won’t) so there all storing it up.
Amazing pickup! Congrats! My two boys and I were there on Friday and Saturday. Great convention. So many cool people to talk with. We would have loved to have seen you and say hi! The Ripping Vintage Wax guys are legit. You’ll enjoy their stuff.
There were some amazing cards there, but it also shows how much some people hoard/corner the market on certain ones. That's why the rest of us can't ever get some of them haha. Newer cards are nice and all, but for me the older vintage cards are *THE* investment to make. Much more scarce and there's just so much history. The cards just have, for lack of a better word, souls. When I see those cards it makes me think of walking into my LCS as a kid and looking at all the stuff in the display counters. And it's great to see you taking the kids there and letting them experience that. Baseball cards are so Americana. Great memories to be had at a place like that.
Thanks Eric I’ll probably never get a chance to go, living up here in Canada so, Thanks for the video. Big shout out Bear hug to Heather and the kiddos.
Sorry to hear your quest for a Mantle did not go as planned but, at least you got an excellent buy on the entire set of 51. The main thing is you enjoyed the nationals and, had your family with you. I usually do similar walks through these shows and, never expect to get what I'm looking for. It usually turns out better than having my sights set on any cards, I normally don't buy cases from shows that are unopened even authentic can prove disappointing because you don't really know if they were unsearched, the rack packs always work out better for me. I found some really great cards in rack pack because they are normally in better shape: maybe because they have that plastic over them. When I buy rack packs, I never buy any that are slightly bends in any pack or if the cards look like they move too much because you take a chance on getting bent corners. The cases may seem safer because the cardboard protects the cards better but,......? We all know you take a chance. I thank you for the video, good luck on finding or your quest for your Mantle, here it's 2024 and, I beleive your quest still continues????
@@CranstonSandwich no one. It's just that this stuff is absurdly expensive. But hey he just dropped 30K on the set in this video, maybe he has it. Crazy how a 51 set goes less than some RCs of some modern players.
Yeah it makes no sense at all
Yea, it's criminal.
I can't get over the fact that a psa one mantle rookie sells for 15 to 20 grand

One crazy thing. I saw more 2011 Topps Update than 2019 Topps Series 2.

2011 topps is an eye-grabber so they put it prominently on display. Most people buy the tatis rookie has a single but people like ripping 2011
