This sure seems like a commercial hyping up sealed products by a person who has a known stash of sealed products, an attempt to counteract the drop in sealed prices due to CT scanning.
Many of these are in landfills. After all, there once was a time when kids just opened cards, in search of their favorite players, without the risk of developing pre-pubescent gambling addictions.

You can trim a card that was graded a 9 with BGS, rub off some ink on the auto which got a 9, submit the card to PSA and it will come back a PSA 10? Good to know. 😂
I still can’t figure out how he trimmed that much of the Soto card off and passed it off as normal size. Both cards in the side by side fit the slab perfectly and you can see he took a considerable amount off of the top. Doesn’t add up

You must be super rich! Instead of buying stocks or bonds you would buy wax at already inflated prices and sit on a 7-8 figure card instead of selling it and making money on an investment? Surely your shoe box full of cardboard will outpace inflation, real-estate, and the stock market.
What about the 2014 Prizm Messi Black 1/1? I thought that card had never been pulled. It would be 10x bigger than some of the cards you included on this list.
my card collection - nearly 100,000 at one time - survived two house plumbing disasters. Total fluke that not a single card was wrecked despite the wreckage elsewhere in the house.
This happened to me in 2014 when my parents house burnt down when I was in college. I had all kinds of jordan cards, muiltple 86 fleer rookies, tons of griffey jr cards, and pokemon galore 2 1st edition charizard shadowless, along with multiple base charizards, some of the Japanese set. Sucks. When I seen all the prices these cards where going for during the pandemic i nearly cried. I got away from the hobby after the fire but have slowly started collecting again. Watching my childhood go up in smoke losing everything took a toll on me just years of memories I'll never get back.
I know it’s a very early but I’m surprised you didn’t bring up Paul Skenes. The Pirates organization are offering a huge “bounty” if his auto Debut 1/1 is found. Tickets, autographed jerseys, meet and greet with Paul himself, just to name a few.
I'd love to see if videos like this from industry insiders / influencers have a direct effect on the market for these sets. Does their value spike temporarily as people suddenly get more or re interested in these cards and trying to pull one of these grails themselves?
I can't even imagine pulling one of these grails - luckily I don't have a down payment on a house sitting around to blow on a box - guess I'll have to start hitting the yard sales and hoping for some binder magic...
I think many of the missing cards are in private collections. With that being said, I also think that many were never put into the product. Probably given, or sold to certain people. How easy would it be for a card company to mention a priceless card or even put a bounty on it to sell more product. It's like buying a repack hoping to get a case hit chase card that was never added, just used to promote and boost your sales. With everything that has gone on in the industry, from fakes to ct scanning, nothing is shocking anymore.
What about the Topps Now 1/1 double auto of Curry and Messi card???? Topps now needs to pump the breaks until that card and the basketball triple auto are found in my opinion.
1st card sold for sure, graded lvl8 sold at auction for 180k. The original owner had it for many years before making it public. There is a show on Netflix about a collectable auction house that talks about it

But life got in the way and we moved on but he recently passed away and I found some old boxes 1989 bowman 1990 upper deck 1990 fleer and others. Are they worth anything please let me know since you are an expert. Thank you

I was 14 when EX-2001 came out, and no way in hell my parents would have bought me a box of those or Metal Universe, so I doubt many 12 year olds opened those. Everything else is newer within the last decade, so the only 1 on this list that I think was maybe opened & lost by a teenager would be the Betts, because that parallel was too much like the base card.
I lost over 1 million cards, plus a lot of memorabilia, die-cast, action figures, etc, in Katrina. Everything was flooded. Most of the cards were in monster boxes. Even the screwdowns got water in them. I had 57 Jordan Fleer rookies. Even damaged, I couldn't throw it all out. House fire in 2010 took care of it permanently. It's possible that some of these cards were destroyed in natural disasters or fires. It's also possible a kid not knowing much opened one and it ended up getting torn up. OR they could be sitting in packs somewhere.
The 90’s cards were probably pulled back in the day and either sitting in a private collection OR in a collection that has disappeared over the years. I recently bought a collection from the family of a card shop owner who closed shop about 15 years ago and just filled his basement. There are thousands of 90’s inserts and hundreds of wax boxes along with years of singles.
Every time I dig up my old cards and look through them I find something that I didn't notice was rare or didn't know was worth putting in a case. I'm willing to bet most of these cards were pulled by people who have no idea what they had or didn't notice a numbered variant. Probably millions sitting in boxes in the bottom of closets
The fact that PSA not only gets so upset about a card being graded wrong by them that they buy them back from the collector and lock them away is absolutely insane and ridiculous and I have no idea why any person or collector would willingly sell a business your physical possessions.
The Tom Brady baseball card probably hasnt even been released yet. The longer they keep it unreleased, the longer the set keeps some kind of value/relevancy
I think I know where some of these cards are. I have a wild/crazy story that would blow people's minds. I'm in Houston TX. I ran across one of the biggest sports cards collections EVER!!!! I had cards worth millions of dollars in my hands over 2 weeks of time. One day I'll write a book about my experience. I don't care if anyone believes me. I have pictures of certain cards that MOST people will NEVER have a chance to see in person in a lifetime, let alone see them ALL together at once. I get depressed and upset about how this "once in a lifetime" experience played out, but I've always said " it's the story of my life". I've been soooooo close to hitting THE JACKPOT, but for some reason, it doesn't happen

2 of the missing 1997 PMG GREEN Kobe Bryant #/10 are in my bosses possession in Doylestown, PA. They remain intact as a full uncut sheet, including the rest of the player's PMG GREEN #/10 cards.
