I think many of the missing cards are in private collections. With that being said, I also think that many were never put into the product. Probably given, or sold to certain people. How easy would it be for a card company to mention a priceless card or even put a bounty on it to sell more product. It's like buying a repack hoping to get a case hit chase card that was never added, just used to promote and boost your sales. With everything that has gone on in the industry, from fakes to ct scanning, nothing is shocking anymore.

I lost over 1 million cards, plus a lot of memorabilia, die-cast, action figures, etc, in Katrina. Everything was flooded. Most of the cards were in monster boxes. Even the screwdowns got water in them. I had 57 Jordan Fleer rookies. Even damaged, I couldn't throw it all out. House fire in 2010 took care of it permanently. It's possible that some of these cards were destroyed in natural disasters or fires. It's also possible a kid not knowing much opened one and it ended up getting torn up. OR they could be sitting in packs somewhere.

I have pictures of certain cards that MOST people will NEVER have a chance to see in person in a lifetime, let alone see them ALL together at once. Yeah, I agree with a bunch of other people. A lot of these cards likely have been pulled and a lot of people don’t even care to share having these cards as they become a target and could be subject to IRS.

You can't claim they have never been found. People could have pulled and don't want to announce.

2 of the missing 1997 PMG GREEN Kobe Bryant #/10 are in my bosses possession in Doylestown, PA. They remain intact as a full uncut sheet, including the rest of the player's PMG GREEN #/10 cards.
