The very first week I was with my now husband, I bled a little on his sheets (my periods are very unpredictable). He was so sweet about it, like, “it’s just a bodily function babe, you’re fine!” Just last week, 9 years later, I bled a little on our sheets. He legit tried to hide it from me and wash them before I noticed because he knows it makes me feel bad. It’s concerning to me that this poor woman is dealing with someone who treats her like that during her period. He needs to grow up.

Hi Karelly 👋🏼 I am an animal scientist and I work at an animal shelter. The best way to introduce two different cats is slowly. Yes this might be a little tough, but it will give them the best chance of slowly getting to know each other 🐾💕 1st you want them to “meet” each other first through scent (easiest way to do this is to keep the kitten in a closed room with everything she needs and give her a shirt, blanket or towel with your other kitties scent on it and vise versa) followed by them getting to next see each other. The best way is to hold your kitten and to let your other cat see her. If their body language is appropriate (no hissing, growling, pinned ears, fluffed tail etc.) then you can let them interact with each other. Mainly you just want your first cat to smell and see the kitten before they have to meet her. After all it’s a strange animal coming into their territory! Please lmk if you have any other questions and congratulations on your new fur baby 🫶
Edit: and yes janelle is right about them meeting in a neutral environment being ideal but it’s not always possible. For the litter boxes, ideally you want one for “each” cat (though they will likely both use them all) and an extra one like Kendall said 🐾
i’ve heard jackson galaxy has an amazing product you can use in the house to help them get along! i considered it for my cats, but they sorted their shit i guess.
This is all perfect advice but I get her concern about apt so I did one HUGE box and I just make sure to clean 2 tikes a day and so far so good 😅
I'm also an animal scientist and second this answer. Only thing I'll add is it's good to stretch it out over about 5-7 days in my opinion but others may disagree. Cats are more difficult than dogs to adjust to each other

I’m laughing at Jenelle‘s comment about resin stained lungs, because during Covid times my boyfriend and I never got sick despite working in a heavy tourist area and we credited it to smoking weed every day😂
There was actually a study done that showed that THC and CBD did help prevent Covid

My husband and I smoke several times daily and I dab,we managed to not get it until December of 2022, despite my 10 y/o having it in January 2022. Our whole family had it over Christmas though. My daughter wasn't to bad,just a headache and slept a lot. I was pretty sick and ended up with vertigo & my husband was super sick where he had to spend 2 days in the hospital,he also got vertigo after. So yeah,I think everyone is different, but I do feel like smoking is what kept us from catching it for so long...
Also worked as an essential worker in the height of quarantine, also still haven’t gotten it (knock on wood) and I also credit it to my 🍃habit🍃

I got pregnant after my best friend planned her wedding. Her wedding was 10/26 and I had my baby 11/2 (4 years ago) but I was adamant I would be there! I had full-blown preeclampsia but I still stood next to her as her MOH, got down on the dance floor and everyone had a great time. The thought of asking her to change her date never crossed my mind. If anything I kept assuring her I'd be there in a wheelchair if needed. I think bottom line just be supportive of each other. Marriage and babies are both big life changes!

For the grub hub driver story I’m sorry I’m with janelle on this one, I would be livid if I were that customer. I think he deserved to lose his job. It’s just unsanitary as someone who is being paid to handle food to have urine sitting anywhere near the order. He could have used the restroom when he picked up the food no?? Vet tech here. Definitely want to introduce your kitties slowly. Have blankets or towels that smell like one another for them to sniff. Let them sniff or play pawsies under the door. And SUPER IMPORTANT have Feliway diffusers around the house, especially most common areas, where they eat, where they scratch, and around litter boxes. Feliway Optimum mimics pheromones mother cats produce and cats that mark their territory through scratching and cheek rubbing. It signals it’s a safe space and eases multi-cat tension, inappropriate bathroom habits and reduces stress. Have it going at least 24 hours and make sure it isn’t under a shelf or table as it has to travel up to the ceiling to spread across space. It is completely odorless. Always have one litterbox per cat plus one and make sure they’re all in different areas. If they’re in the same room or space it’s considered one.
Sagwa is cute for a Siamese cat. Lolita is a $tripp3r name to me. Ophelia is nice but kind of common. I love theme names. If you have Jasper (a precious stone) I think you should pick another precious stone like ruby, amethyst, amber, jade, diamond etc. I’m not sure her color so maybe find a stone that incorporates one of her colors.

Imagine changing the date for the wedding because of a due date and then the baby comes early and the friend can’t come anyway. I think suggesting someone change their wedding because you’re having a baby is a bit a**hole-ish. Why put that on the bride, especially when a baby could be born any time and stuff up the plans regardless of when it is.

I'm a wedding photographer, so the wedding date story was shocking. I can guarantee most of the vendors charge a fee to change the date, and that is IF they are even available on another date. Most vendors book out 1 to 2 years in advance. To ask someone to move their wedding date is not only nearly impossible, but it would be costing the bride and groom potential rescheduling fees with their vendors. They are likely in contracts with these vendors where the date CANNOT be moved.
As someone who has ocd, she is trying to get him to go with her delusions. The best thing he can do, is not give in to her. It does suck because I used to do similar things, but my husband wouldn't give into my unreasonable ways. If he does what she wants if there isn't an actual reason why, then he would be enabling her and in turn, it would only make her ocd worse. She needs to suck it up and deal with her own feelings. With ocd, you have to learn that you can not control what others do. It's hard and it sucks in the moment, but in the long run, she has to realize that her ocd isn't for everyone to deal with. It's for her to deal with.
As someone with OCD I agree. I joke I have OCD bc I'm the mom of a child with autism 🥰 he's an adult now, but man, my son was n still is so rigid about things being the same all the time, everything lined up , things being put away just so etc I have to deal with OCD though, I don't force 8t on other people
I agree. Why not lay baby on the guest bed and fold laundry there if she's really that worried? Poor guy being called disgusting for only showering once a day. I have a sensory issue where I don't like the feeling of being wet. If I had to shower more than once a day for my SO to not find me disgusting I'd struggle for real.
While I don't have OCD myself (I do have anxiety tho), I completely agree. Given that the husband in the post works a desk job, he's not actually going to be that dirty--no more dirty than OP is anyway. It definitely sounds like the stress of being a first-time mother is causing her OCD to flair and it's probably best to address the issue before it gets worse. Although I do think a compromise of some sort could be reached (quick rinse, change of clothes, etc.) while the OP gets a better handle on being a new mother with OCD

I have ocd and theres literally nothing you can do to change the way that contamination ocd can make you feel other than therapy. You just have to have a proper conversation with your partner about it, my partner is so aware of my issues with contamination 😂

Im with the wife for the shower story, I tend to sweat a lot and in the summer or humid climate, I get musty really fast. I don't even share a bed with anyone but my rule is anytime you sweat you should shower

Idk guys…. I am absolutely disgusted when my fiancé lays in bed at night without showering first. He’s a mechanic and while all of the grease has been scrubbed off his arms/hands, it’s the idea of him sweating all day in the shop and laying in our clean bed that disgusts me

I feel like this is completely reasonable because he's a mechanic. Like, he's bound to be actually dirty after work, so it makes sense to shower once you get home. A desk job is a completely different story
I agree with the shower lady LOL I think it's pretty gross overall to not get clean before going into bed, baby or not. I definitely notice if my bf gets into bed without showering vs showering and there is a smell that accumulates faster plus the sheets just feel sweaty/greasy. There's nothing I love more than a fresh clean bed and keeping it that way for as long as possible. Plus bathing before bed is so relaxing!
The period story omg!!! That’s so traumatic! When I was a teenager I planned to go with my uncle and cousins to Estes park and spend the night. In the road trip there, he made me sit on a towel in the car because I was on my period. I really wanted to go so I cried silently and complied 🙃 I never took a trip with them again after that

Girl you are important. Please don't ever do the irreversible. Coming from someone who was a child with a mentally ill parent who felt like a burden you are not. My dad's illnesses were never a burden to me until the day he decided to be done. When he did I was left unhoused, unfathered, and unokay.
My mom wasnt really available to me either. I'm now 30 it's been almost 15 years and I'm still so burdened by his departure. I'll never be whole again. I was whole before even with all the turmoil surrounding me. Please do not decide to transfer the pain to your child. I now carry mine and what my dad left behind. I have a chronic illness and sever arthritis to where I need surgeries already at 30. So I understand physical pain and the weight it carries and the responsibility of a child on top of all of that. I truly do and my thoughts, vibes, or even prayers if that's what you believe are with you. I lost my mom in 2021 also after reconnecting and trying to work on her sobriety. You are not alone. There are people who are struggling with you. There would be so many more struggling if they didn't have you though. You are worthy of life, you are worthy of a future, and you are worthy of happiness. Things can improve, they can always get better as long as you allow yourself the chance to find that happiness. Doing the unreversable only leaves you stuck in that bad place at the end of your life instead of getting out of it. Things can't get better if you do not give them the opportunity is what I am trying to say. I hope you find a support system that helps you through this time in your life. If no one has told you recently I want you to know You are valued and I would be devastated to hear anything happened to you. I am proud of you that while struggling so deeply you are getting up daily for your son. I'm proud of the mother you are motivated to be. I am proud you are looking for things that will keep you hanging on. I am thankful I was able to read your comment and hear what little I did about you because you sound like a great person. AITA apartment boyfriend: I think he isn't an asshole. Everyone has the right to their own space. BUT he might have to accept that that's a relationship deal-breaker and that's okay!
AITA bride: if she changes the date for one person, heartbreaking or not, the new date might not work for someone else. It's a sad situation.
Since its so temporary I feel like it depends on how much she's willing to put up with. Like can she stay if she brings only essentials and won't get mad if he's doing whatever late at night. I'd rather put up with having all but essentials in storage, and sleeping with ear plugs and a mask on so he can do things late at night, than to deal with such a long commute while trying to find a place.
The one where the guy wouldn’t shower I agree with her but I have OCD as well and have a similar outlook. I’m so weird about getting in bed without showering first. I feel for her haha!

To me only showering 3 days a week is crazy. If I’m sweaty or smell in anyway I have to shower. Especially if im on my period! I know not everyone has access regular showers but id feel so gross if I didn’t shower everyday

My brother had a Fwb. She went to go play in a volleyball tournament for college across country. Not to long after being there she felt really sick. They took her to the hospital when she got worse and found out not only was she pregnant but having the baby now. 9 months. Pretty kid, great athlete, and damn near a genius. So must been a good formula 😂
Former shelter adoption supervisor here. Congrats on ur kitty! Slow intro, different rooms for a week or 2 and swapping blankets and scents. Make sure they have all their own resources (litter box, dishes, etc) so they aren’t forced to share.
I do really wish you guys would have mentioned Mama now being spayed or the importance of not breeding for kittens, accidental or not, especially with Kendall being a rescue advocate. Hundreds of kittens die every day in shelters due to oopsie litters. Not a shiny topic but you guys have a platform and Kareli chose to mention this.

Ya one of the humane societies where I live, they have so many cats that they were telling people just release them back into the neighborhood they were found because they can't take anymore cats😢😢😢

On the last story-I have a thing with getting in the bed or even sitting on the bed with dirty clothes. When my kids were little and would come home from school, I would always tell them to not sit on their bed wearing the clothes they wore. at school all day lol so as long as the husband is changing his clothes, I don’t see the need to shower. And speaking of sleeping on the couch… My boyfriend of 10 years is a couch sleeper. He started sleeping in the bed with me early on in our relationship and then switched to the couch saying, “I’ve always slept on the couch. This is what I’m comfortable with”…it’s caused so much rift in our relationship because there’s no cuddling with him and his thoughts are for me to get on the couch with him. I’m sorry but when I go to bed I’m getting in a bed and not sleeping on the couch. Which, by the way, hurts my back, and I hate falling asleep on the couch and always wake up and move to the bed if that ever happens 😅
It sounds like youre doing everything right with your new cat! Keeping them separated for a while is so important! My MIL just brought in a new cat one day. its been almost a yr and the new cat is always scared and hiding. Introducing them slowly and in a open, safe environment with hiding spots is helpful. We did that wiyh our cats and theyre best friends.

I actually unironically love candy cigarettes, I still buy them at 24. there's a specialty candy store next to the aquarium in my state and any time I go to the aquarium I have to stop by the candy store and buy out their entire supply. also, Kendall, you had me on all the candies up until Dots. I agree with Jenelle on that one 😂
I agree on the candy cigs and I'm not a big dots fan either. Maybe if they were a lil softer and had better flavors or even some sour coating😂 They taste like wax to me😢

My friend had a cat named ophelia and they called her Philly for short! .... she was a beast of a cat though.. she used to rip open packages of raw meat and drag it around the house lol

I live in nyc and shower EVERYDAY, I shower at night to go to bed. If it’s summer, I’ll shower twice a day. My husband is the same way… guess I’m just lucky we have similar ways.
Feed the cats wet food at the same time and put the dishes on each side of the door that way they can get familiar with each others scent. That way they have a barrier and will be interested in the food and have the cats scent at the same time. Baby steps. ❤
If they’ve been together for two years and haven’t moved in together or clearly, haven’t discussed moving in with each other, there is a reason. So I don’t think it’s bad that he doesn’t want to for the time being, it’s insensitive and hurtful yes but apparently this isn’t something that either of them are ready for because they haven’t done it yet and he’s not obligated to go out of his way to help her. Of course he technically should, but he does not owe it to her to make her commute shorter. Should he probably but I don’t think he’s an asshole for it. Maybe he thinks it will ruin their relationship.
Hard agree! Ultimatums and rushed decisions don’t help a relationship they harm it. Sometimes you gotta be real with ur partner and say no.
I would go with Janelle and say diet asshole because if he cared about his partner having life issues he should be inclined to want to help. However, he doesn't owe it to her and is entitled to his space. I think they have other things that need to be discussed about their relationship moving forward or not at this point because it sounds like they may want to go in different directions and that's ok.

I recommend watching Jackson Galaxy's video on introducing cats for help with your two cats meeting for the first time. I used this method for introducing my new kitten to my two adult cats, they were all unbothered with scent so we managed to zoom through that stage. It really helped me know what pace all cats were comfortable with and now they get on so well!

During the ice cream segment, I paused it and asked my husband about his favorite and then I was telling him about my favorite place I used to go to with my grandpa and sister, but I couldn’t remember the name. Oh my God, the cotton candy blizzard. So good. I literally remembered it a few months back but couldn't figure out where exactly I remembered cotton candy ice cream from and had to go on an epic hunt for it. And Kendall, you should keep an eye on the van leeuwen ice creams when you go to Walmart. You would probably love them. They have all sorts of unusual flavors that sound like you'd be into them.

I have to disagree. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to relationships. The only "rules" that matter are the ones the people in the relationship agree upon. You don't *have* to live with your partner for a relationship to be happy and successful.
However, in this specific situation, I do think that since it's only 3 months a compromise can be reached.
Totally agree with Karelly (sorry if I spelt wrong!!) this guy is a massive asshole. If he values his private space and time so much, and two years in won’t allow his gf to stay for a few months, I personally would dump his ass. In a relationship you’re supposed to support and help each other, and also 2 years in and he is very clearly not thinking at all about Long term, I don’t think they seem compatible if such a small issue is causing such a huge drama between them. But even though I do understand the guy wanting his private space, he maybe isn’t ready for a relationship, or needs to be a lot more open with his partner that he never wants to move in. A lot of people would react how his girlfriend did, but he could find someone who also wants to live separately if that’s what he wants long term. Also just my opinion, but the fact that he prioritized video games and blow torch quesadilla (lmao) over the huge 2 hour inconvenience it would cause his girlfriend to commute, seems pretty childish to me. While I can understand why the name may be triggering to some because of the book, Lolita was a Spanish name before that book was written. Although it’s still used today, it’s usually as a nickname. Lolita fashion also took the term and completely changed the meaning as far back as the 80s.
Lolita has far more use in non-nefarious settings than it does being used to sexualize a child.
