I got my period in white pants at a KISS concert back in the 80s. I had to leave half way through KISS and my awesome friend drove so she left with me, along with a few other friends. Went home, took a bath, and was mortified - but we went to an afterparty later in the night. My friends are the best for not getting mad that I had to leave, and they had all left with me. 👏
Regarding the AITA about Hester the Hugger: for me, it's more than just the hugging. Hester was told multiple times to stop doing something at work. She refused. You can't work with someone like that, ignoring the rules because "that's just how I am." If she's blasé about little rules for hugging, she'll ignore any rule you give her if she deems it unimportant.
Agreed! Also seems inappropriate for a business setting to constantly be hugging people (could understand situations like Christmas parties, moving on/retirement to hug your coworkers). If Hester was male that could be seen extremely different so I think it is only fair to hold her to the same accountability.
Is Hester developmentally delayed???? If so she may she may not be understanding she's making ppl uncomfortable with hugging ppl. She may need someone to explain personal space to her, n suggest fist bumps or high fives etc. My son is Developmentally disabled n some of his friends have to be reminded repeatedly not everyone likes hugs we need to ask 4 hugs or do fist bumps instead 😊. I'm wondering this bc her parents n professor are saying she needs this internship.. if they need to interviene it makes me wonder if Hester doesn't have some delays ❤

Yes!!! When Kendall was on maternity leave I was obviously sad about that but I actually really enjoyed that we got to hear more from Sidney and Karelly, and I love that they chime in more often now! :)
The fact you have to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to give birth at a hospital is absolutely wild to me!!! $8000!? We're fortunate enough to have free health care here in New Zealand. I hope America can follow suit one day. It literally breaks my heart knowing people aren't getting the medical attention they need because they're scared of the hefty bill that follows! :(
At our hospitals, when you’re a patient and they bring you even just a Tylenol or something, those two little pills cost us around $10 and they also charge a “self administering fee”, which is a fee for me opening the medicine and taking it myself… around $60 😭 I wish I was joking.
I had a baby in 2020 and had no insurance. My hospital bill alone was close to $20,000. And I had to pay $3500 to my doctor up front and $300 for every sonogram. I had gestational diabetes so I had to have one a week from 28 weeks on. And I’d be lying if I said the care I received was worth the money I paid. Especially from the hospital. It’s absolutely insane.

For the intern story, I wish more administrators and employers took issues like this seriously. I have worked in professional settings where the BOSSES themselves were excessive huggers and it is extremely uncomfortable. A lot of people don’t like being touched
I have sensory issues and trauma that makes being touched uncomfortable. If someone tried hugging me out of nowhere especially when I don’t know them well, my fight or flight would 100% kick in and I’d swing
Kendall, this may not be the typical comment you read but I hope you do because you changed my life in a different way than most. When I heard you speak about your auto immune disease and symptoms for years I related to you, but didn’t have any answers for myself or my own symptoms. After hearing you announce that you finally figured out you had Mono that was too high in your body, something about it stuck out to me and I felt in my soul that I also was suffering from the same disease. Today I found out I am in fact suffering from EBV and am so happy to just finally know what’s going on. Thank you for inspiring me to do tons of testing to figure out if I did have it, because now I can stop wondering. Thanks Kendall.

My ex husband was a dick about me shaving. He made me shave my legs every night for the 7 yrs we were married, even thru both pregnancies. I got so used to doing it that I still usually shave everyday, for the most part. Sometimes I remember I don't have to anymore and I'll go a week without shaving haha

I can relate to Kendalls retainer story a little too well 😅 I faked having a retainer once also. Only I used a paperclip lmao. I first straightened it out than bent it into the shape of the front of a retainer and wore it. Glad to know I'm not alone in this. 💀
I am a twin mom and the first month my husband and I would both have to step away to cry in the bathroom. It’s really hard & I have two school age kids, I’ve had newborns. Multiples are… insane.. they’re about 6 months now
I had an intensely traumatic birthing experience which landed me in ICU and needing blood transfusions. It ended up as an emergency C section. After which, my then husband decided that meant it was party time. He kept going out every night until very late then sleeping all day, or going out in my car all day when he was awake during the day. I say MY car because he didn't have a car, I bought the car before we were together, paid all the rego and insurance, paid for all services etc. So when I was finally able to drive again he was still doing that. I'd make up excuses to my friends and family because I was embarrassed to say what he was doing and I didn't want them to hate him. I felt like a single mother to a new born and a rebellious teen (even though he was in his late 20s). He also kept trying to bully me in to having an open relationship because... As he said... We weren't able to have penetrative sex while I needed to recover, I didn't do a vaginal birth so he wouldn't enjoy the feeling of my vagina being the same as before, and I had no idea how hard it was for him. He'd keep bringing it up and making me feel like crap for saying no. Eventually one night he stayed out all night and came home the next morning with hickies. That was the end of our relationship... Honestly it made things much easier once he was out of the picture because I wasn't dealing with his BS and abuse anymore.

Haha so the hugging AITA…. As a person that doesn’t like being touched or hugged…. I did work in a facility that people just loved to hug each other and I made it clear that I didn’t like being hugged and they didn’t care. They repeatedly would dismiss me and hug me anyway. This happened on a regular basis too. Friends, family, they all know I’m not a hugger and continue to dismiss this to hug me. Now I understand that some people need that physical touch to express their love, like my grandmothers loooove hugs so of course I hug them without complaint. I just think it’s so odd that people think it’s ok to ignore a person that says “I don’t like being touched” and touch them anyway. There was one person I encountered in college, he was a big hugger. Hugged everyone with a hello and goodbye. One time he went in for a hug and I like clinched up with discomfort. He recognized that and was like “you don’t like being hugged do you?” To which I said “nope but whatever it’s fine.” And he never did it again. We knuckle bumped instead from then on out. And idk just like him respecting that, it was so nice and considerate. Long story long. Haha sorry. I just really felt connected with that AITA 🤣
I've been watching Kendall's true crime channel for awhile now, but I'm a newer viewer to this podcast. I'm loving it! The whole episode is great, but I really enjoy the AITAH portion!
I took my little dog Pebbles at 12 midnight on NYE, she had a slipped disc now, she can’t do stairs, no jumping on sofa, we added slopes to everything for her, and we have a stair gate, it’s manageable now, she knows to ask to get off the sofa or get up on the sofa, she’ll scratch twice to be picked up and taken down, it was really hard at the start but it manageable now. I couldn’t do the crate rest cause she hates the crate, so I basically had to lay on the floor and create a full layer of pillow around me and I became the crate haha she couldn’t sleep without my hands on her cause she’d get scared so I didn’t sleep hehe but she’s my baby so she’s worth it. Just hang in there, just rest and life style changes, one thing is you have to change how you hold them too which I was hard but you’ll get there, hope she feels better soon ❤
This is what being a loving and responsible pet owner looks like. I’m glad you care so much for your pup. I see so many people nowadays that just don’t want to deal with the extra “work” their animal requires and it always ends up causing the pet more suffering and struggling which isn’t right. Breaks my heart but this restores my hope a bit. ❤ wishing your little fur-baby a LONG and healthy life full of yummy treats and snuggles.

In the Bora Bora story, the husband obviously isn’t taking into consideration that many things can go wrong during labor and delivery as well as post partum. If she’s having a c-section, it’s a major surgery & recovery I’m sure is tough, add twins on top of that. After I gave birth I hemorrhaged and then blacked out for unknown reasons. Anything could happen. I’d be pissed if my man would rather miss the birth of our children and ignore all of the dangers of childbirth and recovery and jet off to Bora Bora! It’d make me wonder what kind of father and co-parent he will be.

My ex husband was a dick about me shaving. He made me shave my legs every night for the 7 yrs we were married, even thru both pregnancies. I got so used to doing it that I still usually shave everyday, for the most part. Sometimes I remember I don't have to anymore and I'll go a week without shaving haha

I can relate to Kendalls retainer story a little too well 😅 I faked having a retainer once also. Only I used a paperclip lmao. I first straightened it out than bent it into the shape of the front of a retainer and wore it. Glad to know I'm not alone in this. 💀

I am a twin mom and the first month my husband and I would both have to step away to cry in the bathroom. It’s really hard & I have two school age kids, I’ve had newborns. Multiples are… insane.. they’re about 6 months now

I had an intensely traumatic birthing experience which landed me in ICU and needing blood transfusions. It ended up as an emergency C section. After which, my then husband decided that meant it was party time. He kept going out every night until very late then sleeping all day, or going out in my car all day when he was awake during the day. I say MY car because he didn't have a car, I bought the car before we were together, paid all the rego and insurance, paid for all services etc. So when I was finally able to drive again he was still doing that. I'd make up excuses to my friends and family because I was embarrassed to say what he was doing and I didn't want them to hate him. I felt like a single mother to a new born and a rebellious teen (even though he was in his late 20s). He also kept trying to bully me in to having an open relationship because... As he said... We weren't able to have penetrative sex while I needed to recover, I didn't do a vaginal birth so he wouldn't enjoy the feeling of my vagina being the same as before, and I had no idea how hard it was for him. He'd keep bringing it up and making me feel like crap for saying no. Eventually one night he stayed out all night and came home the next morning with hickies. That was the end of our relationship... Honestly it made things much easier once he was out of the picture because I wasn't dealing with his BS and abuse anymore.

Haha so the hugging AITA…. As a person that doesn’t like being touched or hugged…. I did work in a facility that people just loved to hug each other and I made it clear that I didn’t like being hugged and they didn’t care. They repeatedly would dismiss me and hug me anyway. This happened on a regular basis too. Friends, family, they all know I’m not a hugger and continue to dismiss this to hug me. Now I understand that some people need that physical touch to express their love, like my grandmothers loooove hugs so of course I hug them without complaint. I just think it’s so odd that people think it’s ok to ignore a person that says “I don’t like being touched” and touch them anyway. There was one person I encountered in college, he was a big hugger. Hugged everyone with a hello and goodbye. One time he went in for a hug and I like clinched up with discomfort. He recognized that and was like “you don’t like being hugged do you?” To which I said “nope but whatever it’s fine.” And he never did it again. We knuckle bumped instead from then on out. And idk just like him respecting that, it was so nice and considerate. Long story long. Haha sorry. I just really felt connected with that AITA 🤣

I've been watching Kendall's true crime channel for awhile now, but I'm a newer viewer to this podcast. I'm loving it! The whole episode is great, but I really enjoy the AITAH portion!
I took my little dog Pebbles at 12 midnight on NYE, she had a slipped disc now, she can’t do stairs, no jumping on sofa, we added slopes to everything for her, and we have a stair gate, it’s manageable now, she knows to ask to get off the sofa or get up on the sofa, she’ll scratch twice to be picked up and taken down, it was really hard at the start but it manageable now. I couldn’t do the crate rest cause she hates the crate, so I basically had to lay on the floor and create a full layer of pillow around me and I became the crate haha she couldn’t sleep without my hands on her cause she’d get scared so I didn’t sleep hehe but she’s my baby so she’s worth it. Just hang in there, just rest and life style changes, one thing is you have to change how you hold them too which I was hard but you’ll get there, hope she feels better soon ❤
This is what being a loving and responsible pet owner looks like. I’m glad you care so much for your pup. I see so many people nowadays that just don’t want to deal with the extra “work” their animal requires and it always ends up causing the pet more suffering and struggling which isn’t right. Breaks my heart but this restores my hope a bit. ❤ wishing your little fur-baby a LONG and healthy life full of yummy treats and snuggles.

In the Bora Bora story, the husband obviously isn’t taking into consideration that many things can go wrong during labor and delivery as well as post partum. If she’s having a c-section, it’s a major surgery & recovery I’m sure is tough, add twins on top of that.
After I gave birth I hemorrhaged and then blacked out for unknown reasons. Anything could happen. I’d be pissed if my man would rather miss the birth of our children and ignore all of the dangers of childbirth and recovery and jet off to Bora Bora! It’d make me wonder what kind of father and co-parent he will be.

best of luck to your pup janelle ❤ my little doggie had the same thing happened but he was diagnosed with IVDD but he couldn't make the remover and we lost him to it within a month 💔 although his case was extreme, im sure your pup will be okay!!! sending all the positive vibes your way

It’s not even about the hugging actually. The fact that she was told to stop doing something, and refused to, shows that she clearly can’t follow directions or rules no matter what the rule or direction is. Not a good candidate for the job. Period.
