A Great Gaming Desk From IKEA?

  • In this review, we'll be taking a look at the Utespelare gaming desk from IKEA so you can see if it will be a great desk for you. Some of the great things I noticed with this IKEA desk is that you get a good amount space on the worktop for any of your desk setup essentials. Another good thing I found with this gaming desk is that IKEA wasn't lying when they said it was stable. You can also adjust the height of the desk to better accommodate people of different heights. But one of the things that IKEA could've improved with this gaming desk has to do with the surface of the worktop. I noticed that hand prints show up quite easily with this desk. In my opinion, the Utespelare gaming desk is a great desk overall, other than the smudges that show up on the surface with this color.

    Thanks for the review! I'll be looking to get this when it's back in stock. Had a question though, when the beveled side is facing you, is the gap in the back wide enough to pass the plug of a cable through? Looks like it MIGHT be possible, but I wouldn't want to have to take the desk top off every time I add a new peripheral or monitor, etc. Thanks!

    • @originalfurniturereviews2964
      @originalfurniturereviews2964  2 года назад +3

      The gap is less than one inch so you might have to run the cables through the back if you decide to have the edge with the indent facing you.

    After a year of so of working with this desk I agree that the table top is REALLY vulnerable for moist, scratches and bumping in to it. Also my top came with some unknown stains that I can't remove. Do I recommend this desk? Yeah if your budget is low then yes, if you have more to spend then no.

    I don't understand the point of the back mesh. It turns a 31 inch desk into a two feet desk that can hardly fit a gaming monitor and keyboard with a wrist rest. Air flow? Gamers spend hundreds of dollars on overkill coolers and fans. A 60 degree CPU doesn't need a desk mesh. I dunno it's just a bit strange.

    • @omelashomelas
      @omelashomelas 7 месяцев назад +4

      Exactly. Wihh out the mesh this would have been a good option for me. Will have to look elsewhere..

    • @overfall.
      @overfall. 4 месяца назад

      Hot air rises - cold air sinks. Having mesh at the back means you can pull more air from below leading to more efficient cycling of the existing cool air in the room as well new cold air from an AC. This is especially noticable in smaller rooms - sure it's not much but its a nice touch

    Just picked one up today, also have an older 63” x 30” IKEA desk that I picked up some new Olov legs for, probably going to L-shape that baby next to this guy. Ultimately, I'd like a Deskhaus standing desk and perhaps a Skogsta table (92" x 39") to replace this setup in the future -- I just didn't want to dump the money ($3k+ for the Deskhaus unless there's a sale, $700 for the Skogsta) when it's just so easy to keep it cheap with the aforementioned setup. I literally don't care what happens to either of these desks, Jim Hacksaw Duggan could split them in two and yell "HOOOOO" and I'd just go get another one from IKEA 😂

    This thing wobbled like a drunk guy @ 3am when i tested it at Ikea. I went Team Trotten instead. No black tabletop (only white or beige) but at least I wont have to wipe my tabletop every 2 minutes like i would have had to with this fingerprint magnet. I really wanted this desk to, its sexy as hell but there's a reason it's $270 US. ($250 in Canada actually..which is strange) Its too light for one and i could push it around with my pinky finger! For $100 more i get a much sturdier manual sit/stand desk and it has a 10 year warranty as a kicker. Sorry Utespelare... you looked good from far but far from good, i had to pass up close :P
