The chair seems pretty meh (thin seat padding, non adjustable lumbar support, non swiveling arm rests), but that desk is awesome!

I saw them actually setting up the gaming section at my local ikea right in the same area as the office desks. This is only the beginning too because more companies will also follow and more collaborators will team up with ikea for more gaming equipment. Its about damn time to be honest! Can we get the karlby in a smaller side with cable cutouts too.

I've tried that chair, it was comfy but a bit underwhelming at the same time. I was actually so close to buying it last week!

I'm a big fan of the collaboration between ROG and IKEA. It's dope that a great furniture place like IKEA is now an avenue where we can get some pretty sick gaming-focused furniture. Two things I really like from the collab is their adjustable standing desk, and that display case with the pegboard. Dope dope dope.

This desk is a crazy value at $160, I can't imagine this thing can stay this price! We have picked dup 3 of them for the house so far.

I spent the last month researching desks. Went to IKEA with the intention to purchase a couple alex drawers and then head to home depot for a butcher block. While at ikea i stumbled across this desk after not seeing it anywhere online. Was looking at the black one and had it pointed out to me that there was a gray one on clearance for $200. Grabbed the desk after sitting at it forna few minutes and falling in love with it. Cant wait to get it set up.
The wooden hand is so cool!
yo IKEA shoulda continue with these modular desk setup, like footrest and desklamp and any kinds of holder (laptop, phone, or even drink / food tray, and trash bin).

There is a motorized adjustable sit stand gaming desk in a couple sizes as well. Will be getting the 70 inch wide sit stand version for 600 right now new for work and gaming. I compared it to other sit stand desks and the price is a steal for what you get. It’s durable and spacious. Most sit stand desks don’t have a width of 70 inches and depth of 30+. Makes a huge difference being able to fit more stuff on your desk and have your monitors further from your eyes.

I got the desk, easily one of the better values on desks, great cable management, STURDY, all black, adjustable, and tons of space, my setup is looking really nice. They even got a light grey one too that looks great

My problem with my current problem with my desk is that my acer monitor shakes and moves when I use my keyboard and mouse. I was wondering if I got a desk like this which is hopefully more sturdy, this problem would go away. Any tips?
It calls my attention that IKEA's description for the desk says: "That’s why we decided to team up with recognised experts from Republic of Gamers (ROG), to better understand what everyday life is like for devoted PC gamers." so it seems like none of those "recognised experts" have ever used an aftermarket monitor stand, I'm wondering how are we supposed to install one in the back of this desk?, that grill looks so flimsy.
someone's done it before. There's not many videos featuring this desk so just search for it I guess. Not sure where it is.

there are metal "beams" and frame beneath and around the grill where you can attach and tighten up monitor stands. You can see them at 3:02, 3:24

could u put 2 of these together side by side or in a L Shape? Im needing a desk that needs to be 2 things - a workstation and a gaming desk? ideally looking for something that can store the Xbox with its vertical cooler on a shelf so its out of the way so desk space is expanded. I did see the FREEDE but would appreciate ur thoughts? Or to go for 2 table tops in L shape plus legs. Im not a serious gamer, so im not sure where to go with this.

@@KingTupi I have a double mounting arm with 2 x 27" Monitors. And then my full atx rig is behind them (on the grated area). Works great and keeps it cool. The desk is solid.

@@beariyy3872 in my opinion the mesh in the back ruins the aesthetic to the desk. I mean it has purpose but, in terms of style and design imo it doesn’t check that box.

Is the metal mesh removable? I like the desk, but for my room layout having it would use up more space than I’d like

Good question. That's what's holding me on the fence on getting it
For anyone in the future having the same question: the mesh part technically is removable, but the metal frame that it's attached to extends from almost the front (bar a couple cm) to exactly the back. So you can put a bigger, full 80cm, tabletop onto the frame, but you can't decrease the overall depth by those 20 cm.
Also, in cases like that you can check the assembly PDFs that Ikea has on their website - from those, you can pretty much always deduce how a unit is assembled and which parts can be removed should you need to.
The value for money factor is definitely on Ikea's side

yes, there is thick frame under and around the mesh where you can tighten monitor arm to.

@@beariyy3872 it has a metal frame at the bottom for sturdiness and the salesperson told me monitor arms would hold fine but I could definitely see it bending/snapping that thin wood over time. the tabletop is also thin. Idk it may work for you but for me, I didn't want to take a chance and have it breaking. I also put my PC on the desk. I returned it and bought a tabletop and 2 Alex drawers and called it a day.
@@Lu-sj6ni Height adjustment is a requirement for me considering I'm short as hell and posture matters to me. Sooo alex drawer's wouldn't work. I may have to pay a premium for other desks then. Thanks.
